smashed avocado & brussels benedict

Yum! I'm not usually a savory waffle person but this was very tasty. The waffle was crunchy yet soft. The Peruvian peppers on the smashed avocado were excellent!! I thought the small waffles would be sweeter and more flavorful so giving a 4 instead of a 5. I tried the strawberry one. also got the raspberry lemonade, it was quite tart and not very sweet. i found it lacking in raspberry flavor and for the price, I expected more quantity staff was great and i enjoyed the vibe & location of this spot! i would go for a sweet waffle next time as my main to try the difference.

We ordered the 21 mini waffle set, which came with the following flavors: Pistachio Vanilla Custard Biscoff Lemon Filled Dark Chocolate Raspberry Original I tried the pistachio, biscoff, and raspberry. The raspberry was my favorite. I was surprised at how much I liked it. The waffle was sprinkled with freeze dried raspberries which added a nice tartness to the sweetness of the raspberry flavored chocolate. The pistachio was a bit disappointing, because the topping tasted like plain white chocolate and the only pistachio flavor that I tasted was from the toasted pistachios that were sprinkled on top. The waffle itself was good, I just wish the chocolate topping tasted of pistachio as well.

Okay wow, best waffles ive had in a while. I had the salmon benedict. Large eggs, big salmon portions, the waffle texture was crispy and soft, so good.

Fun place to try for waffle lovers. The menu features sweet and savoury waffles great for breakfast, brunch, or dessert. You can dine in and order from the full menu of Belgian waffles or grab a mini liege waffle and beverage from the to-go counter. I've seen them get busy, but when I went for a weekday lunch with a friend, there was no wait for a table. I tried the brie waffle (brie cheese, apples, and greens with balsamic vinaigrette) when I went for brunch, and also have tried their churro and pistachio liege waffles. I got the brie waffle with their gluten-friendly buckwheat waffle since I really like buckwheat. The flavour of the buckwheat waffle was nice but it was very airy and a little dry. The brie topping was great. The menu changes seasonally so I don't think they're currently offering this version of the brie waffle, but they have a different baked brie waffle on the menu now. The liege waffles are very good - these are rich but still fluffy. The churro liege had the dulce de leche custard inside which was a REALLY nice treat. I think the churro liege is also out of the rotation at the time of writing, but they have other custard-stuffed flavours. The liege waffles are rather sweet, but they make a good occasional treat. They also have a full coffee bar. Their London fog was pretty good. The dine-in service was kind of slow, but the staff were very pleasant. I definitely recommend the place if you like waffles and want to try some unique waffle flavours!

Walked into Nero to a very warm and welcoming hello and seated immediately. Since it was my first time I was taking a little long to decide but the waitress was patient and checked if I had any questions. Finally after debating with myself for 10 minutes I went with the strawberry and chocolate waffle and a lavender London fog latte. You get 2 options for the waffles which were explained that one was more crispy and the other more soft. I went with the crispy waffle. When my dish arrived it was so beautiful I didn't want to touch it. I also was surprised at how big it was and I was afraid I wouldn't be able to eat it all myself. I was wrong. The waffle was so light and crispy that even though it looked heavy and like a lot, it really wasn't. The texture was perfect and the crispy lightness was complemented by the strawberries and chocolate. I enjoyed every single bite. I understood the hype. The lavender London fog was disappointing. I didn't get any lavender flavour and it was a bit watered down for my liking. In any case the waffle more than made up for it. I'll be back and want to try the liege waffles next.

We stopped by for brunch. There was about a 20 minute wait. We had a mimosa and a Bloody Mary. The Bloody Mary was garnished with a cucumber slice and a WAFFLE!! it was tasty! I ordered the smashed avocado and I added smoked salmon. It was delicious. My husband ordered the chocolate with the strawberries and cream. That was good too. Will definitely come back for more waffle goodness. 10/10.

This place was good. The only problem is my food sat in the window for like 10 minutes before it came. Location was great. The waitress is really nice and friendly.

Eaten at Nero's many times since my high school days, but surprisingly my first time writing a review for them. Delicious waffles. Great ambiance. Amazing service. Not sure if our server was Djason, or that's just the cashier name on the receipt. But service was stellar albeit he got our waffle order wrong. But happy mistake, since we felt too full from our dinner previously to eat what I originally wanted. He was super friendly and helpful. Absolutely "LOVED" the tiramisu latte 1/2 sweet.

[Updated Review for visit in Oct 2022] This is my second visit to Vancouver and I loved Nero so much back in 2018 that I made it a point to come again. It's a very cute brunch shop in downtown Vancouver with delicious food as well. I would recommend coming early as this place is very popular and there can be a wait! My boyfriend and I ordered: - Smoked Salmon Benedict - Black sesame mini liege waffle - Cranberry orange mini liege waffle - Matcha latte The smoked salmon benedict was definitely a surprise. They use a different batter than the liege waffles so it's lighter and fluffier, and the hollandaise sauce was light rather than heavy (which it definitely looked heavy) Smoked Salmon Benedict ($21) - I did not think this was anything special, however, my friends loved it! They preferred it over the sweet waffle we got. The mini liege waffles were a bit more disappointing as they were difficult to cut through, but the flavors were very much present. Next time I'll try one of their signature waffle creations rather than opting for a liege waffle. Our server was also super nice and accommodating - unfortunately I couldn't get his name - I wanted a matcha latte like I did back in 2018 and it was no longer on their menu, but he was able to still put one together for me!

Food was amazing, service was excellent. Ambiance was vibing !! Will Definitely recommend to my friends and family visiting Vancouver.

Chocolate, churro, and pistachio mini waffles

This place looks great, smells great, and tastes beyond amazing. The waffles were crisp, fluffy, and sweet-but just the right amount of sweet, and the toppings made them even more delicious. Our waiter was so kind and patient. Highly recommend the baked Brie and lemon ricotta. Everything about our dishes was spot on, except maybe I wish for more hazelnuts on the baked Brie. The lemon ricotta was just SO good. The pistachio mini waffle was amazing, and I was surprised how much flavor was packed into the glaze. Churro waffle and chocolate were also really good. You can't go wrong with this place. Trust me, and your nose, your taste buds won't regret it.

If you're looking for brunch or a late-night sweet treat, this spot always hits the mark. My personal favorite is the Banana Brûlée--the combination of the caramelized banana with the light, crispy Brussels waffle is perfection. That said, I'd prefer a little less Nutella to balance the sweetness. I always opt for the Brussels waffle as it's light, airy, and provides the perfect crispy base. My husband enjoyed the Tiramisu Waffle with a chocolate Brussels waffle-- It was rich without being too heavy. The lattes are a great addition, whether you prefer them warm or iced. I love that they offer alternative milks (oat, almond). The service is consistently kind, and the food arrives fairly quickly. However, I do find that I'm often left waiting 15-20 minutes for the check after finishing, even when it's not busy. It's not a huge issue, but it's something to be aware of if you're in a hurry. When the weather is nice, the patio is our preferred seating option--perfect for enjoying a summer evening dessert. The indoor seating is cute and cozy too, so you can't go wrong either way. While I miss some of the seasonal flavors from last year (Mango and Pear), everything on the menu is always delicious. I've also tried their savory waffles in the past, and they're just as delicious. You really can't go wrong here! Highly recommend visiting on a warm summer night for a sweet treat!

Service was good, friendly. The restaurant is the same as I recall, clean enough. A little cramped and the seating isnt too comfortable. Its really not a good place to hang out for a long time, but rather sit down, eat, and get out type of place. I had the lavender latte and the Tagine this time. Ive had it before and at least its pretty consistent. Ive tried several other things on their menu in the past too, all pretty solid 4/5. Nothing standout as so amazing to deserve 5 stars, but consistent and tasty. I did have a reservation which they charge $10/person for, purely for donation to a charity and does not contribute to your meal at all, and also nonrefundable. While I find this somewhat annoying, I dont blame them for doing this from a business standpoint. They always have a lineup so there is no shortage of customers for them. There is no reason they need to deal with the headache of a ton of reservations. On the flip side, they honoured my reservation in a very timely fashion and I bypassed the line, so props to them for doing that part right. If you have to park, then you may find street metered parking or use one of the nearby paid lots.

Not too crouded (wasn't when we went) it's a fun little spot to hang out in. I think if you order right the food is quite good. Out of all the mini waffle flavors the lemon was the standout. The vanilla custard and Biscoff were good too. The chocolate was good paired with the custard because it was like an eclair. The raspberry and pistachio were not great in my opinion. I thought the raspberry would have real raspberries. We didn't get anything else, but I feel like the berries ones and the savory ones would be really good like the lemon.
