I was visiting the area for the month of April, 2024 on a difficult family visit. One of the best things I can say about Nick, Liz, and Ken is that they treated me like in was a guest in their own home. My spot is at the counter and found the regulars there to be friendly, yet unobtrusive. The Seafood Angelina is a top notch dish, plenty of fresh shellfish and a delicious pasta in a light lemony sauce. On a particularly cold and wet night I enjoyed THE best pot pie I have ever eaten. The light and fluffy crust floated on a ginormous bowl of flavorful chicken and vegetable goodness, I had a family recipe Moussaka which was awesome, light béchamel sauce and a finely ground meat filling. The service and food are always outstanding here. They actually put effort into training their wait staff. The staff and management both work hard and it shows. This place is a well oiled machine. My only minor gripe is that you sometimes get delayed paying the check if someone is in front of you. But they are quick and efficient when you do. If you are nearby, this is the place. read more

This place is a Diner and it shares all the attributes of a diner, like 24/7 operation and a large menu. The place where it is differs is 1. This place is more vibrant 2. This place is a lot cleaner than a regular diner 3. Food here tastes slightly better than other diners, but does not taste as much as a regular restaurant Tex-mex omelet was ok. I prefer more flavor from it, but not bad. Santa fe wrap was also on the blander side, but ok. Red line combo was fine. The steak in it was good, crab stuffing and shrimp as fine. This is a great diner. The food is consistently good and there is a widely varied menu. They offer gluten free bread for sandwiches and toast as well as gluten free pasta, which is great for those of us who need that. Service is usually good and even when there is a wait it goes quickly. Overall, you couldn't find a better diner. read more

We heard really good things about this dinner so we had to stop on our way up north. I have to say, this diner had great socially distant outdoor dining and really friendly staff. Nice music and lights under the tent made it a nice experience. We shared 3 different dishes-- sweet potato pancakes, chicken & waffles and Santa Fe wrap. I really enjoyed the pancakes and egg wrap. The pancakes were light and fluffy and had such great warm fall flavor! The chicken and waffles were disappointing. There was not too much chicken on the bone, mostly breading and skin which is not our thing. The waffles were fine, I was just expecting more with the chicken. Management was unbelievably horrific. 0 hospitality, my wife and I have been going there consecutively for the past 2 years and we order the same thing every single time. They get the order completely wrong and the manager tells us to go pick the toppings off ourselves with an absurd attitude. I'm not a diner person, but when the cheatingest team in football just lost in the playoffs, you celebrate, and when you celebrate after midnight, you go to a diner. That brought me to Red Line for the second time, and the first time ordering any amount of food. As is my wont, I went with breakfast, and had a modified sausage omelette - add onions, mushrooms, Swiss cheese. Sorta like a Swiss burger omelette, but with sausage. It turns out all of these items were considered extras, jacking my price into exotic territory. I could have expected that, but they should have informed on the menu that each item adds a cost - the menu only suggests that meats are extra. The prices for most items are pretty high compared to NJ diners, too. So I'm deducting a star for feeling like I was slightly robbed. On the plus side, the omelette was large and delicious, the home fries were home fries (not dried out, which is my one complaint), and plenty of side toast. The iced tea was bottomless. I wish this place let you substitute pancakes for toast like some NJ diners. I ended up too stuffed for dessert, but I have my eye on that half-mousse, half-cheesecake. I'll be back. read more

I ordered a burger with avocado and bacon. the avocado was hidden underneath the burger patty, and when I lifted it up and took apart the burger, the avocado was completely brown and had quite a large spot of black dotted mold on it. when I called the restaurant, I was told avocados turn brown once they touch a burger and that it's fine. will not be eating the $20 burger I bought considering it had mold touching it, and will never be eating here again or suggesting it to other people. horrible customer service, horrible tasting food read more

Decided to give this place a try, because the pics looked good and it was essentially right next to our hotel. The Good: It was a Saturday night and we got sat in less than 20 minutes. The waitress was super fast and pretty friendly for down-state. The cakes and pies selection was awesome as well as the cookies. I had a slice of carrot cake m, which was amazing. The waitress was phenomenal. Everything else was terrible. The water was undrinkable. They charged $3 for a glass of lemonade that was a cheap Tang mix. Food and/or service is good, depending on the day. Sometimes the cheese is melted perfectly on the eggs and the buttermilk pancakes are delicious. But on other days... the order can be incorrect. The cheese is thrown on top of the eggs and not melted correctly. The pancakes are overcooked. The toasted bread, with plastic wrapped around it, is thrown on top of the cheese eggs, leaving it stuck to the cheese which I then have to scrape off the plastic and back onto the eggs. Most times I'll order over the phone and they'll say, "25 minutes", yet when I pick up my order, the food will either not be ready yet or the food is cold, meaning it's been ready and sitting for a while. I keep going back anyway, right? So what the hell. I just hope for more consistency on good food & service in the future. read more

I was nearby with a group of friends and willing to give this place a second chance, and I'm quite glad I did. Service was markedly better than my initial visit back in the spring and the menu had been updated to reflect that the french dip sandwich I complained about had provolone cheese. On this visit, I had the cajun burger with a side of onion rings. The burger was coated in cajun spices and topped with a "cajun relish", which I think was made of jalapeños and spices. Some things claiming to be "cajun" are bland, but this burger had a nice spicy kick. The onion rings tasted like normal frozen rings, but it was nice to have them as a side option. My friends had an assortment of burgers and sandwiches, all liking their food. The waitress had no problem with one friend not ordering anything because he wasn't hungry and we didn't get have trouble splitting checks. If all future visits here are like Visit 2, this will definitely be a recurrent stop when I'm in the area. read more

Came in here after dinner with some friends since it was my diet cheat day and I had been thinking about a milkshake for the week. We got an oreo milkshake, and root beer float, and Lemon Meringue pie to share between the three of us. The interior is very retro but very clean and new, most diners I walk into these days seem to be a bit dated and dingy, not the case here! The Oreo milkshake was perfect consistency and was delicious. The root beer float was also amazing with a great ratio of ice cream to liquid. The lemon meringue pie was amazing, perfectly tart with a hint of sweet. The toasted top was done perfectly with a little bit of nuts.
