Yummm! I had a dark chocolate Tonka bean, perfectly balance flavorful, wasn't heavy, and of course, delicious! Great spot to grab a coffee or work remote. Very elegant pastry and coffee shop with views of ambleside beach. Service was friendly and fast.

This French bakery is located in downtown, a few minutes walk from bus stops. The place is clean and the staff pretty friendly and it offer a variety of sweet and sour menu. With my friend we went there for dessert and ordered a millefeuille and a tiramisu to share, and a pistachio latte to myself. I also get the apple tart and some macarons to go. Everything was delicious, perfectly portion to share for a snack or a dessert time after a heavy meal.

I've been craving Macarons, so I stopped by Thierry and got the below flavors. pistachio strawberry mango raspberry I like their spring/summer collection over their fall/winter one, as I prefer fruity flavors. The mango was my favorite, but the strawberry and raspberry were also very good. Disappointingly the pistachio didn't have much flavor and that was the one that I was most looking forward to eating. The macarons have a nice chewy texture in the middle and a nice outer crust.

Tiramisu, hazelnut cookie and earl pastry

The food was okay. We tried Tiramisu and something which said "earl" pastries. It was hyped, we didn't like it much. Also thought it was super expensive. We didn't find a place to sit in 20 mins, on a Saturday afternoon.

stopped by thierry to see if they had an iced matcha latte. known mostly for their chocolates, macarons, and french pastries, i wasn't expecting much. turns out thierry also happens to make a pretty solid matcha. i watched the barista sift the matcha powder through a fine sieve and hand whisk it to a smooth froth, no shortcuts here. i went with oat milk, no sweetener, and was glad i did. smooth and refreshing, with that earthy depth i actually want from the green stuff, and none of the sweetness that often creeps in. the space leans polished yet inviting: marble floors, warm wood panels wrapping the counters, and a patterned ceiling dotted with round pendant lights. right in the centre, a large oval display table greets you, topped with fresh flowers and lined with jams, biscuits, and confections, the kind of setup that lures you in before you even make it to the pastry case. the display case stretches across the back like a gleaming beacon, with neat rows of cakes, tarts, and chocolates that stop you in your tracks. it's hard not to pause and oooh and ahhh over the selection. my personal go to is the chocolate marquise, layers of hazelnut dacquoise, salted caramel crisp praline, and chocolate mousse. rich, decadent, and a guaranteed crowd pleaser every time i bring it to a gathering. thierry has a way of balancing everyday indulgence with a sense of occasion. whether you're slipping in for a coffee, grabbing a late night dessert, treating yourself to a pastry, or picking up a showstopping cake for dinner, it always feels just a little bit special.

A popular dessert shop/bakery with a wide variety of desserts, chocolates and pastries. Chocolate marquise was good but very rich. Millefeuille and raspberry fromage blanc were the highlights. Millefeuille was well balanced with crisp, caramelized layers of puff pastry, and silky rich pastry cream. Raspberry fromage was light, tangy, and had fresh fruit flavors.

Desserts/pastries that look so pretty with tastes that match, Thierry is your best bet when looking for sweet bites of luxury. We tried both a matcha blackberry eclair and a chocolate marquise (hazelnut dacquoise + salted caramel + crisp praline + chocolate mousse) which were simply divine. If available, pick up some nougat which was far better than store bought stuff that was made months ago. The portions may seem small and the prices are a bit high, but it is luxury within reach and well worth it!

I was having a really bad stomach ache today from dinner a day ago. So I opted to skip dinner, but still wanted a little something. My wife and I came here to share a piece of cake, and some mint tea to soothe my upset stomach. I'm not certain the name of the cake that we ordered. But it was a hazelnut flavor cake with mouse, a lovely layer of caramel, a delicious wafer crust on the bottom, and the entire cake had a wonderful chocolate shell. Everything about Thierry was fantastic in my opinion. Highly recommend this place to satisfy your sweet tooth!

Thierry is so good, it should be considered a "destination" patisserie and coffee shop. It's on Alberni Street just past Georgia Street and the Hotel Vancouver. It has a large "semi heated" patio, and tables inside. This is an amazing place for chocolate or dessert decadence. If you need chocolate overload, order a slice of the Chocolate Marquise. Imagine a gourmet French snickers bar. Dark chocolate ganache covering a thick layer of fluffy milk chocolate on top of another layer or caramel with a hazelnut crunch bottom . I've been here two days in a row, and I'm pretty sure I'll make it three. The Spanish latte and pistachio latte are excellent. They also have croissants and all types of other baked goods. If you want something light order the chocolate mint eclair. Everything here is perfect! The staff are also excellent

    Cassis Yuzu cake

This was the crown jewel of all the places we checked out! I LOVE dessert. It's a must for me to find a dessert on vacations. On our first stop here the Cassis Yuzu cake was recommended because it was a limited time treat for spring. My goodness... It was the perfect combination of textures, sweet, and tanginess. I felt like I was a judge on a baking competition! It's one of those bites that you never forget. I also ordered the pistachio latte. It had a lovely hint of pistachio. Heads up, this latte is not sweet but pairs so well with a dessert (isn't that the only way to drink a latte, though?) On our second visit I had the Chocolate Marquise. Beware... if you love chocolate then you will love this! Layers of chocolate, topped off with chocolate. It's the perfect answer to a serious chocolate craving. I can't wait to come back to Thierry's to see what they'll have next time!

    Apple tart

I got an apple tart here and it was pretty good. I really liked the apple to tart ratio. The apples were very thin and so was the tart. It wasn't too sweet as well. However, it wasn't worth the price for me. Service is just counter service. The cafe itself feels very cozy and seems like a nice place to chill.

Thierry is a very convenient place for business meeting or casual catch up with friends in downtown. Service was honestly lacklustre considering the premium vibe they are trying to convey. If anything, cleanliness could be better because the staffs didn't really clean up the tables between guess. Pastry wise, I've tried their Almond Croissant ($7.45) and Hazelnut Pithivier ($7.45). Interestingly, my experience was very different each visit. The almond croissant was very, very hefty with generous almond filling. It was very sweet but still enjoyable for me (I have a very strong sweet tooth though). The second time I went there, I got the pithivier and another almond croissant. Both pastries were super dry (even a little bit stale) and the paste was very bland. Would be good if they can be more consistent as this makes me hesitate to come back. Coffee was just alright to balance the pastry, go with their hot chocolate if you want a better beverage option.

I visited Thierry twice during my Vancouver vacation, both times before 9 AM so it wasn't too busy. I've tried a latte, croissant, ham & cheese croissant, and some of their chocolates. Everything from their pastries to chocolates to desserts look absolutely beautiful and delicious. They have indoor and covered outdoor seating, and service is quick and friendly.

I happened to have just come out of an afternoon show at Performance Works and as I was walking away from the Performance Works building, I happened to turn my head and see this shop, so decided to check it out. They're a small shop/ workshop that does tours which teach how chocolate is made. When you walk in, you can smell chocolate in the air. The lady in the shop offered some samples of their chocolate. I tried their Tanduay Rum chocolate and their Earl Grey Tea chocolate. According to their website their chocolate is award winning. To be honest though, I wasn't blown away by what I tasted. It wasn't bad but it also didn't taste to me like it was award winning chocolate. I noticed a sign though that said they had a drink which was part of the Koolfest. This is a new festival that started this year and is a celebration of cold drink creations from vendors of the annual Hot Chocolate Festival. Kasama's creation was a Filipino Cacao Husk & Kape Cold Brew with Vanilla Cinnamon Syrup and Ube Cold Foam. I hadn't had any Koolfest drinks yet, this one sounded appealing and to be honest...I'm the kind of person who tends to feel guilty about taking free samples and then not buying anything! So...having sampled the Tanduay Rum and Early Grey Tea chocolates, I decided to buy a Koolfest drink. Not much of a coffee person usually. This might be only the second time I've ever ordered a cold brew drink. I very much enjoyed this drink! For me to enjoy a coffee beverage, it has to be sweet and this one was sweet...but not excessively sweet. I loved the Vanilla Cinnamon flavor in it. It really hit the spot.
