The udon was absolutely delicious... I gave it five out of five without hesitation after just one bite. XO Seafood Udon: The restaurant specifically labeled it "wok-tossed," and it truly had a wonderful wok-hei鑊氣 (wok aroma), with an irresistible fragrance as soon as it arrived at the table. The XO sauce was extremely rich, sweet and umami, and the udon noodles were soft on the outside and bouncy on the inside; the sauce was glossy, smooth, but not greasy, allowing it to coat the noodles evenly and infuse them with flavor. The shrimp, squid, and scallops were all fresh and large, making for a very satisfying meal. The shrimp, in particular, were coated with a thin layer of starch before being pan-fried, adding layers of texture and locking in the juices. This plate removed the scallions and onions to suit my taste, and if you like spicy food, adding a little chili oil would greatly enhance the flavor. WOW! An awesome experience!!! I went here for my birthday with my parents and boyfriend, and this had been on my want to go list for years, and I am so glad I can finally cross it off! When I made the reservation online I put that the occasion it was for was my birthday- I notice that most restaurants don't pay attention to this on OpenTable, but Fuji definitely did! We were seated quickly and with no issue at all, despite it being pretty crowded. The vibe was intimate and classy- a great spot for date night, or for dinner with your parents. At our table was a card (in the pictures) which was such a nice touch and was a great start to the meal. Our waitress was awesome, and it seemed like there was a floor manager too that was making sure everyone was happy. It felt like the staff truly cared and wanted to make sure everyone was having a good time and experience. Our waitress checked in on us multiple times, and was very helpful with the menu. Speaking of the menu, I was very pleased to see the amount of vegetarian dishes! You don't see that often at Japanese restaurants! For our appetizers we got the lobster Rangoon and spicy edamame. Technically the tofu is an app but you would never guess that from the portion size. The edamame were outstanding! They were spicy as expected and were so tasty. We demolished the whole bowl. The Rangoons were also amazing- the chunks of lobster were divine. I myself love lobster and crab Rangoons, so a combo?! Amazing. Both the edamame and lobster Rangoons are can't misses. For our entrees/ mains we got the crispy soy noodles, miss Waldorf roll, sweet potato roll, tofu, and fried rice. The miss Waldorf roll is amazing, and I can not wait to go back and get more sushi. Truly the best sushi I have had in boston. There are other upscale sushi restaurants I have been to that charge a pretty penny but taste like grocery store sushi. Fuji is not one of those- it was truly exceptional sushi. The sweet potato roll was also delicious! I am very picky about my sweet potato rolls and had one that I have dreamt about since I had it in 2022. I have finally found a sweet potato roll that matches my standards. The crispy soy noodles were also amazing! They reminded e of one of my favorite restaurants when I was a kid and it filled me with such joy to eat something with that flavor. The serving size was pretty big too, and they were not shy on the shrimp! Note though, they were a tad oily (I added a little bit of soy sauce to balance it out). The fried rice was also very good and tasted like a good bowl of comfort fried rice. My parents ate it with the tofu and liked it! The only dish I would want some change in is the tofu- it wasn't bad but compared to the other dishes it definitely lacked the flavor punch you get in the rest of the dishes. The sauce was okay with it. After dinner our waitress brought a slice of vanilla crepe cake and ice cream! This was such a nice touch and it was SO good!!!!! It was the first time I ever had crepe cake but I loved it! I'm not sure if they have a dessert menu or not (we weren't asked if we wanted to see one) but I would love to go back and get that cake again! High-key obsessed with this place and obsessed with the giant sushi boat we got. This was definitely my favorite place I ate at during my short week in Boston. We had a reservation and was promptly seated. The menu is kinda big and a little overwhelming but my friends and I knew we were gonna get a boat. We originally was going to get the medium boat but we opted for the big boat. Just fyi - the prices on the website is not accurate. They don't have a mocktail menu but they'll turn their cocktails into mocktails and I would definitely recommend. I think I got some lychee drink and it was delicious. Had dinner here on a weekday night with our two kids, the service is very good. The setting is very family friendly as well as nice for adults. The sushi is top-notch. For our final stop in Boston, we set our hearts out on a Japanese restaurant and ended up at Fuji at Ink Block. Based on the high ratings and their very attractive menu, we just knew we had to stop by. Starting off with a couple of appetizers, the Lobster Rangoon was spectacular. These little parcels were jam-packed with cream cheese and lobster. A great spin on your typical crab rangoon. We also wanted to try their Satay Chicken Lettuce Wraps. The chicken was very well marinated and incredibly tender. This would have been a great main entree. For the main course, I wanted to try as many different types as possible of fish the restaurant offered so I opted in for their Fuji Don. This included tuna, tuna toro, salmon, seared salmon toro, sea urchin, eel, seared scallop, seared sweet shrimp, and micro greens over a bed of sushi rice and arugula. Each piece of fish was at its optimum quality. This was a phenomenal dish, and I was absolutely floored with the presentation. For my final bite, I saw under their "The Finer Nigiri" there were several choices. I was told the Black Truffle Foie Gras was very popular, and my mind was made up. This came in one of the best presentations I've seen. It came encased under a glass dome with smoke. The server removed the dome, and the smoke slowly dissipated revealing the two pieces of nigiri underneath. Once again, my jaw was on the ground. At roughly $30 for these two pieces of sushi, they were stunning. Overall, I had a great experience here at Fuji at Ink Block and would highly recommend it to any traveler or Bostonian. I can't wait to return once I'm in the area again to try their other items. 10/10 read more

I ordered takeout while staying for a work trip in Boston. I got the Vegetarian delight (tofu, lotus root, celery, carrots, mushroom, asparagus, snow peas, etc), miso soup, and white rice. The dish was really good, I got it extra spicy. It had just enough sauce to coat my rice and veggies. I could have used more tofu, I only had about 4 large pieces. I would order extra tofu next time. Fuji is one of those restaurants where you can go with a big party or with just one other person, whether it's a casual dinner or there's something to celebrate. Their service and quality of food has not changed throughout the years. This location is a little more upscale than the other Fuji locations in my opinion, I love the decor and ambience. My experience with Cindy was great when I last visited. She was very informative and attentive. Super friendly. It was a busy night but she made sure to check in on us multiple times to ensure our food and drinks were good. We ordered a boat and it was able to feed the six of us. There was a selection of different sashimi cuts with a variety of nigiris and a few makis. Everything tasted fresh and butter. Drinks were also great! This is by far one of the best cocktails I've ever had. Not only was it super light, fragrant, and refreshing, the flavors of the lychee, strawberry, and lemon did not clash one bit. It was superb - a must-order! The Seaweed Salad portion was generous and also tasted extremely fresh. This is a must-have on the table when I'm having sushi. The Sweet Beef Teriyaki was pretty decent; sweet, savory, and most bites were tender. I almost wish some bites had a char on them like you would expect with teriyaki-style cooking. Still great, nonetheless. Now onto the sushi! Each and every sushi roll literally melted in my mouth. These rolls had a combination of incredibly fresh fish, balanced flavors, and perfect textures. Each bite was a work of art. Miss Waldorf was my favorite with Prism Dream being a close second. Dear Hyung was also super tasty but had some slight fishiness from the unagi. And you can't go wrong with the Rainbow Roll. Each roll comes with 6 pieces which I thought wouldn't be enough but each piece is massive. It was more than enough food - we were stuffed! Excellent last minute dinner here. The ambiance inside is very comfortable and classy, love the seats and the color theme throughout the restaurant. The cocktails are delicious and inventive with seasonal options. The service was stellar and understanding of my finned fish allergy. We enjoyed edamame as an appetizer and several nigiri with some very fresh shellfish. My wife enjoyed the Open Face Maki, which was very filling for one so two could easily split with other Nigiri or Sashimi and apps. I also enjoyed the XO beef udon noodles. The individual nigiri were about the size of my pinky finger. 10 pieces advertised, but they come in pairs! Two pinky-sized basic tuna nigiri, two salmon, etc. Nobody pays $60 to get the same sushi they can get at a gas station, but smaller. Absolutely infuriating and emblematic of the appetizers as well. Miso soup was watered down version of takeout sushi. Tempura vegetables included an untrimmed asparagus stalk you could break a tooth on. I will never be back and I will be evangelical about telling others to avoid. read more

First off, I have to say the staff was so incredibly accommodating! We were coming into town for a conference and the number of attendees kept changing up until the last minute. Hugo and Austin were unbelievably gracious with the changes and utterly unflappable. When we arrived, everything was set up for us to be seated right away. The waiter Andrew was excellent as well. He was very thorough with explaining the menu to us and made sure any questions were answered. Our party all ordered drinks and everyone said they were delicious. I forget what mine was named, but it was their take on a lychee martini, it was divine! The only glitch in the night was that another diner and I ordered the same dish, and Andrew mistakenly thought we had ordered one to share, so I didn't get an entree. I just changed my order at the last minute to something I thought would be quicker to make so as not to hold up dinner for everyone. I was able to try some of the sashimi though, and it was amazing. the guru decided to try a sushi place still hungry for fresh fish. You the yelpers said this one is good. No question everything was very fresh but when I went to order some sashimi I noticed $3 extra was on my bill. Apparently I had neglected to read the fine print that said if I order sashimi style instead of nigiri style I would be charged $3 extra. That's a first for me. I don't think I've ever seen that done in all the sushi places I have been to. The other big issue was the service. I sat at the bar because I wanted a nice drink to go with my meal. Unfortunately the bartender kept leaving the bar. I've never seen that either. The bartender was away long enough that someone else had to cover. That's a problem. despite leaving with a bitter taste in my mouth I do have to say overall it was ok. The various sushi they did offer were not very appealing. Clearly the chef is trying way too hard to impress with expensive ingredients. Just because something is expensive doesn't necessarily mean it's going to be spectacular. Now I do applaud them for knowing exactly which fish came from where but I think they are missing a golden opportunity to offer more locally caught and sustainably sourced fish. It's Boston. You're right by the waterfront. Why not offer something from there? In the end I had an ok experience overall. 4 stars. read more

When we first walked in the atmosphere led be to believe this may not be the right place for a family, and while I did not see many children there, we were graciously welcomed (our party had 3 younger kids.). Our waitress was so kind, helpful, and welcoming. The meal was superb. Absolutely one of the best sushi places I've ever had. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals, including the kids who all had either sushi or fried rice. There are not kid sizes, but the fried rice one of the kids had was something the rest of us all shared a bit of, so it worked out fine. I highly recommend this place! read more

Food tasted fine, but the price was extremely expensive. Their tempura is a bit different, the batter is not your traditional Japanese tempura breading. It's more like those Korean panko on the outside. It's a bit too oily for my liking. Sushi deluxe is overpriced, the fish were all just basic fish, nothing fancy. Their special truffle tuna roll was just ok, nothing to write home about. Overall, an ok dinner with extremely high bill. Not coming back for sure. read more

Our sushi boat was $65, which felt a little steep for 24 pieces. Nevertheless, the food was incredibly tasty. The fish was all fresh and many levels above your typical sushi buffet quality fish. I ordered the strawberry paloma mixed drink and felt it a bit strong for my liking (but I also think Mike's hard lemonade is strong so keep that in mind ;p).
