Definitely agree with the reviews that this place has a great atmosphere! The place is big and there is a big patio. We enjoyed our time here and the main reason we're giving it 3 stars instead of 4 or 5 stars is because the food was just ok for the pricing. Also comparing to other pizza or pasta places in Minneapolis, I think they place felt a bit short for us. The only thing that felt special was the garlic cheese curds, which wasn't super cheesy but still delicious. Our server was very friendly and overall the staff seemed nice. Meatballs. They were so good. We loved Red Rabbit. After a long day of traveling we visited for dinner and sat on the back patio. The weather was lovely and the patio was cute and quaint and we were not forgotten about, which is sometimes the case when you sit outside. We were hungry. Finally had a chance to try Red Rabbit and had such a fun dinner! Got there around 5:30 on a Saturday, waited maybe 30ish min for a table of three - but it was well worth the wait! All staff members were so helpful - offering drinks to people waiting on tables and overall just great service once seated. Now onto the good stuff: Apps - we had the garlic bread cheese curds and Arancini, both were good - cheese curds could have been warmer but the taste was still great! Entrees: we ordered two pizzas (one mushroom, one margarita add pepperoni) and the butternut squash ravioli. Everything was perfectly cooked: the pepperoni has a nice spice and the mushroom pie was one of our favorites we've had! The ravioli was also so creamy and had a great filling - there were only 6 raviolis but they were all a decent size. Drinks: espresso martinis that tasted more like coffee than baileys (just the way we like it!), a delicious orange clove bourbon cocktail, and some red wine - smiles all around! I cannot say anything greater than the best food I have ever tasted in my life. Seriously, everything was fresh and the salad (caprese bowl) I had was as if all the ingredients were plucked or prepared from an organic farm called heaven. The oysters we had at the start from Nova Scotia and somewhere else was like a dream realized onto our tastebuds. Even the sparkling water was like the first class sparkling water they serve on Air Force One I'd imagine. The service...perfect. The ambiance...beautiful. The music in the background...yes!!! Ate here a few years ago and tried some pasta dishes that seemed ok but not great. This time, we tried the cauliflower soup. That is excellent with bits of crunchy croutons in some bites. Definitely recommend and it's not overly cream or heavy. My husband tried the house salad. He said it looked better than it tastes, as all I could see was arugula. My caprese salad was good, and substituting the chicken for the salmon made it that much more flavorful and enjoyable. Great time: delicious food, awesome service, and lively atmosphere. My only regret is not coming sooner. They don't take reservations, so if you arrive and there's a long wait, scout the bar area. Thats what we did. With it being a Friday night and packed... I figured we'd be in for a wait. It was slated to be 35mins, but luckily I roamed the bar and found people who were leaving. Seated in less than 10mins. The spicy salami pizza is good. I liked the chili honey, but after eating 2/3 of my pizza found myself tired of the sweetness. My BF got the bolognese which was very tasty. Not too oily (as was the case at another place I had it), and well flavored. Nothing else to say other than I'd recommend it. Red rabbit is always safe choice for dinner. Great beer and drink list( Moscow mules here are a must). Some of my favorite foods dishes are the charcuterie board, spicy salami pizza and the cavatelli. Here is my rundown of the appetizer and entrees that we ordered: Burrata appetizer - Fresh and light with a great pesto seasoning Bolognese entrée - I'm a huge pappardelle fan and this dish did not disappoint. I added Italian sausage to it as well. Bucatini entrée - my husband ordered this and the waiter mentioned that the cheese was cold and recommended mixing the ingredients together. Enjoyed our visit to the Red Rabbit during our time in Minneapolis. The burrata and pizza roll appetizers were really nice - everyone at the table enjoyed sharing them. The sausage, peppers and polenta was delicious but had a definite spicy kick at the end. Not overwhelming but unexpected on the first bite. The kids had spaghetti and meatballs - and didn't really care for the meatballs. Definitely not comparable to good homemade meatballs but what can you do. What a spot. I rolled in fresh off of a new haircut (I look awesome btw) and this place was hoppin for their Martini brunch and bottomless mimosas. On my way home I came back for dinner. All told I had the meatballs actually not an easy thing to make well. The romesco was solid but what gave it the edge was this lime hit and croutons. I believe it was maybe lime zest? Give me more of that. As far as the Oysters? I had 3 servings of those so ....yah. Staff, manager, cleanliness, vibe....all great. AND HEY!! When you get done you can walk across the street and go to Sex World. Lemme know how that goes . One negative ....don't get the halibut. That's a bad unfocused dish to dry and needs a real French sauce. I'd re-invent it or just take it off the menu. I just flew into Minnesota this evening and wanted a quick bite so naturally, I looked on Yelp to see what was nearby and found Red Rabbit. It was packed as I anticipated, but lucked out that I was seated right away and had a cocktail in hand shortly after. The service was impeccable, as my waitress was so attentive, polite, friendly and helpful as I navigated the menu of choices. She was also spot on with all of her recommendations. I enjoyed delicious wings, cavatelli (served with warm crispy bread for dipping), and savored the perfectly blended old-fashioned. The manager (or maybe owner) of the establishment also stopped by to see how things were, and while that may sound standard, it was the authenticity that I greatly appreciated. Everyone made you feel like they genuinely cared about you having the best meal possible, and I did! Thank you for the great welcoming to Minnesota! PS. Interesting hipster vibe at the bar, the servers/bartenders all work together at the bar so you might get different service throughout your dinner experience, wish they would have stated that in the beginning. As we were confused who to order from. I enjoyed their blend of their martini which was half gin/ half vodka. They also give you a little dropper that has infused olive juice so you can adjust your martini potency and there is fresh thyme to add. Loved the presentation! My favorite restaurant in the twin cities! Their consistency is what is impressive. Today I dined in (I usually do takeout) and my server was exceptional. I can say this was hands down the best experience I've ever had. He was beyond kind and thoughtful - thank you for that! Now onto the food - my daughter got her usual - chicken tenders with fries. Crispy, crunchy and a generous portion for kids. I tried something new and got the mostaccioli - the penne was cooked perfect al dente with crispy bread crumbs on top. Upon looking for some great Italian options in the cities we found Red Rabbit. We were originally concerned that they don't take reservations, since we went on a Saturday night, but they did have a virtual waitlist that turn on when through Tock when needed. When we departed at ~7 there were 30+ parties in line so plan ahead! The location appears to have some parking behind the building but you're mostly going to be looking for street parking so plan on walking a block or two. Upon entering there is both a bar and dining area that was bigger than we expected, and a patio with quite a number of tables when the weather is warmer. We were quickly seated and I would say that service was good throughout the meal. For apps we ordered the cheese curds (5/5) and garlic bread (4/5). Definitely good options that started the experience off right! For entrees our party of 6 got a chance to try quite the range of items. Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken, Bolognese pasta, lasagna (it was thick!), mostaccioli, gluten free family favorites pizza and the cavatelli. Almost all items got great reviews with exception of the bolognese which was a little bland. My cavatelli was a home run! We finished up with a budino (a reason on its own to return. It was delicious) and an espresso martini which was also good. Overall the "hits" outnumbered the few "ehs" and there weren't any full misses. However, we did not have to wait long to be seated. - some of the tables felt a little close together, and the atmosphere was very loud. Therefore, you had to yell a little to speak across the table, but that is pretty expected of course. - the service was really great - all menus are online and when the server brought the check you were able to scan the receipt and pay with ApplePay! Food: - super yummy, perfect sized portions. Also, it was all cooked perfectly. Many people also checked in to ensure everything was great. Fantastic dining experience at Red Rabbit. It was a jam packed Saturday night and I was lucky enough to find the last empty spot at the bar. With how packed it was I set my expectations that everything might be a little slow, but service was great and personable. Food came out piping hot and was so good. I got the Mostaccioli w/ chicken & Italian sausage, it didn't disappoint and was a very hearty pasta dish that warmed me up on a cold night. Great value for this too at ~$23. The old fashioned was great, probably the best drink I had during my time in Minneapolis. Sticky Toffee Cake was great! The orange peel garnish added a new palette of flavor while the 'sour cream' cream broke through the intense sweetness and balanced it very nicely. Unfortunately the old guy sitting next to me ended up dining and dashing. Never seen this happen before and it was a wild turn of events for the night. We each ordered the chicken parm and shared a side of broccolini. My chicken was warm at best. I asked for a heat up so they had to remake the whole thing. My husband practically finished his meal by the time I got my replacement. The side had really good flavor but was woody. I'm not sure if that's normal because we don't usually eat broccolini.
