Came to Seaport District of Boston for a conference and found this gem of a restaurant tucked in the center of an upscale plaza, as I was craving some hot soup to stave off the cold misty weather of Boston. Upon arriving, I waited outside for about thirty or so minutes, as the restaurant only holds maybe 10-15 people at a time due to their limited tables and bar. You get to look at the menu while you are in line, and order once you get to the front of the line so that when you are seated your food is soon to come. I got the hot spicy nikutama udon, and I thought that it was great! Noodles had good chew and the meat was delicious. As I was a single diner, I was seated at the bar and got to get a front row view of the kitchen making the food.

I felt like Yume Ga Arukara didn't stand out to me. Not sure if I just ordered the wrong item? I got the hot spicy nikutama udon soup. Nikutama just basically comes with meat. I also added the onsen egg. My first initial thought: it's warm, soothing and heartwarming. But the more I ate it, it didn't really have much flavor and I don't know if it's because it's chicken based broth. The spiciness also didn't really have much of a kick. And in some bites, I bit into a Szechuan pepper. Not sure what kind of theme they're going for but definitely didn't expect it to have a Szechuan twist. I will say, I very much liked their udon noodles! It was really chewy and soft. I also felt that the onsen egg was slightly too undercooked. I love eggs and I can eat them cooked, runny, etc. but felt like the yolk was so runny it mixed into the soup and didn't really resurface after that. It's a really small shop with bar seating and a few small tables. Expect a wait if you're a big party or quite possibly coming around rush hour. Despite my review, it seems very popular. Service was quick and fast!

My friend and I came by on a Friday night around 6 or 7 PM and we probably waited around 20 minutes to get seated. They took our order as we waited in line so it was super quick to get our food ones we were in. We both ordered this cold Niku udon and it was super yummy. It was a generous portion. The beef was well flavored and the crispies were a delight when mixed with the broth. Overall, I think this was worth the hype!

Yume Ga Arukara is great!! It's a relatively small restaurant tucked into Seaport with limited seating (minimum 1 bowl per customer). Their menu options include a total of 8 udon dishes -- divided into hot and cold udon with spicy or regular broth. I got the hot udon, which was the traditional niku (beef). It was both slightly sweet and savory with a delicious broth and crispy tempura bits. You can see them slice up their homemade noodles in front of you which is super cool! My hubby meanwhile got the signature cold udon--I didn't anticipate the cold udon dish to be this good but it was (unfortunately ate it before I could take a photo). It had even crispier bits since it was broth-less, and had a nice lemony refreshing taste. Both were flavorful!! I think the signature cold udon was even slightly better which I was very surprised by (usually not a fan of cold noodle dishes!)

A classic comfort pick for any Bostonian, Yume has consistently been ranked among the best Udon spots in the country. After the change in management however, I think the quality has dropped a slight bit. It's still a good spot I come back to time and time again.

This place single-handedly raised the ceiling for what udon could be for me. The udon is chewy and supple and the broth is flavorful yet still light. And the thin beef slices are truly a star of the show. Each slice is juicy and tender, packed with a slightly sweet flavor. Also, the staff handles the long line very well as we were able to get seated quickly yet did not feel rushed while we were eating. Highly recommend, it could be a life-changing experience!!

First things first - DELICIOUS. My first sip of it and my jaw-dropped. The umami is so intense and literally bursting with flavor. It was a really cold day and this udon really hit the spot. Service was fast and our server was great! I loved the decor, The place probably seats about 10-15 people, just an FYI. My first day touring Boston was met with a few disappointments with the food, but we ended off our day with this udon and it made up for the whole day XD Highlyyy recommend!!!

To say I was disappointed is an understatement. I've had the Cambridge location and this does not match it in any way. The host had a little attitude and didn't feel welcoming at all. She also added on to my order but it was too late. The food was also just not as good as the Cambridge location. I honestly couldn't finish it all, it was not satisfying. The cold noodles didn't have enough tempura and way too much ginger. The spicy hot noodles were fine, better than the cold noodles this time. But I just did not leave satisfied and did not have a good experience with this location.

Great location as it is only a 10 minute walk from the convention hall. Came here for lunch and for a party of 1, there was no wait when I came around noon on a Friday (there was a line when I left). Ordering was quick and easy, and food came out quickly. I gotthe Spicy Cold Niku Udon which hit the spot. The noodles were nice and chewy just the way I like them, and while not spicy enough for me it had a soooo much umami flavor. I would definitely come back when I'm in the area.

When we walked out of Todd Snyder and didn't see a line at Yume, we honestly thought it might be closed. Usually, there's a line, but we lucked out and walked straight in. The space is tight, only four two-seat tables and a handful of counter seats. The kitchen is open which is nice to see them making the noodles by hand. The server was fast, efficient, and friendly. * Hot Niku Udon (10/10): This had a delicious chicken broth with a distinct shrimp flavor thatbut not overwhelming. * Spicy Cold Niku Udon (9/10): The beef was mouth watering. It was a very good bowl of udon, though it could have used more spice since it's ... called spicy. Bathroom review: There is a single unisex bathroom. I appreciate that the door has a clear vacant or occupied sign that changes when you lock it. It was clean enough for such a busy restaurant, and they provide paper hand towels in addition to an air dryer. Also a baby changing station.

Came on a Sunday around 1pm. We waited in line for about 15 minutes before getting seated. While waiting, they give you a menu and you can order so once you're seated the food is ready. Their menu is very small and straightforward. You have the option of getting the udon hot or cold. The portions are pretty large and will fill you up! We got the hot Niku ramen with an egg. The broth was very rich and full of flavor. I was surprised when I saw the krill shrimps in the broth, but I think they really helped to deepen the flavor and add saltiness.

Easily one of my favorite spots in Boston!!! And... the only place I eat cold noodles. Tucked in a corner in a large Seaport complex, this isn't the place for a 2-hour, intimate date, but it's hands down the most delicious spot for udon in Boston. Nuts/Bolts: Seaport parking can be a disaster, and there are just a few metered spots around the complex. No resy capacity, but the tables turnover quickly-- about every 45min. There will always be a line during peak hours, so bring a jacket to stand in the cold. Or, order takeout and enjoy at home! 2 seats/table, 16ish seats total. $14-18/order. The spicy option is rather mild, but watch out for splattering your white shirt if ordering this option Food: If you're indecisive like me, you're in luck; hot vs cold, spicy vs non spicy, meat vs no meat... those are your order options! They're all excellent options, and I dare you to try the cold udon, even on a chilly day. Hand-pulled noodles prepared before your eyes, an incredibly rich broth, everything prepared to order and still out within 5min of an order... Yume pours love into an age-old recipe. Bravo!

Best bowl of UDON I had in my life!!! We waited around 10 minutes for a seat and they took our order while we were waiting so the food was ready when we got seated. The broth was incredible and it came with crunchy toppings and the beef was so rich. The ambiance was casual and cozy. I can't believe it's my first time here! Will definitely be coming back again!!

The toro and foie gras was exactly what they should be: quietly devastating. But surprisingly the dish that stopped the world for me was the duck risotto. Rich, deeply savory, the kind of thing that makes you go quiet mid-bite. I will be back for it. Probably soon. I'm mentally drooling already just thinking about it. Drinks: The wintermelon milk punch clarified cocktail is worth ordering on concept alone and then delivers on execution too. A Sancerre alongside the handrolls? Correct decision, no notes. Service was warm and attentive without hovering. The atmosphere is genuinely inviting. And then there are the Labubu dolls. Rows of them. Overhead. Staring. I have no idea what they're doing there and I respect that no one felt the need to explain it. It works, somehow, in the way that only truly confident restaurants can get away with inexplicable décor choices. One soft critique: the dessert menu felt sparse with a single macaron service. For a kitchen operating at this level, that feels like an unfinished sentence. A meal this considered deserves a proper ending. But make no mistake: Mai is exceptional. The Labubu dolls are watching, and they agree.

The nori was a bit soggy when I got my hand rolls (not inedible but not the best), the fish was fine, everything was fine but a bit salty and not particularly exciting or innovative. I've been to better hand roll places (Mr. Tuna in Portland for example) where the rolls are served immediately which results in a better texture, and the flavors are more innovative and the seafood is more varied. The cocktails had no alcohol that I could detect and were all about $20. Flavors were fine but again not exciting. The wasabi margarita just seemed like a regular margarita to me, but with less tequila than a margarita usually has. I should note that when I visited they were out 50% of the fish options on the menu and 90% of the entrees were also unavailable so I wasn't able to taste as much as I would have liked.

The restaurant focuses mostly on soba or udon noodle dishes with a good selection between hot and cold options. It's not going to be the best udon or soba you've ever had. HOWEVER, I tried the cold ikura & uni cold soba and LOVED it. It's seasonal, so I tried that one out and was extremely surprised about how much I enjoyed the bowl. Not too much soup and the uni didn't completely obliterate when I stirred it up. They do use American wasabi though, and I found it superfluous to the dish and wished it was served on the side. But regardless, despite not having some extremely high quality noodles, the flavor and experience of the bowl itself was super pleasant. I ended up coming back the very next day because I wanted to try their clam soba. The clam soba only comes hot, which is a bit unfortunately because I actually think a cold clam soba with some lemon or yuzu would be phenomenol. I've been seeing recipes for it online so I've been wanting to try it, but their clam soba is a lot more standard and hot. They had a very good amount of clams in it, but I generally like their cold soba better. Still good, but didn't give me that feeling of needing to come back the very next day like I did with the ikura-uni combo. Overall, I'd still come back when I'm in downtown!

XO Seafood Udon: The restaurant specifically labeled it "wok-tossed," and it truly had a wonderful wok-hei鑊氣 (wok aroma), with an irresistible fragrance as soon as it arrived at the table. The XO sauce was extremely rich, sweet and umami, and the udon noodles were soft on the outside and bouncy on the inside; the sauce was glossy, smooth, but not greasy, allowing it to coat the noodles evenly and infuse them with flavor. The shrimp, squid, and scallops were all fresh and large, making for a very satisfying meal. The shrimp, in particular, were coated with a thin layer of starch before being pan-fried, adding layers of texture and locking in the juices. This plate removed the scallions and onions to suit my taste, and if you like spicy food, adding a little chili oil would greatly enhance the flavor. The restaurant had an elegant and refined ambiance, and the service was attentive, making it a very relaxing place.

When I made the reservation online I put that the occasion it was for was my birthday- I notice that most restaurants don't pay attention to this on OpenTable, but Fuji definitely did! We were seated quickly and with no issue at all, despite it being pretty crowded. The vibe was intimate and classy- a great spot for date night, or for dinner with your parents. At our table was a card (in the pictures) which was such a nice touch and was a great start to the meal. Our waitress was awesome, and it seemed like there was a floor manager too that was making sure everyone was happy. It felt like the staff truly cared and wanted to make sure everyone was having a good time and experience. Our waitress checked in on us multiple times, and was very helpful with the menu. Speaking of the menu, I was very pleased to see the amount of vegetarian dishes! You don't see that often at Japanese restaurants! For our appetizers we got the lobster Rangoon and spicy edamame. Technically the tofu is an app but you would never guess that from the portion size. The edamame were outstanding! They were spicy as expected and were so tasty. We demolished the whole bowl. The Rangoons were also amazing- the chunks of lobster were divine. I myself love lobster and crab Rangoons, so a combo?! Amazing. Both the edamame and lobster Rangoons are can't misses. For our entrees/ mains we got the crispy soy noodles, miss Waldorf roll, sweet potato roll, tofu, and fried rice. The miss Waldorf roll is amazing, and I can not wait to go back and get more sushi. Truly the best sushi I have had in boston. There are other upscale sushi restaurants I have been to that charge a pretty penny but taste like grocery store sushi. Fuji is not one of those- it was truly exceptional sushi. The sweet potato roll was also delicious! I am very picky about my sweet potato rolls and had one that I have dreamt about since I had it in 2022. I have finally found a sweet potato roll that matches my standards. The crispy soy noodles were also amazing! They reminded e of one of my favorite restaurants when I was a kid and it filled me with such joy to eat something with that flavor. The serving size was pretty big too, and they were not shy on the shrimp! Note though, they were a tad oily (I added a little bit of soy sauce to balance it out). The fried rice was also very good and tasted like a good bowl of comfort fried rice. My parents ate it with the tofu and liked it! The only dish I would want some change in is the tofu- it wasn't bad but compared to the other dishes it definitely lacked the flavor punch you get in the rest of the dishes. The sauce was okay with it. After dinner our waitress brought a slice of vanilla crepe cake and ice cream! This was such a nice touch and it was SO good!!!!! It was the first time I ever had crepe cake but I loved it! I'm not sure if they have a dessert menu or not (we weren't asked if we wanted to see one) but I would love to go back and get that cake again! Overall I am beyond happy that I picked this spot for my birthday- I had an amazing experience and amazing food. Will definitely be back!

It introduced me to new textures, flavors, aromas, and, most importantly, a deeper appreciation for the culture behind the food. From the moment we arrived, Chef Wei, his wife Carrie, and the staff made us feel genuinely welcome. The atmosphere felt intimate, as though we had been invited into someone's home rather than a restaurant. Every detail felt intentional, from the minimalist design and calming ambiance to the subtle aromas throughout the space. Learning that Three 1 One was originally a one-bedroom apartment made the experience even more meaningful. The evening reminded me of a trip to Phu Quoc, Vietnam, where local islanders welcomed my fiancé and eight friends into their home to share a meal prepared from that day's catch. Coincidentally, there were ten guests gathered around the counter at Three 1 One, just as there had been ten of us in Vietnam. In both places, strangers came together over exceptional food and genuine hospitality. That feeling stayed with me throughout the evening. My fiancé and I celebrated our 11th anniversary here as we began exploring Michelin-starred restaurants together. After traveling throughout North and South Vietnam, where his family is from, we returned with a renewed appreciation for food and the stories it tells. We were excited to discover such a thoughtful Michelin-starred restaurant so close to home. The 19-course omakase felt like a journey. The opening truffle sea bream with mizuna and sudachi sauce awakened the palate with bright citrus and earthy richness. The Kegani Hokkaido hairy crab with dashi jelly and tomato dashi mousse became my fiancé's favorite. Once mixed together, it was creamy, savory, delicate, and refreshing. His reaction said it all: "Wow." The tako (octopus) with house-made sweet soy sauce highlighted the natural flavor of the seafood beautifully, while the Tokobushi somen with abalone, wheat noodles, yam, okra, and cold dashi became one of my favorite courses. It was refined yet bold, layered with umami, and unexpectedly reminded me of the haenyeo women of Jeju Island, whose tradition of free-diving for seafood gave me an even greater appreciation for the ingredients. Another standout was the Amadai Uroko Yaki (crispy-scale tilefish). The contrast between the crisp scales and tender fish created a texture I'd never experienced before. Along with the abalone course, it was one of the highlights of the evening. The Aji horse mackerel with ginger, chives, sesame, and nori provided a refreshing transition before the sushi. The sushi alone deserves its own review. Every piece reflected remarkable craftsmanship and precision. Watching Chef Wei prepare each bite was part of the experience itself. The rice was beautifully seasoned, and every ingredient felt balanced. My favorite piece was the uni (sea urchin). It was incredibly smooth, rich, and almost buttery. My second favorite was the Hokkaido hotate (scallop), with its delicate smokiness, sweetness, and juicy texture that left me wanting another bite immediately. We also tried selections from the additional menu, along with a pear-toned sake that paired beautifully with the meal. More than anything, what stayed with me wasn't just the food, but the feeling of the evening. It was an experience built around craftsmanship, hospitality, culture, and sharing a meal with others. Thank you to Chef Wei, Carrie, and the entire team for making our 11th anniversary unforgettable and for giving us such a memorable first Michelin-star dining experience. We look forward to returning.
