Great to work at during non peak hours, there's a rule to put away your laptop if all the tables are full and there are people waiting. The tables are clean, there's no murky smell at the cafe, and the drinks and bread are prepped well. The washroom is clean, and the staff are friendly. Would definitely come back for the vibes, love the music choice too.

Best spot for coffee and matcha I've found in a while! Tried the mango matcha latte and jasmine latte (espresso + jasmine syrup) and both were so unique and delish! Perfect ratios for the drinks and paired perfectly with the chocolate shio bread!

Cafe Algan is such a cute addition to Cambie! It's located on the ground floor of a newly built high rise so the entire area is very modern. There is some free street parking but plenty of paid underground visitor parking (just unfortunately is paid parking). We visited on a Sunday and they were way more busy than I expected. We also happened to arrive during a rush so all the seats were filled and the line went to the door. Luckily, it calmed down right after and we were able to get a table while waiting for our orders. Other reviews have mentioned that they could put in more tables but I think the empty space is really important for the overall aesthetics and makes the place feel much more peaceful than crowded. They have a very nice variety of drinks and baked goods. There were so many things I wanted to try. I ordered the matcha fog which was such a unique and well made drink. I also got a coffee bun and have no complaints :) Overall, I love all the decor and especially the bunny logo! Definitely will try to stop by again in the future.

I love the aesthetic of this place, the pastries look delicious and parking was easy to find. I love the match and London fog mix but I'm not sure if it had enough wow factor for me to get it again. Might stick with my matcha or London fog next time. Both were delicious on its own. The matcha basque is good but I wish we snatched a chocolate crossant or other pastries before they sold. Will have to come back again! No laptop during peak hours. And no wifi.

Not the most comfortable place to sit and chat for a long period of time, but I love the coffee and pastries here. They're absolutely delicious! And I love all the windows that provide ample natural lighting. I'm a particular fan of their iced orange Americano. It's so refreshing. I think it's only a seasonal drink though.

What a cute little cafe in the South Vancouver area! I aboslutely loved the aesthetics of this cafe and not to mention that had just delicious drinks and baked goods. I loved the matcha fog and it wasn't too sweet. I also got the shio pan and with it being heated up, it was so fluffy and tasty. I cannot wait to be back to try more of their drinks and baked goods, and this time maybe sit in to soak up the cozy vibes.

I discovered this place through Instagram and was drawn to the variety of baked goods and drinks they offer. The cafe had a very cozy ambiance. I ordered a Houjicha Latte and a Matcha Croissant to enjoy there, and took home a Biscoff Cookie and Shio Bread. The Houjicha Latte was absolutely delicious, with the perfect level of sweetness and a properly strong Houjicha flavor--I really enjoyed it. The Matcha Croissant was good, I did like the Matcha chocolate on top. The Shio Bread was delicious. The dough was soft and nicely chewy, and the salt flavor was just right. The Biscoff Cookie was on the sweeter side, but I really liked the texture of the cookie dough, and the Biscoff topping was a nice touch. I would love to revisit and try different baked goods and drinks.

Bright, open space with a pretty good selection of baked goods considering they're in their soft opening phase. They even had a vegan croissant. They said they'll be adding more options later on. Prices are on par with other cafes. Items that I tried: Matcha strawberry latte- I got mine with oat milk (additional +0.75). The strawberry puree was sweet and mixed in with the matcha, created a balanced drink. I was happy I could taste the matcha. Egg tart- the crust was flaky and custard creamy. It was not very sweet at all. I actually think it could have been a touch sweeter. Butterscotch cookie- the cookies reminded me of levain cookies. Thick and more cakey (?) not sure if that's the word to describe it, but I liked it. It was sweet but it'd be perfect with coffee. Overall, the vibes of the cafe are great. If I'm in the area, I'd come by again for a drink and baked good.

Visited with a few friends yesterday and had a wonderful experience. The cafe is very spacious, bright and had variety of seating. The cafe works where u order at the counter and they give you a buzzer. I got the iced matcha latte and my friends got the strawberry latte and strawberry matcha latte. The drinks were sooo good the matcha was perfect consistency and color, not too much milk and had a nice toasty taste. I definitely want to come back to try more drinks and pastries

Very cute cafe that recently opened up! The inside is very trendy and cute like the ones you see in Korea/Japan. The only thing is that the seating situation sucks, they're very small tables and usually filled up even though they have a lot of space to add a couple more. If you're coming on a weekend, definitely expect to take it to go unless you're willing to wait for a seat awkwardly. We got the strawberry matcha latte and a matcha lemonade for drinks, which were both $6.50. The drinks were delicious but the size was really small (smaller than a tall at Starbucks). The desserts we got were a classic basque cheesecake and matcha croissant which were also pretty good. Basque Cheesecake was fluffy and moist in the middle and the croissant was flaky, chewy, and not too sweet. These were standouts to me! :) Lastly, we had a teriyaki chicken sandwich. I wanted to try a different flavour but this was the only one they had that day. It was not the best, they heated it up but the inside was still cold and honestly it was just not the vibe with the garlic cheese on top. I'd put this in last place. Overall, the drinks and dessert were good but a tad expensive. I wouldn't go for their savoury items but otherwise it's a cute date or study spot with yummy sweet treats.

Everything was delicious! Drinks were amazing! Pastries so flaky and the best cookies! Went back 2 more times within a week.

Larger versions were available to for the Holiday season. My Peppermint Hot Chocolate was decent. Nothing to write home about. I think it could have been hotter. I've tried some desserts from this place before. I have a feeling if I'd ordered a dessert to go with my hot chocolate, I would have probably been more impressed with the dessert than the hot chocolate. For what they were offering, and compared with other fancy desserts in other places, I think the prices were pretty average. Average these days though tends to be on the pricey side I think, no matter where you go. I didn't feel like splurging on this particular night. Giving this place an "OK" rating since my hot chocolate was really just OK. If you're looking to splurge a bit though, based on my past experience...I'd recommend trying the desserts.

The mains being served smelled quite good in the air, but since I had a big lunch, I just ordered a ginger turmeric tea and a gluten-free tiramisu brownie. There weren't too many GF options but I did enjoy that brownie! My order for those two items totaled to a little less than $14. I found that pricey, especially since my drink was only a 12oz hot tea My take--I probably won't re-order my last order, but I'd like to come by again to try a main menu item and their coffee! :)

The walls are decorated with pictures from Europe and the teacups are very "British." Besides scone and tea, you can get regular food here as well such as fries, salt & pepper chicken, and radish cake to name just a few. You can also get cold drinks like juice & bubble tea, and bubble tea drinks here too. So...not your typical British style Afternoon Tea joint. Kind of half restaurant, half tea place. My friend had a pot of Leisure Fresh Fruit tea and a scone. We'd already had lunch a bit earlier and while my friend had room for a scone, I had zero room in my stomach for any food so I just had a pot of Longan Red Date tea. It was a cold day so a pot of hot tea really hit the spot. I thought it a bit pricy at first, but when the tea came, I saw that the teabags were Fortnum & Mason teabags. That is a very a prestigious company from all the way over in England. When I realized we were drinking Fortnum & Mason tea, all of a sudden $10.25 didn't seem so extravagant any more. My friend said her scone seemed like more of a biscuit than a scone. It came with butter and jam. I think she wished there had been some clotted cream to go with it. I can't say too much about the food as I only had one pot of tea but I was impressed that it was Fortnum & Mason tea, and I very much enjoyed the flavor of the Longan & Red Dates in my tea.

The decorations are dated and they have a couch and TV riiiiight behind the ordering counter, lol. God bless the Chinese uncle that owns and runs the place... he and the lady taking the order barely spoke English, so we stumbled with our Mandarin. I think they even spoke Taiwanese with each other?!? Instead of ordering multiple drinks, we just ordered the one mango lover's coconut pudding. Honestly, we didn't know what the heck we ordered and we ordered it to go. It took a little while to prepare, but when it came we were presented with a coconut wrapped in cellophane. We were intrigued and had to open it right then and there. We were treated to a coconut FILLED with fresh mango, mochi, and pudding... all in a fresh coconut - the coconut meat was thin, so you knew it was juicy and fresh! My oldest kid did his best to claim it all for himself as we all wanted a taste. In the end, we did the only thing logical and had to order a second. I would absolutely, hands-down, recommend this place. The family that owns the place deserves our patronage and they've earned it in their own humble way. God bless.
