Outside seating and Fir street view

Tucked away on Fir one block from the main entrance to Granville Island is Prado Cafe. Serving a limited menu of breakfast and lunch items, baked goods and coffee, the quaint interior and warm staff make this cafe a solid choice. This location has a substantial covered outdoor eating area, sidewalk bistro tables and an ivy blanketed exterior that adds a lot of charm. Some nice touches-sparkling water on tap and dog biscuits! The service staff was very friendly and efficient, our order of savory scone, breakfast cookie and old fashioned glaze donut was great. Americano cafe and iced matcha were perfect. Prices were in line with other shops in the area, condiments included stevia, cocoa and cinnamon. Tables were clean and overall the retro country decor was a nice touch. Well worth the trip.

My new favorite coffee shop along Fir and between 2nd and 3rd Avenue on the west side of Fir. With a rustic, Latin feeling at Prado Cafe. There is one large, long table to be shared by friends or new friends, and smaller tables for one or two customers. I have had avocado toast, a grilled cheese sandwich and today a pumpkin loaf. I always have a coffee or two. The food is fresh, tasty and nutritious. The coffee is hot, delicious and wakes me up. The staff are courteous and professional. There is also a dining area in the back that is popular on a warm day. A nice place to sit back and people watch after walking along The Arbutus Greenway.

Delicious tasting coffee. Great location to get a coffee on the go. I thought 2.50 for the 8oz coffee was so expensive. Service was fast, but the staff wasn't too friendly though. Not much indoor seating spaces when I went here back in March.

Server was friendly. I ordered a hot latte and a croissant under $9. The latte tasted great. The croissant cost a bit much. It tasted okay. It was crispy but it was so light that it was not filling at all. The variety of food or pastries is a bit limited. The ambience and interior design are modern and comfortable. Some people work here; some have breakfast; and some have a coffee with a friend or coworker. Street parking. It may be a bit difficult to find parking later in the day if you drive. It's better to walk in this neighbourhood. Overall, the quality of coffee and food is still good, so giving them 4 stars.

Quaint little cafe in Kitsilano... I heard from our coworker of how good the coffee is and I simply have to try it since it's not too far from my workplace. Came around 830 am and it already had a small line up. I ordered the flat white and a croissant to go. The service was prompt and quick and the cashier was very pleasant. Prado cafe uses Parallel 49 coffee and I love their coffee! My flat white was perfect and beautiful! The barista took her time to create that perfect cup and it showed! The croissant had beautiful lamination, it shatters on the top and the inside is soft and buttery. It paired perfectly with the coffee, for a winter day in Vancouver. I am definitely coming back for more!

Great Coffee in a great location. I love to go grab coffee gear and then take a walk by the beach and Granville. Staff is lovely and the coffee has never disappointed. Not much seating but they do have some outdoor options!

All the Prado Cafes in Vancouver get 5-stars from me just for their chill vibes and beautiful and minimalistic decor. I'm a huge fan of all the Prado locations, but I fancy this one in particular. I've only been here four or five times because it's a little bit more out of the way from downtown, but that's what I kind of like. It's not as busy as some of the other locations and there's plenty of parking close by which is key for me. This location serves up a bigger menu than the Hastings location (which I frequent more). Things I've gotten when I've come here: + Prado Breakfast + Avocado and Pea Smash Toast + West Coast Toast + Grilled Cheese + Vegetarian Wrap My favourite by far is the west coast toast (salmon, herbs, and cream cheese on a multigrain toast). Both times I've gotten it, I've added the avocado and pea smash on the side. HELLO, delicious breakfast! Avocado and salmon toast? Happy belly for me! This location also has more indoor and patio seating - which is great if I want to spend a few hours doing work or just want to meet a friend over a drink. If you've been to other Prado locations before, then you know what to expect when you come here. Great coffee, great food, great vibes. Yassssss.

First time to pop into this cafe - a friend introduced me to it. It was simply fantastic! The coffee was flavourful, bold and aromatic. Their pastry was just decadent. It was a warm day so we sat outside. I would totally go back for their awesome coffee and simply great service.

It's my first time here. It's busy. Lots of seats. They have a glass covered patio, which is a nice extension. I ordered a double shot of ice espresso. It was a warm day but needed caffeine. I like they have lots of choices of sweets and donuts and their portions are big. So make sure you have your devices charged before coming here to work or study. Outside it's walking distance from other stores snd restaurants. It's a nice commercial neighborhood. I am writing this review because my email to them went unanswered…read more I am shocked and disappointed at the way I was treated after spending $40. I am a HUGE 49th fan and love their dougnuts and coffee. Whenever I have friends in town, or someone needs a suggestion on where to visit, I always say "49th has really good coffee and doughnuts". Unfortunately, my mind has changed, and I don't see myself ever recommending this location. As an avid coffee drinker, I am pretty picky on where I choose to have coffee and love the cafe culture in Vancouver. My mom loves doughnuts and we had come all the way from Langley for a day in Kits, so I recommended we go to 49th! I spent about $40 on 4 doughnuts, 2 maple sea salt lattes and a drip coffee. The maple sea salt lattes looked beautiful and my doughnut was delicious as usual (big fan of the french crueller). Unfortunately, our maple sea salt lattes were very very strong and had no maple or sea salt flavoring in my opinion. I decided to ask the girl at the register if we could please get a different drink because it was super strong and didn't taste good. I was met with SO much attitude, i was actually shocked. I went into it very friendly and politely asked for an alternate drink as i did spend $12 on these two drinks (and life gets expensive!!). She then goes "well, you probably don't like the taste of coffee then".... I actually didn't know how to respond. But i did say "I'm a huge 49th fan and love coffee!". Then I had asked how many shots are in the small and she said "2". I then had asked if we could get a new/different drink and she goes "I'll give it to you this one time, but next time you'll have to pay." This is NOT the way to treat a paying customer. It felt so rude and accusatory. I very rarely come to Kits, so she wouldn't have recognized me and am an honest girl who works hard for my money. When the customer comes up politely, you offer to make it right. I hope the next person that comes up not satisfied with their drink is treated a lot better than how I was.

Unfortunately, it was not the same. I was glad to see the same amazing pastries and tarts and sandwiches, all fresh and beautifully displayed in the display case. I ordered a croissant and it was superb as usual. I also ordered one of thier baguettes to bring home. My kid and I think SV has the best baguettes in the city. They are crusty on the outside, soft yet chewy inside, and just consistently perfect. This one was as good as all the others we've had from here. Yeah! I wanted an Earl Grey tea which IMO is a pretty basic order. Surprisingly, they did not have it. I got a green tea instead (their tea selection was very limited). And the girl who took my order, as well as the girl who rang me up at the cash, could NOT have been more aloof. I smiled and tried to make a little small talk, especially with the girl at the cash when I took out my debit card and asked how to pay (she just pointed at the tap symbol on the machine but my card is not tap-enabled. I always joke with people about this). This girl would not even look at me. Zero eye contact. No "thank you", nada. I just got really cold vibes from the two of them there at the counter. (At least when I picked up my tea at the beverage counter, the guy there made eye contact and semi smiled). (Side note: the staff at the Yaletown site have always been super pleasant and friendly, and this really makes a difference. To me, anyhow). Contrary to another reviewer's posting, the restaurant and the washroom was very clean when I visited here. No issues there. Honestly, I'm not sure I'll return to this site. There are so many cafes and bakeries around, I'd rather go to one with a warmer vibe. Or stay with my Yaletown SV.

The combination of flavors, the runny egg yolks, the gooeyness of the cheese...it was just such a wonderfully comforting and belly warming meal. I saw a Cinnamon Honey Latte on the board and decided to order that for my drink. These days, I can never tell when the word "Latte" is being used to describe a coffee beverage or whether it's being used to describe a beverage that has milk in it. A Matcha latte for example, tends to just be a sweetedned Matcha beverage with milk in it. No coffee thrown in. I was kinda hoping this Cinnamon Honey Latte would be milk with cinnamon and honey thrown in. It turned out to be a coffee beverage. No complaints about it. It's on me for assuming that it was milk with cinnamon and honey thrown in. I should have probably asked our server about the beverage before simply ordering it. Will make sure to do that if/when we end up here again. Kinda had my eye on the Turkish Apple Tea though so might just order that next time and the whole "Latte" dilemma wouldn't be an issue with that. My daughter's Avocado Toast looked super yummy as well. Might try ordering that next time, although Michelangelo's Mediterranean Spread was also kinda calling out to me!
