Lumeire was my favorite cafe I was the first customer when they opened I happened to be walking by and noticed a grand opening so I popped in for a Java and a baked treat. The cashier at the tillis the most kindest nicest friendly petson I have ever met so are the rest of the staff.the main cashier was always dressed with a smile and cheerful friendly demeanor that was genuine, I was away the week they closed so I didn't know they closed. I started going here practically ever day for the treats and coffee and other drinks, because I hate Starbucks the people are not welcoming or friendly but lumeire was always friendly and nice I will miss the staff dearly and the decor was very cozy like the netherlands cafes are. lumiere pls come back we all miss you . solid coffee shop with some asian-oriented flavours. I tried one of their seasonal specials, a hot black sesame latte. Actually pretty good. The ladies at the counter were nice enough. Space is clean. I didnt stay or have any of their food though so cant really comment on more than that. Pricing is high but similar to other local coffee shops. If i was in the area I would come back for their special items. Overall solid 4 stars. A step above any of the big chains for sure. But it isnt good enough that I would go out of my way for it. Lumiere Cafe in central Vancouver has been a gem to us. On a cold, rainy day after Christmas, we decided to stay in and get food delivered to us. Lumiere was on the list. We went with the garlic cheese bun, sausage English muffin, ham a lend cheese croissant, and the London Fog. The food was delivered hot by our Uber Eats driver and everything tasted amazing despite the 35 degree weather. The London Fog is what I have to really highlight. It is an Earl Grey tea latte with a hint of vanilla. I went for the regular sweetness level to taste the true aromatics in this 20 ounce cup. I'll definitely order it again. read more

I got the iced Matcha Meet Hojicha! I felt that the ratio was a bit off as I mostly tasted hojicha and the matcha foam at the top didn't really mix in well regardless of how much I stirred it. The foam was also mostly sweet with not much matcha taste. Overall it tasted like an iced chocolate tea. Seating was quite spacious inside though - I would recommend it for a study spot! read more

It was our first morning in Vancouver and we needed a little pick me up before our trek to Whistler. Looked at our route and Lumiere Cafe popped up on the way and also had favorable reviews and pics. It is located near Yaletown on a busy road. We had to park down the street a bit and walk over. It's a cute shop nestled between other businesses. They have seating outside as well as a very spacious interior. The inside is well lit and neatly decorated. I really liked seeing their coffee roaster proudly displayed where you can watch them work their magic with the assortment of beans they roast in house. We were in there bright and early and possibly the first customers of the day. The nice young lady behind the counter handled our group with ease and have great suggestions. They have your typical coffee shop offerings such as coffee, teas, lattes, espresso, frappes, and pour overs. They also have seasonal items and specialty drinks. I saw that they had a Toffee Crunch Oat Latte and I knew I had to have that. It was cold out so I went with the hot option. Such care was taken with each drink that was being made. I loved the little addition of toffee and some kind of crumble on top. Not only was it aesthetically pleasing, but it also added little bits of flavor with each sip. The coffee itself was delicious. I'm not sure what roast they used in this, but it was quality coffee. They had all kinds of baked goodness for purchase as well. I was driving so I wanted something easy to eat without making a mess so I got the buttered croissant. That thing was so good. It was slightly heated up and tasted like it came right out of the oven. Very trendy cafe near Broadway-City Hall Station. Two main points of appeal: They roast their own coffee beans and the seasonal special drinks are creative and trendy. The specials drinks are not just aesthetically pleasing but also tasty and fun to drink. I really like the donut lattes, which are topped with a salty frothed cream. Even though the coffee could be said to be their specialty, I think the tea-based drinks are just as good as the espresso-baked drinks, at least out of what I've tried. I've only tried the fancy specialty drinks so I can't comment on the straight coffee. From this perspective, the quality of the espresso/tea is not what stands out (it's good but not "special"), but the creative flavours and textures in the drinks. I haven't tried a drink here yet that didn't impress. The baked goods are like 75% hit, 25% miss where it's stale. My favourites have been the salted egg yolk croissant and coffee bun. The salted yolk filling melds together with the croissant and melts in your mouth. The pistachio croissant was also very good with LOTS of pistachio. Least impressive were the almond croissant and the NYC/supreme roll croissants. The almond may have just been an off day. I like the idea of the NYC rolls but the execution here is just not matching with my mental expectation - they are filled with what seems like a buttercream frosting, and it's somewhat cold and hard. Usually the baristas are very friendly and are helpful if you have any menu questions. My last few visits I have been having the problem with getting drinks in a disposable cup even though I order in. If it happens just once I assume it's a mistake and don't let it bother me but it's happened like 3 or 4 times now so I'm starting to get annoyed. read more

I came here for a coffee with my friend after lunch in the neighbourhood. This cafe is highly rated so we gave it a try. They have quite a wide variety of beverages. Now they are promoting their summer sips. I ordered one of them called mango matcha coconut. It was pretty good and very refreshing. It was sweet but not too sweet. My friend ordered an iced oat latte. She loved it so much. The service was good. When we asked the barista questions, she answered them politely. It was our first time visit so the menus, food and beverages were so new to us that we don't even know what to order. They have the regular latte, coffee or tea but of course we wanted to their special beverages. The price was acceptable knowing the special beverages were on the expensive side. They were good so we felt it was worth it. We went on a Saturday but surprisingly the cafe was not too busy. Maybe they need to do some social media posts or more advertising online to get more exposure, so more people know about it. read more

GOOD! The interior was cozy and there were a few indoor sitting and outlets for a study or work session. Theres were some seasonal lattes from honeycomb lattes to black sesame. I ended up getting my basic matcha latte with oat milk and a roasted tea latte with oat milk. They were plenty of lattes with oat milk already so there were any additional charges. The matcha latte was okay, and the roasted tea latte was good, you can really taste the roasted tea. Overall the service and interior were nice, but I did kinda got overwhelmed with the many different options of drinks that were offer. read more

Was originally introduced to Lumiere by Yelp Event. I've been grabbing my coffee here several times since. Usually it's a pour over however I was in a rush and went for a regular drip this week. I think Lumiere is my new favourite for drip. 1 star off, mainly as there is no parking in the front and a longer walk from street/parkade. read more

I came here twice. It was crowded in the late afternoon with almost all tables occupied. There are outlets by the tables along the walls so you do see people working on their laptops. There is a "wifi" looking button on the long bench and no, it's not wireless charging or anything. I asked and was told it was a lock for the bench. It was a storage bench and staff would need to place the "key" on the button to unlock it. Pretty high tech. Just don't be too curious and try to pry or remove it. In the late afternoon, most of the special pastries were sold out. If you are looking to try the different croissants and NYC supreme and cruffins, it is best to go in the morning, before 8am. The savory items like the salted egg yolk croissant and ham and cheese croissant are sold out first in the morning. So I came back when they opened at 7 am. Everything was available. The baked goods are sourced from local bakeries so everything is fresh in the morning. I tried the ham and cheese croissant, salted egg yolk croissant and ube NYC supreme pastry. I also tried the blackforest mocha frap, tiramisu tea latte and regular coffee. I didn't care much for the tiramisu tea latte as it was too milky for me. The blackforest mocha frap was delightful, chocolate with hint of sour cherry. The medium drip coffee was huge! I didn't expect the big cup. That was pretty good, no acidic aftertaste. Not too strong either. I much prefer the savory food like the ham and cheese croissant. The salted egg yolk croissant was a bit disappointing due to the pasty texture. I was expecting a bit of a runny salted egg yolk when heated up. Either it had cooled again as I didn't eat it immediately or it just would not get to the runny texture. The Ube NYC supreme pastry filling was too sweet for me. It was nice but not overly special though. The staff and owner/manager were very friendly. I liked how you can get cold pressed juice here too. There is a promo of a morning combo of any croissant with coffee for $5.99 before 11 am. It is a good deal for breakfast. read more

Dropped by today to check out this place. It's very close to where I work so this might be my usual. Loved the ambiance - clean and modern. Owner is very friendly too. Learned that they opened in February of this year. Target market are office around the Broadway corridor and students. I tried the Black Forest Mocha Frappe and the Salted Egg Yolk Croissant! Lovely Lovely Lovely! The coffee is a new flavor for Thanksgiving, at least that's what I gathered. The croissant has an Asian twist to it. Very yummy indeed. How could I miss this place?? You gotta love that high ceiling upon entrance. From the Stylish and classy set up throughout from a counter with fancy gadgets to the spotless cleanliness, this place speaks elegance for a cafe. Staff is friendly and helpful. I had a iced green tea lemonade to quench my thirst in a calm mild way and it was just right. I might prefer a stronger green tea and linade flavour but the drink is fine. Finally discovered a cafe that I absolutely adore! Serving both as Micro-roasters and Artisan coffee shop, @lumierecafe_broadway is definitely a spot you must check out. What does it mean to be micro-roasters? This means they roast their own coffee beans on site everyday so that the coffee you drink is as fresh as it could be. Their Nitro cold brew is a must try, it was smooth and creamy, and went down so effortlessly. I would also recommend trying their new premium pour overs. Their pour over machine is super high tech and precise, every brew is measured and tempered to the exact Celsius. If you're wanting a coffee alternative, I highly recommend checking out their new Summer Series, my favourites would have to be the Mango Matcha Cloud, Mango Mango Matcha Cloud, Mango Matcha Coconut (for lactose friends) and the Choco Banana is a surprise in your mouth! But in a very good way, it was delicious! Staff are so friendly and knowledgeable about coffee, and the cafe itself is clean, minimalistic and sophisticated. @lumierecafe_broadway is a cafe you must check out if you're in Vancouver! Ubeeeee... omg so good! So I was introduced to Lumiere during a Elite event. I came back on a sunny Monday morning. Needing a coffee and a pastry to start my day. Came in and there was a large group, but right away a very nice gentlemen asked me if he can start something for me, in no rush I told him I was fine. Gave me time to look at all the pastry available. The ube pastry looked amazing and being Filipino I'm very familiar with the flavor. I ordered just a regular black coffee. Walk to the city hall grabbed a bench to enjoy my treats. First bite OMG so good, the pastry was flakey and buttery and you can taste the ube filling. I wanted to run back and grab another one. The staff is always super friendly and attentive. I really love this cafe and will be back soon. read more

Was craving some caffeine in the form of a matcha latte and stumbled upon lumiere on my commute! I ordered an unsweetened matcha latte. The atmosphere of the cafe is very nice and they even have a machine that roast their coffee beans on display. I secretly have high standards for cafes as I used to work as a barista. The equipment in the cafe was very nice, they had 2 steam wands and 1 espresso extracted (from what I could see). The drinks were slow to come out as the workers took their time to make the drinks. I don't mean this in a bad way, but a good way! The workers seemed to be careful and didn't rush their orders. Also, slower service is to be expected at a cafe as it is supposed to be a nice, relaxed vibe. The latte had a nice fine layer of form however the temperature wasn't very hot. The latte was just a little bit above warm and I wished it was just a bit hotter. The flavour of the matcha was really weak. I have a feeling that it might be weak due to the type of matcha used as the latte had a vibrant green colour but all I could taste was milk with the tiniest hint of matcha. I would come here again though to try an espresso based drink next time! read more

this amazing asian-owned cafe in Vancouver serves up the most aesthetic drinks I've seen in the area, perfect for those who want their camera to eat first trust me when I say that you HAVE to save this place because it will be your next favourite hangout. highlights: Lumiere gives off a certain industrial aesthetic. one of my favourite things about them is their micro-roasting and high-tech coffee machines. they roast the raw coffee beans in-house daily and grind them up to ensure that you are getting the freshest possible coffee everyday. no exceptions. the cafe is right across the street from Broadway station so very transit friendly! what we tried: - iced Vienna oat latte - pour over tray - pistachio croissant - pineapple coconut bar - mango coconut matcha (summer sips menu) - mango coconut cloud (summer sips menu) - nitro cold brew I was highly surprised by how elite their foam toppings are. both the Vienna foam and the mango foam was top tier!! the only downside is that I'm probably going to crave the Vienna latte everyday now. it is a must try The pour over tray comes with a seasonal treat on the side and I highly recommend it. The coffee goes down so smooth, even for those who usually don't like their coffee black. we also tried some of their cold brew and nitro cold brew on tap and I loved the nitro cold brew (not pictured). This is the first cafe in the area I've seen with coffee on tap which was really cool.
