Really great prices on the delicious drinks! I ordered a large matcha with strawberry cloud, and it was probably the biggest one I've had where the matcha still tasted rich and high-quality. The fact that they made the strawberry a cloud also helped it not overpower the matcha flavor. They had an amazing Lemon Pistachio Cranberry Scone. I'm not usually a scone person since they tend to be dry, but this one was perfectly moist and flavorful. Definitely a standout. We also tried the Passion Fruit Cheesecake. The cheesecake filling on its own wasn't my favorite, but it really came together nicely with the passion fruit sauce. The only item I didn't love was the seasonal pumpkin dessert. It was missing that fruity, bright flavor I usually like, so it tasted a bit flat in comparison. Overall, it's a lovely space with plenty of seating, friendly staff, and quick service. I'd definitely come back!

Conveniently located near Cooper's Park. I came on Thanksgiving morning and it was packed, but the line moved quickly. There was plenty of both indoor and outdoor seating. I got the avocado toast without cheese. It was a bit underwhelming. I was expecting slices of avocado, but it came out mashed and there wasn't much of it. I wouldn't get this again. I feel like I just ordered the wrong thing. I would be back again to try their delicious looking pastries and sweet treats!

delicious coffee with delicate sweets and a beautiful presentation it's a great place

I am SO happy this bakery/coffee shop opened up in the 'hood! It just opened yesterday, April 7. I got to visit today and it is GREAT! If you are familiar with Small Victory, you know how wonderful their breads and pastries are. I'm pleased to report that this new site has all thier expected bells and whistles - and then some! This new site is huge (compared to thier other locations and the old Yaletown site, anyhow). There is a long counter and display case for their food items, and a separate beverage counter (which I think is smart). Don't expect a vibrant interior; rather, the palette is muted and calming. They say they took inspiration from the nearby water and marinas, but to me it seemed rather monochromatic, with watery blues and aquamarine, and no artwork on the walls. I liked the layout, with lots of seating areas (and more to come, when their spacious outdoor patio opens up). And the place is immaculate. Even the huge bathroom was immaculate. Like, hospital-clean. (I hope it all stays that way!). Now for the food... oh, where to begin! (NOTE TO SELF: If you're on a diet, do NOT even walk through these doors! DANGER!). Everything looks bloody AMAZING. I shared with my kid an almond croissant and a pear danish. I also got a sample of a cinnamon croissant "bite" (like donut holes, but made from croissants). OMG. I'm from Montreal so I'm used to high quality croissants and I'm usually disappointed in pastries not from France or QC, but wow, these were wonderful. And all their tarts and cakes looked equally wonderful. They have a huge selection of desserts, but I was most surprised by thier lunch and brunch offerings: so many sandwiches and "power bowls" and soups and, wow, their chicken pot pies looked fabulous, as did thier quiches. Just...wow. Tons of options. And then there are the beverages. You who know me know I love me my Starbucks, but I've been trying to only patronize Canadian places lately and only buy Canadian, so I got me a dirty chai here and, yes, it was different than my usual Starbucks but it was equally good. Just different. I plan on getting used to this drink here and only come here now (sorry Starbucks. It's not personal!). Thier loaves of bread for sale looked amazing, too. I was just a bit disappointed that, with all thier bread options, they don't offer challah. Sad! Lastly, I gotta say, the folks behind the counter here could NOT have been nicer or more knowledgable about the cafe and all its offerings. (David, I'm talking about YOU!). (Natalia, you were great too, as was my drink's barista). Everyone was super friendly and made my whole experience here top-notch. I already know that I'm going to be a regular. Welcome to Yaletown, Small Victory! We are so glad you're here!

Quaint cafe to get some work done. Ordered the croissandwich along with a scone and it was the perfect light bite after a weekend work session. Everything tasted fresh and the croissant was nice and flaky

sad to see small victory move out of their homer street location, it used to be one of my go-to spots and felt like a tucked away gem. the new marinaside café, open for about four months now, is bright, spacious, and beautifully situated with a panoramic view of false creek. inside, a long glass counter showcases an inviting selection of croissants, cream puffs, tarts, and scones. they also offer a brunch and lunch menu daily from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. i had originally come for their oat vanilla coffee slush, but it had already sold out by 2:00 pm. instead, i went with the strawberry cloud matcha ($7.75 + $1.25 for oat milk). the barista hand whisked the matcha and whipped the strawberry foam until it looked like a soft pink cloud. the flavours were subtle, almost too much so, and i suspect my drink may not have been made with oat milk, i'm lactose intolerant, so i usually notice a few hours later. despite the hiccup, i'm glad small victory has found such a lovely new home, and i'll be back to see what else they're serving up.

Small Victory was a huge victory in my book. The pastries and sandwiches and drinks it all was phenomenal. The pastries weren't too sweet and the perfect combination with a matcha latte. The service was kind and quick and we were able to go twice during our trip. I would highly recommend this bakery, breakfast spot to anyone visiting Yaletown.

Cute cafe with wide selection of breakfast items. The hojicha latte however was too sweet and I could barely taste the tea flavor....

first time visiting this location since they relocated in yaletown. Much brighter and spacious location for sure. Tried their espresso macchiato and avocado mascarpone toast. i personally like sliced avocado on avocado toast and the balsamic was a good addition to the avocado toast.

Service was good, friendly. The restaurant is the same as I recall, clean enough. A little cramped and the seating isnt too comfortable. Ive had it before and at least its pretty consistent. Ive tried several other things on their menu in the past too, all pretty solid 4/5. Nothing standout as so amazing to deserve 5 stars, but consistent and tasty. I did have a reservation which they charge $10/person for, purely for donation to a charity and does not contribute to your meal at all, and also nonrefundable. While I find this somewhat annoying, I dont blame them for doing this from a business standpoint. They always have a lineup so there is no shortage of customers for them. There is no reason they need to deal with the headache of a ton of reservations. On the flip side, they honoured my reservation in a very timely fashion and I bypassed the line, so props to them for doing that part right. If you have to park, then you may find street metered parking or use one of the nearby paid lots.

I chose to sit outside on the patio instead of inside at the bar to take in that Canadian Vitamin D! It was sunny and hot, but the patio had a great view and was perfect for people-watching. My server, Dursh (or something close to that), was really cool. He asked my name, made me feel welcomed, and gave solid recommendations. He even picked my drink for me, which I ended up enjoying. He suggested a Benedict dish, but I'm not a fan of runny eggs. I had already decided on the El Camino poutine and plot twist....it also came with two runny poached eggs. Even so, it was still delicious, mainly because the yolk texture wasn't an issue with the crema on the dish. That poutine was an easy 9/10. It came loaded with cheese curds, pork carnitas that weren't dry at all, bacon, pinto beans, roasted pineapple for a little sweetness, salsa, jalapeños, pickled onions, salsa verde, cilantro crema, and spinach. The herb potatoes were seasoned so well too. All in all, a great last meal in Vancouver from the food to the service (even beyond Dursh, everyone was helpful) to the patio vibe. Great spot.

I was meeting a friend here yesterday who's visiting from California, and when deciding on a meeting place, we realized a bunch of the Gastown coffee roaster places were closed on Sunday, so I mentioned Breka , knowing it was opened 24/7. (LOVE this!). Plus, this site is close to Waterfront Station, and my friend had a busy day planned, taking the Seabus to N.Van and doing a lot of sightseeing. So this Breka was perfect. I was there early at 10 am-ish, and from the outset, I was impressed: exposed brick wall, long counter and display case, fully stocked with the most beautiful pastries and tarts and cakes, and lovely looking sandwiches, too....Just lovely. I ordered a tea from the guy taking the orders. At the check-out, the woman working the cashier was the most unfriendly, aloof person I have ever encountered at a Breka. She was downright dour. Never looked up, never smiled, said I owed X for the tea I ordered, gave me a receipt and said I was "number 3", no "thank you" (despite my saying thanks!), nothing. She looked really unhappy and bothered to be there. (I sat at a nearby table, waiting for my number to be called. I saw her interactions with all the people behind me - and there were quite a few, as it got suddenly busy in the cafe. She was cold and unfriendly to everyone in line as she rang them all up. These are mostly tourists! Why have a dour, borderline-hostile woman at the check-out counter of a busy cafe in a touristy part of our city? I just don't get it). Anyhow, I waited 10 minutes to hear my number called, but I never heard it. I walked up to the take-out area and there was my tea, on a receipt that said "number 3". Did they call out my number? I honestly don't know. I was seated at a table a few feet from the area and listening for my number and I didn't hear it called. I was not impressed with this set-up. Not at all. My friend arrived and got a chocolate concoction which looked amazing, and he loved it, so there's that. I still love Brekas but I probably won't return to this site. Between the cold experience at the cash and the prolonged waiting for my order (a cup of tea!), and not being sure if my order number was ever called, it just all left me with a bitter taste in my mouth.

We were having gorgeous weather in Vancouver so we decided to eat on the covered patio. The place is pretty cozy, but was only moderately busy when we went. They have a pretty good menu with lots a Benedict's and a build your own breakfast option that seemed pretty nice. I took the recommendation from our server and got the bacon benny. It did not disappoint. I think I have recently discovered that I love poached eggs and these were perfect. The yolk was nice and runny and the white was firm but not hard. I like to cut in to my egg and have it run down and get messy on the plate. The hollandaise was excellent. So many breakfast places will serve it broken, but not here. It had the perfect amount of lemon, butter ratio for my taste and I really enjoyed it. The bacon was good, not to salty, and the english muffin was, well, an English muffin from a package that they toasted and out on the plate. I did splurge and paid the extra dollar for the truffle potatoes and they were very good. I love truffle oil on potatoes so I am a sucker for it whenever its on a menu. You just cant mess it up. Fried potatoes, truffle oil, and a lemon squeeze to bring it all together. My wife got the brunch burger and she loved it. It was a messy breakfast burger that a lot of places have but this one was done right. A poached oozy egg, on a burger patty with american cheese, the best burger cheese in my opinion, bacon, hollandaise and arugula on a brioche bun! It came with tater tots and they were nice and crispy just like she likes them. Well, why didn't I give it five stars you may be asking? Great question. Here it is, each plate came with a side that was just awful. Mine had some "fresh" fruit that nearly made me laugh. It consisted of the saddest, limpest piece of watermelon I have ever seen this side of a trash can. I also had an old crusty orange wedge and a single grape. My wife got a slimy side salad that I think was holding on for dear life. Both, we deemed inedible and moved on immediately. I think there is a rule, or at least there should be one, in restaurants that if you wouldn't eat it then don't serve it. There might be another one that says if you eat rotten food maybe get a different job and see rule one. Overall, we liked the place and would go back. While he loved the tomato soup he chose on the side, he was less enamoured by the benny itself. I had a taste and was underwhelmed by a forkful of overripe avocado and slightly fishy-tasting salmon. We finished with an order of beignets which despite being freshly-fried, were bland; although the accompanying strawberry sauce was deliciously tangy-sweet. Onto the service. This place spins like a top, and I mean that in a good way. Although we came at a peak time, all front of the house staff we encountered -- from the hostess to our bubbly server, to the smooth manager -- struck a perfect balance of being in flow, working flawlessly together, and maintaining light conversation with us.
