So glad we came when we did because this place gets very busy! Food and drinks were excellent. I ordered a cappuccino and it wasn't a traditional one, but it was still good. Tried the pistachio donut which was amazing and fluffy. We also got the steak and cheese panini and a French toast sandwich. Personally, due to the cheese and ham being very limited in the French toast sandwich; the sweetness was overpowering. Breka is always a hit. I enjoy their sweets (cheesecake, tiramisu, matcha cream puffs). Great savoury items as well! I do wish this location would bring back the spicy chicken and bacon panini. They accept online orders for pickup now which is convenient considering there is always a lineup. read more

Yes for the good food ! The service was mediocre for sure . We came here a couple of times as it was near our hotel. Incredible array of sweet and savory foods and breads. Busy open 24 hrs coffee shop. Was bustling all the time it seemed ! We got croissants, sandwiches and coffee from here and I asked for my croissant to be heated up and then they proceeded to forgot to bag it and we left without it. Unfortunately we moved offices just across the street from this Breka location. I wish I could I could say I hate Breka however I have been going to the Fraser location for years and I never had any issues... so I thought this location would be the same... Nope! Not even close. The worst staff and customer experience ever. Food is ok. For me it's always the crappy service and the rude staff. What an amazing place. Food was incredible. I had the beef and cheese sandwich. Very flavorful. My wife had the turkey and motzerella. She thought this may have been the best sandwich she ever had. Breka breka. So nice that it's open all day and all night. The convenience of having a place to go to that's affordable & bustling with people at all hours. Small shop but often easy to find seating. The workers are all usually very nice. The pastries are sometimes a bit sweeter than I'd like but I'm sure it's perfect sweetness for most people. I can't explain how much I wish this was where I lived. I had to visit multiple times during my visit to Vancouver. Premium sandwiches at such an affordable price and all locations are open 24/7! My favorite sandwiches were the cretzel ham & cheese and the chicken salad sandwich. They are usually always busy, but the line goes very quickly and the food has always been delicious! Love that this bakery/cafe is open 24 hours!! I came here last night to pick up some pastries for the next day and tried the London fog donut, matcha creme puff, and lychee raspberry eclair. They were all so delicious! The London fog donut was soft and the frosting was sweet and had the strong tea flavor; the matcha creme puff has matcha flavored cream inside and the frosting was perfect; and the lychee raspberry eclair had a light and sweet lychee cream filling with a tangy raspberry frosting on top! First time at this coffee shop/bakery and was very impressed. Recommended by our Uber driver while visiting. Told us to not go to StarBucks, but come here instead. We're glad we did. Can get busy, but they have a system of ordering and paying, and the workers get things going. Drinks are very good, but what I really liked were all the bakery/pastries items that they serve. We stopped by this bakery two mornings in a row, it's a simple unassuming place and it quickly became one of our favorite spots near the hotel. They have a huge variety of pastries along with plenty of warm options.. perfect if you want something hearty for example the spinach & artichoke pocket, the breakfast croissant etc. It can get pretty packed, so I can't say there's a "good" time to go. Our first morning, not even a weekend day, the line was very long but moved surprisingly quickly. Today, there was only one person ahead of us, but by the time we picked up our order, the line was already to the door. Either way, it's worth the wait. A local told us that people trek to Breka from all over for both the food and the opening hours. We decided to make a stop in on our way out from Vancouver. The line was somewhat long but well-organized. Their selection is expansive and I was excited to see sausage rolls like the ones I used to eat in Australia. I really wanted to order that plus a breakfast sandwich but it was going to be a 15-20 minute wait for them to be heated, which we weren't willing to do. Instead we got a couple of plain croissants which were not very good, an almond/chocolate croissant which my bf said was excellent, and a pistachio donut which was alright. Stumbled upon this little bakery after a 6 mile stroll along the Stanley Park Seawall. It was pretty tiny on the inside with a short line that moved pretty quickly, almost too quickly for me to decide which of the dozens of beautiful cakes and pastries to get. Went for the Matcha Cream Puff and was shocked by how much cream filling oozed out when I cut into it. A definite plus when the cream puff isn't all puff and no cream. I could taste the bitterness of the matcha in the filling and it wasn't too sweet, which balanced out the sweetness of the matcha/chocolate shell on top. The cake crossed the border back to Washington with me and held up well in a cooler. I should have guessed, given its name, that it would be tart, but I was still surprised by how tart (and somewhat bitter) it was. I feel like I didn't enjoy it as much as I wish I had. More sponge at the bottom would have been nice to offset all the creaminess. The cake was so beautifully constructed though, and I definitely want to try more of their treats the next time I visit! read more

I only tried the pastries, but I am so, so, so jealous that Vancouver gets to have this adorable bakery with quality food open literally 24/7. I'm a total night owl and I would be here constantly. I went around 11:30 PM on a Saturday and there was a consistent line at the counter, though it moved very quickly. There were always a couple empty tables and plenty of folks doing work or catching up with friends. Chocolate Eclair (3.5/5): The chocolate shell was a little too thick and the choux was inevitably a bit soggy, but it held up decently well considering they were pre-filled and left in the pastry display. Blackberry and Lime Mousse (4.25/5): Fantastic texture and I really enjoyed how the tartness of the lime cut through the sweetness. Tiramisu (4/5): A little too sweet and way, way too much cocoa powder on the top. I liked how creamy it was, but FYI it was a lot less lady finger / cake and more cream depending on your preference. Banoffee Tart (4/5): The pastry crust was a little thick, but super buttery. Great combination of caramel, banana, and coffee, was just a little messy to eat as I really can't imagine eating this with a fork. read more

Food is good. The spinach artichoke is a great choice for a savoury snack. My favourite thing to get here is the apple chia pudding (sooo delicious). Try the raspberry white moka, you are going to love it! They are friendly and try to place orders quickly. Came here for a quick dessert, and absolutely loved the matcha bun. It has a matcha mouse/ cream inside as well, with good flavour - light, and good matcha flavour. Not too creamy or too sweet. Price was very reasonable at $6 as well. I suggest trying this! read more

Stopped by to buy a pastry called a Copenhagen, but to my suprise said pastry looked more like a cinnamon bun, oh well, will try but visually not what a Copenhagen should look like. Will let you all know my interpretation of a Copenhagen! After eaten what it is????? I bought. Bill lewis Ok here is what I think of your Copenhagen. It is more like a cinnamon bun with some custard in the bottom. Should be a well buttered puff pastery with an almonds based glaze no taller in height than 1in. All cooked in. Love the selection here! It was our first time at a Breka chain and we were so amazed with all the cakes, pastries, cookies, donuts and sandwiches! We decided to get one sandwich and pastry each and shared a drink. I do wish they didn't smush the sandwiches as much in their press when they reheat but I was overall really impressed with the cretzel sandwich. I mean, I love croissants and pretzels so this was the perfect combination and it went really well with the ham and cheese. Would pass on the pocket next time... Kind of just like a microwave hot pocket, but more expensive. We enjoyed the scone and the London fog donut, and would love to try the other sweets next time. For the drink, we got a chai latte to go (I didn't realize they charge extra for take out cups). I really liked it, it had good flavour and was not too sweet. Definitely better than the chai from the big chains. Overall, great place for a quick breakfast/snack. This location does have free street parking in the early morning hours which is convenient. Would love to come back to try the other stuff if I'm ever back in Vancouver. read more

What a wonderful place! As a native German who has travelled the world, I know my baked goods. Breka has great patisseries and other baked goods. From breads to pastries to cakes. I'd concur with the Yelp overall rating on Breka. Kudos for being an all night spot where one can pick up quality baked goods. Being as such, like another all night coffee shop in the area, they occasionally have to deal with homeless people seeking a bit of warmth, and there's a considerable population of them in the area. Didn't present a problem for me, but if you're there early don't be surprised to see them. And not necessarily a part of their rating, just an observation. Only downside for me is I wanted just a cup of black coffee and they don't serve black coffee. They'll make you an Americano, which just isn't my thing. Kind of stunned by this but maybe this is typical in the city? Can't be sure. I opted for a short espresso instead. The baked goods are expansive and range from sweet to savory, and breads, too. With lots of people living within the immediate area this is a good source of quality baked goods so I can heartily recommend it. read more

Came at around 9 AM and there was a bit of line. We ordered Chipotle chicken & bacon pocket, steak &cheese panini, chocolate almond croissant, and iced caramel latte. The chicken bacon pocket and steak panini was delicious. The bread was soft and not hard at all. I saw alot of people got the chocolate almond croissant, so I gave it a try and it wasn't my favorite. The flavor of the chocolate is good but the croissant itself was dry and not flaky at all. As for the iced coffee, it is more milk based and barely taste the coffee and flavor. The tables is a bit dirty there and they do not wipe it down. Overall decent place for some quick breakfast. read more
