Much shorter wait than the one in Cambridge (essentially no wait actually on a Friday night), more spacious, and nice and new. Food came out super quickly but was prepared well. Our waitress was very pleasant as well. Menu is on the smaller side but has a good selection, which I prefer. I don't think you can go wrong with anything on the menu, but the braised beef noodle soup is classic. I also tried the osmanthus jasmine milk tea and the brown sugar rice dessert which was a nice addition!

The seaport food game continues to level up. Service is great and the food comes out so quickly. The space is a little odd since it's in the bottom of the Amazon building, but you'll be in and out so quickly it doesn't really matter. The fried mushrooms were my favorite, cucumber salad was nice and refreshing. Lamb shank broth had more flavor to it, but I loved the braised beef as it was so tender and perfectly spicy. I'd love it if the noodles were a little thicker and chewier, but overall a great meal. Will definitely be back!

This location has potential, but needs work. I've been to the original Cambridge location, but this one is rather diminished. I went for the braised beef noodle soup, and they get a decent grade for 2 out of the 3 elements. The soup and noodles were fine, though the soup was quite spicy. The noodles were bouncy and had pretty good texture. The beef was atrocious. Both the beef from this noodle soup and from the Lanzhou beef noodle soup were dry and cooked to crap. It took a while to chew some of that horrendous offering. I notified the waiter at the end of the meal and she appreciated my feedback. Prior to that, I overheard a couple of waiters talk about other patrons complaining about the beef, so it wasn't me. Service was friendly but in need of refinement. They forgot a few requests my dining partner had made. The space is a bit small, with that combination of modern sleekness with "traditional" Chinese looks. It's fine but expect a wait if you have a large group. The restaurant, which is in the Amazon building, has a bathroom just outside the restaurant, though it was in surprisingly bad shape. It's nice to have some affordable dining options in the Seaport, so I hope this one casts off better in the future. Right now, it's behind Yume Ga Arukara by a country mile. I'll stick to the Central Square location for now.

Meh, honestly, which is my usual assessment for restaurants in Seaport. Expectations fell short for this place in particular. Food: 2/5. I went with the tomato egg noodles, as that was one of my favorite childhood dishes. For being the namesake ingredient, the fresh hand-pulled noodles were a disappointment - all clumpy and gummy, a sign of maybe overcrowding in the pot. The dishes do come out crazy fast: not two minutes after the table next to us put in their order, the dishes came out already. I thought wistfully of the Xi'an Famous Foods noodles that I used to eat with abandon. The tomato egg sauce was good but needed some more seasoning. The crispy mushroom bites could have used a longer blot to soak up some of the excess oil. Service: 1/5. The troubles started when my friend got there before I did and they wouldn't seat her until I arrived nor did they take her number down to add to the waitlist (which I've never heard before). Then when I got there, they sat us at a table RIGHT next to someone else even though quite a few other tables for two people were still empty. The finishing touch was when a waitress dropped off the check without a word as she was still eating, with lots of food visibly left in her bowl. No one came by to see how we liked our noodles or if we needed anything else. The vibes were very much "get-in/get-out so we can seat as many tables as possible for the night" but then they shove the option of an 18% gratuity in your face when you sign for the bill. Please, please put up a sign for people to enter through the building lobby rather than tug fruitlessly at the locked doors facing the sidewalk. It's really jarring to be eating your food and look up to find some disgruntled faces wondering why they can't get in. I want to give Lanner the benefit of the doubt because I know they just opened this location and are probably finding their feet but this was one of the most mediocre dining experiences I've had in Boston. The jaded part of me says that this is a trendy spot resting on a spurt in interest from being featured in a bunch of TikTok/IG reels from food influencers but there's very little substance under the hype. Yume Ga Arukara is only a few feet away and we should've gone there instead.

Decent enough for a lunch as someone who works in seaport but would not go out of my way to dine at this location. They have a decent sized dining room for Seaport but if you don't go right at opening on weekdays expect to wait a good amount since this location is close to so many offices. A lot of the dishes here are dry noodles and the two times I've visited I've received lukewarm food. The noodles are bouncy and have a good texture but that's about all I can say. Nothing stood out. The only thing I've eaten here that I've told others about is their cumin lamb skewer. I'd skip this location and head to the original Cambridge location where there's more options if you don't eat red meat and more consistent food and service.

My husband and I visited Lanner Noodles for lunch. The restaurant is located inside a building complex that is shared with a cafe and other buddy. The entrance is very confusing. You have to enter the main building to enter the restaurant although the restaurant has doors that customers can walk into from the street. Even when we were seated, we would watch multiple customers try to gain access through this door and had to be signed language that it was not an entrance but to come around to the next set of doors. For appetizers, we ordered the lamb skewers and the soup dumplings. The lamb skewers were a bit chewy while the soup dumplings tasted like what we paid for, a little soup and a chewy filling. It didn't come with the ginger vinegar dipping sauce that I am used to, however, there is black vinegar on the table that you can add to the soup. Overall, both appetizers were very underwhelming. For the price, I didn't have high expectations. I ordered the lamb shank noodle soup while my husband ordered the braised beef noodle soup. The hand pulled noodles were delicious as were the soup broth. We can watch the noodles being made fresh. The noodles is not thick and chunky as with most hand pulled noodles restaurants that we have tried. It was thinner. Sadly, the lamb shank meat for my soup was also very tough. I took one bite and gave up and did not touch the meat again. I did however finished the noodles and broth. My husband's meat was a bit more tender. There is hot chili oil on the table so that you can add to make your noodles spicier. My highlight during this visit however was the original roasted milk tea. This was served in a teapot. I would come back to try their other teas and noodles. Service was attentive but felt not experienced. We were not giving plates for the shared appetizers. When I asked for small plates, we were provided bowls which felt silly. Overall, it was a good 3.5 stars experience. I would come back to try their noodles and hot teas but I would skip the two appetizers I tried during this visit. See my pictures!

Stopped here while in the city and met some friends. It was a week night and I walked in a couple minutes after they opened. The location was smaller, however there were already a good amount of people in the restaurant. The restaurant has only been open for a little bit of time but they show amazing promise. The staff was incredibly friendly and great at answering any questions. They atmosphere is hip and trendy. The food was very tasty and arrived hot. The kitchen was also very fast moving. The longer we were there, the more the restaurant filled up and the kitchen was able to keep the pace. By the time we left there was a line for people to eat. After eating there, I get why.

Need to join wait list when I got there at 5:15... waited around 20 minutes. The service is fast at the beginning, but it got slower when it comes to serving the noodle soup. Marinated Wood Ear Mushroom ($7) - only can taste spicy, don't have the vinegar taste that I was hopping for Lanzhou Beef Noodle Soup ($15) - no spicy - the noodle was more harder to chew since they are handmade, don't have the soft texture, the soup was savory without the chili oil Briased Beef Noodle Soup ($15) - same has Lanzhou Beef Noodle soup, just the beef was braised in cube Classic Soup Dumpings ($7) - The dumplings are the highlight of the meal, super juicy and flavorful. This will be the only dish that makes it want to come back again. Skin was thin, meat was soft and juicy. Roasted Milk Tea - Black Sesame ($10) - definitely not worth the price, no black sesame and tea flavor

Located in the lobby of an Amazon building, it would be easy to miss if you weren't looking for it. I had high hopes for this place since seaport needs some more affordable eats! They just opened so I think there are some things to be worked out. It's definitely an eat and leave type of place as the servers were really on top of taking your order and getting your check. The lamb noodle soup I got didn't really hit the spot- just kinda lackluster. I got the recommended noodle width and they were quite soggy in the soup. The dry noodles though, was really tasty. The noodles were wider and had a good chew to it! Both dishes were on the salty side and it's apparent by the amount of water they give you. Oh! And the chicken nuggets were surprisingly good. Super light and crispy coating. It has a chili dusting on them but not spicy at all.

If you love hand-pulled noodles and have been struggling to find a favorite in the city - check out lanner noodles bar! The wide noodles with chili oil and braised beef short ribs are easily the best I've had in the Greater Boston area. Chewy, thick, and bouncy - it will for sure fulfill your comfort food craving. The chicken nuggies are a surprise standout I keep ordering again and again. The other noodle dishes are flavorful with rich, comforting broth, though the noodles sometimes stick together. Cukes are ok, Din Tai Fung still beats everyone in the cuke dept. The space is clean and adorable but tiny. Service shines with small groups of 3 or less. Bigger parties can slow things down. Highly recommend!

Garlic chicken skewers

Tasty food for the most part. Garlic chicken skewers had good flavor Sweat and sour short rib is small but pack full of flavor with a hint of vinegar. Kids got the braised beef noodle soup, 2 thumbs up. Pork belly noodles was bland, no flavor there. Beef rib chili oil noodles was really tasty, but you must mix it first. We wished they would have tossed it in the sauce before serving.

The newest addition to our lunch rotation! The noodles at Lanner Noodles are freshly hand made - and you can definitely taste the difference! The braised beef was incredibly flavorful and tender. I also love how you can choose your noodle type when you order. An exciting new addition to the Seaport area!

Love their new location! It's pretty small and feels like it's part of Amazon lowkey though :/ it feels cleaner than the other location. you can join the waitlist online, which is nice! the service is really fast, but the food was not as good as the Cambridge location. everything was overly salty and the noodles were overcooked and mushy. it's a nice place to visit exactly once.

Yume Ga Arukara - Spicy hot udon

Yume Ga Arukara

Waterfront, South Boston

Yume Ga Arukara is great!! It's a relatively small restaurant tucked into Seaport with limited…read moreseating (minimum 1 bowl per customer). Their menu options include a total of 8 udon dishes -- divided into hot and cold udon with spicy or regular broth. I got the hot udon, which was the traditional niku (beef). It was both slightly sweet and savory with a delicious broth and crispy tempura bits. You can see them slice up their homemade noodles in front of you which is super cool! My hubby meanwhile got the signature cold udon--I didn't anticipate the cold udon dish to be this good but it was (unfortunately ate it before I could take a photo). It had even crispier bits since it was broth-less, and had a nice lemony refreshing taste. Both were flavorful!! I think the signature cold udon was even slightly better which I was very surprised by (usually not a fan of cold noodle dishes!)

I also added the onsen egg. My first initial thought: it's warm, soothing and heartwarming. But the more I ate it, it didn't really have much flavor and I don't know if it's because it's chicken based broth. The spiciness also didn't really have much of a kick. And in some bites, I bit into a Szechuan pepper. Not sure what kind of theme they're going for but definitely didn't expect it to have a Szechuan twist. I will say, I very much liked their udon noodles! It was really chewy and soft. I also felt that the onsen egg was slightly too undercooked. I love eggs and I can eat them cooked, runny, etc. but felt like the yolk was so runny it mixed into the soup and didn't really resurface after that. It's a really small shop with bar seating and a few small tables. Expect a wait if you're a big party or quite possibly coming around rush hour. Despite my review, it seems very popular. Service was quick and fast!

My real rating is a 3.5 star review here we go.: Food : 5 Star; I don't think anyone in the Chinatown area can match. The quality of the homemade hand pulled noodle that is served here. The menu was extremely limited to about 10 or 12 dishes. All include hand pulled noodle or homemade hand pressed dumplings. I've been here number of times every dish is delicious. Staff : 5 Star; I want to give a shout out to Kittie who works the counter is extremely polite goes the extra mile and to help the customer. The kitchen seem to be clean, kept and engaged in work. Cleanliness : 2 Star; I might be stretching it to give them a two just simple things like posters in the window have been there for 10 or 20 years soup on the back the trim everything is worn out and looks like it should be thrown away and replaced it needs an updating and a good good good cleaning a deep cleaning. Parking : 2 Star; if you're lucky there are a few meters outside as usual. The parking gods in Chinatown look down upon me and I got a meter half a block away. Otherwise you have to go get the early bird special and pay by the garage which means you're gonna be paying more for the parking than you are for the meal.

I believe the cuisine is from Xi'an, in Western China. They prefer cash, but do accept card online or on the tablets in store. There are a few really solid vegetarian options. I went with the noodle soup. The soup itself is loaded with carrots, onions, bean sprouts, and cilantro. The broth itself is savory, sour, and a bit spicy. The noodles are unlike any I've had -- they're thick and chewy. Overall, delicious and an AMAZING value. My complaints are around the layering -- the veggies were stacked on top and it was hard to mix them in the rest of the soup; a bigger bowl would have fixed this. Definitely check out Gene's.

Pad Thai: Just like at Nine Tastes, my first bite was overwhelmed by the strong sourness... According to ChatGPT, American Southeast Asian restaurants may use concentrated tamarind sauce instead of the original tamarind-infused water, or reduce the sugar to suit American tastes, hence the extra sourness of Pad Thai. Learned something new! The shrimp was very fresh, firm and tender; the rice noodles were stir-fried with a great wok hei 鑊氣(wok aroma), and the portion was huge, but it got a bit oily towards the end. My favorite was the peanuts--they were incredibly fragrant, and not too finely ground, giving them a better texture. Also, a larger plate is really needed; it would be much easier to mix all the ingredients together. Drunken Noodles: The wide flat rice noodles were authentic. The spicy flavor added another layer of wok hei, and the thin layer of chili oil helped retain heat and enhance the aroma. Although a bit spicy, I felt it was the best of the three. Saigon Noodle: It felt like a combination of the two above, with a touch of sweet and sour and a hint of spicy, but neither was particularly prominent. It had a hint of sesame oil, but I personally don't really like sesame oil.
