Café Monet is a highly popular spot right on Robson, and it's easy to see why. I dropped in on a weekday afternoon, and even though the place was quite busy, the staff was incredibly welcoming, and the entire facility was clean and well-maintained. They have a massive selection of treats to choose from, but I opted for the coffee cream donut and the matcha donut. Both were fantastic, and I left really happy with the experience. We visited Cafe Monet before Whitecaps game. The location is very convenient. This place is good to grab some baking goods or drinks. What we got: Dubai Chocolate croissant, ham sandwich and donut. I did not have sandwich and donut. I was told they were just ok. Dubai Chocolate croissant was good. It was covered by a lot of chocolate coating and there were a lot of kataifi inside. It was definitely sweet side, as a dessert, it worth trying it. Next time, I would like to try some of their cakes. read more

dropped by cafe monet on robson, on the same block as hmart, around 5:30 pm on a monday and it was still kinda busy, clearly a popular spot. the café has a bright, modern look with pale wood, grey seating, and soft lighting that gives it a calm but lively energy. the large front windows bring in plenty of light and make it a nice place to people watch, while the low chatter of customers adds to the cozy, relaxed feel. there's a mix of tables and cushioned benches with small round tabletops, so it's easy to settle in whether you're catching up with friends or taking a quiet moment for yourself. went for both the coffee cream and milk cream donuts. the coffee cream one was generously filled and not overly sweet, which i liked, though the donut itself wasn't as fresh or pillowy soft as i'd hoped, maybe just the time of day. it feels like the kind of spot where the pastries shine brightest earlier, fresh from the kitchen. had the milk cream donut two days later, and that one was just as good, soft, creamy, covered in icing sugar that gets everywhere in the best way. big, satisfying bites without being too sweet. overall, cafe monet delivers a solid treat with a welcoming vibe, worth a stop if you're nearby and craving something light but indulgent. read more

This cafe is located right next to H mart. I've tried their pastries as they sell their clearance packs snd fresh pastries in H mart. I went there for a second visit this time. Nutty Redbean pastry ($6.50) and Iced Americano ($4.50) were good. The bun was huge filled with lots of cream and some red bean fillings. The price for the bun was expensive, but it was worth it. Iced Americano was a bit bitter. It tasted little better after mixing some water. I couldn't find my seat at first and was able to find it about 5-10 minutes later. Staff were friendly. I also received a stamp for the drink and food purchase. I'd totally visit here again! read more

Stumbled upon this cafe and tried out their mango cream donut as well as the matcha croissant. To my surprise, the croissant was filled with super thick matcha custard (not whipped cream). Cafe Monet I found while staying in Vancouver. It's convenient because it's open from 7 am. The lady in the store is very pleasant. First of all, there were so many items that I couldn't decide because there were so many things I wanted to eat. So I've been here for two days. The cinnamon honey latte had a pleasant taste in the morning. And almond croissants and matcha croissants are my favorites. Next time, I want to eat an egg sandwich. A really cute and clean little Asian and Western style cafe. I've tried a few of their pastries and haven't been disappointed yet. They range from savory, sweet, flakey, buttery, soft, crunchy... You name it. My new favorite is the donut with sausage inside. It's light and not too sweet, but satisfying to eat. The sandwiches are fine, but a tiny bit on the expensive side. Cafe monet seems like they would deliver a legit iced matcha latte, so I decided to come here. It's unheard of to charge 50 cents for a drink that is iced for not much product. 75% of the drink was ice. Their matcha scone is so good and it pairs well with the matcha latte. The Asian girl working at 7:45 pm on Thursday 06/19 was so snobby and rude. I was looking up at the menu and she gave us attitude asking "Are you going to order?" Well can you wait? I'm literally looking at what I'm going to order. Then I ordered an iced matcha latte, gave me a hot one, told me I didn't say ice when everyone else around me heard me say ice. A homey, but tiny cafe filled with pretentious readers and people who for some reason go to smallest, most cramped, coffee shops they can find to hog all the seats. Annoying for those who want to grab a coffee and snack, and leave after quickly finishing. But the wide variety of baked goods, donuts, cookies, and even garlic bread makes up for it. I liked the creative flavors and vast options they had, eventually settling on either a matcha cookie or matcha filled donut. I went with the latter, and I was not disappointed. The matcha donut has soft, fresh, fluffy dough and doesn't leave you feeling overwhelmingly guilty for the empty calories you're about to consume. Filled (extremely) to the brim with matcha cream which stays true to its natural taste. Bitter, but not to the point where you want to spit it out. A little sweeter would be nice, but that's just me, didn't end up finishing it. Overall one of the better donuts I've had. read more

Very cute cafe with a great variety! They are open later than other bakeries, so this made for a great post-dinner treat. We got a red-bean donut and a black sesame ball of fried dough, and both were very tasty! You serve yourself with a tray and set of tongs, walk up to the counter and they ring you up. Walking along Robson in search of coffee, and decided to check Cafe Monet out as we noticed several baked goods that looked interesting. Hubs couldn't resist the dark chocolate croissant and I was about to pick up a black sesame donut when I noticed the different scones offerings. I love scones! There were several that seemed interesting, but I decided on the Earl Grey. We also ordered an Americano and Vanilla latte. Comfortable place to sit and enjoy our coffees and pastries. Hubs was very happy with his chocolate croissant. The scone was just the way I like it - crunchy outside and soft inside. And that coating just added extra oomph - not too sweet and great complement to the scone. Our coffees also paired nicely. There were other pastries being brought out while we sat there. This Korean bakery is an offshoot of the H Mart around the corner. You grab tongs and a tray and can browse and grab the pastries you want. They have a really big selection that includes sweet and savoury breads, scones, donuts, box cakes, cookies, and even sandwiches, as well as all the standard coffee/tea options plus some creative seasonal drinks. The prices are pretty good, especially if you take advantage of the early bird special where you can get 10% off before a certain time (I can't remember exactly what that cutoff is - I usually come before 9 but I think it extends for at least another hour). The baked goods are always very fresh and the Korean flavours are a welcome change from what most coffee shops offer. I actually really like the sandwiches; they're premade for grab-and-go but still seem pretty fresh, and the tuna and egg salad sandwiches are stuffed with filling. The coffee and matcha are so-so, but the seasonal specialty drinks are very good, though they do tend to be very sweet. The staff is mostly pretty nice; it varies from person to person but I've definitely never gotten bad service here. The wait for drinks is always pretty reasonable, even when it gets busy in the afternoon. Note for special diets: all of the tiramisus contain gelatin (this is noted if you order online, but not in the shop). Also, they have oat milk for drinks but none of the food is vegan. A cute Korean cafe opened by H mart - you can definitely see the Korean influence here. They have a large number of baked goods but we only ended up getting an early gray cream filled donuts which was soft, fluffy, and delicious. They had some other baked goods which I originally wasn't drawn to but given how good their donut was, I might have to reconsider next time as well as get one of the delicious drinks on their menu! read more

Came here on a Saturday. The place was packed full of people but we were lucky enough to get a spot. They have all the baked goods out for you to grab (very Korean cafe vibes). We also ordered an iced caramel macchiato. It's definitely on the sweeter side. We also tried the raspberry scone, matcha donut and classic croquette. The croquette was way too oily. Good amount of potato filling and not overly salty but way too oily. Would not recommend. The matcha donut had way too much food colouring in it for it to be a natural shade of green. It has very little matcha flavour. Wasn't too sweet and the donut itself was fluffy. But there was just too much cream. Would not recommend. The raspberry scone was my favourite out of the three. It's a little dry. The raspberry jam gave it the perfect sweetness. Would recommend the scones Also had the glutinous rice donut - nice and chewy. Reminds me of the stalls in Korea. So first: I've come to the conclusion that I don't like matcha. So I didn't really care for what I got. That being said, I think someone who did like matcha would have enjoyed it.
