Absolutely loved this cafe. I went on a weekday morning and there was a line to order so definitely recommend getting here early! Once you place your order they give you a table and bring your food out to you once it's ready. There's also a sign saying seats are assigned. We really appreciated that they enforced this since there was a group behind us that tried cutting the line to get seats. I got the matcha ube latte, pork belly benny and a pastry. The pastry was nice and flaky, I liked the sweetness of the ube with the bitterness of the matcha, and the pork belly benjy was so soft and melted in my mouth. The benny did seem a bit pricy but it definitely delivered with the quality. I'll be coming back the next time I'm in town! read more

We parked at the 30 mins free underground parking. There was a short (~10mins) lineup when we arrived at around 10am on a Sunday. We got the pastacio raspberry croissant, rice pudding cruffin, salted caramel croissant and the supreme. All the pastries were very delicious. My favorite was the pastacio. And I was pleasantly surprised by the supreme. It has a sauce on it that ties everything very well together. Minus one star because we basically did not get served. It had been a long time since I went to Nemesis and I was really craving their mortadella sandwich. They always have new drinks and pastries everytime I go. This time I tried their matcha ube latte (iced) and it was SOOO GOOD! The ube and matcha flavours went so well together and complement each other so well. I also tried their new pesto mozzarella swirl that was delicious, I would recommend getting it warmed up. For sweet, I tried their orange chocolate croissant. SO GOOD! It had tiny bits of orange. 5/5 Their service is amazing. Of course, there was a wait but we were a group of 7 and we got in within 20mins on a busy Sunday morning. Christmas season's special item - Christmas tree croissant!! Nemesis offers Christmas Tree croissant - mint ganache, raspberry peppermint confit. Christmas tree shape's croissant was very adorable. Bi-color design was very beautiful. Dough was flaky, lighter than I expected. Mint ganache and raspberry peppermint confit paired well. Raspberry confit has strong flavor and more dominant flavor. Came here for a quick stop for coffee and pastries during our trip in Vancouver. I ordered a cortado here and it was honestly so smooth and perfect. The pastries were also good. We got the queen, the cinnamon swirl, a chocolate orange suisse, and a clementine rice pudding crufftin. I loved the rice pudding one and the cinnamon swirl the best. The queen was a bit basic to me, and the chocolate orange suisse was good but I would have liked more of a milk chocolate for the pastry. Otherwsie - the space was beautiful and the service was so wonderful. It's near Great Northern Way and always busy, so expect a wait -- but it's so worth it. I had the matcha ube latte, Ferrero Rocher Danish, and chocolate orange croissant. Came here for brunch since I heard so many good things about this coffee chain based in vancouver. The architecture of this location was really unique and cool from both inside and outside. It's like an upside down flower(?). They have a garage parking lot and spots dedicated for customers. They are known for the mortadella supreme sandwich, but we didn't get it(lol). We tried their pork belly benny and turkish eggs. The pork belly benny is a biscuit with charcoal hollandaise, black garlic and pearl onion. The black garlic sauce was delicious!! The sour dough bread that came with the turkish eggs was very crunchy and I liked the lamb sausage as well. The iced mocha is is made with dark chocolate, so it wasn't too sweet. Spent the weekend in Vancouver and I've been wanting to try this place for years, but every visit, when the morning comes, we always opted for a brunch spot or dim sum. Finally gave it a try on our way home and loved it. I always thought it was just a coffee shop. It is so much more. Service - seriously top notch. Woman who took our order walked us through the coffee options, she also took the time to point out the must try pastries, including her personal favorites and ones that might be too rich. While we waited there was a gentleman who came and set us up with cutlery and water. I had no idea it was such a full service establishment. He also would stop in to check on us and refill our waters. Top notch. Ambiance - before you even walk in you're greeted with this red, artistic structure. You can't miss it, immediately catches the eye. Then you walk in to the very bright cafe with a ton of seating and surrounded by windows. Such a nice spot to have a coffee or a meal. Noticed I said meal. Food - AGAIN, I thought this was like a Starbucks. Starbucks could never. I had their ube matcha latte and my fiance had a standard latte. Even with no flavors added her latte was delicious, and my ube matcha was perhaps the best tasting ube beverage I've had. Which is saying something since ube is so overused now days. Here, it tasted like they used actual yams vs a syrup. And the food! I expected just a small pastry selection and some breakfast sandos. Not the case. They have a full breakfast menu. We tried the bodega breakfast sandwich and the pork belly Benedict. The bodega was so good with its chipotle aioli but the star was the CHEESE. Tastes like they grilled it before adding it on, that with the bacon and creamy avacado was chefs kiss. The Benedict was also insane. It had this sauce that triggered a food memory for me that I still can't place, and the pork belly was so tender, and on the side these baby pickled onions that stole the show. We also tried the rice pudding cronut, Pesto Mozzerella pinwheel and the giant cookie from their pastry selection but this review is turning into a novel so I will just say they were all delicious. The best bite I had while visitng Vancouver. One of the friends in our group found this gem on tiktok (for the win). Parking- there's a paid parking garage underground, and you can take the elevator up to main level, and walk over. We arrived, and the line was already formed, but we didn't mind the wait. The structure of the building is unique architecturally. The decor is chic and modern. Lots of seating. But the staff organize the seating. You have to check in with them to put your name on list and they seat you when a table is available. You can't just grab a seat where you want. Service - you order at the front counter near the door and they bring you food. Staff is efficient. Food- per TT, the mortadella sandwhich was the way to go. I ordered that, and it was soo yummy, def recommend. It's a croissant supreme, mortadella (which is pork ops I didnt know that), fried egg, Swiss cheese, mustard aioli. Found this place through a recommendation on TikTok, from several videos for the breakfast and i completely and wholly heartedly understand why! First off, the whole place is a vibe. From walking up to the beautiful bright red building, to the well lit beautiful decor on the inside. The staff was absolutely amazing! They were so relaxed and helpful as we decided on the breakfast options. I wanted one of everything, but chose to go with what I came for, which was the Mortadella Supreme. I'm not a fan of the real kind of mustard, but I wanted to try the sandwich as is, and I'm so glad I did! The aioli pulls the whole sandwich together. The eggs was perfectly cooked and the crossaint bread and the mortadella!! Like damn...I want this sandwich again!!! Anywho, I could go on forever for that one! We found this place on TikTok while doing some research on must stop coffee shops in Vancouver. Social media for the win on this one. I was told this is where we're going and I trusted the process. Pulling up we saw this super cool looking building that was meant to look like an upside down flower. Very unique. The parking option we found was an underground parking garage and the elevator going up put us right outside the shop. If I wasn't already in awe of the exterior, the interior wowed me too. I can't even begin to describe or compare it to something else. Look at the pics to get a good visual. There was a line and the place was packed. We were a group of seven and were nervous we wouldn't get seating. I love how they do not allow people to go hold seats while someone else in your party orders. They also have a 90 minute seating rule that is enforced. We told them our party size and like clockwork, a seat was ready by the time we all ordered. Customer service was great in that regard as well as them giving us great recs. What they are known for is their elevated coffee experience as well as their pastries. Their pastries looked so good but I was in the mood for something more savory. What was recommended was the the Mortadella Supreme. At around 13 bucks for a breakfast sandwich, I was expecting the best breakfast sandwich I have ever had and I will say, it's up there. It came on this beautiful croissant bun, and inside was a good amount of sliced mortadella, a perfectly cooked fried egg, Swiss cheese, and a mustard aioli. The croissant was buttery, flaky and a perfect vessel for all the toppings. The egg was runny like I like it. I'm not a big mustard guy, but the aioli worked so well with this sandwich. It gave a nice tangy flavor that just worked. I tried bites of the Bodega Sando, the Salmon Lox, and the Pork Belly Benny and everything was so delicious too. I washed it down with a Matcha Latte that hit the spot as well. This place was one of my favorite food spots we hit up in Vancouver. When we saw that this café was rated 15th best in the WORLD, we had to try it, of course. Verdict: Jonathan says it's good but nothing special. I thought my decaf was very good, smooth, not bitter, and not with that typical chemical taste. The bakery was also good but nothing special. Their policy of assigned seating, however, is absolutely ridiculous. You have to wait 15 to 20 minutes to sit when there are individual sitting at other wise empty tables for four. Then they bring your bakery selections to you while you wait again while they prepare your coffee. This is after waiting 15 minutes in line just to place your order where the order taking is slow as molasses. I went here on a rainy Saturday around 12pm and there was still quite a long line. We opted to dine-in, which was about a 45 min wait, so I wouldn't recommend unless the outdoor seatings are open. Overall, coffee is amazing but food is overrated. We got the mortadella supreme, bodega sandwich with bacon, pistachio swirl, and tiramisu croissant. We also got the ube matcha latte and the seasonal maple hojicha latte which were prepared well with great latte art. The mortadella supreme was the item I wanted to get here as it is a bit unique. The overall dish falls short of expectations, as the supreme croissant wasn't that flaky and buttery and they give very little ham. On paper, the concept is cool, but it is overrated. The bodega sandwich with bacon is pretty good. The egg is a bit overcooked, but the $3.50 add on for bacon is justifiable with large amounts of bacon added. The pistachio swirl is kind of like croissant but more like a butterfly pastry in a swirl pattern. I didn't really taste much pistachio. The tiramisu croissant is pretty good but sticker shocked that it costed 1.50 more than the most recent menus (used to be $6, now $7.50). It was nonetheless pretty solid and it has a balance of creaminess and buttery notes from the croissant. The people working here need to be better trained and enact better systems in ordering. 3 times they gave us food that were wrong where it should be a table nearby. It was awkward and the cadence of the dishes could be improved. Overall, the coffee is amazing but the food and pastries, I would skip. read more

This review is based on 2 separate visits within 3 days. It was sooo good we had to come back before flying home! Plenty of seats both inside and outside. Servers/ workers were very attentive even though we pay at the counter before sitting down. They provide plates and cutlery if you're dining in. The breakfast sandwiches (mortadella and bodega) were mind blowing. The banoffee (banana toffee) cruffin was the best texture and amazing. They really nailed down their croissant texture! Drinks were okay, some were better than others. The latte was very fragrant. I enjoyed it. The matcha drinks could be passed on. I had to pleasure to try the Matcha Ube Latte and I was so glad I did. This latte was one of my favorites that I've tried in a long time. First, the design on the latte was beautiful with the green and purple making this a photo worthy latte. Second, this latte was very balanced with the two flavors matcha and ube. Last, this latte was served at a perfect temperature and smooth. For the pastries, I had the pull apart and the queen. The queen was my favorite out of the two. The pull apart could have been heated, but still delicious. The service was top notch here and all were very polite. Wow. We were visiting Vancouver and this was at the top of the must try list. The building is so cool, both inside and out. There was a small line out the door when we arrived, but it moved quickly. The pastry case was stunning, we had to try hard to narrow down what we wanted and the person working the front was helpful and so friendly. We went with a strawberry cheesecake croissant which my daughter devoured, a cinnamon roll which was decent, and crunchy gorgeous caramelized croissant bundle topped with sea salt aptly named the Queen. I still dream of her once in awhile. We also shared a breakfast sandwich that was delicious and made me feel like we should have ordered at least one more of those to split. It was a hot day despite us sitting indoors. I saw the same employee bring a bowl of water out for some customers who sat outside with their dogs. I appreciate when an individual is aware and appears to care. The decore was very unique and eye-catching. I'm kind of curious how the architecture was chosen for the spot. Drove out here on the weekend hyped about trying some pastries and seeing what was on their drink menu. Parking was a real pain and there was like lots of construction. There additionally was a bit of a lineup which wasn't so much the issue ... But the pistachio swirl i ate .. i wish the flavour consistency was more present. I wasn't getting the sweet glazed honey taste throughout it. It was just in random spots .. it was also a bit messy to eat because the pistachio bits kept falling. Not all that sure if the price tag matched the product itself. I'd say if your in the area yeah check it out why not but i don't really think you need to go out of your way to pay a visit. I love checking out local coffee shops and this place is quite popular for good reason! There was a short line-up and a beautiful case of tasty looking baked goods for us to choose from when we visited on a weekday afternoon. The staff was friendly and nice, and they accommodated our preference to be seated nearby the windowed areas. The interior with the flowing mushroom gills fabric on the ceiling and light birch wood dining areas are so creative and stunning! It's such a cool cafe. We ordered a pourover coffee ($5.50), a latte ($5.60), a tiramisu croissant ($7.50) and a breakfast croissant sandwich (around $12). The drinks were lovely and coffee was roasted well with a nice depth of flavour. The croissant sandwich was so tasty with a slight crunch on the outside wrapped around a soft and savoury bite on the inside. I did a quick check and the menu now has milk bread instead of a croissant with their sandwiches - dang! The tiramisu croissant looked sooo pretty and had a great coffee flavour.
