I've been meaning to go to Lulu's for so long and I'm so glad I finally did! I went on a Tuesday when they have trivia and we had so much fun. They got a new chef, Chef Dan, so the menu is even better than ever! The ambiance is perfect for a bar-esque night and especially great for trivia! They have a big drink menu too with lots of cocktails. The service was good, especially because it wasn't too busy when I went. We got a ton of food: duck poutine, candied pork belly, ribs with sides, sirloin steak, chicken & waffles, chimichanga, salmon, and chicken & potatoes! There's a ton here but our favorites were the duck poutine, pork belly, steak, and the salmon. My top 2: poutine and pork belly. The poutine was packed with flavor from the duck and gravy. Pork belly was candied so well and still tender. I didn't love the chicken dishes though as they were a bit dry. Overall, I had a great time and would definitely go again!

Fun brunch spot in Allston; always busy but worth the wait. Great hollandaise sauce on my eggs. White trash hash was a fun option- filling and flavorful. Big venue would be great with a large party. Waitress was great and lowered the blinds when we asked.

    Breakfast Burrito

Lulu's is definitely a solid place to go for brunch in the Allston area. I've been wanting to try it for a while and I'm not disappointed! I ordered the breakfast burrito which also came with tots (paid a bit extra for Cajun tots--no regrets at all, they were great). The burrito tasted wonderful--the flavor, the mix of everything in it--I really enjoyed it! One thing I do have to say is that the food there is not exactly unique. There are plenty of brunch places in Boston, and I don't really think anything makes Lulu's stand out particularly. It's you're go-to, solid, and know-what-you're-going-to-get choice. In my opinion, it's just another good brunch place but not much sets it apart. Their food is also more on the greasy side, I can't say I felt fantastic after eating the burrito and tots but I also didn't feel like absolute sh*t either. I'd recommend checking out Lulu's just because it's pretty popular, but just know that it's the very standard brunch place!

Came here on a Saturday afternoon to grab a drink and food with a friend. I kept an open mind coming into this place as I did see some mixed reviews from among the Yelpers. It wasn't crowded at all on Saturday afternoon. There were plenty of seatings available inside and out. They do have a large patio in back which is good to bask in the sun with a cold drink. They do have a large menu of brews and cocktails. You won't be disappointed with the selection of the drinks. There is something for anyone. The food on the other hand was a different story. I ended up getting the short rib Mac n cheese, which was very underwhelming and almost tasted like it was made from a boxed Mac n cheese. My friend got the OG burger, which he commented also looked like it was from a box. He did mention the burgers did taste pretty good. Overall I would come here for drinks with friends but skip the food.

    Bloody Mary

Flavors - 3 Textures - 3 Presentation - 3.5 Value for money - 3.5 Would return? No Must-try: Bloody Mary The bloody mary is fantastic, but since I only review the food it is not considered in the score above! Their eggs benedict were really well executed from perfectly cooked eggs to well-toasted English muffins, however, there was nothing unique or memorable about them. The tomato basil type came with a tasteless basil oil that just made the whole thing oily. The chipotle pork was an interesting combination and I like the substitution of muffin for cornbread, however, the pulled pork was overly sweet and soggy (like cooked in a crockpot) and the cornbread was so soggy it fell apart. The Quesadilla had nice flavors and it was well seasoned but it had some execution problems as well. The tortilla lacked crispiness on the outside, the scrambled eggs were overcooked and the guacamole tasted like it was a day old.

Honestly would have been a 2.5 star review if that was an option. Service was poor with the host seating us and 30 minutes passing before our waitress even checked in. We then found out they had no beer due to technical difficulties. We ended up ordering the soba noodles and pomegranate short rib. The flavor of both was good but execution was meh. Soba noodles were downed in sauce while the short rib was dry and no pomegranate flavor was detected. We then saw the waitress for the second time that night with the check (one of the most curt wait staff experiences I've had)

I have a soft spot for any type of outdoor dining, and Lulu's has won my entire heart over. The outdoor patio has such a cozy ambiance and it's surprisingly huge so all the tables are very spaced apart. The fairy lights are so pretty! As for food, the mama's fried chicken.. perfection. The chicken was juicy on the inside, crispy on the outside, and it came on top of perfectly seasoned mashed potatoes. The arugula kept the dish from being too heavy. The cajun tater tots were as good as they sound. Looking forward to my next visit; will definitely try the beer!

Had high hopes for this place because of the reviews but was shocked at how bad the food was. Walked in at 1pm and 1 person was hanging out at the bar and the workers were just on they're phone and standing around I had to let them know twice that I was just here for a pick up order. Ordered a chicken sandwich and the jalapeño dip with tortillas the sandwich was okay (the only thing I ate). The French fries looked like they were refried from the night before !!! Just soaked in oil! And the dip looked like it was reused from the day before as we'll definitely not fresh and didn't take too good either. The place looked nice but that's about it.

Overall great! We sat on the back patio, which was really nice, and the service was great. It was pretty quiet while we were there. They had a great selection of sour beers. I have food allergies and my server was able to easily answer all my questions, and my allergies were noted on my receipt, which I always appreciate. The burrata was very yummy!

avocado toast (do NOT get) and chipotle pork benny
    Carlotta C.

A-OK, the back patio is nice but I don't understand the hype about the food - it's really just meh. I ordered the avocado toast, which was served on Texas toast - an interesting choice but was willing to give it a try. I was very disappointed to verify that the avocado tasted just like those pre-made guacamole containers you can buy at the grocery store. In addition, the "poached" egg it came with was fully cooked... at least it was only $10... My friend ordered the chipotle pork benny, which is original with regards to the idea, but her "poached" eggs were too, extremely overcooked. On the plus side, it was a sunny day on the back patio and this business is on Seated, so at least I got $1 back on my meal...

Preface we went around 6pm! Once we were finally able to order, it took another 30-40 minutes for our drinks and food to arrive. I've had better experiences here in the past, which is why this visit was so surprising. I understand that off days happen, but the service was unusually slow from start to finish. I hope this was just an isolated experience because the food and atmosphere have been enjoyable on previous visits.

It's like someone mashed together an amusement park, a zoo, and a full-blown circus, then replaced the cotton candy with alcohol and the safety rails with chaos. Every floor felt like a different dimension--one minute you're vibing, the next you're dodging a human traffic jam like it's bumper cars. But the real main event? Colleen. First floor. Absolute legend. Watching her work was like witnessing a headliner performance before the headliner. She wasn't bartending--she was conducting a symphony of pure mayhem. Drinks flying out of her hands like fireworks, orders remembered with supernatural precision, cracking jokes, keeping the energy electric--it was like if a ringmaster, a magician, and a quarterback all fused into one person behind the bar. I showed up stone-cold sober. Like, "responsible adult grabbing a pre-show drink" sober. What happened next was less of a night out and more of a controlled demolition. Somewhere between Colleen's perfectly poured chaos and the multi-floor madness, time stopped making sense. I'm pretty sure I blacked out on one floor and woke up on another like I was fast-traveling in a video game. At one point I may have been part of the circus. Not watching it--part of it. By the time I left, "walking" was no longer an option. I exited the building in a full crawl, like I had just survived a natural disaster. Limbs questionable, dignity gone, spirit intact. 10/10.
