I came here with a group of 6 and they were able to seat us right away. They offer hot pot but we opted out of that. I got a Q Crispy Beef and it was delicious! My co workers got sushi and every single one I tried was delicious! I would come back again in the future and try their hot pot!

Came for the dishes instead of hotpot this time and they did not disappoint. All the plating was great and the waiters were attentive making sure we had everything. One dish I would recommend is Xi'an Cold Rice noodles, it's an appetizer but was on par for a dish. The proportion was on the larger side and it had a perfect spice, all I have to say was it was delicious and for $9.95 you cannot go wrong. The dan dan noodles were good, but I would say the cold noodles were better. The golden buns were also great, a classic dish that is always loved with a great crisp. We did get the wrong sushi roll, unsure if they misheard us or if they thought we pointed to a different one but I'm glad they did because the Thunder Roll was delicious. I think it was the yellowtail that was on top that tied everything together, it was just really good. Overall a great place for dishes if you haven't tried it before you won't be disappointed.

This place continues to be one of the top sushi/ hot pot/ Chinese restaurants in Chinatown. Some quick impressions: - Great, diverse menu, so there is something for everyone. - wine is fairly priced. We had a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon for less than $40 b As an operations guy, my suggestion to management would be to suggest two things: 1. The salmon sashimi I had was a bit cold. It may be because I was at the 5:30 seating, but it taste better cool, but not cold. 2. Not sure where the bottles of wine are stored, but our cab was warm. Analogous to the sushi, red wine is better cool to room temperature vs warm. Again, I am a big fan of this place. Just want to provide balanced feedback to make an awesome place even more ...awesome?

Came for lunch at 12 for their sushi. the place was busy since they had only 1 server running back and forth. Service was kind of slow. T&T Roll ($20.75 salmon, cheese, and avocado, deep-fried, topped with spicy crab meat, tempura flakes, tobiko, and eel sauce) - Hot hot hot, be careful not to burn your mouth. Creamy avocado and cheese melt in your mouth. Sexy Lady Roll ($18.95 crab meat, shrimp, tobiko, and avocado topped with torched salmon, finished with spicy mayo and eel sauce) - Just yummy as long as you enjoy eating light smoky flavor on the salmon due to torched. Sweetheart Roll ($18.95 shrimp tempura, avocado, tobiko, fresh mango, and fried shallots wrapped into a heart shape with soy paper, topped with eel sauce and spicy mayo) - clean and refreshing taste with light spicy mayo and eel sauce Philadelphia Roll ($9.75 Smoked salmon, cream cheese, cucumbers, scallions) - creamy texture and savory flavor. California Roll ($8.75 Crab stick, cucumber, avocado, flying fish roe) - classic, nothing can go wrong.

This place was recommended by the concierge at our hotel. We went there for dinner. They had everything Chinese. Hot Pot, sushi, dumplings, fried rice and seafood. We ordered a few things. Shrimp fried rice, dumplings and sushi. People next to us had the hot pot. They said it was fantastic. Our fried rice was the best we've had in a long while. I wish we were here longer. We would definitively have come back for another meal. The service was excellent. Our waitress was always available and very helpful. I can highly recommend this place.

I've never....EVER....been WOW'd by a Chinese restaurant as much as I was WOW'd by Q Restaurant. We were recently in Boston for a couple days and were looking for a restaurant with good Chinese food. The concierge at the hotel had one recommendation: Q Restaurant. The five of us made our way to Q, not having the slightest idea what to expect. It was a Friday evening so we naturally anticipated having to wait for a table. We didn't. We were taken right in and seated towards the back of the restaurant and almost immediately greeted by our server, Johnny. Johnny was, in a word, AbsolutelyFreakingAwesome. He was funny, he was helpful, he helped us navigate the GINORMOUS menu...and he was generally very cool. He also kept our drink refills filled. I'm not exaggerating when I say the menu was ginormous. I'm guessing 12 pages with every possible kind of Chinese(ish) food you can think of. Sushi. Hot Pots, Traditional Chinese. Sashimi's (I'm always glad I don't have lisp when I write that word). Dumplings...everything. There were five people in our party and we can be a handful. Just deciding on an appetizer can be a task, so we ended up with 3 or 4 that we shared amongst us. For my entrée I decided on Beef with Hot Peppers (not knowing how hot those peppers were going to be). I don't recall what everyone else had. Johnny said that the Beet with Hot Peppers was his favorite item on the menu. Our entrees came out about ten minutes later and everything looked and smelled absolutely delicious. I couldn't wait to dig into my entrée. Chopsticks in hand, I dug right now. Yea...those peppers were, indeed, hot. VERY hot. Good, but VERY hot. The beef was very tender and tasty. I could handle some of the peppers, but not all...and that's saying something because I LOVES me some hot peppers. Our entire party loved our entrees and we had an absolutely awesome time during our visit to Q. The staff was constantly on their feet delivering food, refilling drinks, cleaning table, and welcoming new diners. Top to bottom, our visit to Q and our time with Johnny was 100% awesome.

Nice lunch in Chinatown at americanized place with pan Asian dishes. Staff friendly. Thai iced tea was also delicious and refreshing! Standout was the chicken teriyaki skewers.

My second time here; food is fresh and delicious and service is very efficient. One of the few places where you don't smell strongly of hotpot when you leave! Lots of broth variety, including veggie, chicken, and beef-based soups. We got the beef platter (thinly sliced beef, shabu style) and mala beef (very tender and marinated in a spicy sauce), seafood platter, veggies, and some quail eggs. Prices were fairly reasonable given the variety, quality and amount of food

Loved this place, would recommend grabbing a reservation as it can be pretty busy. The lychee martinis were super strong but so worth your money and delicious. We did a sushi roll, avocado bomb and hot pot which were all so delicious. The menu is fairly large so there are options. It was a full and lively restaurant and lots of seats.

This is a nice Asian themed restaurant that specializes in hot pots. They have cozy boothe They have an extensive menu that includes Chinese dishes as well as sushi and Korean. Lychee martinis were incredible. The shrimp pad Thai was delicious and full of large shrimp. The calamari was the star and you HAVE to get this. It is outstanding. The soup (don't remember name) was enough to feed a family and it was sooo good! The servers were so nice and helpful even though we showed up near closing time. I very highly recommend.

A truly delightful experience. Hao Mikkie provided exceptional service and wonderful drinks !!! The crab Rangoon was the best I ever had. So light. So flakey/crisp.

Q Restaurant Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Q Restaurant

Do they offer private events or full restaurant buy outs?

Is it all you can eat hotpot or based on ordered dishes?

It's based on each broth and item/tray you order. Tons of options.

How safe is it for people with celiac disease( very severe gluten intolerance )to eat here ? What safety precautions are taken like separate utensils for cooking, separate ingredients?

It's not safe to eat here under any circumstances! This food is dangerous for your tastebuds! You'll wish you never tasted anything here!

Is the restaurant open regular hours again and is there a time limit for indoor dining?

We were there late November, and they were open and didn't rush us at all. I would call to be certain; but we were delighted to be back at Q, one of our Boston favorites!

Are there a lot of gluten free options?

Yes. Many of their dishes are just naturally gluten free, but they also have a separate gluten free menu. One of the most allergy / dietary need accommodating restaurants around.

How long does it take to eat here?

Hello, usually guest spends about an hour to an hour and half for their meal. It also depends on if you are doing hotpot or regular Chinese cuisine/sushi. But an hour and half is usually the most guest spends here.…

Do they still offer lunch special?

4 pages long in the menu and just had it last week - yup!

Would Q Restaurant take a reservation for 10 on a Saturday night?

They typically only accept walk ins but maybe for large parties they would make an exception

I'm not sure how many there are, but she was Asian with long black hair. Unfortunately, I was having a pretty bad day before heading over, so my attitude was not what it should have been. To my surprise, the hostess didn't retaliate or display any bad attitude toward me, which in turn motivated me to be kinder :) It definitely costs nothing to be kind, and I was definitely grateful that she provided such impeccable service! Great casual spot; prices are fairly reasonable. I'd definitely recommend!

That sealed the deal for Sakabayashi. I have to admit, though: we both got a little sticker shock when we opened the menu. The menu was extensive and everything sounded good, but it took us a while to figure out what we actually wanted to spend. At one point I told my friend, "If you want to leave, it's okay. I won't mind. We can just go." He said, "I'm fine if you're fine." I said, "I'm fine if you're fine." And then we basically just stared at each other and continued struggling with the menu. Eventually, we accepted that dinner was going to be more than $30 and shared the chicken karaage ($10), then each ordered the chef's pick nigiri ($30). The karaage was solid: crispy, yummy, nicely presented, and good with the mayo dipping sauce. But the nigiri made my eyes POP. MAN OH MAN was it FRESH. It was so good. That was basically all I could think about while eating it. I've eaten a lot of sushi in my life, although I still have the palate of a college student...and sometimes the wallet, too. I've definitely had sushi where I've thought, "This tastes like nothing," or "Why isn't the rice seasoned?" or, worse, "This doesn't taste right...I don't think this is very fresh." This was the opposite. The fish actually had flavor. Everything tasted fresh and delicious, and the rice and fish worked together the way good nigiri should. I wish I had slowed down and appreciated each piece more instead of inhaling it. I will absolutely be coming back. Now I know where to go when I'm craving genuinely good-quality sushi and am willing to spend a little more for it. The restaurant itself is classy, bright, neat, and polished without feeling stuffy. It would be a great place to catch up with a friend or for a date night. Although for a date, maybe don't feel bad about splitting the bill. It's the modern era anyway.

On the bright side, the black cod was delicious and easily one of the highlights of my meal! Unfortunately, the overall dining experience didn't quite match the expectations. There are meals you remember because they taste good, and then there are experiences that change…read morethe way you think about food. Three 1 One Omakase was one of those experiences. It introduced me to new textures, flavors, aromas, and, most importantly, a deeper appreciation for the culture behind the food. From the moment we arrived, Chef Wei, his wife Carrie, and the staff made us feel genuinely welcome. The atmosphere felt intimate, as though we had been invited into someone's home rather than a restaurant. Every detail felt intentional, from the minimalist design and calming ambiance to the subtle aromas throughout the space. Learning that Three 1 One was originally a one-bedroom apartment made the experience even more meaningful. The evening reminded me of a trip to Phu Quoc, Vietnam, where local islanders welcomed my fiancé and eight friends into their home to share a meal prepared from that day's catch. Coincidentally, there were ten guests gathered around the counter at Three 1 One, just as there had been ten of us in Vietnam. In both places, strangers came together over exceptional food and genuine hospitality. That feeling stayed with me throughout the evening. My fiancé and I celebrated our 11th anniversary here as we began exploring Michelin-starred restaurants together. After traveling throughout North and South Vietnam, where his family is from, we returned with a renewed appreciation for food and the stories it tells. We were excited to discover such a thoughtful Michelin-starred restaurant so close to home. The 19-course omakase felt like a journey. The opening truffle sea bream with mizuna and sudachi sauce awakened the palate with bright citrus and earthy richness. The Kegani Hokkaido hairy crab with dashi jelly and tomato dashi mousse became my fiancé's favorite. Once mixed together, it was creamy, savory, delicate, and refreshing. His reaction said it all: "Wow." The tako (octopus) with house-made sweet soy sauce highlighted the natural flavor of the seafood beautifully, while the Tokobushi somen with abalone, wheat noodles, yam, okra, and cold dashi became one of my favorite courses. It was refined yet bold, layered with umami, and unexpectedly reminded me of the haenyeo women of Jeju Island, whose tradition of free-diving for seafood gave me an even greater appreciation for the ingredients. Another standout was the Amadai Uroko Yaki (crispy-scale tilefish). The contrast between the crisp scales and tender fish created a texture I'd never experienced before. Along with the abalone course, it was one of the highlights of the evening. The Aji horse mackerel with ginger, chives, sesame, and nori provided a refreshing transition before the sushi. The sushi alone deserves its own review. Every piece reflected remarkable craftsmanship and precision. Watching Chef Wei prepare each bite was part of the experience itself. The rice was beautifully seasoned, and every ingredient felt balanced. My favorite piece was the uni (sea urchin). It was incredibly smooth, rich, and almost buttery. My second favorite was the Hokkaido hotate (scallop), with its delicate smokiness, sweetness, and juicy texture that left me wanting another bite immediately. We also tried selections from the additional menu, along with a pear-toned sake that paired beautifully with the meal. More than anything, what stayed with me wasn't just the food, but the feeling of the evening. It was an experience built around craftsmanship, hospitality, culture, and sharing a meal with others. Thank you to Chef Wei, Carrie, and the entire team for making our 11th anniversary unforgettable and for giving us such a memorable first Michelin-star dining experience. We look forward to returning.
