    Pomelo salad

My favorite was the pomelo salad, I recommend getting it as an appetizer. The curries were not that good to be honest. I thought they were very sweet with a strong coconut milk base, which I personally don't like but if you do, get the crab curry. The fried chicken skin was unimpressive. I thought it'd be like the Jollibee fried chicken skin (iykyk) but it was unseasoned and unbattered deep fried chicken skin with sweet chili sauce. For the struggle of booking a reservation, I think the dishes weren't as good as I thought they'd be.

I had an amazing dinner at Mahaniyom. This place has been on my list for a while and I'm so glad I tried it! Everything on the menu looked amazing and we ordered a delicious selection. My highlights were definitely the Pad Thai and the Beef Panang Curry - they were phenomenal. The place is a small, intimate restaurant that feels chic and classy but is also very cozy at the same time. The servers were great, and the food was served quickly. I really enjoyed my experience here!

I heard this place got busy really fast with reservations so we arrived shortly after 4 pm for a party of 3 and had the choice of sitting at the bar or sitting at a table (but had to leave by 5:15 due to reservations). The staff were really nice and helpful and it wasn't too loud even though it was a pretty small restaurant. They said that for 3 people they estimated 4-5 dishes to share would be good, but we only got 3 and still felt really full. We got the pad Thai, crab curry, lamb satay with peanut sauce, and 2 extra bowls of rice, which was in total around $86. The food was really good and we would definitely go again.

Similar vibe to Chalong in NYC. Sat at the bar before our table was ready. The bartender was very friendly and the cocktails were adventurous with a Thai twist. I especially liked the rambutini. The fried chive cakes and jor puu were both amazing. The beef masaman, classic pad Thai and branzini were fantastic. The chicken ka prow was okay. This is a tapas place so the servings are not large. Would order 2-3 dishes per person

It was fairly difficult to get a good reservation here, so the experience was a bit disappointing. I felt the curries tasted on par with other Thai spots in the area, and the drinks sounded better on paper than they really were. The restaurant is small, dimly lit, intimate, and the service was good. The pomelo salad was my favorite, so fresh and balanced and the shrimp inside were cooked perfectly. The roti that came with the beef massaman also stood out to me! Not sure if those are enough to get me to go back, but would recommend those two.

Came here for an early dinner on a weekend at 5pm and I only had to wait 5-10 minutes without a reservation for a party of 1. I got seated at the bar and the bartenders were very nice and helpful with recommendations on food and drinks. I got the beef panang which was delicious and the kin na ree drink which was nice and strong. I also ordered the salted pepper pork cheek after finishing my main and drink because I really wanted an additional item. While it was nicely flavored, it was little too charred/overcooked which made it hard to chew. I would definitely come back to try more drinks and food next time I'm back in Boston though and maybe bring some of my friends.

Came here yesterday with 3 others for a 7:30pm reservation that I booked a month in advance. Otherwise, you're looking at a 4pm or 10pm reservation. Found street parking easily on surrounding streets. The restaurant is small, with low tables, high tables, and bar seating. The other reviewers are accurate in saying that the table next to you is only a few inches away. For 4 of us, we ordered 2 Thai iced teas, khao tang na tung (rice crackers), jor puu, kai tod had yai (fried chicken), beef massaman, classic pad thai, and crab fried rice. I was not a huge fan of the rice crackers as they tasted a bit bland. Standouts were the crab fried rice and the beef massaman. Jor puu was good, the fried chicken was good, although it seemed less fried and more grilled. Pad thai was average to me as were the Thai iced teas. Overall, was a good meal and we left satisfied and full. But I don't think it was exceptional enough to warrant a month-long waitlist for a normal dinner time, although I'm sure much of this is due to making Bib Gourmand recently. Glad I got to try it once but there are other Thai places I'd be more willing to go back to.

"Best Thai Restaurant" in "Best of Boston 2025"! I met up with colleagues so that we can order more dishes; everyone was very satisfied. Yum Som O (Pomelo Salad): Absolutely divine! So delicious it brought tears to my eyes... The sweet and sour juiciness of the grapefruit, the crisp and oily aroma of the fried shallots, the crunchy and fatty aroma of the cashews, the subtle sweetness and fragrance of the roasted coconut, the umami and grainy texture of the shrimp flakes, the savoriness and slightly sweetness of the fish sauce, the slight spiciness of the chili... the layers were incredibly rich and perfectly balanced, a truly delightful experience. Salted Pepper Pork Cheek: The seasoning was layered, not just salt and pepper, but also leaving a complex aroma of cilantro stems, garlic, and shallots in the aftertaste; the slight spiciness made it perfect with drinks. But wouldn't it be better with pork belly? The cheek meat wasn't that fatty, making it more suitable for grilling; frying resulted in a dry and hard texture rather than crispiness, and the oily flavor wasn't strong enough. Kai Tod Had Yai Sticky Rice: My first time trying Thai fried chicken. It was juicy but not very so, the crust was a bit hard, and the lemongrass flavor wasn't very prominent. Eating it with sticky rice is recommend, that way is definitely authentic, but I really didn't understand how these two dry ingredients blend with each other. Beef Massaman: The beef was stewed until tender and flavorful, and the Massaman curry was a bit peculiar! It was sweet and sour at first, with a pineapple-like fruity aroma, layered with a rich milky flavor. It was the first time I'd ever had curry like this; paired with roti, it reminded me of the "Indian flying bread印度飛餅" in most of the Cantonese restaurants from my childhood. Crab Fried Rice: The first bite was amazing! The freshly cooked fried rice was still steaming hot, each grain distinct, fragrant but not greasy, with the sweetness of the crab meat bursting in the aftertaste; a touch of fish sauce added a striking sweet and umami flavor, and a rich fermented aroma. But after a few more bites, as it cooled slightly, the rice became a bit too soft, and the wok hei鑊氣 (wok aroma) diminished considerably. If the rice wasn't pre-coated by the egg yolk before going into the wok, the fried rice would be a bit lacking. Classic Pad Thai: Actually, I think it's more "fancy" than "classic", but I was so happy to finally have Pad Thai in Boston area that wasn't overly sour! The rice noodles were stir-fried with a wonderful wok hei, the sweetness of the onions and palm sugar was prominent, and the crushed shrimp and peanuts added layers of savory flavor. The Jumbo black tiger prawns were very fresh, firm, and bouncy.

Food is UNREAL! I came in with really high expectations because I've heard this is the best Thai food in Boston and was blown away. I loved everything that we got and the service was so quick! My favorite dish were the crab curry and pomelo salad. 10/10 would recommend!

Beef Panang and Crab Fried Rice

On my journey of trying all the Boston 2025 Bib Gourmand restaurants this has been my favorite so far. It was great Thai food. The Beef Panang was great and so was the crab fried rice but I liked the beef Panang better. Also the Thai iced tea was to die for even the non dairy one. Must try Thai restaurant in Boston.

I've been to Mahaniyom a few times now and it's still one of my favorite restaurants to recommend. It's a smaller space with intimate but lively atmosphere. Dinner time is really fun because they turn up the music and the restaurant is darker. They also make really fun and delicious cocktails. The waitstaff are always friendly and attentive. I have never had a bad experience with service. My friends and I usually eat family-style and share everything. I've yet to find a dish that I do not like The green papaya salad with soft shell crab was so good. It was a perfect contrast to the other sauce-heavy dishes. The crispy chicken skin was our favorite! It was unsalted and fried to perfection. The sauce that accompanied was so good and paired well with other dishes too. The pad thai was delicious and the prawns were so big. The crab curry was good, but I do wish there was a stronger crab flavor. The beef panang was so amazing. The meat was tender and the sauce was rich and well-seasoned. I personally liked mixing the crab curry and panang sauce with rice.

Mahaniyom absolutely lived up to its Michelin Bib Gourmand recognition -- this was a truly delicious, memorable dining experience. The restaurant is small, which definitely adds to how hard it is to snag a reservation, but the food, service, and vibe make it completely worth it. The Thai menu is served in a more tapas-style format, encouraging you to try a variety of dishes -- and you should. Standouts for us were the pomelo salad (bright, fresh, perfectly balanced) and the massaman curry, which I can confidently say is the best Thai curry I've ever had in my life. No exaggeration. Cocktails were Thai inspired and delicious. Service was impeccable -- our server was attentive, kind, and clearly passionate about the food. Add in the cozy atmosphere and a playlist full of great 2000s throwbacks, and the whole experience felt warm, fun, and effortless. One of my absolute favorite restaurants in the Boston area, hands down. Can't wait to come back.

Everything was really good and quick service. The place gets super busy so def need reservations. They do let you know when your time is up for the next guests as well. Parking is street and we came On a Sunday night so not too bad. The only caveat I would say is the lack of hot sauce flavors. Thai food can be spicy but none of our dishes had that extra kick if you know what I mean. Siracha was an option but wish they had more authentic hot sauce choices for all these fabulous dishes.

My only complaint is the little size for the samosa size. For our mains we got the short rib and the white butter chicken. The butter chicken could've used a bit more chicken for the price and was frankly a bit tough. The sauce was great. The short rib was flavorful and packed the perfect punch. Dipping the garlic naan in both sauces was my fav part!! Overall an ok experience. I want to give the restaurant grace because it was very packed but service was poor. Alas, I came with my wife and daughter for a late dinner. And on that basis, it fails. Question. How does one ruin onion rings? Seriously. I've never been to a sports bar that botched fried menu items. The onion rings were rubbery and over-fried to oblivion. Not to mention, there were five of them. Five onion rings? Was it a small order? No. And they weren't the giant ones where you could say, ok I get it -- those are giant onion rings. The order was five average sized onion rings, which ended up being four too many since they were inedible. Not a good start. I had the fish and chips (I ordered this before I knew this place didn't know how to make bar food). The order was two small over-fried fish portions, and a handful of fries. The fish wasn't as epically bad as the onion rings, but they weren't good by even my lowly Michigan standards. The fries were ok and that measure makes them the strongest fare of the meal. Wife's salad was drenched with dressing. Daughter's fettuccini Alfredo was watery and weird tasting. The ambiance is great for a sports bar. Great old features and ample tvs to see the game. But this is not a kitchen to rely on. Come here for beer and TV and you'll be fine.

Second reason is, the quality of their meat selection is excellent. Literally tastes so fresh and clean. I love that it's thinly sliced, too. Maybe I have a third reason too lol their dumplings, their dumplings (chives or cabbage), are so tasty. It comes out steaming hot in a whole order. Please try! We came here Monday for lunch. The waitress that was there and served us, she is amazing. Super friendly and helpful. We opted for the VIP selection because why not. For $40 a person, it's still not bad for the quality of food you get. I highly recommend it. Just check out my shortrib picture, you'll drool! The only reason I gave this review 4 out of 5 is because, there were not much seafood selection.

My favorite hot pot spot that has ruined me to everywhere else!…read more If you love that mala numbing spice you HAVE to try La Mei! They do AYCE From 11-4pm every day which is SO worth it for like $32! You can choose your broth (and you can do split broths)-- we always do the vegetable oil and the mushroom broth which are both sooo yummy (if they ask you how spicy say mild!! I can handle lots of spice and trust me you don't need more). Then you can order meats, veg, tofu, seafood, mushrooms, and noodles. Definitely get the hand pulled noodles! They "pull" the noodles right in front of you which is so fun. They also have a really nice sauce bar with tons of dipping options and also a few fruits and snacks. Overall, you must try this place! So delicious and affordable, make it your regular like I have
