Absolutely loved this cafe. I went on a weekday morning and there was a line to order so definitely recommend getting here early! Once you place your order they give you a table and bring your food out to you once it's ready. There's also a sign saying seats are assigned. We really appreciated that they enforced this since there was a group behind us that tried cutting the line to get seats. I got the matcha ube latte, pork belly benny and a pastry. The pastry was nice and flaky, I liked the sweetness of the ube with the bitterness of the matcha, and the pork belly benjy was so soft and melted in my mouth. The benny did seem a bit pricy but it definitely delivered with the quality. I'll be coming back the next time I'm in town!
Beautiful space, modern, airy, and worth seeing. Coffee is solid and well-made. Matcha was smooth and not too sweet. Pastries are the highlight very flaky, buttery, and clearly done right. Breakfast sandwich looks rich. Bacon brioche is good, but nothing standout. Busy spot, so don't expect a relaxed vibe. Overall: great for coffee and pastries.
One of the best ube matcha lattes ive ever had. The pastries were absolutely delicious. Such a vibe. You definitely have to add this to your lists of places to go to.
It had been a long time since I went to Nemesis and I was really craving their mortadella sandwich. They always have new drinks and pastries everytime I go. This time I tried their matcha ube latte (iced) and it was SOOO GOOD! The ube and matcha flavours went so well together and complement each other so well. I also tried their new pesto mozzarella swirl that was delicious, I would recommend getting it warmed up. For sweet, I tried their orange chocolate croissant. SO GOOD! It had tiny bits of orange. 5/5 Their service is amazing. Of course, there was a wait but we were a group of 7 and we got in within 20mins on a busy Sunday morning. They weren't able to give us a big table so it was a bit cozy but they were so attentive. I love this location of theirs and I can't wait to come back and try some more new things!
Christmas season's special item - Christmas tree croissant!! Nemesis offers Christmas Tree croissant - mint ganache, raspberry peppermint confit. Christmas tree shape's croissant was very adorable. Bi-color design was very beautiful. Dough was flaky, lighter than I expected. Mint ganache and raspberry peppermint confit paired well. Raspberry confit has strong flavor and more dominant flavor. It was a lot of fun to try Christmas tree croissant! They offer more variety of danishes and other croissant items. I will revisit and want to try them.
Came here for brunch since I heard so many good things about this coffee chain based in vancouver. The architecture of this location was really unique and cool from both inside and outside. It's like an upside down flower(?). They have a garage parking lot and spots dedicated for customers. They are known for the mortadella supreme sandwich, but we didn't get it(lol). We tried their pork belly benny and turkish eggs. The pork belly benny is a biscuit with charcoal hollandaise, black garlic and pearl onion. The black garlic sauce was delicious!! The sour dough bread that came with the turkish eggs was very crunchy and I liked the lamb sausage as well. The iced mocha is is made with dark chocolate, so it wasn't too sweet. The matcha ube had a nice flavor where the ube is stronger at first with the matcha aftertaste.
Came here for a quick stop for coffee and pastries during our trip in Vancouver. I ordered a cortado here and it was honestly so smooth and perfect. The pastries were also good. We got the queen, the cinnamon swirl, a chocolate orange suisse, and a clementine rice pudding crufftin. I loved the rice pudding one and the cinnamon swirl the best. The queen was a bit basic to me, and the chocolate orange suisse was good but I would have liked more of a milk chocolate for the pastry. Otherwsie - the space was beautiful and the service was so wonderful. We were offered waters right when we sat down, and the staff was so attentive when cleaning finished dishes, which at least for me is so uncommon to see at a cafe. Great spot!
Totally get why Nemesis is ranked among the world's best! The cafe is a beautiful red structure and has pretty interiors. It's near Great Northern Way and always busy, so expect a wait -- but it's so worth it. I had the matcha ube latte, Ferrero Rocher Danish, and chocolate orange croissant. The latte was next-level -- the matcha and ube flavors blended perfectly. Pastries were buttery and delicious too. Can't wait to go back and try more!
Best item is the mortadella supreme. Other pastry and croissants are a little lacking- tried the coffee croissant (either not fresh causing it to be not as crispy or it's just made that way). Blue berry danish was also not impressive. Tried both their cookies also not impressive (secret hack: Trader Joe's frozen chocolate chip cookies are really good!) Service - super nice friendly Ambiance - super cute cafe clean modern great vibes
6/5 Wow. Sorry this is gonna be a long review but this place is just WOW. Spent the weekend in Vancouver and I've been wanting to try this place for years, but every visit, when the morning comes, we always opted for a brunch spot or dim sum. Finally gave it a try on our way home and loved it. I always thought it was just a coffee shop. It is so much more. Service - seriously top notch. Woman who took our order walked us through the coffee options, she also took the time to point out the must try pastries, including her personal favorites and ones that might be too rich. While we waited there was a gentleman who came and set us up with cutlery and water. I had no idea it was such a full service establishment. He also would stop in to check on us and refill our waters. Top notch. Ambiance - before you even walk in you're greeted with this red, artistic structure. You can't miss it, immediately catches the eye. Then you walk in to the very bright cafe with a ton of seating and surrounded by windows. Such a nice spot to have a coffee or a meal. Noticed I said meal. Food - AGAIN, I thought this was like a Starbucks. Starbucks could never. I had their ube matcha latte and my fiance had a standard latte. Even with no flavors added her latte was delicious, and my ube matcha was perhaps the best tasting ube beverage I've had. Which is saying something since ube is so overused now days. Here, it tasted like they used actual yams vs a syrup. And the food! I expected just a small pastry selection and some breakfast sandos. Not the case. They have a full breakfast menu. We tried the bodega breakfast sandwich and the pork belly Benedict. The bodega was so good with its chipotle aioli but the star was the CHEESE. Tastes like they grilled it before adding it on, that with the bacon and creamy avacado was chefs kiss. The Benedict was also insane. It had this sauce that triggered a food memory for me that I still can't place, and the pork belly was so tender, and on the side these baby pickled onions that stole the show. We also tried the rice pudding cronut, Pesto Mozzerella pinwheel and the giant cookie from their pastry selection but this review is turning into a novel so I will just say they were all delicious. Don't know why it took so long to try this place but it will be a must stop on every future Vancouver trip!
The best bite I had while visitng Vancouver. One of the friends in our group found this gem on tiktok (for the win). Parking- there's a paid parking garage underground, and you can take the elevator up to main level, and walk over. We arrived, and the line was already formed, but we didn't mind the wait. The structure of the building is unique architecturally. The decor is chic and modern. Lots of seating. But the staff organize the seating. You have to check in with them to put your name on list and they seat you when a table is available. You can't just grab a seat where you want. Service - you order at the front counter near the door and they bring you food. Staff is efficient. Food- per TT, the mortadella sandwhich was the way to go. I ordered that, and it was soo yummy, def recommend. It's a croissant supreme, mortadella (which is pork ops I didnt know that), fried egg, Swiss cheese, mustard aioli. It's an interesting combo, but all of the ingredients work well together. It's ooey gooey. I think everyone really enjoyed the other items they got as well. Good vibes in there.
We found this place on TikTok while doing some research on must stop coffee shops in Vancouver. Social media for the win on this one. I was told this is where we're going and I trusted the process. Pulling up we saw this super cool looking building that was meant to look like an upside down flower. Very unique. The parking option we found was an underground parking garage and the elevator going up put us right outside the shop. If I wasn't already in awe of the exterior, the interior wowed me too. I can't even begin to describe or compare it to something else. Look at the pics to get a good visual. There was a line and the place was packed. We were a group of seven and were nervous we wouldn't get seating. I love how they do not allow people to go hold seats while someone else in your party orders. They also have a 90 minute seating rule that is enforced. We told them our party size and like clockwork, a seat was ready by the time we all ordered. Customer service was great in that regard as well as them giving us great recs. What they are known for is their elevated coffee experience as well as their pastries. Their pastries looked so good but I was in the mood for something more savory. What was recommended was the the Mortadella Supreme. At around 13 bucks for a breakfast sandwich, I was expecting the best breakfast sandwich I have ever had and I will say, it's up there. It came on this beautiful croissant bun, and inside was a good amount of sliced mortadella, a perfectly cooked fried egg, Swiss cheese, and a mustard aioli. The croissant was buttery, flaky and a perfect vessel for all the toppings. The egg was runny like I like it. I'm not a big mustard guy, but the aioli worked so well with this sandwich. It gave a nice tangy flavor that just worked. I tried bites of the Bodega Sando, the Salmon Lox, and the Pork Belly Benny and everything was so delicious too. I washed it down with a Matcha Latte that hit the spot as well. This place was one of my favorite food spots we hit up in Vancouver. They have a few other locations around town as well, but this location looks the coolest. I would come back if in the area.
Nice spot for coffee and pastries! Ambiance is nice and service is quick. Latte was tasty and smooth.

This Nemesis Coffee location looks like a giant pomegranate! The inside is spacious with a few tables and seats. We went on a Tuesday morning, half an hour after opening, and there was already line out the door. They have a vast arrangement of baked goods and specialty coffee, with seasonal offerings. I got their matcha latte with ube foam with had both strong matcha and ube flavors. It was perfectly creamy without being too sweet. I also tried their Matcha Mango Yuzu Cruffin - there's a lot going on, but the mango yuzu cream inside was light and refreshing, and the actual pastry dough was aptly crispy and fluffy. read more
We were in a time constraint but on my last day in Vancouver, but I had to visit this place my sister has been boasting about! Due to no visible parking available, we opted to pay for parking on the street. I felt rushed from the crew member who took my order and had an average tasting matcha ube latte. Boo! I read later on Yelp that Nemesis will offer you a table while you wait for your beverage to be made, bring it to your table and that there is free underground parking! My bad for not reading the tips from my fellow Yelpers first! I was disappointed this time but will visit again to give an update review. read more
Nemesis Coffee was recently voted a top 15 coffee shop in the entire world and for good reason! They have multiple locations, but this spot cannot be missed with its unique red blooming onion like exterior. To get here, there is free underground parking. Inside, they have a stunning interior with a solid amount of seating. Our friends tried some of their award-winning coffees and we also got the Matcha Ube and Matcha Calamansi. All of the staff here are very friendly and welcoming. I can see why this spot is getting the hype it deserves! read more

The food and pastries here are amongst some of the best I've ever eaten before. Living in NYC it's usually easy to compare and rate. This place is the top of them all. The staff is all very polite and welcoming. The service is amazing and speedy. The seating is amazing and the decor and architecture of this entire building and interior is unbelievable. I'll be back before leaving Vancouver. read more
Very cute and unique café. We tried the iced latte and Mortadella Supreme--the perfect combo for a dreamy start to any day. There's a lot of construction happening around that area so there's limited street parking. There was a sign to an underground parkade but I'm not sure how busy it usually is. The cafe was quite busy for a Friday morning. They have a 1.5 hour seating limit, so be mindful of how comfortable you get. Parking 4/5 Service 4.5/5 Food 5/5 Ambiance 5/5 read more
the food was as amazing as i remember it to be since the first time i went!! the service was wonderful, employees were super nice the entire time were there. the space was open and refreshing to be at! i didnt get a drink this time but my fiance highly praises their coffee, ordered it twice - once for dine in, twice to go. their baked goodies and brunch sandwiches are so so good, i havent been anywhere else that has similar goodies be as good as nemesis! read more
I went here on a rainy Saturday around 12pm and there was still quite a long line. We opted to dine-in, which was about a 45 min wait, so I wouldn't recommend unless the outdoor seatings are open. Overall, coffee is amazing but food is overrated. We got the mortadella supreme, bodega sandwich with bacon, pistachio swirl, and tiramisu croissant. We also got the ube matcha latte and the seasonal maple hojicha latte which were prepared well with great latte art. The mortadella supreme was the item I wanted to get here as it is a bit unique. The overall dish falls short of expectations, as the supreme croissant wasn't that flaky and buttery and they give very little ham. On paper, the concept is cool, but it is overrated. The bodega sandwich with bacon is pretty good. The egg is a bit overcooked, but the $3.50 add on for bacon is justifiable with large amounts of bacon added. The pistachio swirl is kind of like croissant but more like a butterfly pastry in a swirl pattern. I didn't really taste much pistachio. The tiramisu croissant is pretty good but sticker shocked that it costed 1.50 more than the most recent menus (used to be $6, now $7.50). It was nonetheless pretty solid and it has a balance of creaminess and buttery notes from the croissant. The people working here need to be better trained and enact better systems in ordering. 3 times they gave us food that were wrong where it should be a table nearby. It was awkward and the cadence of the dishes could be improved. Overall, the coffee is amazing but the food and pastries, I would skip. read more

This place was poppin' in the morning. I initially wanted to try this spot, but the line was too long and there was no more seating. Eventually, I was able to try this spot a few days later. I just needed a little pick me up late in the morning and their matcha latte struck my interest. it was very good! I really loved the vibe of the cafe and the architecture and decor. This is the type of place to hang out and/or work. love this spot. read more
I came here after seeing it listed as one of those 'must-try' cafes in Vancouver. The architecture is definitely unique--it has a flower-like exterior, and inside, it's airy and cozy with a design that almost resembles mushroom gills. It creates a refreshing atmosphere that feels open yet intimate. The cafe has limited hours, which may cater more to the nearby student crowd at Emily Carr University. They're open Monday to Friday from 8 am to 4 pm, and on weekends from 9 am to 5 pm. I ordered the Spicy Hot Chocolate, but honestly, I didn't find it noteworthy, and I probably wouldn't make a special trip back. Their seasonal options like the Hojicha Maple Latte do look fun, though a bit pricey at $7.50. The interior and exterior are standouts among Vancouver's cafes, and the staff were friendly, which added to the pleasant vibe. If you plan to visit, I'd suggest coming earlier in the day to get the best selection from their baked goods section. read more

When we saw that this café was rated 15th best in the WORLD, we had to try it, of course. Verdict: Jonathan says it's good but nothing special. I thought my decaf was very good, smooth, not bitter, and not with that typical chemical taste. The bakery was also good but nothing special. Their policy of assigned seating, however, is absolutely ridiculous. You have to wait 15 to 20 minutes to sit when there are individual sitting at other wise empty tables for four. Then they bring your bakery selections to you while you wait again while they prepare your coffee. This is after waiting 15 minutes in line just to place your order where the order taking is slow as molasses. The venue on the other hand is quite spectacular, and the computerized coffee bean processor is interesting. read more
Visited this coffee shop while on vacation in Vancouver and was blown away! I wasn't expecting much out of a coffee shop with pastries, but turns out they have much more breakfast items and unique pastries than expected. This review is based on 2 separate visits within 3 days. It was sooo good we had to come back before flying home! Plenty of seats both inside and outside. Servers/ workers were very attentive even though we pay at the counter before sitting down. They provide plates and cutlery if you're dining in. The breakfast sandwiches (mortadella and bodega) were mind blowing. The banoffee (banana toffee) cruffin was the best texture and amazing. They really nailed down their croissant texture! Drinks were okay, some were better than others. The latte was very fragrant. I enjoyed it. The matcha drinks could be passed on. Ambiance was calming and pleasing to the eye with the unique building and ceilings. Clean restrooms was a plus. Also parking underground available. read more

Nemesis is the most aesthetic and most viral bakery/cafe in Vancouver beyond doubt. It has been on the top of my to-go list. It has three locations, but this particular location in Great Northern Way is the prettiest among all with its unique dome-shaped roof and high ceilings. Multiple restrooms, plenty of seatings, attentive service, free parking at the parking lot nearby...I can't praise enough. ＊Tiramisu Croissant ** MY FAV. It tasted straight up like tiramisu infused in a croissant! It was generously stuffed with espresso and mascarpone cream. The best bitter-and-sweet pastry a coffee lover could ever ask for. ＊Strawberry Cheesecake Cruffin* All their summer flavored cruffins looked attractive, and it didn't disappoint. When I cut the cruffin, a good amount of strawberry filling oozed out. It had the right amount of sweetness, and the outer layer was crispy and flaky. I also loved the mini jelly garnished on top. ＊Chocolate Cashew Cookie The cookie was large with nice chew and gooey texture. The sprinkled sea salt enhanced the sweetness of chocolate chips. ＊Latte, Flat White, Mocha, Matcha Latte Decent coffee with beautiful latte art. read more
I had to pleasure to try the Matcha Ube Latte and I was so glad I did. This latte was one of my favorites that I've tried in a long time. First, the design on the latte was beautiful with the green and purple making this a photo worthy latte. Second, this latte was very balanced with the two flavors matcha and ube. Last, this latte was served at a perfect temperature and smooth. For the pastries, I had the pull apart and the queen. The queen was my favorite out of the two. The pull apart could have been heated, but still delicious. The service was top notch here and all were very polite. This cafe is definitely worthy of taking pics inside and outside with it's contemporary art feel. read more

Wow. We were visiting Vancouver and this was at the top of the must try list. The building is so cool, both inside and out. There was a small line out the door when we arrived, but it moved quickly. The pastry case was stunning, we had to try hard to narrow down what we wanted and the person working the front was helpful and so friendly. We went with a strawberry cheesecake croissant which my daughter devoured, a cinnamon roll which was decent, and crunchy gorgeous caramelized croissant bundle topped with sea salt aptly named the Queen. I still dream of her once in awhile. We also shared a breakfast sandwich that was delicious and made me feel like we should have ordered at least one more of those to split. I also had the most perfect latte there, definitely the best one I had in Vancouver. The most perfect pastries, top tier coffee, beautiful architecture, and the friendliest employees - it's an absolute must visit. read more
Really cool architecture! Got some good photos of this place. The inside is a vibe as well, it looks billowy and bright. They also happen to have good coffee inside. The nitro cold brew could have been a bit more nitro, it was almost flat by the time they gave it to me. The tiramisu croissant was pretty good, it was moist and soft on the inside! read more

A solid, top tier hot mocha latte with oat milk, and an iced oat latte. Very friendly customer service, and one of the employees was aware to bring us water. It was a hot day despite us sitting indoors. I saw the same employee bring a bowl of water out for some customers who sat outside with their dogs. I appreciate when an individual is aware and appears to care. The decore was very unique and eye-catching. I'm kind of curious how the architecture was chosen for the spot. The spot is clean and there seems to be a lot of natural lighting that makes this place nice. Would highly recommend this place for pure coffee enthusiasts. There is a 30 min. free parking in a structure if you're going for Nemesis Coffee. read more

Super cool dome interior with highly attentive waiters and the friendliest cashiers! This was the first stop of our food crawl so we only ordered a mortadella sandwich and a pistachio swirl. The mortadella sandwich was by far the best sandwich I've ever eaten in my life, but I also don't eat many sandwiches so that could be it too. There was a hint of honey mustard in it which complemented the egg and mortadella so so well. The bun was perfectly glazed and crisp. If I lived in Vancouver, I would come here more often just to get this sandwich! The pistachio swirl we could've gone without. I ended up not finishing it, and I would recommend trying out another pastry instead. Tips: - If you're planning on sharing, ask to have the sandwich cut in half! read more

I wasn't too blown away when trying this place. Wasn't what i envisioned and it was a bit of a bummer. Drove out here on the weekend hyped about trying some pastries and seeing what was on their drink menu. Parking was a real pain and there was like lots of construction. There additionally was a bit of a lineup which wasn't so much the issue ... But the pistachio swirl i ate .. i wish the flavour consistency was more present. I wasn't getting the sweet glazed honey taste throughout it. It was just in random spots .. it was also a bit messy to eat because the pistachio bits kept falling. Not all that sure if the price tag matched the product itself. I'd say if your in the area yeah check it out why not but i don't really think you need to go out of your way to pay a visit. Service was good though and pretty standard. Mind you they don't always have evening in stock either so just gotta test your luck. read more
