    Steak tip dinner

Went for trivia night and was expecting average quality bar food but was pleasantly surprised. The steak tip dinner and fish and chips were pretty good. Would give this a 4.5/5.

The rating remains a 3. Typical bar food. Service is good. Lighting is too bright. I would go again but out of necessity.

Great neighborhood bar! We visited twice while in the Boston area. The Shepards Pie was fantastic! Friendly bar staff!

A cozy delicious Irish pub. My order was a Caesar salad ($11) and added steak tips ($7) I also had a cider and a slice of chocolate cake. Salad was tasty. Exactly what you'd expect for the salad. HOWEVER the steak tips were SO delicious. I don't know how they marinated them, but whatever it is, is absolutely marvellous! The portion of steak was large, and very satisfying. My critique for the steak tips was that I requested medium rare, and they were closer to medium-well. If they weren't so darn tasty and tender, it could have been a larger impact on my dining experience. The chocolate cake was good, but it was too rich for my taste. Probably wouldn't order again. But if super rich cake is your thing, then you're in the right spot. Overall I'm giving 5 stars for the absolutely stellar steak tips, and the generous portion you get!

I haven't had the pleasure to dine in Grainne's due to the pandemic but I got the shepherd's pie and buffalo wings delivered earlier tonight and the food was fantastic. I have been looking for the shepherd's pie of my dreams in the Boston area for quite awhile now... and the search is FINALLY over. This shepherd's pie is absolutely perfect. The ground beef and veggies are so flavorful.. AND you get gravy and it's all garnished with fresh green onion. I couldn't stop stealing spoonful after spoonful even though I was full. The wings were a bit soggy due to the delivery but they were still fresh and I like their tangy homemade buffalo sauce. I can't wait to try the bangers and mash and fish and chips and dine in!!!

Highly recommend (though it's a bit loud)!! The chicken sweet potato bowl is DELICIOUS! And the sweet staff have the most charming accents.

Super relaxed atmosphere and tv's, so it would be a great place to watch a game. Friendly bartender and the fish and chips was good. They also have pizzas that looked great. My friend had a pesto with burrata and she said it was awesome. They also have gluten-free pizza, whihc is good to know. Our table neighbor had the pork chop, which also looked great. They have a small parking lot, which would fill up quickly. We went on a very "off" time, so we were able to park in that lot. Otherwise, you'd need to find street parking.

We were seated right away at a table in the middle of the floor. Told that was best that could be done. Like eating in an aisle. After a few minutes we were asked if we wanted still water or not. Still, we said. Then if we wanted drinks, told her water would be fine. Service started to decline from there. Also no condiments come to the table, but water. We ordered bread and butter and a spice bag, but vegetarian. No bread today ran out. And no plans to bake anymore. We wait close to 25 minutes for our appetizers. Spice bag arrives and I had read rave reviews about this. Open it and its filled with chicken and french fries. Server grabbed it and told us, kitchen error. They would make another, be there in a minute or two. I asked would this show up with our entrees. No, be spaced apart. We waited over 15 minutes, it arrived. Was supposed to have cauliflower, peppers, onions and french fries. There was three pieces of cauliflower and no peppers or onions. What was there was tasty and well spiced. And as soon as we opened the bag and started eating, entrees show up. Fish and chips portions are huge and very nicely fried. Excellent crisp and fantastic steak fries. The Pizza #1, excellent tomatoed base and the crust had a good chew to it. I ordered the Beyond meat lasagna. Huge portion with a green salad and cole slaw. Cole slaw was creamy and very nice. Green salad was fresh but drenched in dressing. My fault should have asked for it on the side. The lasagna was disappointing. No seasoning, no garlic or onions or oregano. It was, I think a British version of lasagna. Ate about half could not eat more. No desserts, but drinks, tea and hot chocolate. Or I did not see it. Server apologized for the timing of the meals, the error with the Spice Bag and the lack of bread. She was sweet. Lots of sports being broadcasted, and a huge long bar. I would come for beer and soccer or football. If I wanted Irish bar food I'd be better going to the Burren. And parking is a challenge. They have a very small lot, we got lucky and found a spot. Hard pass on McGonagle's.

We started with the pretzel bites and a curl of French onion soup (so sad I didn't get a photo). Both delicious although the cheese sauce for the pretzel bites was a bit thin - the flavor was there though. The French onion soup was delicious! The first spoonful made my tastebuds dance! The bread in the soup tasted like rye which ended up being a nice touch. They also did not skimp on the cheese! For our meals, my wife got the French dip sandwich handheld which she enjoyed. She was only able to finish half. I couldn't decide and asked our waitress to decide for me from shepherd's pie, chicken pot pie, and the London broil. She talked me into the shepherd's pie due to the weather outside and the fact that it is so big, I would definitely get to take home leftovers. This dish was huge! From the first spoonful, the taste of the sirloin/potato/demiglace was perfect. This is definitely a hearty dish worthy of a winter's night! From the smile on the host's face when we walked in, the ambience with the wood, windows, and lights, and our wonderful (and attentive) waitress, our visit to O'Hara's was definitely one we would like to replicate!
