Mahaniyom absolutely lived up to its Michelin Bib Gourmand recognition -- this was a truly delicious, memorable dining experience. The restaurant is small, which definitely adds to how hard it is to snag a reservation, but the food, service, and vibe make it completely worth it. The Thai menu is served in a more tapas-style format, encouraging you to try a variety of dishes -- and you should. Standouts for us were the pomelo salad (bright, fresh, perfectly balanced) and the massaman curry, which I can confidently say is the best Thai curry I've ever had in my life. No exaggeration. Cocktails were Thai inspired and delicious. Service was impeccable -- our server was attentive, kind, and clearly passionate about the food. Add in the cozy atmosphere and a playlist full of great 2000s throwbacks, and the whole experience felt warm, fun, and effortless. One of my absolute favorite restaurants in the Boston area, hands down. Can't wait to come back.

The food is mostly on the salty side especially the morning glory. The drinks are great, they're well balanced. The atmosphere is nice if it's not packed with people standing by the doorway.

Everything was really good and quick service. The place gets super busy so def need reservations. They do let you know when your time is up for the next guests as well. Parking is street and we came On a Sunday night so not too bad. The only caveat I would say is the lack of hot sauce flavors. Thai food can be spicy but none of our dishes had that extra kick if you know what I mean. Siracha was an option but wish they had more authentic hot sauce choices for all these fabulous dishes.

We only ordered takeout, but overall everything was delicious and well seasoned. The only dish that was just okay for us was the pad thai--it was fine, but a bit lacking in flavor compared to the other items we ordered. When we picked up the food, the inside of the restaurant looked really nice and it was very busy for a Friday night, so I'd definitely recommend reservations on the weekends. Overall, we had a great experience and will definitely be coming back to try more dishes!

Really hard to book a reservation but food is amazing!! Even the basic dishes taste slightly different from other Thai restaurants. I really like the Thai iced tea too.

Finally ate here in person and they really didn't disappoint. We walked in at around 4:50pm for early dinner for 2 and sat at their open seating high top table. Our food came out so quickly and was SO GOOD. The staff was super nice and accommodating to allergies too. We got the duck larb, pork cheeks, and tofu. Everything was great. The tofu was really mild and subtle but a great balance to the larb and pork cheeks. Definitely recommend.

Came out with a group of friends and was really curious on the concept of Thai tapas, but the execution was fantastic. It's a really busy and packed place, so expect to be a bit squeezed together, but the vibes and music are great. The service was fast, they weren't the nicest, but in general it was fine. We ordered the khao tang na tung, crab fried rice, beef panang, yum som, and a few other things I'm probably forgetting. Everything was fantastic, the salad was definitely the star of the show, would definitely recommend!

Small, loud, dark restaurant that easily gets crowded anytime but somehow, the wait staffs are always so attentive and friendly. One of the best customer service. I would recommend this restaurant for a date or hanging out with friends, more for the younger crowds who doesn't need extreme fluorescent lights like a corporate office just to see what they're eating or reading their menu. Also to note, its cramped but not as bad as NY where you have to share your table with other parties. Oysters - Cotuit (Nantucket, MA) - highly recommend if you eat raw oysters. All the side sauces are great with local oysters and I love that it's from Nantucket. Just thinking of it is making me crave it. Adding fried onions gave it a nice crunch to just traditional raw Northeastern oysters. Pad Thai - delicious and perfectly seasoned. Not a lot and not overall sweet. If you have a peanut allergy then just let them know to not include any. For those who with tree-nut allergen, you will be fine with this dish. I like that they actually included fresh bean sprouts and shrimps. Opt of out of tofu if you have a soy allergen. Crab fried rice - oh so delicious with real crab meat. I enjoyed this a lot and would get it again, next time I am here. Eating some cucumbers on the side satisfy what the back of my mind where I can already hear my Asian mom yelling at me for not eating enough veggies. Overall experience was wonderful and would recommend anyone to stop by! Parallel parking but that's the norm for this area. Prices are moderate; not expensive but not cheap enough to be first high school/college date.

Food is great! I've been here twice and I've liked every dish. Tapas style, so the portions are smaller but quality. It's always packed, and the space is small-- not very kid or stroller friendly, more like a date night spot. There's street parking, but expect to circle a little during busy hours. Definitely try it out!

This place came highly recommended as one of the top restaurants in Boston, so I had high hopes. Unfortunately, I was quickly disappointed by the slow service, very salty food, and cramped seating. Since it is critically acclaimed as a top Thai restaurant in the Boston area, I made reservations for lunch on a Monday. However, we ended up being the first customers in the restaurant that day despite there being plenty of empty seats. Even with the restaurant mostly empty, the service was unexpectedly slow. The food was so salty that I found myself chugging water throughout the meal. The seating was also very cramped--another party was seated right next to my table, even though many tables were empty. It was uncomfortably close and made it difficult to get out of my seat to exit the restaurant. Overall, for the price point and quality of food, I'm skeptical about the hype surrounding this restaurant.

Never disappointed here! They were able to seat a party of three last minute at the bar, which I am so grateful for! We ordered a plethora of dishes, mostly ones we have already tried and knew we loved! I always enjoy starting with their deliciously fried and chewy chive cakes, then their brussel sprouts. This time, we tried their crab on top of a crispy rice cracker and it will now be on my ordering list for every future visit! The crispy cracker was the perfect vessel for the smooth and creamy crab topping. I also loved the pomelo salad, one of my staples! So much flavor mixed into the small bowl, and with a good spicy kick. Our crab curry was also amazing, we ended up slurping the entire bowl! Overall, we always have an amazing experience here.

Sometimes when I hear so many good reviews for a spot, I start to worry my expectations will be too high. No issues with that whatsoever at Mahaniyom! Even as someone with a nut and shellfish allergy, I left full and satisfied with my meal here. My personal favorite of the night was the fried chive cake - I was initially super skeptical because it looked just okay but I loved the taste and texture! My husband's favorite was the Kang Pu / crab curry, saying it reminded him of his absolute fav Thai spot from when we lived around NYC. Our must haves of the night were the fried chive cake, salt and pepper pork cheek, and crab curry. The other two dishes were good but not as great as the others.

    Kevin G.

Well deserved recognition from the Michelin guide! The space is cozy and intimate and the staff was super helpful with recommendations. I was particularly impressed by the speed of service at mahaniyom, it felt like all drinks and dishes came out really quickly after ordering. The standouts for me were the cocktails, crispy chicken skin, and chive cakes. The execution of those were spot on. I look forward to returning to Mahaniyom soon!

Why fix something simple when it ain't broken? Sometimes places can fall into the trap of trying to do too much. Prairie Fire is one of the few that can walk that tightrope, offering a raw bar, pizzas, pastas, a burger, seafood, and more. But everything we tried was delicious. I had an eye on so much on the menu but we ultimately went with the razor clam ceviche from the raw bar, a pepperoni pizza, the Maine lobster ravioli, and the mushroom toast (a crowd favorite). My favorites were the ceviche and the mushroom toast - do not skip it. The mushrooms are cooked perfectly and they slather a layer of parmesan aioli on the bread that cooks into it. Amazing. One of my best bites of 2025. Pepperoni pizza was pretty good but I still prefer the Neapolitan style. Have to come back to try so many other things - the Maine uni toast, the burger, the trout. The sourdough ice cream was a super unique dessert. They take the leftover butts of loaves and soak it in milk/cream and the result is almost like a less sweet salted caramel. Loved the textural addition of the poached pear. We were lucky to come around 5 on a weekend evening and snag some of the remaining bar seats but when we left, the place was completely full. The restaurant shares an entryway with an apartment rental realty business, which is already a bit weird from the point of view of atmosphere. I almost missed the door to the restaurant because it's in a corner, and there were several delivery boxes of takeout containers waiting to be taken in, almost blocking the doorway. If I had been in a wheelchair, I wouldn't have been able to get through the door. I mentioned this to the front desk staff and the boxes were gone before I left. My plan was to eat at the bar. It turned out that there was a large party hanging out at the bar before sitting down at the large central table, so the only room for me was at the very edge of the bar. However, the bartender was nice and got me a menu, and they did eventually sit down so I got a little more space. My cocktail (pomegranate old-fashioned) was excellent. So was my turmeric tandoori salmon. I had a glass of Pinot Grigio, which was very reasonably priced for Brookline. I was not thrilled by the cardamom chocolate tart: the chocolate was liquid, inside a stale-tasting shell. Overall, it has potential and I'll probably come back. I'll call in advance to ask about large parties, and I'll avoid the chocolate tart unless I'm assured that it's changed.

My drink came after 15 mins and then we had to remind the waiter about his whiskey. That took another 10. We started with the chicken bao buns and the samosas. Both spectacular! My only complaint is the little size for the samosa size. For our mains we got the short rib and the white butter chicken. The butter chicken could've used a bit more chicken for the price and was frankly a bit tough. The sauce was great. The short rib was flavorful and packed the perfect punch. Dipping the garlic naan in both sauces was my fav part!! Overall an ok experience. I want to give the restaurant grace because it was very packed but service was poor. I think we had 4 different staff members help us total which probably led to lots of miscommunication.
