Great date night ambience, solid cocktails and food. Food is Korean fusion tapas style, there were 4 of us so we ordered almost everything on the menu, but they were out of the ribeye. Plates I enjoyed - the ceviche with the coconut milk was refreshing and the creaminess of the coconut balanced the zip of the citrus, the arancini with the gochugang sauce was tasty and good, hamachi crudo was a nice little bite and the noodles had a nice al dente bite, although I wish the chili crisp had more flavor. Most plates were pretty small except the fried chicken. The Choose Wisely cocktail with orange turmeric was my favorite cocktail, it was well balanced and refreshing without being too tart. Would return for an app snack and cocktail vibe. read more

Came by on a last minute reservation on a Friday night. We were excited to try the cocktails and decided to try 2 small dishes as well. For drinks we ordered the K T Party and Ghost in the Melon. I preferred the Ghost in the Melon more because the sweetness from the carmelized sugar cube (that is set on fire) perfectly balanced the smokiness of the mezcal. The K T Party was a little bland for my liking. For food we tried the steak tartare and butter rice ssam. The steak tartare was fresh and flavorful - would definitely get this again. As for the other dish, you can't go wrong with butter rice and king crab. The menu is short and sweet 1 pager. We found the 2 plates we ordered to be on the smaller size so definitely order a variety of things for a full meal. The overall ambiance was cool and their take on modern Korean cuisine is something I haven't seen in Boston yet. Would I go again? Yes, to try the other dishes! read more

What a wonderful restaurant and new addition to the Kendall Square neighborhood. Came here on a Friday night around 8pm--reservations definitely recommended way in advance, since it was hard to get an earlier table! The aesthetics of the place are immediately welcoming, a nice blend of plants and architectural, very sleek. Service was prompt and super friendly; we especially enjoyed our waitress being very attentive and also helpful with how much to order. Onto the food: we were 4 people and got 8 dishes (so almost the whole menu) plus 5-6 drinks. Food first: 1- salad--excellent, one of my favorite dishes of the evening. Fresh yet smoky, with a delightful burst of sweetness from the peaches. If I could eat this salad every day of my life, I would not be upset about it (and I don't love salad)! 2- fried chicken--soooo incredibly delectable. Moist with a perfectly light, crispy coating, and the aioli was to die for. Really well done. Great textural contrast. 3- shrimp toast--a little salty! It was definitely good, but I think the shrimp part of the toast and the aioli combined overwhelmed the beautiful milk bread it was served on. Normally, I wouldn't mind, but the milk bread was so damn good I wish it could've head its own a little more. 4- butter rice ssam (we got 2 of these)--the crowd-pleasing favorite for many at the table. Exceedingly rich but balanced with the crispiness of the seaweed sheets and the king crab. Lucious amounts of king crab, great freshness from the veggies it was dressed with. 5- hwe dup bap--this was the letdown for me. The gochujang, even in a very small quantity, completely overwhelmed the freshness of the fish for me. The fish itself was quite fresh, obviously, sashimi-style, and the rice was lovely. But I felt the dish swung too much between "fresh and pure" (fish, rice, veggies) and "overwhelmingly spicy" (jalapenos and gochujang). Maybe I was just bad at dressing it, though. 6- spaghetti--this dish isn't so much a spaghetti as a red-sauce carbonara of the kind you'll find in izakayas. It was really rich, maybe a bit too much for so late in the meal, but the noodles themselves were perfect and obviously fresh-made. 7- ribeye--quite pricey but really nice. Good wrap options, delicious banchan, and the ribeye itself was prepared to perfection, tender and unadultered. Overall, I loved the food at this restaurant. The drinks were forgettable, though--possibly because soju doesn't really hold up flavor-wise to come through against other, stronger flavors. The prices are certainly steep, so come here for a special occasion. read more

This place is awesome. Stopped by late one night for a drink and a snack. Only downside the kitchen was closed. They should have told us. But all good. The staff were great. Drinks worked. Very cool spot. read more

For a brand new restaurant, I think they have their service well in hand and generally have a good culinary concept. Where things fell down for me is price relative to portions and general novelty of the menu. This restaurant is a small plates venue, but each of the plates is minimum $12 (one as high as $65 for 10oz of wagyu) and you really need 2-3 per person to be satiated. On top of drinks, that's a hefty check per person. That brings me to the food itself; there's a lot of promise in the concept of Korean fusion, but spaghetti with kimchi-flavored butter really misses half the point of Korean cuisine: texture! There were no litany of sauces and little munchies... no stone fried rice... no sticky delicious chicken wings. The menu was downright small and just didn't do the vibe justice. read more

Outstanding spot serving high end, quality (but not pretentious) food, uniquely delicious cocktails, and warm service in a great atmosphere. Everything I had was excellent and had a wonderful time. Try the banana espresso martini. Definitely recommend this place. read more

6/10: Cloud and Spirits has a great location and a cute space. There were some creative touches to the cocktails. The old fashioned comes with some cotton candy, instead of simple syrup. But the food wasn't very memorable. The Xi'an street noodles and mushroom risotto need a bit more salt and umami. They tried to compensate for this by offering sauces on the side. The mussels were decent, but portions were small. The forager's salad was well balanced. The highlight was the arancini. read more

Dined here for the first time recently with friends and had a nice meal. The dishes are on the smaller side. We tried the butter rice ssam, fried chicken, and spaghetti. The rice and spaghetti were so flavorful, rich and full of umami. I liked that you eat the rice with seaweed wrappers. Drinks were pretty decent and the whole vibe and atmosphere of the restaurant was pretty nice. The only slight downside was that during our entire time here, about 3-4 different waiters interrupted us and asked if we had ordered the dish they were holding in their hand. We had to tell them each politely no over and over again. Aside from that, I think this is a nice date night spot or a spot to grab drinks with friends after work. read more

Came here for drinks before going to Mae Asian Eatery next door. It was the slowest service ever; the bartender clearly had zero experience actually making drinks at a fast pace. We stayed for just 1 drink and left. The ambiance + vibe could be improved; they have fake plants everywhere and no art work or anything around the place. My husband went for the food a while back and said it was god awful (honey boo spaghetti like vibes) but their menu has changed since the new chef came in so who knows maybe it is better. We will not be back, though. read more

Visited for a late dinner. The ribeye took a little longer than we'd expected, but we had a couple of cocktails while we waited: banana espress, tranquility, and cloud 9. each delightful and served by a helpful bartender. The ribeye is served as kind of a lettuce wrap situation with lots of sauces and kimchi and i was... confused and slightly overwhelmed because it came out right after we ordered, and the steak itself did take much longer than anticipated so we just looked at it confused for a very long time... anyway, after the kitchen closed, they had a kind of relaxed bar vibe. since it is a little pricier, it probably won't be a go-to for me specifically, but i could see it becoming a really fun place to spend an evening. i'm wishing them lots of luck, and would say it's definitely worth the visit. sorry, no photos, but everything was beautifully presented. read more

I came here Sunday night and did not have to wait long to be seated. I ordered the hamachi crudo, lemongrass meatballs, xi'an street noodle, Pandan sorbet. My favorite dish was the xi'an street noodle with their Housemade cumin chili crisp! The noodles were very smooth and just the right amount of chewiness. I would definitely come back here! read more

Xi'an Street noodle is so good. If you haven't tried it, you're missing out. I love the fresh made noodle with cumin chili crisp.

The food here was definitely very heavy with butter and Mayo. Our favorites were probably the kimchi butter spaghetti and the Hwe Dup Bap. The sashimi was the only non heavy thing that balanced the other dishes. Overall a good dining experience. Would definitely like to see the menu expand to include some healthier options...their drink menu was bigger than the food menu :) read more

The wait staff were so friendly and the food was very good. The hamachi crudo and duck wontons blew us away especially. I was worried at first that we didn't get enough to eat but by the time we were done my husband and I were both stuffed! The dishes did not all come out together, they were actually pretty spaced out - especially the fried chicken which took a long time to come out. This worked out fine for us, but I can see how that could mess up someone else's experience. I'd still give 5 stars! We really enjoyed our dinner here. read more

Had a chance to visit for a girl's night! I'm always a little skeptical when visiting Asian fusion restaurants, but this place pleasantly surprised me. Good flavors, textures, and portion sizes. The pork belly adobo was especially amazing with flavors and how tender it was. The jajang flatbread unfortunately left me wanting more. The drinks were creative and a lot of fun -- though the reason I give the establishment a 4 instead of a 5 is due to wishing they were slightly stronger drinks as they were pricey (craft cocktail in Boston prices, I suppose). But maybe that's being picky of me! I did also feel like it was a bit ridiculous that a bottle of soju was $15.. Also wished our bartender was a bit more attentive/engaging! He was still kind nevertheless. All in all, a fun experience! read more

Ordered almost everything except dessert. Server was nice, food came out quickly. For food my Favorites would be the loaded house chips, Crudo, roasted mushroom greens, both the fried chickens were delicious and crispy. The xi'an street noodle came with a pepper sauce on the side, be careful not to put too much in because it definitely had a kick. It was kind of dark and we couldn't see exactly what the sauce was so we ended dumping the whole thing to the noodle... much regret. The only dish I didn't like was the hainan chicken arancini... overwhelming lemongrass flavor. A lot of the dishes in general had their own type of dipping sauce so when the food came out, we forgot which sauce came with what food. Overall food was good but pricey in my opinion. I believe the menu do occasionally change but not sure how often. But when they do I would definitely check them out again. They have street parking. read more

Cloud and Spirits has an exquisite food menu and creative cocktails. The price point is a bit on the higher end but if you look at the ingredients and how it's locally sourced, it is very reasonable. No short cuts and old inventories here. I have visited a few times and I am so happy that they recently switched up or rotated their menu due to season I believe and it was mind blowing good. It's one of the most unique restaurants in the area in my opinion! read more

I definitely recommend going here for drinks! Extensive drinks menu with lots of fun cocktails. One came with edible glitter, another came on fire. I paid $90 for 2 cups of food and less than 8 oz of cocktails - 1 star for great cocktails - 1 star for great service - minus star for mediocre, cheap tasting food - minus star for exorbitant prices - minus star for mouse poop in the bathroom Lychee gazpacho tasted like it had more corn syrup than lychee, quite cheap tasting. The Xian noodles weren't pulled well enough so were clumpy and too chewy in certain places. The red bean ice cream was grainy and didn't include ingredients listed on the menu. For the amount I paid, I will not be coming back. read more

Was slightly disappointed by everything, mostly due to cost. Based on the prices on the menu I would've assumed much larger portions and yet after 4 dishes, 1 drink, and ~$100 our party of 2 left feeling kind of hungry. In terms of food, the aracini has decent flavors out of all of them. The pickled salad was extremely sour, not refreshing like I expected. Mushroom salad was a bit slimy. We also got some ravioli that were deep fried, these didn't really taste like anything to me. I really enjoyed the sandwiches from Mikkusu previously (same chef and team) so that added to my disappointment! read more

This place is just getting off its feet, but the food is already delicious and creative. The shrimp toast was unlike anything I'd tasted before, and the cocktails were super solid. There's a young, cool vibe here that's sometimes hard to find at pricey restaurants in the Boston area! read more

Went here from a dinner and everything was so good. I had the pork belly adobo, mushroom ravioli, hainanese chicken rice arancini, and bluefin. Each dish was interesting and had a unique twist. I love that their menu is seasonal so I can't wait to try it again later in the year. read more

Food: Fancy with good strong flavors but overpriced and not outstanding. We were surprised to learn that 4-6 plates were suggested for a party of two. Everything was heavy and appetizer-y. Drinks: I got "This Pears Well" which was delicious but was probably 4oz of liquid. It came with a MASSIVE ice cube to fill up the small glass. For $14, this came across as pretty cheap. Service: We came around 8:30 on a Friday and it was busy. Service was friendly but felt more casual than the price point. Ambiance: very pretty interior decorating and lighting! Overall: fine experience but don't feel the need to return read more

Made a reservation for 9 a few weeks back for a brunch for myself & my coworkers, but needed to add 2 to the party 2 days out & they were so accommodating! Food was delicious. People loved the avocado toast & the chicken & waffles. For drinks, people got mimosas (they have 4 delicious flavors) and the spiked chocolate milk. Everything was delicious and the staff was so welcoming and took great care of us. Andi & Celia were the best! Thank you Cloud & Spirits for a great time, delicious food & superb service. We had literally finished a three course meal minutes before and we were walking down the block when we passed by this restaurant and thought we would get a couple of drinks on a whim. But then we saw the menu and decided to try the steak tartare and the butter rice ssam (the kitchen closes at 10PM Saturday), with the thought that if we didn't finish we would just take it home. Both dishes were delicious and paired well with their accompanying dishes, though personally I liked the steak tartare paired with the seaweed that came with the butter rice more than the crunchy shell that it came with. The steak tartare was soooo fresh (so important since it's raw) and came with bits of pear that added a burst of flavor. The plates definitely aren't huge though so would recommend sharing a few if you're hungry (or maybe we were just gluttons). Even though we were stuffed from our previous meal, by the time we left our plates were clean and our glasses were empty. The atmosphere was lively at the bar but intimate by the tables, though the music was a bit loud. I would definitely recommend this place for date night out! read more

We ordered the whole menu to share. Dishes were a nice example of fusion. Thrilling, considering much worse attempts at this in Central Square. I wouldn't say the food was mind blowing once-in-a-lifetime experience but the portions were hefty. We shared 9 dishes between 5 people which was more than enough. I would just steer clear of the fried chicken next time which left a lot to desired We had a table of 7 with reservation on Friday night at 7:30 pm and were seated closer to 7:50. Many of us showed up early and we drank by the bar. I had the cloud 9 which is a whiskey drink poured over cotton candy. It was great. The smoke and mirrors was amazing, never had this and will be sure to get it again. Drink orders after we arrived to our table were slow and kept getting forgotten. It seemed like dinner service was really busy at that time Dishes 1. Hainan chicken arancini (3 pieces - tapa size) was good - nothing mind blowing but tasted like arancini does. Which is already heavenly so... 2. Sweet potato croquette (3 pieces - tapa size). I remember this being very light and soft. 3. Southern fried shoyu chicken (2-4 mammoth pieces, meal size). Too much breading so it was easy to get a bite of just breading but no chicken. This dish required the sesame sauce to taste good. I would not get this one again. It would be better if the breading was thinner and if the sesame sauce was tossed in as a coating. 4. Hamachi crudo (5 pieces - small sashimi pieces). Delicious and really light. Small bite appetizer 5. Mushroom ravioli (3 pieces - tapa size). Better than average but nothing mind blowing 6. Gothic wanja meatball (3 pieces - tapa size). Really interesting flavor with the wagyu beef. I was expecting a more delicate texture 7. Suan la duck wonton (3 pieces - tapa size). This was a nice savory bite. 8. Jajang flatbread (6? Pieces) - I remember being somewhat underwhelmed by this 9. Xian street noodle - I might just love noodles and chili oil but...yum!!!! Lastly, the decor was beautiful. I have been to this location before when it was a previous establishment cuchi cuchi, and I can confidently say that Cloud and Spirits is far superior is both food quality and atmosphere! read more

All the drinks and food we ordered was delicious. They did a nice job of coming around and checking in with us. Standouts we're the mulhwe (sashimi in broth) and shrimp toast. We also ordered the steak tartare which was good but a little too heavy on the sauce. Friends we went with enjoyed the butter rice ssam very much. The cloud 9 drink is heavenly and the pouring of it at your table and seeing the cotton candy disintegrate in the drink is pretty cool. The 7-9-5 drink is also good, the little dried seaweed they attach to it is adorable and gives a nice aroma while drinking it. Highly recommend! read more

Waitress was extremely sweet and the ambience was nice. However, the food was not worth the price. The pork belly was pretty good, but not very special.
