When I travel I always have to try local coffee shops!! This one was across the street from my hotel so super convenient! I usually drink iced coffee but it was a cold rainy day so I got a hot dark Belgian chocolate mocha & it was good not super sweet which is the way I like it! It was pricey at close to $9 but was worth it to try it once. The guy at the counter was super nice & I received my coffee right away. Love the art on top of the coffee!! read more

I came to Wave Coffee, about 2 minutes' walk from the hotel, around 9 o'clock this morning on Sat. There were a few customers in the store, but it wasn't crowded at all. I, who had no appetite, looked into the bake case to see what to eat for breakfast. I don't usually eat muffins, but I caught my eye with cranberries, bitter orange muffins, lemons, and zucchini muffins. Then, I ordered both and ordered the store's signature Nanaimo. I decided to try Wave au lait for drinks. I didn't add the tip because it was to go when I paid. Maybe that's why the women on the staff didn't smile at me and told me to come get the drink. I feel that tipping is becoming commonplace but requires a smile and gratitude. I took it back to the hotel and had cranberry orange muffin and Wave au lait, and it tasted good. I couldn't eat anything else, but I'm sure good taste! read more

Unfortunately I have to give yet another disappointing review. I really wish I didn't have too, but it seems a lot of places I go to don't seem to get my order correctly. Maybe it's for their inability to pay attention or they just don't care. First time coming to this Waves location. I ordered a jasmine green tea with extra milk to cool it a bit. When I got the tea it was warm and didn't taste at all of green tea and more like a cup of luke warm milk. The lady never allowed the tea bag to properly steep before putting an extreme amount of milk. If you are unsure about something always communicated with the customer and don't just assume. I ordered my drink three times and they still gave me a hot drink instead of a frappe. The board that the customer sees doesn't detail what type of drink you're paying for so I was questioning the accuracy. They actually made me run my card for 11 cents after they messed up the order. This Wave locates in a very nice location near downtown in Yaletown. Its on the first floor of TV Tower building. Lots of residence come have get their coffee here. Their coffee is the same as any other wave. I like the fact they have 3 kinds of sugar. Sugarcane sugar or regular sugar. For honey you will have to ask. They have a a good number of seats inside. They used to have a free drip coffee deal in mobile bandit but that is gone. Guess this location got too busy. No need for advertisement or promo like that. read more

Came here for a random coffee. Place is brand spanking new. As with all other locations, Waves has Wi-fi. Service was very courteous and friendly. Maybe this is true across the whole chain, but this location has sugar-free sweetener and honey sweetener (Starbucks-style) available at the cream + sugar station. This is definitely welcome as I actually prefer this to traditional sugar packs. Easier to mix. Oh, and the wide glass front is nice for watching people walking by. read more

Easy to find and great service. You do have to remember to ask for the code to the bathroom, but as long as it isn't a busy time that isn't an issue. Recommend for a quick stop or an extended stay. read more

This coffee shop was literally right across the street from our hotel (where we stayed during our most recent visit to Vancouver), so it was super convenient for us to visit a few times to get coffee to go. I can't comment on the availability or accessibility of power outlets here as we never stayed to eat or drink in, but there seemed to be ample seating and tables and chairs for folks present whenever we popped in. Ordering was always quick and easy and the ladies who took our orders and at the cash were very pleasant and friendly. And our coffees were consistently delicious! Convenient location and very close to the BC Place. Most of the staffs are so lovely!! But they're is a gal (I believe she might be the supervisor or something) who's doing the night shift... She was getting so cranky when it was the month of January...Their famous latte was 2$ for the whole month... I still don't really understand that she was bothered by the fact I ordered a coffee for TO GO and a goodie FOR HERE. What's the problem is? You hate your job or the fact you will have to use a paper cup? Also she was also kinda of laughing at the customers just before me... I'm glad I didn't look at the reviews before I came to this place. I stopped on my way back to my hotel room and it did not disappoint. It has a very urban, modern feel, and it was very welcoming. The baristas were all super nice, and it did not take long at all to get my coffee. I am obsessed with the maple macchiato, and even went back multiple times before the end of my trip. Definitely worth a try! I liked it more than some of the better rated coffee shops that I tried in the area. read more

To be honest waves and blenz are coffee houses i rarely point my toes at. In my opinion most always seem the least personable, cattle lineup generic non-friendly places around... However this super trendy upbeat location has the atmosphere..... And they have a four seater meeting room that can be reserved if needed. If only the staff made the effort in being personable? They use Harvey & Son's tea. This place appeared to be new? Very clean on the inside and modern, and stylish. Service was very good, and I ordered a rather expensive Soy London Fog Latte. It was the best London Fog I think I've had! Wish I would've asked what syrups they use, because it was just delicious. Yep, it's another coffee shop, with specialty coffees and teas and eats and free wifi. It's got a board room in the back that you can rent for meetings and such. The meeting space is a nice touch. I'd say you could comfortably fit 6-8 people in there. The shop is always clean. The employees are on their game any time I've been in. They do a good job of keeping the consistency of what you'd expect from any other Waves location. So on that note, if you like Waves elsewhere, you'll enjoy this one too. If you're super into your coffee experience, small batch roasting, etc, I'd skip. read more

Nicest Waves Ive been to, and I thought the Poco Shaughnessey was the bomb! What takes the cake is the sectioned off areas, plus the communal bar counter, as well as the action window seating at the front ;) Plus the high loft, glass floor to ceiling for great natural light. Decent drinks, good service, awkward space. I popped in here for a meeting with some folks as it was just around the corner from their office. We grabbed our drinks, which were promptly made, and found a spot. The space is a bit of an odd shape, so you do have to do a bit of hunting to find seats - we ended up at the bar style seating near the door, which is fine. I had an almond milk London Fog, and it was pretty good - warm and wet, as my mum would say! The service was speedy - they're clearly used to having a lot of people through the door. A good place for a quick meeting or to grab a coffee and run, but not somewhere I'd spend hours just reading a book and relaxing! read more

Take heed, o Starbucks with the uncomfortable seating. Wifi: pretty good, no fuss. It seems like there are no power plugs, but it's just that they are well hidden. There is a countertop with chairs running along the window on the right, facing the street. Plugs on the underside of the countertop (not by the floor). Good location, airy high ceilings, South-facing high windows. This is a good space to come on a sunny day and even has a little patio. Coffee's good. Food seems pretty run of the mill. read more

My friend and I have to work on business stuff about 3 times a week, and during the rainy days we've somehow ended up making this our second home as it's in between our places. Neither of us our coffee drinkers, but we have nothing but praise for this surprise gem of a franchise. Sure, on the surface there's nothing that really sets it apart from any other place like Blenz, Starbucks, Second Cup, JJ Bean etc --but after spending so much time here I've gotta give it a great review for a few reasons. 1) The staff is extremely nice, and they go out of there way to always ensure we're taken care of, and they're always friendly to us --even when we're there for 4 to 5 hours. 2) They have a small meeting room. We don't always get it, but when we do, it makes our meetings even better with the added privacy. I've not seen this type of thing anywhere else. 3) Despite the fact that I may come off as a pretentious stereotype hipster, sitting on my laptop in a coffee shop, I am furthest from it. As such, I've never really explored what probably makes them great, but I have had a lot of their food, dessert and some teas. They have a great selection of teas, some unique flavours, and surprisingly amazing food. The sandwiches are great, huge servings, and their dessert is equally tasty. Again, I feel strange recommending a franchised coffee place, but this Waves in particular is great! read more

As expected there were very few coffee shops open Christmas day with Waves being one of them. Unfortunately, it would have been better to stay at home as the lattes served were likely the worst one that we have ever tried. Coffee flavour was non-existent leaving essentially a cup of hot milk. As chain coffee goes, Vancouver seems to have a knack for create inviting spaces and consistently pleasant coffee. I felt welcome here, and the coffee wasn't too bad. Super spacious location near BC Place with a great view of the city streets. It's not a prime destination for me or anything, but if I need a place to pit stop and get some coffee during a busy day, this is probably going to be one of my go-tos. They also have a weird little corner meeting room with all glass walls. read more
