The seating is mostly tables and there were also a few people at the bar who seemed to be waiting for tables. We got the following: peruvian sunkiss, tahini colada, bossa nova, pal viper, bocadillo sour. The peruvian sunkiss was so refreshing. The Tahini colada was non-alcoholic and my friend really enjoyed it. Didn't get to taste the other drinks but everyone at our table enjoyed them! My daughter's friend recommended this restaurant to her. We got a reservation for a party of 6 tonight. Our server was attentive and replenished our water for the table as soon as they were empty without our even asking. Food 5/5: every dish we ordered represented Sichuan flavors well, especially the spiciness of it! Our favorites were the eggplant with spicy garlic sauce, with the chengdu dry hot chicken and the string beans. The braised beef with Napa cabbage and mapo tofu were also delicious. Ambience 3/5: super loud. It wasn't even the music, it was that people's conversations were bouncing off the walls in a small space such that it was not possible to hear the other people in my group except who I was sitting next to. I've enjoyed coming here for years, and it's always good and often great...but, something has surely changed and doubt I'll be returning any time soon. I read somewhere that they changed over their staff and completely obliterated their previous (awesome!) cocktail program. Our server confirmed that last November they started a new cocktail menu. We ordered our standard Trader Vic's Mai Tai (not listed on the new menu) and sent it back as it was undrinkable--super sweet with an off-putting after taste. And the interior has changed, too. Lights in the dining room are much brighter, the inclusive flag is no longer in the front window, and the funky art in the bathrooms is gone. The management or something else is definitely different. The food was hit or miss. The sauce was overly thickened glop in both the chicken with garlic and the peppercorn beef special. Saving grace was our server who was apologetic and helpful. read more

Service was great; we had two different servers come check on us regularly without making it feel stuffy. Super friendly, efficient, and easy to talk to. Food: -Dan Dan Noodles, 7/10: Not bad, but not a standout. The noodles are reminiscent of linguine noodles and aren't dry. The flavor could've been a bit stronger. -Eggplant, 9.8/10: Best Chinese eggplant I've had! TONS of meat on top to the point where you don't see the eggplant, flavorful, stayed warm for a while, large chunks of eggplant. Only downside was the eggplant wasn't chopped into smaller pieces so you either have to cut it yourself or bite pieces off, which can be messy with all the sauce. -Mapo Tofu, 6.5/10: Tofu wasn't the silken tofu kind that I personally enjoy more, it was the tougher type. Flavor was more subtle tha desired and there was virtually no spice. I've been here before for drinks and remember them being good/unique! Will be back to try more drinks next time :) read more

My friends and I came here for a round of drinks after dinner. One had heard that they were particularly good so we were excited when we were able to get a table right away without reservations. We got their Costa nuestra and tito puente. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with the preparation of the drinks. I was so excited to finally dine at Blossom Bar as I've heard rave reviews about it. I made a reservation for a date night and was seated promptly. The decor is modern and moody with some fun tropical accents added in. The drink menu is expansive but I was finally able to settle on the Bomba Estereo. It was dangerously good and I had to make a conscious effort to take my time drinking it. I would love to try more of the drink menu as there are a lot of experimental and unique cocktails. For the food, we decided to go with the dan dan noodles, Chengdu dry hot chicken, dong po boneless ribs, and prosperity noodles with beef. We also decided to get a side of white rice to share to offset the spice (which ended up being a smart decision). The food was AMAZING and addictively spicy. My personal favorite was the Chengdu hot dry chicken but all of it was great and I would not hesitate to order any of the dishes again. Found this place on tiktok and we traveled out of the city a bit to come here. It was overall ok - I was definitely more excited and feel like it wasn't as authentic as I was hoping. Portions sizes are huge but flavors overall not so great in my opinion. The drinks looked pretty but didn't taste all that amazing. There was something in the chicken that left a weird tingly feeling in your mouth afterwards. The service was fine - our server did look a little annoyed but overall fine. It was pretty busy when we got there in terms of tables being full. I think I just expected more of a local spot but overall wasn't entirely bad but wouldn't say this is a must in Boston. Veggie lo mein was good, but nothing special. We were told green beans were an entree/large plate, except it was literally just like a bunch of roasted green beans on a plate. That's it. I don't consider a massive pile of green beans dinner, personally, but it was delicious. Scallion pancakes were 9/10, very good. Would consider ordering just these in the future. Hostess shuffles you into a side window bay to wait even though you said you wanted to order drinks at bar. No queuing up to the bar apparently and bartenders only pay attention to bar stool seated customers. Perhaps the physical entrance is right into the bar stools and hostess stand that causes the problem. But too darn bad, have an apologetic and happy attitude. Note to bartenders and hostess: Shoving customers aside who are waiting is rude and never acceptable. Place itself is decent decor and nice cooking smells greet you. Prices are okay too. If they practiced their greeting hospitality at door and bar the review would be higher. A lot more practice, not just a little. read more

This place is pretty popular on Friday night. Even though it's a Chinese restaurant, I barely see any Chinese here. The tables are reasonably spaced. But it would still get a bit noisy to talk when the restaurant is full with people. I tried 双冬素鸭 STUFFED TOFU CREPE W/ SHIITAKE MUSHROOM AND BAMBOO SHOOTS. I really like this dish and I would definitely order it again. The 鱼香茄子 EGGPLANT W/ SPICY GARLIC SAUCE is not bad and they added ear mushroom there too. But it's not salty enough to eat with rice. Visited Blossom bar on a weekday night (Wednesday) and it wasn't too busy. My friend and I chose to sit at the bar, which was fun because we watched the bar tender make our drinks. I tried the Angie Valencia which was sooo good! The bar tender literally pulled out a bunch full of fresh mint and added it to my drink If you like a sweet & refreshing cocktail, highly recommend this one! The papaya slice was also a nice touch. For food, I highly recommend the Chengdu dry hot chicken if you are able to take some heat. This fried chicken dish has a good balance of mala from the numbing peppercorns and heat from the peppers. We had this with a side of white rice. I've eaten a lot of Mala foods and I would say the flavors are pretty authentic here. We also tried the tofu crepe filled with shiitake mushrooms and bamboo. This dish was good but not excellent - the filling was a bit too sweet for me (I prefer savory flavors), but it did remind me of home-cooked Chinese food. I'm usually a huge fan of tofu crepe (tofu skin) but I feel like it could have been prepared better so it would be less chewy. I'll start by saying it's a good thing I don't live close to this place, or I would be spending waaaaay too much money here. Great food, great drinks, great vibe. Safe to say this will be my new go-to Sichuan spot. I've heard rave reviews of Blossom Bar as long as I've lived in Boston, but finally made it over here for a group dinner on a Thursday evening. I'm happy to say it lived up to the hype. Warning that even on a weeknight, the place was packed (bar included) so I'd recommend a reservation. The cocktail list is extensive with lots of unique flavors and combinations, our waiter was super helpful in recommending some of the most popular options when people had a hard time picking. Everyone ordered a couple rounds so we tasted a number of them, but our favorites included the Luluada, Broken Spanish (my personal fave - a little spicy with avocado and coconut to balance it out), and Malatang. As far as the food goes, you'll definitely want to share with the table so you can sample a little bit of everything. There isn't one thing that we tried that I wouldn't order again--it's truly that good. The menu features what they call "O.G recipes" and "American Comfort" options, so there's definitely something for everyone. Some of my can't miss recommendations: the Prosperity Noodles, Dan Dan Noodles, Pork Dumplings with Chili Vinaigrette, Chong Qing Dry Hot Chicken, and Eggplant with Spicy Garlic Sauce. Can't wait for my next visit to explore the rest of the menu. Been wanting to try this place out since I've been to their sister restaurant in Woburn called Baldwin bar and I loved it there. For food we had ordered their pork dumplings, chengdu dry hot chicken, prosperity noodles, and their string beans. I've been here multiple times over the years but last weekend was probably my most disappointing. The service was wonderful, the staff is always so helpful and attentive but the food quality had definitely dropped. This is definitely a starter restaurant for Szechuan food as there's much better in Boston and even nearby. The food lacked any spice or strong flavors, all of my section dishes were very mild and reminiscent of Chinese takeout food. The salt and pepper style shrimp and scallops was simply fried and had zero flavor let alone salt and pepper seasoning. The cucumber appetizer was just cucumbers sitting in a red oil that would not even coat the cucumbers, not at all what I've had before. Similarly the San Dan noodles also sat in bowl of with a small amount of oil sauce at the bottom not at all "tossed" in a sauce as described in the menu. You will see a picture of these dry noodles attached. The peppercorn beef tasted very basic and similar to beef and broccoli from Chinese takeout. If you want a meat option, both the dong po boneless ribs with a kick of mala spice and the fish was lightly fried and soft in the inside -- worth every bite. Drinks -- really want to try the Duan's whip but machine was broken but got the Lulada and I asked for the prettiest drink and he recommended the La Gota Fria (pink slushy drink). Delicious drinks, wonderful staff, great vibe! Had a blast with our bartender Robert (it's been a while, hope I got the name right). Chatted about food and drink spots in the area and beyond while we admired his delicious cocktails. Like everyone says, the drinks are creative and have a tiki-inspired vibe (plenty of rum, though there are other spirit bases too). Everything was delicious, though my personal favorite was the Queen's Court, which a lychee-like mango cordial and smoke from a dash of Ardbeg 10. Also enjoyed that the sesame in the Spanish remix had a nice slightly savory earthy quality, not hidden under sweet like sesame drinks often are. It has a very unique and creative flavor profile. Am definitely aiming to try all the cocktails on their menu at least once. Food is not bad, but its definitely a great place to go to just to have a cocktail. For entrees, I would recommend Dong Po Boneless pork. It has great flavoring with the spices and a nice crispiness to it. Would recommend making a reservation if you want to eat dinner there as it usually is quite busy. I've been able to get bar seating for cocktails without a reservation before though. Service is quick to attend to you and polite. Lighting inside the restaurant can be a bit dim and acoustics are on the louder side, but still a pleasant atmosphere. The cocktails here are AMAZING! I got the Duan's Whip (which has Dole Whip!!!) and my friend got the Pulque. The Duan's Whip was delicious! The Dole Whip paired really well with the alcohol. I didn't really taste any bitterness or aftertaste of alcohol in my drink, which was a plus for me since I prefer drinks that aren't too strong. It was a nice little dessert as well since the Duan's Whip came with a spoon to eat the Dole Whip!! My friend said the Pulque was really good as well. I had a sip of their drink and it was nice; not too bitter and masked the taste of alcohol. For food, we got the Pork Dumplings with Chili Vinaigrette and General Tso Chicken with a side of White Rice. Both dishes were super tasty. The General Tso Chicken was breaded nicely and wasn't simply majority just breading with no chicken. The sauce was also yummy; not too sweet. The Chili Vinaigrette with the Pork Dumplings was delicious -- the vinaigrette really tied all the flavors of the dumplings together and wasn't too acidic! However, the food is a bit on the pricier end for the amount you get. The food itself was overall good, but I have had better. Service was good, the one thing I will note is that their menu is online and you have to scan a QR code. We were seated near where the host stand was, so I saw the little tabletop signs and took one for our table since our host forgot to give us one. Overall, the place is small and quaint, but very aesthetic with yummy drinks. I highly recommend making a reservation much prior to when you want to come, this place gets booked fast! I'll start with I'm not a huge fan of Chinese food (this is technically Szechuan cuisine), so I didn't try many of the "authentic" dishes. I did try the crab rangoon, pork dumplings with chili vinaigrette, beef teriyaki kebabs, and white rice. The crab rangoon pieces were lightly fried, the perfect amount of crunch and crab filling, and paired well with their sweet orange dipping sauce. The pork dumplings were my favorite part because of the chili vinaigrette. The sauce had a small kick to it, but was not overpowering at all; and the dumplings were stuffed with a large amount of pork. I appreciate the "spicy" graphic next to items on the menu that are hot. Several different drinks were ordered at the table; each with a beautiful presentation and unique flavor. I tried their version of a spicy margarita- the Broken Spanish, and enjoyed it very much.
