Locomoco - A bowl of rice with Asian-inspired toppings, including a poached egg, microgreens, and seasonings, served in a restaurant setting.

Wow wow wow. Best brunch I've had in some time. Waiter was on point and friendly from the start - great and attentive service from start to end, even tipped him a little more. To start we ordered drinks around the table. In order of my personal preference: Irish coffee, lavender mimosa, grapefruit mimosa (my order) and Bloody Mary (never a fan of it to begin with). Super unique flavors and would come back to try and order my own full order of the Irish coffee - only had a sip to taste test. We ordered 5 dishes among 4 people - we were stuffed but so happy to have ordered that amount to get to try a variety of dishes. This review is based on their winter 2022 season. I absolutely loved the chicken and waffle - the waffle was sweet which offset the chicken and the amazing potato home fries with the kimchi mayo sauce. I would most definitely order again. The breakfast set with the mackerel fish was unique and different - wouldn't think of eating fish for brunch and was delicious with the little side dishes and miso soup - glad to have ordered for the experience but not sure I'd order again if I were by myself. The smoked salmon Benedict was also good in my opinion and the home fries really helped hit the spot but nothing special. The last dish we had was the locomoco. I've had the local dish in Hawaii and this definitely tiered equally to what I've tried. Would 10/10 visit again for brunch - heard the menu rotates seasonally so this hooks me back! Also heard brunch size and portion is more generous than dinner but haven't personally tried.

Meh ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Asian fusion can always be a hit or a miss and Cloud & Spirits is unfortunately the latter. I can appreciate the creativity behind these dishes but overall the taste wasn't there. The best thing I had was the sweet potato croquette but even that wasn't incredible. At the end of the day, I've had each of these dishes better somewhere else. Each dish was really just missing something to punch it up. Like the flatbread tasted really bland and there wasn't enough pork belly to taste the difference. The shoyu chicken was comically over breaded like 70% breading. The ginger in the arancini completely overpowered everything. The duck wonton was fine again nothing incredible.

Service is good! The staff are nice. The food is okay. It's an American / Asian fusion restaurant. I think most of the food was not very flavorful, just tasted like fried carbs. That's just my preference though. I probably won't go again after this second time here. My first time was good! (I can review later.) Their menu changes seasonally I believe, but it's really hit or miss. For the photos, we got like 6 pieces of food, but that was easily $35 ... crazy. There were other pieces not in the pictures. We got the Xi'An Street Noodles and my friends really liked it. Again, price probably not worth for what you can get in a genuine Asian establishment! One thing I hated about this second time was seating. We were seated on the right-side when you first walk in. It's away from the nice ambiance (left side with the greenery) and was very dark! Kinda killed the mood with my girls! The one thing I love are the drinks! Drinks are so delicious. Never had a bad drink here. TLDR; Food is hit or (mostly) miss if you're Asian or eat a lot of Asian food. Go for drinks. Don't let them seat you in the dark corner!

Their food concept is very creative, but the menu is limited--likely because they are changing items periodically. I admire the ideas, as creating dishes that can both retain the original inspirations while transforming them into something entirely new is a challenge. My favorite was the duck confit wontons. Perhaps it's my bias, as this pairing reflects the only two cuisines that I believe does duck justice: French and Cantonese. The pork adobo was also flavorful, as I'd expect from the Filipino roots. Served on thin crisps, these hold well for two bites. The yellowtail crudo was good, and also the dish most likely to be found on other menus. The yuzu olive oil drizzled on is a delightful enhancement. The Hainan chicken arancini seemed fun in concept, but in its execution I didn't think the mozzarella nor the gochujang sauce belonged. The deep fried shell was counter to something (like ginger & scallions) that could cut into the richness of the Hainanese rice. The current concept (as of January 2022) is no longer Korean based, but rather Pacific. It's a good spot for first dates.

I came here on a Friday night and it wasn't too busy at all, though I would still recommend getting reservations. All the tables were well spaced apart and the dimly lit room gave it an intimate atmosphere. We got a few cocktails and tried a few food items from their Fall 2021 Menu. Yes they switch out their menu so you're bound to try something different! Here's my review on the food, listed from favorite to least favorite: Hainan Chicken Arancini ($14) My favorite dish of the night. The outside is light but crispy and when I bit in, I can really taste the roasted chicken and ginger - very reminiscent of Hainan chicken. The arancini paired perfectly with the gochujang sauce on the side. I might actually like this more than the regular arancini =X! Pork Belly Adobo ($24) Slices of marinated pork with a side of white rice. The slices of pork were marinated well and they weren't too fatty, which I prefer. They came with two sauces: chili fig jam and calamansi verde. My only complaint is that the pork wasn't as tender as it is in most pork adobo I've had. Mushroom Ravioli ($28) Five pieces of raviolis with fresh shitake on top. The raviolis tasted good, but there wasn't a complexity of flavor that I expected with the shaved black truffle. Yuzu Honey Greens ($14) Refreshing salad, but unfortunately it wasn't anything special. I would recommend skipping this, unless you really want a salad. Overall, the food is good here but some of the dishes are overpriced in my opinion. I would recommend coming here for the drinks though! They have very tasty cocktails. I got the Rosemary Me ($15) and my friend got the Blood Moon ($15). The Rosemary Me was sweet and fruity whereas the Blood Moon had a slight bitter after taste.

Loved this little hole in the wall! We ordered - mushroom ravioli - fried chicken - tranquility - shipwrecked Drinks are super strong! Food is not filling but the chicken was so i highly recommend if you're not looking to eat a lot or spend a lot.

Love this place and am so excited by the seasonal menus! This restaurant is the first one I've been to in Boston where they actually acknowledge the special note you put on a reservation as well. I came with a friend for a celebration and they immediately brought out 2 complimentary glasses of delicious champagne as soon as we were seated. I loved that it was tapas style so I could try most of the menu. We ordered the Yuzu Honey Greens, Hainan Chicken Arancini, Pork Belly Adobo, Mushroom Ravioli, and finished up with the Pandan Sorbet. The greens were light and citrusy, great start to the meal. The arancini was crispy, but one of the blander dishes, there wasn't much of a ginger flavor like I was expecting. The pork belly was melt in your mouth and honestly didn't need the accompanying sauce, but it was an excellent complement nonetheless. The mushroom ravioli is very rich and the small amount they gave for the dish was perfect so it wasn't too overwhelming. The sorbet turns your mouth green, so I would watch out for that. The servers were kind and accommodating, and the dishes came out at the perfect pace. The cocktails are also a must-try--unique and well balanced. Great for celebrations, date night, or just a nice dinner with friends. Can't wait to come back now that they've added brunch!

2.5 stars Tldr: good drinks, very pricey everything, pay for the ambiance/instagrammability I got the beet drink and my fiancé had the jaded, both of which we enjoyed. But $16 per felt steep. Our other friends got a spicy tequila drink that came with a dried blood orange slice that they lit on fire - fun for the picture but made our whole table smell very smoky. The food is nothing to write home about and for the prices, pretty disappointing. The buffalo fried chicken was a lot of tempura and not a lot of chicken for $28, and the quickle salad was a tiny portion of what could've been garnish for $9. Service was the other redeeming quality, they gave our birthday girls a complimentary shot which was sweet! But overall I don't plan to return.

Came here on a Sunday night and was surprised to find the restaurant almost empty - despite this the vibe was great. There is a seating area as well as a bar. They have a seasonal menu, so the dishes sometimes come and go. We tried the berry salad, xi'an noodles, and fried chicken. The portions are somewhat small with the exception of the fried chicken which helped to make sure we left feeling full! My favorite was the xi'an noodles (and the chili sauce it comes with). Would probably pass on the salad next time. Our server was super kind and attentive. A nice spot!

    Pork Belly Adobo
    Sharon L.

I was really excited to try this new place especially since the menu seemed Asian influenced. The interior is really nice and aesthetic and the staff is nice as well! However the food and pacing that the food came out, was very odd and not quite what I expected. We got the Southern Fried Shoyu Chicken, the Pork Belly adobo and the xian street noodle. The dishes took a really long time to come out especially the noodles. We weren't able to enjoy all the dishes together because the noodles took a really long time. The other 2 dishes still took longer than expected and the first got cold before the second came. The Shoyu fried chicken was a decent portion but the flavors were odd, it had a weird taste to it that just didn't fit my palette. The pork belly adobo was shredded or just chopped into weird pieces which I did not expect since I feel like for pork belly the point is to eat it in slices with the meat and the fat but the flavor was nice and was probably the best dish of the night. It was very heavy however and very oily. The xian noodles had the spicy sauce but I feel like the flavors were not very strong, the spice was numbing but it wasn't flavorful and the noodles were a pasta noodle which I feel like didn't go well with the sauce. We also tried the banana espresso martini drink which was very strong. Additionally the menu is pretty pricey especially for tapas dishes. Lastly what bumped this from a 3 to a 2 was that they charge for water and it wasn't cheap I believe it was $5 (maybe $3 not sure). But I was definitely surprised when I saw the check. Overall wasn't too happy with my dinner.

Ok there was a lot of hustle bustle for this place. I came here for a brunch on a weekend with a friend. The place was fairly empty as it was a chilly day. We asked to be seated outside on the patio. The service I must say was pretty slow given there weren't many customers during the time we went. We both got a couple of drinks and ordered food. The menu had some fusion options. The food was great, the drinks were also great! Overall, it didn't live up to the hype, mainly due to the service.

Came here for the suasday pop up. The Cambodian Sandwiches were the feature event. Lemongrass Chicken, Kroeung Beef Curry , and Pandan Custard. Everything was delicious. Staff was friendly and helpful. The place is very clean.

It was hard to choose one, but I got the A Perfect Circle and it was quite tasty. I'm eager to try some of their other drinks, since the cocktails were definitely the highlight of the experience for me. The dim sum portions were larger than I expected, which meant we ordered way too much food. We had the fried chicken, the cucumber salad, the shrimp, the pork wontons, the soy sauce noodles, the daikon/enoki dish (I forget the name) and the charred broccoli. There wasn't anything I didn't like, but I did find that the flavor profile seemed very similar for many of the items--it seemed like most things were topped with a generous portion of chili oil, scallions, and sesame seeds. I found that this contributed to a fairly uniform flavor experience and was getting a little weary of chili oil after several dishes. The food was also spicier than I anticipated (though to be fair, I have a low spice tolerance, so others might disagree.) I would have enjoyed some less spicy options to balance out our meal. Overall, all the food was good, though, but I think if I come back I'd get fewer items (3-4 would have been plenty for 2 people) and that might also help with everything blurring together. The service was great and our waitstaff was helpful and attentive.

The one star is solely for the cocktails and the excellent service from the bartender. We started with the Hazlet Rye sourdough, which was dense and dry. It was surprising that they thought this was acceptable to serve. For the four courses we had the Hamachi crudo and kohlrabi salad, leek cannelloni, silken tofu and local lobster, and for dessert panna cotta and chocolate torte. The kohlrabi salad was the only bright spot -- it was at least fresh and tasted okay. The hamachi crudo had almost no flavor. The leek cannelloni was overwhelmingly bitter, it was supposed to be a burnt onion miso sauce that tasted totaaly burnt. The silken tofu was literally a large block of tofu with broth poured over it, with no real texture or flavor. The lobster dish was heavy and overly rich. The hollandaise and lobster pie on the side did not balance each other and the overall dish felt dense. Dessert was equally disappointing. The chocolate torte was not a torte but a slice of dry, mediocre cake. A grocery store cake would have been better. The panna cotta was essentially whipped cream and lacked the texture that panna cotta should have. On a positive note, the cocktails were very good. We had the Timepiece and One Tricky Pony and both were excellent. The non alcoholic Automat Spritz was also well done. The bartender provided great service and was the highlight of the night. This restaurant has good reviews and we were super excited to try it. Maybe the Valentine's Day menu was an off night and the regular menu is better. However, at this price point the lack of flavor and cohesion is hard to overlook. There are many better options in this range and we likely won't be back.
