Came for Sunday brunch and there were plenty of seatings. They have an open lot right in front of the restaurant with additional parking in the back. Inside is very spacious, good for kids, families, large groups. The space is unique and historical because it used to be a train stop. The current commuter rail runs right behind the restaurant. Service - our server was friendly and attentive but can tell lacked experience. For brunch it was a small menu but has few vegetarian options. Food portion is decent and most can be shared. Odd, they don't have ice coffee and no hot water (at the time we went) so couldn't get tea either. I would rate this 3.5 read more

Such a fan of this spot. Hobson's is fairly new to the neighborhood after taking over Regina Pizza that had been here for years. Hobson's is a super cozy and inviting restaurant. Picture dark wood, and it's got almost a candlelight feel when you walk in since it's pretty dimly lit inside. Also it was literally warm inside which definitely added to the ambiance of it all. Not to mention the extremely friendly staff working. Our bartender waiting on us was so friendly and kind -- I believe her name was Margot? She's so awesome. Shoutout Margot. Eventually our group moved to a table and they immediately gave us bread and better and water (a win - also the concept of complimentary bread isn't even that common anymore? When did that stop happening at places?). Anyhow, we ordered a buffalo chicken pizza and it was delicious. The added touch was the onions on top which I could personally do without, but I ate it anyways and it was delicious with the sauce and cheese ratio. Big fan of the live music as well. Great new neighborhood spot. Service is super friendly and food is awesome as well. The restaurant itself is very roomy, but is a bit bare and doesn't match the welcoming vibe. They should defiantly add some local flare, as it's just bare brick will with question 5 posters. Beyond that I loved everything. Will 100 percent be coming back and recommend giving the place a try Focaccia bread- free of change. Nice to see some places still do free bread. We called and attempted to order takeout but we were redirected to Doordash. We tried Doordash but they didnt have the same menu. We called the restaurant again to let them know and attempted to place an order but the person who answered the phone said the manager told them they are not allowed to take orders over the phone. Looking for a place to eat With some parking, I always see it on the side of the highway I figured we'd give it a shot.........Got the Monday promo, ouch.... Just a salad and some pasta with the chick parm kicker.... Salad was good, should have came out as an app, and not with the pasta..... and the chick parm kicker was mehhh.... I asked for more sauce cause it was dry, not even sure what the waitress brought out, it was ice cold, but it definitely wasn't a side of sauce....am I missing something? read more

went to Hobson last night for dinner. The place is nice a former train station that had been renovated into a restaurant. We got the Fritto Misto appetizer, which was good. We also got the burgers which are very tasty. The fries were OK. They had a side of pickles, that surprisingly delicious. they had music that night someone on a guitar, which was nice. I'll wait this was just OK not super attentive. We really had to flag her down when we were trying to leave and she never bothered to ask if we wanted to dessert specials, which also look good. This would be a nice addition to the neighborhood, I will definitely go back and try some other things on the menu read more

We were a little skeptical about this place at first because of the lack of people inside, but I'm so glad we decided to give it a try. This place was absolutely delicious! We got the calamari, chicken rigatoni pasta, the Roni pizza, and the short rib sandwich. All dishes were so yummy and exceeded our expectations! The rigatoni was creamy and flavorful, the pizza had a great crust, and the short rib sandwich was incredibly tender. The drinks were also very good. read more

Really neat spot, everything we've tried on the menu has been amazing! Only reason for a 4 is the service needs work. Both times I've been we've had questionable service, once where the waiter basically left us with menus & water for 25 mins before asking if we wanted to order food or drinks, and the second time our waitress was extremely confused and had no idea how to ring up the drinks we ordered. They were pretty basic too like a whiskey sour & a dirty martini. Otherwise, worth the trip for the food!!! read more

Hobson's has pretty decent food and good drinks, and the kitchen is open late (until 2am) which is a rarity on Boston. The Blueberry Cobbler Shop and Third Rail drinks are particularly great. At the same time, it seems to be a restaurant cosplaying as a campaign ad which is a really weird environment. The restaurant is decked out in signs for an upcoming ballot question on tipping, and the servers all wear shirts saying that they don't support the ballot question (I had never heard of the proposal, so I asked the server their thoughts - they just said management told them to wear it). I'll probably come back after the election, but until then, I'd rather spend my money in a place that's a little less of a marketing campaign. read more

Upon first entering the restaurant, the host and the bartender greeted us kindly, and the host showed us to our seats. The seats weren't the most comfortable in terms of padding, but this definitely didn't ruin the experience. Our server Eliza was great and told us about the $8 burger deal on Tuesday's which was very kind of her. We ordered the burgers and just got water to drink. The burgers were very good and so were the fries. It took a while for our server to return before a different server brought us our food. We never got this servers name, but he took a while to bring us the check and he never really checked in on us. Just had a fantastic lunch at Hobsons. The best GF pizza - cauliflower crust that actually had a rise like real dough! Not cardboard! So good and the GF fries in a dedicated fryer were excellent! I dined at Hobson's on Sunday 12/8 with a friend and ordered the 4 hour boneless braised beef short rib with creamy truffle polenta, crispy brussels, peppercorn whiskey sauce and a side of truffle fries. The service and food was great, but later that evening I began experiencing symptoms of food poisoning which has lasted on and off into today. I called the restaurant to inform the kitchen on Monday 12/9 afternoon and then emailed with this same information on Tuesday 12/10 afternoon - I have not received a phone call or email in return. I am disappointed as I was hopeful to inform them one on one but now feel that this has to be the medium as I have not been responded to and I don't want this to happen to others. Please be wary of ordering the dishes I ordered this week and I hope that the management and kitchen reads this review. read more

Thank you so much to Dan, T and all the wonderful staff for making our event today so fun! We did our annual 5k at artesian park and this was the perfect spot to enjoy with family and friends after. We ordered several pizzas, delicious chicken tenders and fries. The sangria and margaritas were a group favorite. We were also impressed with the family friendly atmosphere (including changing tables in the men's room!!) We will for sure be back next year! Had an excellent experience here with some colleagues today. The service was very attentive and food absolutely delicious. The restaurant is a really cool atmosphere too. We had devil eggs ( oh yummy), I had the salmon and potatoes cooked just a little crispy on the outside and melt in the inside- perfection! My colleagues had the rib tacos and caesar salad with chicken- they said was great and crushed it. We shared the banana foster cheesecake- it was top notch.
