So the service is great. It's a small little kind of seems like a dive bar. They have a jukebox. They have great music playing we went in the middle of the day. There was like three or four customers just a bartender working so you have to cover the whole place. The menu is basically everything is à la carte but everything is very affordable. Total bar food but we got a veggie quesadilla that was actually delicious and I got the cowboy burger, which was great and my friend Tammy got a steak and a chicken taco, she liked them both very much. The server was very attentive. He made sure everything went well. The only reason they don't get five stars is we ordered a quesadilla as an appetizer and when we got our main courses he had and brought it because he forgot to order it. It was apologetic. While the food appears to be reasonably priced, the portions are disgraceful. The burger was small and does not come with fries. The $7 side of fries (that I had to order separately) wouldn't have been enough for the pigeons hanging out at the table next to us, let alone an adult human. My friend's chicken tenders took an hour to come out and we were told the first batch was sent to the wrong table. When they did show up the waiter who dropped them off basically threw them at the table, not even serving the correct person. The tenders were also burnt, almost to the point of being inedible and the "side of celery" is one piece. Visiting Boston after going to a concert. The Avenue was a yelp recommended late night spot near my hotel. Stopped in and wasn't really impressed. The music was way too loud for it to be just a radio speaker. I ordered a chicken quesadilla and it was more beans than anything else. The male runners aren't very courteous, the just drop your food at the table and dip before you can ask for anything. We ordered a beet type salad that was tasteless as lettuce and even an excess of salad dressing could not hide the fact of how tasteless it was. The Ave is such a vibe. We came for dinner on a Wednesday night and it was packed. Poppin. In the best way possible (it's important to note that it wasn't slow service because it was packed but more so it was very cool to see a place so busy on a Wednesday full of people of all ages). They also have an outdoor seating option right on comm ave which was also full because it was a beautiful night out! Go figure. :) We got the buffalo wings, waffle fries (a must order) and the nachos. The Buffalo wings were oh so good. Not overboard spicy but also definitely still had a Buffalo wing kick to them. The waffle fries are so good here -- one of my favorite menu items. You can even order them with a cheese and bacon topping too. The nachos were HUGE and sooo filling and loaded with toppings which is a major plus. They also have promo nights on Wednesday's and Thursday's and their kitchen it's open until 1am!! Have had many great nights at this local establishment. The staff are all amazing. The dartboards in the basement are often available and the basement is a great space to hang with a large group. This is such a great neighborhood bar. Very low key with a great draft selection and relatively cheap food. There is one server there that has been there for at least the past 3 years that I have been living in the area and she is so great and makes the experience even better. They always have seasonal beers on tap and had a good selection of pumpkin beers. For food I had the chicken tenders and fries (can't go wrong with this one) and my boyfriend and I split the pretzels. We had never had them before, but they were so good. They used to have late night specials which they have not had since they reopened from Covid. I hope they bring them back at some point. read more

I entered at around 4.45pm and to my surprise the place was almost already packed! We were here for a couple of beers. Ordered nachos and fries. Nachos were huge portion and tasted amazing, but they were badly stuck to the parchment paper. I have never seen so much guac and sour cream on a nachos platter ever in my life! I was really disappointed with this experience because I heard such great things about this place. When we got there, it smelled like throw up. Not sure if that's the usual vibe or if someone threw up. Our waiter disappeared after taking our order. The runner was nice and got us our food quickly. We split the pretzels, which I believe were just those frozen Super Pretzels and the cheese that came with it was that movie theater nacho cheese I'm pretty sure. The honey mustard was yummy, though. I got the shrimp tacos, and they had one shrimp in each taco and the aioli was just squirted on top and fell off right when I picked it up. Even though we got the food quickly, it was kind of cold and seemed like it had been sitting out for awhile. My boyfriend got the burger, which was pretty decent, especially for the price, but small. Our drinks were never refilled (just water and coke), and no one asked if we needed anything else. Our waiter was sitting at the bar on his phone with a drink the whole time. I'm not sure if he was on his break or was done with his shift, but if that was the case nobody picked up our table and we had to wait a half hour after we were done to find someone to get the check. The waiter for the table next to us who finally brought us our check was very nice and helped us when we asked immediately, though. It also wasn't busy, there were about 5 tables sat, so we were confused with the slow service. I would maybe come here again just for drinks if they're good, but I do not recommend in the slightest for dinner. Very cool look to it but I've never had worse service. read more

Cool place with a lot of good beer. When I came on a Thursday night there was a ton of seating and they had some games playing on TV. Seemed to be good vibes only. Late night burgers are $2. However, in the past my friend was able to get one of their specialty burgers for half off as well. Now, they will still charge you full price. So instead make sure you get a basic burger and just pay for the extra add-ons. However, everything here is so cheap already that it's worth it. Sides range from $2 - $5. Depending on what you are looking for, this spot can be just right. I went here to catch up with a friend over a burger. We got the classic avenue burgers which we both liked, they just needed a little extra kick of something. I asked for pickles, which helped. The fries that accompanied the burger really hit the spot. This place is very reasonably priced and has reduced money deals sometimes later in the night. The portion was just right for me, but could leave some still hungry.
