For a place that's centered mainly on bowling, I'm giving them 5 stars for the bowling aspect and 3 stars for the food. My group got there late at night so of course service would be slow. The rice in the bi bim bap was undercooked, and the burgers on the menu tasted mediocre.

We came out for the Holidating improv musical. This was such a a cool event! I didn't know they had a theatre area! We were able to get full service while watching the show. Out server was very quick and timed everything well to the show. The food and drinks were tasty too. We had the wild rice salad, adult slushy, grande nachos, and garlic bloody. All were pretty tasty, butt we filled up real quick on the nachos. The theatre tables were a little small, so I try and order accordingly.

This is such a cute place! We came in for their date night special. It's quite smaller than expected but super cute. Staff was really nice but it took us a while to get set up with bowling once we were done with our food. Note that the date night is two entrees but you don't get to pick your entree, it was a preset entree so we could have either a chicken quesadilla or veggie quesadilla. We also got the rosemary potatoes. We chose a bottle of red for our drink and then did a game of bowling. The bowling is pretty much self service which was interesting. You just grab shoes and a ball and they give you a paper scoring sheet so you track your own score. Very old school and very fun!

I've been to BLB a time or two before mostly to grab drinks. We stopped in on a Saturday (before St. Patrick's day) and was a little excited that they had a few festive drink specials. We opted for green beer (miller lite). The bartender was super cool & friendly. The dining area is a bit tight. They are always busy whenever I go. I would probably come back to bowl and/or see a show, maybe even try some food. Bowling prices didn't seemed reasonable.

A classic and famous gem of Uptown Mpls. First time coming here after years of saying I've always wanted to experience this place. It's definitely a cool scene to walk into with a bar restaurant and old school bowling alley. I just came here to see what was on the drink menu for St. Patrick's day. There were a few items I decided to try the green Miller lite beer to be festive. The beer was pleasing to look at with the bubbly green. I haven't had the chance to try any dishes yet, but will definitely be back since this is a staple in Minneapolis. Easy going staff

This is more of a restaurant vs. bowling alley. Was surprised and excited to see the menu - Ordered the Bibambap and it was a home run. Big portions, great colorful dish, and the gochuchang had a nice touch. Kimchi didn't taste as fresh but that is minor. Excited to try other dishes in the future.

New level of "bowling alley food"! Exquisite food! My Roasted Vegetable Salad was a WIN: nicely roasted veggies garnished with wild rice, delish nuts, dried craisins, and assorted goodies! My favorite was the roasted parsnips-Yummy! Equally good (but unexpected) was their Bi Bim Bap Bowl: great meat, veggies, & Kimchi. These are items I can't get readily even in cosmopolitan Minneapolis! Great service from Erica-we appreciate you! I'm a lover of historic & vintage things and this spot is a bonus! Next time I'm bringing my bowling shoes!

Fun spot to hang out and grab some drinks/food. Love the old school bowling area in the back, perfect for private parties too!

The Bim bap bowl with pork was so delicious! Better than most I've had. I went there with a friend for dinner and I had the BLT sandwich and he had the bun bap bowl and both were so good. The service was friendly and very attentive.

A great beer selection and cocktails that looked delicious but the server didn't seem to know very much about either. The brussel sprouts were my favorite part, you have to try them if you come here. I got the bacon truffle burger with no bacon and the impossible patty substituted and it was quite tasty but nothing very special to be honest, most restaurants could replicate it so I thought it was a bit overpriced. I got the sweet potato fries with it which were delicious and came with an amazing chipotle aioli but they forgot to bring them out and I had to remind the serve about them. Overall, service and ambiance were great. We were checked in on just enough and felt very comfortable. The food was between good and great, some things were incredible and some weren't too special but still tasty. I would come back here but not on my own dime.

Nightingale was packed, but fortunately, once two patrons saw my face from the bar, they quickly paid their bill and left. My face often compels people to vacate crowded establishments in Minneapolis, and we often find seats. After grabbing the two seats, we ordered wine and a wonderful Amaro-based cocktail. Jules was our bartender/server, and although he was crazy busy, he found time to be gracious to us. We ordered the meatball appetizer, halibut, and the Nightingale hamburger. My halibut was sublime, cooked perfectly, and it wasn't drowned in sauce. Bravo! The meatballs were tender and delicious, but the hamburger was not memorable. It was good, not great. Despite all the accolades above, when the bill came, I was charged two dollars after requesting a cucumber slice for my Pimms Cup. Perhaps the source of this pettiness came from the kitchen, but it wasn't smart, because the $2.00 charge placed a shroud over my experience. The bill was $125, and because of the petty two-buck charge, I only left a $25 tip. I was going to leave a $30 tip. I will sadly remember those 2 bucks forever. It was a myopic move and a passive-aggressive way to handle my request. In my birthplace home of NYC, a bartender would have said, "Getting a cucumber slice is a pain in the rear, would you mind skipping it?" My response, "Sure, it's not a big deal."

The service was genuinely friendly and pleasant throughout our visit, which went a long way. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the setting. I tried the NY Strip special, which was fine but nothing memorable - exactly what you'd expect, no more, no less. The oysters were disappointing for the price point; the quality just wasn't there. The mushroom bruschetta similarly underwhelmed - it felt like it was missing something to make it stand out. The bright spot? The drinks were solid and well-crafted. I wanted to rate this higher based on the atmosphere and service alone, but at the end of the day, the food has to deliver. With so many great options in Minneapolis, Nightingale needs to step up its culinary game to match its lovely setting. I'd consider returning for drinks, but probably not for dinner.

This place does get busy so definitely keep that in mind. Luckily I made reservations ahead of time so we had a table waiting for us, otherwise we would have been put on a waiting list since it's a small space. They put us in a corner booth which was nice and spacious enough for 4 people so I'd definitely recommend asking for a booth verse a table if you're planning to come with a larger group. The servers are all very friendly and helpful. I appreciated their attentiveness and sharing what they like best, especially for what's in season based on the time of year. The menu has quite a bit of variety too which is sometimes unexpected when you come to a pub-style location. For appetizers we got Onion Ring and Fried Pickles. They were both really good and served with dipping sauces. Definitely both shareable items so if you're in a group they'd be great options! My entree I chose the Wild Alaskan Sockeye Salmon served with lemon soy marinade, creamy cucumbers, and jasmine rice -- it was SO good!! I loved the creaminess of the cucumbers especially with the rice and than the lemon soy marinade was just a unique touch to the salmon. Toned the flavors down without overpowering acidity. And the salmon was so dreamy, a beautiful pink color that you just knew it wasn't a farm raised salmon. Plus the portion was very generous!! I'd definitely recommend the Alaskan Sockeye Salmon to anyone interested in visiting here. #eatwildsavewild The only negatives (which are more so just knowledge bombs for you): * Restaurant is VERY loud. It's hard to hear because it is one small room that everyone plus the bar is in. I wished I would have took a picture to show what I mean. Just know that if it's an intimate setting you're looking for this is not the place. So be prepared to talk loudly over the loudness and ask "excuse me?" or "repeat that" many times throughout your visit because you're not going to hear everything. * Timed eating. Because this place is a hit with limited seating, once you get a table and complete your meal/payment you'll kindly be asked to leave so that they can clean up and open the table to next in line. Totally get that and am not put off by this at all, but I could see how it could catch some folks off guard especially if you are out for a meal with folks you may not see frequently-- so just keep that in mind. This is not the place to sit and talk post meal. * Parking is limited. Be prepared to walk a few blocks as the road parking in front of the business is pretty limited especially with the other stores and restaurants in the area. Regardless of those few bullets I highly recommend folks visit George & The Dragon. It's a really cool spot and the food was great! Plus theirs a malt shop right next door that looks yummy too, so definitely worth visiting and getting malts after for dessert.
