Came here for a work dinner and had a fantastic time! Delicious cocktails though not the strongest! The food was even better!! Overall we ordered half of duck, pork soup dumplings, ribs, boneless chicken and mapo tofu! My personal standouts were the soup dumplings and chili wontons! Service could have been a little faster / we would have liked them to check on us more but overall the food was delicious and came out fast and we had a great dinner!!!!

We came for a birthday with 9 people. Felix, our waiter, was excellent, patient, and fun. The food was very flavorful and all different. I will say though there was A LOT of garlic and salt so just a disclaimer. We ordered the duck which was sweet goodness. The lamb skewers with the chili spice were delightful especially the torching at the table. The pork and crab soup dumplings were also a highlight. The crab rice was orange with pumpkin puree which was a unique combination that actually worked. The green beans and pea shoots were delicious classics. The fried mushrooms were also a fan favorite. So many good options! The whole meal and experience was wonderful for the celebration.

People kept telling us to give this spot a try! We managed to snag a parking spot right out front and made it in about 1h45 before closing. The space is super cute, fits right in by Boston common. Service was great, staff continually make sure you have what you need and refills water cups! The food i would say gives me a comfort food type vibe. The flavors were clean not heavy on sodium, but the spice level? Nothing was actually spicy, not even a hint (except for the free salad you get to start in hot oil) Beef stir fry with chili - liked this dish, the beef was so tender it was my personal favorite but wish it was spicier like the menu suggested. Not remotely a kick to the lip or a tingle. Stir fried string beans- cooked well again not spicy but gives the salt and pepper style HK flavor profile. Braised pork belly with bamboo shoots, flavor was savory, somewhat sweet but the down side was our braised pork was DRY. We didn't finish that dish. tofu and crab meat- actually really liked this dish, flavor was balanced, creamy, you can taste the crab meat. Soup dumplings crab and pork - we liked this a lot, a friend said one of the best soup dumplings in the city. Broth was tasty, came out hot and the highlight vinegar you typically toss inside it before eating and slurping the soup within, was fantastic. For the cost, i wish the spicy claims were more realistic, i know it's subjective but even our friend who can't handle black pepper said it wasn't spicy haha. And our pork belly was soooo dry it was just tough to eat.

What a fantastic Sunday evening dinner! Service was very quick to get me seated and take my order. Bright dining room with plenty of seating. I ordered the half Peking duck. Let me tell you... the flavor was out of this world! Best I've had. Nicely thin cut strips of duck, with ample crispy skin. The wraps were good and assembling was fun. If you're craving high quality Chinese at this Boston - NYC Transplant - I'd highly recommended JiangNan!

Overall, very impressed with this place! If you want an easy intro into Chinese food, this is a good spot. I'm not sure if it's exactly authentic, since it's definitely on the more upscale side, but the food seemed pretty fresh and was delicious. They're known for their duck, so definitely give it a try! The vibes are nice, with more polished decor and the restaurant was very clean. Great service too. I'd happily come back!

Really amazing Chinese food. The lamb was especially my faite. They also have special drinks like rice, wine, and pineapple beer with just served in a very cute presentation. Highly recommend ordering all their dumplings and wonton. Reservations are highly recommended.

Had some really great food from an event where they ordered from JiangNan. Some highlights: Sauteed Pork Belly with Green Pepper - the pork belly was so nicely thinly sliced with just the right amount of meat and fat. The pepper added a nice freshness to this dish - making it really balanced! Sweet and Sour Pork Tenderloin - these sweet and sour pork strips were nice and meaty with a wonderful sauce very reminiscent of King Do Spare Rib sauce. Mapo Tofu - Wonderfully silky tofu with a nice and flavorful sauce! Eggplant - I LOVE this dish - it's the perfect soft texture packed full of flavor without any bitterness. Perfect on rice! Bacon fried rice - This was pretty good - you could tell it was bacon instead of ham for sure, and I mainly used it as a base for the other dishes. Crispy chicken in blueberry sauce - Never seen this before but it's a take on orange chicken or general gaos since it's crispy and in a sweet and tangy sauce. Besides the actual blueberries in this, I didn't not much blueberry flavor, but it was great nonetheless! Really solid food options with tons of really delicious proteins from this restaurant!

Upscale chinese restaurant. It was easy to get a reservation for 10 people! They paid attention to the interior details and it has a grand vibe when you walk in. The prices are steep as expected compared to the normal restaurants. Service was great and our server gave good recs on what to order and how many dishes to get for a large party. The peking duck was great especially with all the accompaniments - i love their thin wrap a lot! Their braised pork belly was classic as well.

Located on Tremont Street facing the Boston Common, this elegant New York City import with Michelin recognition has earned a local reputation as a destination for Peking duck. So after months of planning, a duck-loving work buddy and I finally invaded it for a Sunday Chinese feast. Cabbage: A small bowl hits the table along with the water glasses with lemon wedges. Raw and simple, with vinegar and chile oil, it's a spicy Sichuan coleslaw of sorts. Pork Belly: An eye-catching cold serving of ten folded-over strips of bacon-like (but uncured) pork belly, each with a cucumber slice in between, minced crushed garlic on top, and a pool of chile oil underneath. Similar tastewise to wontons in chile oil, but with much more pork, and an unbelievable bargain--especially at this swanky establishment-- at $1.50 per piece. String Beans: Perfect texture, tasty minced meat (pork) and spices, along with welcome salt to make them a come-back-to dish. Near-elite to elite. Cumin Lamb: Theatrics at its finest, as this arrives not sizzling, but is ignited at the table to a flaming spectacle. Strong flavors in the cumin and chile pepper treatment, with cilantro, onions, and peppers as complements. Decent lubrication, though not fully sauced. Lamb fairly tender. Well above average. Peking Duck: The signature and must-have item-- available in half or whole portions-- did not disappoint, starting with the presentation on a wooden platter. Breast slices dazzled, beautifully layered like shingles, each with a juicy interior and lightly crisp skin. A few additional extra crisp skins without the meat sat at the edge, ready to be added to the pancakes or (as I did) used as a wrap for duck meat. Pancakes and accoutrements completed the platter. Warnings: 1) what looks like salt is actually sugar, and 2) be extremely careful to remove the paper separators between the pancakes that one could very easily mistake (as I did) for pancakes. All of it was very enjoyable. Near-elite to elite. Salt & Pepper Crispy Duck Bones: I wasn't initially onboard for the $15 duck add-on option, but I'm glad to be talked into it. Another bargain and another tasty bowl. The leftover bones with (some) meat still on them get lightly battered and deep-fried to turn out tasting like a morphing of KFC extra crispy, New England seafood shack fried clams, and Chinese restaurant salt & pepper shrimp. Delicious, with emphasis on the salt. I'm a salt guy, so I loved it, but if that's not your thing, this option isn't for you. Service and atmosphere were both outstanding. They refilled water without having to be asked, and every question was answered. From scanning the menu, you could easily come to the conclusion that it's an overpriced tourist trap, but after the meal I left thinking the opposite-- eager to go back, and not necessarily for just duck.

After countless recommendations from friends to try JiangNan-Boston, we finally decided to make the trip to see what the hype was about! So, I remember walking past one of their locations in NYC actually, a few years ago, but didn't think much of it. They specialize in Chinese fine dining & Peking duck BUT honestly we were not feeling duck so, instead we opted to try a few of their other most popular dishes, including: -pork + crab meat soup dumplings -stir fried string beans w/ minced pork -sautéed tofu w/ crab meat -dong po braised pork belly w/ bamboo shoots -stir fried beef w/ chili peppers -mango pomelo sago OKAY, so if there's anything you MUST order, let it be the pork and crab meat soup dumplings! They're phenomenal! Very soupy, great flavor, & something about the dipping sauce is very unique. I think it maybe had mirin in it? Has sweet notes. (10/10) The stir fried string beans are also sooo good and exactly how I like 'em! Flavorful and cooked perfectly. (10/10) The sautéed tofu + crab meat was okay. I mean, I LIKED IT but it was missing something for me. Dish kind of tasted flat. It was nice to try once but wouldn't get again. (6/10) Now, the dong po braised pork belly is NOT worth getting at all. This one was super disappointing honestly & it was really difficult to try to enjoy this dish because it was INCREDIBLY DRY. The worst dish we ordered. (2/10) Okay, now the stir fried beef... pretty damn good! We really enjoyed this one. Beef was extremely tender & had nice flavor. (8.5/10) Everything was, more or less, delicious. I guess the only additional thing I want to note is that none of the dishes were spicy lol. Our server informed us when we were ordering that the dishes w/ pepper symbols would be pretty spicy but we didn't taste any spiciness at all. And yes, we do have a decent spice tolerance but these dishes tasted like normal non-spicy dishes. Parking: can be tricky but we were able to find street meter parking on Tremont St!

My friends and I had a great experience at JiangNan. I had seen them on tik tok and decided to come in on a rainy day. We had a reservation near the lunch time close & got sat in a pretty empty restaurant. There were few parties that came after us to eat a late lunch/early dinner, but other than that, it was not busy at all. They were set to close in less than an hour before reopening for dinner. We ordered a round of lychee martinis and they were fragrant and sweet, but packed a nice punch. We ordered the wonton in chili sauce, fried tofu, Napa cabbage with pork, half roast duck & the fried bullfrog. Each plate served authentic Chinese food. Some highlights were the duck, napa cabbage & bull frog. We loved how tender the cabbage was with the saltiness of the pork. The duck was extra crispy. The bullfrog was quite unique but a bit spicy! We would all definitely come back or to another location :)

My wife and I stopped by for lunch after visiting the New England Aquarium. I was surprised with a complimentary hot tea that was smooth and delicate. Told my wife it's almost like drinking flowers. Absolutely loved it! We ordered the Peking duck, Mapo Tofu, and seafood fried rice. The Peking duck was definitely the highlight of our meal and it was so delicious that it even came with gold foils! The seafood fried rice was satisfying. My wife enjoyed the Mapo Tofu, but was just ok for me. I'm more of a meat/seafood person. There was plenty of food and we ended up stuffed with leftovers. No room for dessert. A great meal all around. Great service too! The staff worked really well together as a team. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in Boston. 4.5 / 5

Wow. Just wow. I've had my fair share of Chinese banquet food and I can tell you this is amongst the best, if not the best I've had. I ordered delivery from here and straight off the bat could tell this place was high end just from the entremely careful packaging (double wrapped with shrink wrap to ensure no spillage) and black and gold logo'd utensils. Now, onto the food. -listed below are the probably inflated prices from delivery app- Chicken with Chili Oil ($16.95) - Divine. The chicken was boneless and so, so soft and tender. I think it was poached. I don't know how they got it in the shape they did. Flavor was perfect in the chili oil. Truffle Pork Soup Dumplings ($18.95) - Large, juicy, and spectacular. "Last meal on Earth" status good. Green Beans with Minced Pork ($17.95) - Tasty and delicious garlicky green beans with just the right kick. The portions are very generous. The above could have been for two people (or for me, two meals because I want all the leftovers!) and I was starving. Can't speak for the ambience but I'm sure it is wonderful. If you are craving high quality, authentic chinese / Szuchuan / dim sum - definitely go here!

    Do the deliver?

You have to order through 3rd party.

How long do meals/service usually take? I have a reservation for 5, but another event 15 minutes away at 7 and I was wondering if that was enough time.

They do serve fast, especially when they just opened.

Do I need to make a reservation on a weekday?

I would suggest making a reservation if your party is larger than 4.

Do they do catering at all. I am having birthday party for about 20 not too far from the restaurant?

Not sure but try to give them a call and I am sure they can let you know.

Do you need to call and order the Peking Duck ahead of time? I don't see it on the menu

Ate there for dinner last night (a Monday night), did not have to preorder Peking Duck server said that had received a shipment that day after they ran out on Sunday after a very busy weekend.

Today is Friday 10/27 and I've been trying to call them to make a reservation, but their phone is always busy. Is there another way I can make a reservation?

Unfortunately no. My recommendation is well try another restaurant. Also, call the another time for example as soon as they open and give the a complain.

    Reservations on open table?

You can only make reservations on their website, and they require four or more people.

    Is there a dress code?

    No dress code.

    Where can we park?

Boston Common garage is close and an easy walk.

Can I make reservations online for the restaurant or I have to call?

To my knowledge it's just by phone

Shanghai Classic Pork Pan-Fried Buns上海生煎饅頭: I was instantly hooked! It's hard to imagine finding such good pan-fried buns in the US. Almost every table ordered them, so they were all freshly made, piping hot. The bun was made with unleavened dough, making it chewy and refreshing, with a light, crispy bottom--not oily or hard. The meat filling was substantial and tender, with plenty of broth (see picture). It was sweeter than salty, incredibly umami. The chili oil was also very fragrant, and dipping it in Zhenjiang vinegar enhanced the flavor and cut through the greasiness. Shredded Pork & Preserved Vegetable Noodle Soup雪菜肉絲麵: The noodles were thin and round, with a soft, mushy texture. While the noodles were clearly machine-made, this isn't a problem in the Yangtze River Delta region; the issue was likely overcooking. The shredded pork were well-stirred, with tender meat, but the noodles lacked flavor. They had to be eaten with the pickled mustard greens雪菜 to be slightly salty, and the umami flavor was severely diluted. The tableware is all disposable, and tipping is not mandatory. It's quite affordable.

Both Cantonese and Mandarin were seamlessly spoken. Shrimp Rice Roll / Egg: It looked very appealing. However, the soy sauce was ridiculously sweet, much sweeter than in China, completely exceeding the standard "umami and sweet" of the authentic Cantonese cheung fun腸粉 (rice roll) soy sauce. The cheung fun skin was somehow overcooked, so some parts without egg at the bottom were soggy from soaking in the soy sauce, making the whole roll quite greasy. I have to admire my culinary acumen: I managed to preserve most of the skin's basic texture with the extra egg. Fortunately, the shrimp were fresh enough, six in a serving, with a crispy texture. Oh well, since I'm in America, it's tolerable. I must say, I would never have come here specifically for this, never in my life.
