The beef was supposed to be crispy beef, however came drowning in sauce hence not crispy or any orange flavor. So this will ultimately be a fail. Came here for a late night dinner on a Saturday night. The restaurant itself is very an assuming as you have to walk down stairs to find it. The food reminded of our favorite chinese restaurant back in Milwaukee but with more seafood options since Boston has the ocean. The food was solid, nothing to salty or fishy. Everything cooked to perfection with a touch of freshness. The server were nice to us & efficient. I saw the rewards by the door and matt damon reviewed the spot in 2004 for its ginger scallion lobster so glad it was the best in town! Service was your typical, fast paced busy waitress vibe. Some of the ladies speak english a little better than others but overall everyone worked efficiently and were kind. From the outside, it may not look like a "good" place but every dish we got was 10/10. If I had to choose my top choice, it would be the scallops I believe one order comes with two It looks very bland bc there's no color but PLEASE try it! it has tons of flavor and taste super fresh. The fried pork chops was super crispy on the outside but juicy on the inside. It looked dry but no very easy to bit and juicy. The black bean clams was also another hit. Peach farm is a casual restaurant with lazy susan rotating table that makes accessing food easy for everyone! Our table seated 7 people for reference. Service was alright; the servers can come off a bit aggressive and demanding, but everything came out on time and nothing went wrong. Standout items were the pork chop and duck dishes! The pork chops were seasoned well and had good texture, making it my favorite dish of the night. The duck was a close second with its soft, juicy texture and sweet and salty marinade. The dessert was some sort of soup with sago, taro chunks, and squash(?) chunks that was super tasty and came out warm, which is nice with the falling temperature these days. read more

Where do I even begin with Peach Farm? We've been here several times, and I was surprised to realize I hadn't written a review yet--it's long overdue. We recently visited to meet up with family from the city. After heading downstairs to the basement-level dining area, we were warmly greeted by the hostess and promptly seated. A pot of tea arrived quickly, giving us just enough time to start debating what to order (always the toughest part!). Our go-to starter is the chicken fingers for the kids--it's a must every time. From there, we ordered a spread that included Shrimp with Mayo, Malaysian Tofu, Beef with String Beans, Crispy Fried Chicken, Sweet and Sour Pork, Stir-Fried Pea Pod Stems, Salt and Pepper Calamari and Pork, and Crispy Tofu with Shrimp. As always, the food came out hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious. The flavors were spot-on, and everything was cooked perfectly. Our server was attentive, friendly, and more than accommodating throughout the meal. If you're in the area and craving authentic, traditional Chinese food, Peach Farm never disappoints. To start off, the food itself wasn't bad. This was truly a horrible experience however. I never write reviews but this warrants it. My girlfriends sister and mom were visiting from out of state so I wanted to go somewhere recommended, I'd seen TikTok's raving about Peach Farm's peeking duck. Being a big fan of fried and roasted duck I wanted to give it a try for the first time and for a good occasion. The staff appeared disorganized from the moment we entered the door, they did not take my name, number or give any indication of how long the wait would be until I got up and asked, it ended up being only about 5 minutes luckily. The restaurant was extremely loud. Immediately our waitress was very agressive in asking what we wanted and did not show any interest in pleasantries. I ordered the peeking duck for my girlfriend and I and her sister and mom ordered fried rice and sesame chicken. The waitress told us the duck would be 10 minutes, we agreed although that seemed very unrealistic we assumed she meant more than the rest of the food. The first waitress did not return until the end if our meal which I will get to. The rice and chicken came out quickly and we're actually pretty good, my girlfriend and I began trying some after we had been waiting for our food for quite a while, more than 20 minutes after ordering, I've worked in restaurants so I know sometimes mistakes happen. I explained the situation to a different server who stopped by and she said she would check in it, she came back and said it would be another 10 Minutes, not what we were told but it sounded off to begin with, okay. 10 more minutes go by and the chicken is gone, rice has gone cold. I check with the same server who appears to be a manager of sorts she tells us 5 more minutes. Eventually a duck does come out and it's not the peeking duck but I don't mention it because at this point we'd gotten the rice and chicken 25/30 minutes prior. My girlfriend and I take a few pieces of the roasted duck which I notice has the bone in and confirms to me that it's definitely not the right dish. If you read nothing else read this part, I kid you not: I lift the first piece with my chopsticks when the original server comes back and says "NO NO NO THATS WRONG" takes the piece from my USED chopsticks with a fork and begins placing them back on the serving dish. We're all shocked and confused, I'd never experienced something like this. They take the dish away, another server says the wrong dish was brought by mistake and the peeking duck would be out in another 5 minutes.... At this point it's clear that the order was not began the first or second time it was mentioned and I get up and let them know we'll take the check and cancel the duck which they argue on behalf of us waiting on, they did not offer any discount, alternative, anything, which is fine because I wanted to leave and won't be returning. With all the newer restaurants opening up more closer by, I don't go out to Chinatown as much as I used to, to eat Chinese food, HOWEVER, Peach Farm is a classic at this point & is still very yummy! My cousin and I stopped at this restaurant late in the evening after going to a basketball game. The service was cordial and efficient. The food came out quickly. And our server was attentive to our needs. For food, we ordered the fried squid with salt and jalapeño peppers, Hot and sour soup, and beef chow fun. All of them were delicious. Small understated joint with an emphasis on seafood. After years of wanting to try it, finally hit this bucket list joint and I'm kicking myself for not going sooner. Wings: Jumbo whole wings (connected), extra crispy, extra juicy, extra loaded with herbs and spices. Although I wondered how spectacular they'd be if they had a glaze, they really didn't need one. A flavor and textural triumph. Scallion Pancake: Thin, crisp, fairly ordinary, but with very good ginger sauce. Good cling, slightly thicker than usual, good ginger content. Sizzling Flounder: This dish didn't present much volume, but well composed, tender of fish, well complemented by the rustic-cut vegetables (mostly onion and pepper), and coated with a black bean sauce that supported rather than dominated. No glop here. I'd get this again. Crispy Fried Roast Duck: Got the small order and it's still huge. More importantly, the duck was very crisp of skin and as juicy and succulent as can be. Simple, thin topping (more of a light squirting) of mostly soy sauce that gave it just a little extra rather than dominating. Very nicely done indeed. Not only would I get it again, I'd have a hard time not getting it every time. Broccoli in Oyster Sauce: Large pieces either thick stalks and flowery leaves intact. Again, more of a light sprinkling of sauce rather than a thick, voluminous sauce. In this dish I think more and thicker would be better, but still well cooked to bright green, keeping the crunch alive. Service: Not enough servers to adequately handle the room. Try the salted egg soft shell crab (deep fried) & Toisan stir fry. Always get string beans because the wok hey makes the difference from yum to wow. The tofu topped with shrimp is too much trouble to make at home so it's another go-to. An authentic Cantonese meal that ends with hot tapioca & taro sweet dessert soup. Servers are friendly and helpful and speak Cantonese, mostly. The location is a lower level so there's no natural light. I've heard so many good things on Tiktok of all places recently about this Chinatown staple and never having gone in all the years I worked in Chinatown, decided to give it a shot. Well this is definitely one of those cases where the hype doesn't match the experience. I got the shrimp with mayo and the salt and pepper squid, both from their list of specialties on the front page of their menu. These are two dishes I grew up eating and to say they were disappointing was an understatement. The shrimp, while large and plump, were totally lacking in flavor. I don't think they seasoned them at all before or after frying, simply tossing them in the sweet mayo sauce which did not have enough salt to make up for the dearth of it in the shrimp. The saving grace for this dish was the broccoli that came on the side, which was well-cooked and tossed in the standard Cantonese white sauce. The squid meanwhile were nicely seasoned and decently tender but weren't cleaned properly, so some pieces had an unpleasant taste to them that made me gag. The portion sizes are pretty decent though. I didn't end up finishing either dish but didn't want to take the leftovers to go either. Service was pretty standard for Chinatown. Your waiter will be around but don't expect them to always notice when you need something. The atmosphere is nice in a totally old-school Chinatown way. You're literally eating in a big basement room with giant tables full of old Chinese men. I'm glad to have tried this place once but won't be back. read more

I want to begin this review by stating that my family always tips over 20% and in cash. This was the worst service I have had. I wanted to bring my parents to a more authentic Chinese restaurant and we're initially greeted very pleasantly by the hostess. Our waitress had an attitude with us the whole time and we're were one of two families eating there. She would not attend to us, walked away when my mother was asking questions and considering her options, and the waitress SLEPT. she was literally sleeping while she was supposed to be attending to us. We were getting the vibe that she must have been racists towards Hispanics. This was the first time we did not want to tip and when we paid the check and started leaving we were HOUNDED to tip. SHE WAS SLEEPING! They even told us exactly how much to tip when the other waitress wasn't satisfied with how much we were giving. We left feeling discriminated against. Woahhhhhhh the food here is so good and comforting! It's nestled in the center of Chinatown, so parking can be a hassle when dining here. We came during lunch hours and it wasn't busy at all. Lots of seating and larger tables available for family dinners. Very family friendly. To me, the restaurant has a very welcoming and homey vibe. I will never say no to a no-frills, old-school Canto seafood place. My partner and I came for dinner on a Friday night around peak dinner hours. The place was packed but we were surprisingly seated after a short 10-15 minute wait. We ordered a seafood soup, pan fried noodles with seafood, and the signature sauteed oysters. Everything came out within minutes and was served piping hot. Major green flag. I think we could've been a little more experimental with what we ordered--the starchy, Cantonese-style seafood soup and crispy seafood noodles are all dishes we could easily find in Southern California, where we were visiting from. That being said, both dishes were substantial in portion, well-seasoned, and excellently prepared. The textures, flavors, etc. were all right. I think the standout dish of the night were the sauteed oysters, which came on a bed of onions and green onions. I think there were maybe 4-5 oysters in total, but they were quite large--maybe the size of an egg. Despite their size, they were super tender, briny, and creamy with a nice char from the wok. Between the two of us, we spent 80 dollars including tip, which was a little on the pricier side. The fried squab was perfect and with a squeeze of lemon and a sprinkle of five spice powder mixed with salt is perfection! I'm not a fan of gamey meats, and I still eat this! The salt & pepper calamari is always my go-to because I love salty, spicy, fried goodness and this is hard to replicate at home because of the wok-hey My family loves a good eel dish and this eel was flavorful and cooked well. The presentation was good too, but the only thing is my family didn't care for the sweetness. They must have added oyster sauce or sugar to the sauce. My family typically doesn't make eel with anything "sweet". The fried tofu with shrimp on top is really good too. The tofu is fried to perfection and the inside is still silky smooth. I used it to pick up food for mothers day and it make life so much easier. The money goes straight to the restaurant. Menu is in both English and Chinese so you got so much to pick from. Here is what I ordered this time around and my thoughts: Salt and Pepper Soft Shell Crabs - It's really good. It's fried with the same seasoning you get from the Spicy Dry Fried Salted Squid. Slightly on the spicy side crunchy from the deep fried so it's perfect for me. Currently a seasonal special which made me tried it. Lobster with Ginger and Scallions - For an additional cost, they will add an additional lobster. Perfect way to have a Cantonese preparation for lobster. It's one of their specials here at this restaurant so it's a must get. It's stir fried with ginger and scallions, lobster cut to bit size pieces, and just coated with this delicious sauce. Crispy Fried Chicken - Exactly what it sound like. It's not deep fried so don't expect a heavy batter. It's one of the safest things you can order because who doesn't like fried chicken. I got a half size (half a chicken) but you can get a full bird too. Stir Fried Watercress - It's one of my favorite Veggies here and usually debate between this this or Stir Fried Pea Pods. Got to get some veggies, right? Salted Fish & Chicken Fried Rice - Very umami from the salted fish. Not your usual fried rice but I find this way tastier. Beef, Peppers, Onions, Black Bean Sauce with Foon - Very delicious and safe dish. The Foon noodles is thickier so it takes on the seasoning well. It's beefy and slighly oiler so eat it fast before it gets cold. Other recommendation that I usually get but not this time: Spicy Dry Fried Salted Squid (Spicy) or Spicy Salted Shrimp, Pork Chop & Squid (Spicy) is one of the must get dishes here. It's so good. It's deep fried and coated with salt & peppers (imagine chilis). Shrimp and Mayo is a crowded favorite!!! Usually have pineapples with it so it's slightly sweet and tropical. I definitely need to order seafood next time, since that's what they're known for. If you get the won ton soup for the table, they will portion it out for you. BOTTOM LINE...TASTELESS..Food lukewarm..vegetables in shrimp dish way overcooked..all soggy./mush..Soup tasted like warm garlic water..couldn't eat it..smelled sour..Side of beef strips crusty & tough with wilted peapods..uneatable..peking dumplings--overcooked in dark brown thick dough-& hard edged...Some of the worst quality food I ever ordered. I did not want to eat it..Afraid of getting sick.. And food was expensive.. not fresh Food..En-even cooking..Was told they ask you before leaving to pay a bigger tip in cash..Terrible experience..Would never recommend..Planned to call manager Tom next day about this poor quality food in the MORNING..Called three different times & told he wasn't in yet and couldn't give me a time frame..Exhausted I gave up...even though I was told the evening before Tom would be in around 10AM.!!!!!!! read more
