Great spot to rest and recharge if you're visiting Chinatown. I decided to check out this coffee shop after eating lunch nearby. I tried the iced Americano and my wife got the latte and it was alright--nothing mind-blowing but smooth and refreshing enough. Definitely better than some places, though it still felt a bit watered down for our taste. The space itself is comfortable, with enough seating to settle in and relax. The atmosphere is nice, and the service was quick. Overall, it's a solid choice, but it might not be worth going out of your way for. A good neighborhood spot for a quick coffee fix only if you happen to be around!

The coffee looked good, but I ordered iced tea instead since it was evening, and it was worth it! Staff was friendly, and I would like to visit again to taste their coffee, as their coffee merchandise collection made me expect high quality.

We stopped by Propaganda Coffee on the whim while walking by last Friday afternoon because I wanted another coffee. They don't roast their own beans, but they do get beans from various roasters. I love that they have a big selection of pour over coffee here! The server was pretty nice and helpful when I asked them for recommendations. I wanted something fruity and a bit crazy/different and they recommended a Colombian light roast (I think) that had a watermelon tasting note. Overall, the pour over was quite good and once it cooled down, it had a fruity sweetness that wasn't overly acidic. It also wasn't bitter, so the water temp they used was perfect. I was pretty impressed with the coffee here and my friend enjoyed his Nitro Cold Brew, too! However, it was a bit odd that it had ice cubes in it. I would recommend Propaganda Coffee if you're in the area and wanting a black coffee!

A quiet subtle coffee shop gem in the main areas of Chinatown that serves modern pastries and coffee. The shop was modern for what its areas that looks so abandoned (sad...) they don't look to make their own beans, but sell various coffee beans by others. Staff was very courteous, kept their chatting to a minimum so it was a great shop to work or just gather your thoughts if you're in the area. The Drinks: Pour Over - Monogram Costa Rica El Pilon wasn't anything specifically unique but sure beats Starbucks! $7 CAD was a bit steep. barrel-aged Cold Brew 4oz $6 CAD - it was strong and definitely had a unique flavor to it that was quite interesting - however I wouldn't say it was worth that price when they have nitro for $5.25.

This was the matcha latte. I added sugar to my liking but was not a huge fan of the flavour profile overall. The colour looks great but I felt that the drink was lacking in depth. I don't think I would get a matcha from here as I feel like there are better matcha shops in the area.

Hot Chocolate and Hojicha Tea

My first time visiting this shop gave me a pleasant and relaxing experience. When you walk in, the inside is quant and refreshing. Instrumentals play in the background and the ambience of the place is casual. Well-kept with good amount of table space. When ordering my snack and drink, the staff were attentive and polite. I would actually give the baked goods and small bites a try, specifically the Brown Butter Chocolate Cookie. The cookie is more similar to a sugar cookie with underlaying tones of chocolate with near-perfect texture. The drinks were good and similar to other prices for a coffee shop. Go with a friend or two to spend some downtime together.

I happened to stumble into Propaganda just before leaving Chinatown in Vancouver; I wasn't even searching out a coffee shop like I typically do. What luck! Friendly staff. Nice, clean, open interior. The latte I ordered was perfect, very smooth. Cute latte art as well. A lovely spot to stop for a coffee break.

Matcha Latte

Stopped by this spot on the way back from a roadtrip and was not disappointed. The Matcha Latte I got had good body and a nice balance of sweet, as well as cute latte art and a glass that they filled all the way to the brim. Had lots of options for group seating and we were able to hang out playing cards for a good while during our short travel break. Really cute and had quick, easy service.

Tourist review! 3.9 stars First time in Vancouver and read about a list of artisan coffee shops in Vancouver that rivaled if not better than Seattle (see my reviews there)! Good article and this place was on the list so I'll breakdown the review into 2 parts: the coffee and the service COFFEE 4.2 stars I was super excited about reading the reviews of this place from the above mentioned article so I tried BOTH the pour over and the espresso. For the pour over I got The Ethiopia Banko Gotti which was excellent, well brewed and as expected wonderful black coffee. For the espresso I got monogram roaster Columbian ordinez. That was interesting because the initial impact was bitterness but quickly dissolved into a interesting taste, meaning, unlike other espressos I've had that's just bitter all the way, this bitterness was only at the initial sip and the finish was not bitter. can't say I was impressed, but I was hesitant to get Colombian because Central American coffee is just aren't for me. SERVICE AND VIBE 2.95 stars So I arrived at precisely 9 AM when they opened. After reading such rave reviews, I was excited to chat with the barista hoping it would be someone else who is passionate about.coffee. This is where it got disappointing quickly. The woman that took my order was so soft-spoken to the point where I had difficulty understanding her and didn't really seem interested in talking about about the coffee when I was asking for suggestions. Also, I was on foot and it was raining so it's possible when I first entered the shop, I looked like many of the homeless people that populate this neighborhood (given my raincoat and hoodie LOLs and hence the greeting understandably "tolerant". I can certainly understand having a business that is so close to an unfortunate population however, it was a disappointing greeting and interaction even after I disclosed that I'm a tourist from California and had red good things about this place. Overall, I think the coffee here is worth it, however, the vibe would say try to other places on the list first.

Matcha cookie and iced chai latte

I ordered an iced chai and a matcha cookie! When I visited it was super hot so I enjoyed both the drink and the cookie-and they were perfect. The iced chai was sweet but good chai flavour and the cookie had a nice crunch. The cookie also had good matcha flavour but not too overwhelming that you can't taste anything else. Overall I recommend visiting this cafe. The service staff is kind and the vibe is super chill.

Latte to go

Was in the area for an appointment and decided to grab a coffee to go and was very happy with the quality and taste (and art!). Was really just a great latte and will be going back when I'm in the area. Interior of the cafe is cute as well.

This is my first time to come here to have coffee. The ambience is very comfortable with contemporary design. It is not too crowded on a Saturday morning. The customer service is great! The barista is very polite and friendly. I order their latte. If I am drinking it as I am typing the review here, it is so good!!!! Very smooth and delicious! And it is not too hot that is burning my tongue. The price is acceptable at $4.75. I would love to come back and enjoy their coffee next time. They just don't have a lot of food options. They do sell some croissants and muffins. That's all.

Situated in the heart of Chinatown, this My favourite Cafe in Vancouver. I've been coming here for years. Consistent ~ Every barista has a high level of skill so whoever makes my drink, it's always great. The ambience is open, uncluttered, relaxing. The music is never too loud and suits the atmosphere. Exceptional coffee, matcha, what have you. Regular & Sparking water on tap. In house made Grilled Paninis & baked goods. Coffee Gear & Merch section Clean Washroom

Great coffee shop. The main reason that I go to Propaganda though is for the nitro latte that they do in the summer, it's awesome.

We ordered the following: Tiramisu Latte Caprese Bite London Fog Apple Cookie Cherry Matcha Tonic Tiramisu Sea Salt Caramel Gelato The Cherry Matcha Tonic was pretty but wasn't too crazy about the flavor. I should have just gone with my original gut instinct and chosen a hot beverage like Hojicha Latte or something like that. I was sort of thirsting for something cooler for a change though, and the Cherry Matcha Tonic was the first "cool" drink that caught my eye so I decided to go for it. Won't do that again. Everything else was good though. The Sea Salt Caramel Gelato was the star of the show! In the store there's a sign beneath their gelato section that says "Canadian Gelato Champion". I believe it after tasting the Sea Salt Caramel! They had Nama Chocolates too. I was tempted to get some but...only so much a person's wallet and waistline can handle at one time. Will try the Nama Chocolate some other time. You can order in person here, or you can place an "Express" order at the Kiosk. We tried both ways of ordering. Ordered at the counter first and then after finished my Cherry Matcha Tonic decided I wanted to try the Sea Salt Gelato so then tried ordering that from the Kiosk. Most of the parking in this area is paid but I lucked out and got a free spot right around the corner from this place!

Knowing how good 49th Parallel is with coffee I thought I'd try their version of the London Fog. I wasn't disappointed. In fact it was best London Fog I've ever had. I've had them at other places but I've never seen a preparation like 49th. They use loose leaf Earl Gray tea in a tall paper tea bag. They put the bag in your cup pour the steamed milk in and the tea steeps right into the milk. It's the smoothest London Fog I've had and isn't cloyingly sweet like many I've had.

I was in need of a snack and this was a short walk from our hotel. 49th Parallel is well known for their thoughtfully sourced, house-roasted coffees and their cult-favorite donuts, but they also offer a small menu of sandwiches if you're looking for something more filling. It wasn't too busy when we got there, though most of the tables were taken. We ordered a mix of sweet and savory: the chestnut brûlée donut, a salted caramel old fashioned, and a couple of breakfast sandwiches--the Doug and the Cascadia--both served on soft, buttery brioche buns. My other half also grabbed an Americano to go with it all. The chestnut brûlée donut was my fav of the bunch. The chestnut flavor was perfectly balanced--nice and light. The sandwiches were also good, especially thanks to that pillowy soft brioche. Overall, 49th Parallel was the perfect stop for a small, simple snack! Would recommend.
