I love this charming cafe tucked away in the residential area. It is a quiet neighbourhood, with a few wandering cats coming to visit while we were there. The croissants were my favourites. I especially love the Kaya jam on the warm croissant and finished it quite quickly. Pasta is a good portion and cooked to perfect doneness. The chowder has plenty of seafood in it so it was quite filling. All the food came pretty quickly which we were thankful for as we went a bit later than our usual lunch time.

My friend and I dropped by after a weekend workout session to check out this neighbourhood cafe that I randomly found while exploring Google maps. It is a very tiny space with around 10-12 seats. We ordered the mushroom pasta, iced matcha latte, chili chicken croissant and the ricotta cheese pasta. The servers bring your food to you and you are encouraged to clean up after yourself by placing empty dishes in the bin near the door. Food came out quite quickly but I felt my mushrooms were a bit room temp and could have been cooked a little longer. Overall the dish was tasty. I enjoyed their iced matcha latte but I think the corn(?) straws could be rethought as they split really easily and i had a bit of trouble drinking from my glass. Cute aesthetic decor and friendly staff. Easy parking in the neighbourhood. I will be back again!

Sooyo is an unassuming and tucked away cafe in Vancouver. I wouldve never found it if I didn't run by randomly on a morning jog. The coffee is bangin' and not to mention super beautiful. Look at the cup!! The sooyo croissant was also incredible. How can you go wrong with brie cheese and fig jam? The pear really blew it out of the water; it added texture and paired well with everything else. The croissant was warmed, buttery, and flakey. The workers/baristas were also super friendly and super nice. A perfect post run breakfast.

I'm so surprised by this small local hidden cafe that only has 2 Yelp reviews (there are more on google). I have driven by Sooyo so many times from visiting family or avoiding the main roads during rush hour. Luckily my cousin had discovered this local gem walking around her neighborhood. This small café holds up to 8 people comfortably indoors and maybe about the same outside if the weather is nice. They're serving Asian fusion pastries/baked goods, breakfasts-like items, sandwiches, and pastas! Did I mention they also have a fantastic coffee? Here's what we ordered: Sweet Chili Chicken Croissant $9.90 Avo & Egg Sourdough $12.90 Smoked Ham Carbonara $12.90 I don't remember our coffee orders.... but I do know it was delightful. I really liked the Sweet Chili Chicken Croissant. I'm always worried that things like a chicken salad will be too saucy with the mayo or perhaps unbalanced when it comes to flavour. But with the crunchy iceberg lettuces and the toasted croissant, it was magical. The Smoked Ham Carbonara was also recommended, and it was delicious. The smoke and salt from the ham balanced out the creaminess of the egg sauce and the garlic bits were delightful (if you don't care much for garlic then this might not be for you). Overall a fantastic meal and a great place overall. I can see bringing a laptop while getting an egg tart or a sando with a coffee and working would be a perfect location. The staff is friendly and the parking is plentiful. If you're in the area and want to support this local hidden gem, please do so.

What a hidden gem in such an unassuming part of Vancouver. On the outside it doesn't look like much with a handwritten Sooyo sign and a toddlers play chalkboard listing their specials. I was so pleasantly surprised by the friendly staff behind the counter and most importantly their yummy croissants. We also got an ice tea which we felt was a bit too sweet but was able to dilute down simply by adding water. Highly recommend this little gem of a cafe!

We were sad when Parker St Cafe suddenly closed, but we are blessed with this new neighbourhood Cafe. They have hot and cold teas and coffees, a few savoury lunch options, and a smaller selection of sweets. We had a Sooyo latte, which tastes like an iced caramel latte, and it was delicious. We haven't had a chance to try the food items, but will definitely be back to try more drinks and food. (The food that other people ordered looked delicious!) We hope they're around to stay. :)

They have more than 35 different tea flavors and they don't make a show out of that :D Okay! the place looks so creepy for the outside, but nice and super clean from the inside! Their chairs are not that comfy but it's okey, The tea house, in addition to teas, offers wide rang of hot beverages (latte etc), pastries (cheesecake etc) and middle Eastern appetisers (eg. Humus). Of course their main thing is TEA! I had four different types and I was always blown away by it's magical flavor! to the extend that it made me hate other teas! it ruined me :S The Joint also have a ME grocery corner, the good side is that the place doesn't smell like other regular ME grocery shops :D very neat I have to say! They also have Sufi bookstore upstairs and they offer *free* SUFI meditation session every Wednesday @7.30 for 30 min. I tried the sessions twice, a small group of 7-10 from diverse ethnic backgrounds with nice music that they call "TASABEEH" and then you can have some tea before you leave. Really liked the place! check it out, esp the top floor. I gave it 4, though I thought it's more of 4.5 but I think the seating area could be improved to earn the full mark! Keep it up guys! p.s check Rumi's books upstairs, they're different !
