Salted caramel old fashioned donut. It was kind of dry and over fried, imo.
Marybeth W.

Went here today to try to get one of the Koolfest drinks, but they were sold out. I got a salted caramel old fashioned donut and an iced chocolate drink. Both were ok, kind of forgettable. The donut was a bit dry and overcooked. The iced chocolate was nothing special. This place is such a classic though. I will prob come again, just bc of the location and it's a Vancouver staple.

I always stop by when I'm riding to Spanish Banks. Peanut butter and jelly is a fan favourite and never disappoints.

Fancy hipster coffee and donut place on 4th Avenue. Basically a satellite location of their original Main location. Parking is pretty awful around here. It's a popular part of town after all. There are metered spots in front, and some spots on the side streets if one is lucky. The venue itself is hipser vintage, with the old looking wood trim. There is a nice bright W facing patio, which is nice as long as it isn't too sunny. Staff are friendly and enthusiastic. Special mention. Donuts (from Lucky's) are definitely pricy, but they are pretty freaking good. Worth treating oneself. Coffees are solid too. Honestly it's worth the few extra bucks. Worth checking out if one is in the area, as long as one doesn't mind the lineup that often goes out the door. Recommended.

Visiting from Houston, Texas and enjoyed stopping by and trying out this cute coffee shop on the way to Stanley Park and Vancouver Aquarium. Courteous and friendly staff. Great Tasting Brew

Having escaped a local breakfast eatery as we were sandwiched between two large party tables, who apparently consumed microphones before heading for breakfast...we came upon this gem of a place. Have you ever experienced a coffee shop more like a momentary sanctuary? The atmosphere was airy, light, peaceful, chill and the aroma of great coffee and freshly baked pastries all throughout. You have to try their Mushroom Miso Danish....trust me you'll get it again. Their coconut and pistachio croissant was just as good if you're into donuts. I also enjoyed their coffee. It's something in between JJ Bean and Starbucks...that was my experience anyhow. But, what I think I enjoyed more and equally as much as their menu was just the chill, relaxing and calming vibe and energy. That's exactly what I need and want first thing in the morning..... Loved you guys, thank you!

I was so impressed! I knew that the coffee would be great as I had the coffee in Toronto before but it was fun to get to have it in Vancouver where it's actually rusted. While I was in line looking to get a coffee I noticed Luckys donuts were also here. I had never had them before but just looking at all the different options and flavours had me realizing I was going to need at least one donut today. The latte was perfect and very rich in flavor. The gal behind the counter who helped me get my order in was lovely, friendly and efficient. The donut was a huge highlight. Mango and passionfruit curd?! Wow! I highly suggest looking for this one if you like those flavors. The donut was also soft and chewy just as you wanted to be in the curd had the perfect amount of zing to it. You need to stop here if you're in the area! Pro tip prepare yourself for walking uphill if you park anywhere near the water. It's a good incline. It will help you work off the donut

Cherry Old Fashioned I'm not a huge fan of cherry flavoured things because I don't like artificial cherry flavouring. So I was pleasantly surprised that it was not the case here. The old fashioned doughnut was crispy on the outside and there was just enough cherry glaze for it to be a treat without being too sweet. It wouldn't be an order I'd reach for first but I wouldn't mind having it again. Mountain Highway This was easily one of my favourite doughnuts of the bunch. Despite the sweet looking exterior, this doughnut was not overly sweet. I loved how the coffee cream on the inside helped add bitterness to the sweet chocolate ganache that blanketed the doughnut. LOVE LOVE LOVE. I'd definitely order it again and the textural crunch of the nuts just made it all the more delicious. French Cruller A simple fresh cruller that tasted as though you were biting into a pastry dipped in honey. Sweet, simple, delicious. Sprinkled Sprinkled doughnuts always bring a smile to my face and this one did just that. The sprinkles added a pop of colour to the already delicious doughnut. What I noticed about the doughnuts here was that the dough was SO CHEWY! I loved how fluffy and chewy each yeast based doughnut was and it made me want another as soon as I was done. Lemon Meringue Bismarck This was a looker! The meringue on top was just lightly toasted and added creamy texture on top of the already velvety smooth lemon filling. I loved how the tartness of the lemon contrasted against the sweetness of the meringue. I've never been a fan of filled doughnuts because I find them to be too sweet, but I've been converted! Carrot Cake Bismarck Who says you can't have carrot cake all year around? In all honesty, this was my attempt at getting a "healthier" looking doughnut but it was just as decadent as the others. Inside the fluffy carrot based dough you will find a generous helping of cream cheese filling. While it did get a little sweet towards the half way point, I wouldn't mind having it again because it was just so delish!

Doughnuts at home! Left to right: lemon meringue bismarck, French crueller, mocha bismarck

49th Parallel is home to Lucky's Doughnuts, my favourite doughnut shop in Metro Vancouver! They have a rotating list of flavours and are always creating new ones, and I have loved every single flavour I've tried so far. In general though, I would say the bismarcks are the best. Recently, I tried their new mocha bismarck. The yeast dough made for a plump, pillowy doughnut, which was stuffed with a silky smooth coffee pastry cream and topped with a chocolate ganache and some cookie crumbs. I thought it was superb! Usually, I go here just for the doughnuts (with the exception being during the Hot Chocolate Festival), but the last time I went I decided to get an iced chai as well. The cup was HUGE! Unfortunately, there wasn't much flavour in the drink. It reminded me of the iced chais I made at home, back in March when Vancouver was in lockdown mode, which was sad. So, in summary...doughnuts: very, very good; iced chai: meh

Whenever we have the chance, we pass the chance to get their iced oat milk mocha with their deliciously sinful donuts!! I'm in love with them!!! We always get the same ones!! It's my cheat meal!! The most delicious donuts for me and I'm not usually the sweets kinda girl! ;)

This is a short review as we were really looking forward to having breakfast coffee here and we walked out. We saw 49th parallel coffee but this was actually luckys donut shop. Pros- large outdoor eating area with a lot of parking close by. Overall everything looked good UNTIL we realized that they only serve donuts or gluten free bread. Even Tim Hortons has a few non donut options. While the donuts looked interesting, my partner said there was nothing he wanted to order and we left. So don't be fooled by the coffee sign, this is full on donut love.

Lemon Bismarck

A solid coffee shop with donuts on West 4th. I love their iced lattes and all their baked goods. I enjoyed the Lemon Bismarck - it was super tasty and was not too sweet. The lemon filling was oozing, so be sure to grab extra napkins! They have ample patio space - their indoor dining was closed due to covid the last time I went. The washrooms were also closed! Not sure if they're open yet.

Venezuelan iced latte, iced americano and chocolate old fashion donut and the besttt Pb & Jam donut

The Venezuelan iced latte and donuts was to dieeee for. We got a chocolate sprinkled old fashioned donut and PB & Jam donut. We were just coming for coffee and saw they had Luckys donuts too and wow. We loved the coffee here and would highly recommend both their coffee and

Friendly staff and clean coffee shop with lots of tables inside and outside. Mostly busy but the wait isn't too bad. Yummy donuts and good coffee. They have other locations too and it's my first time at this location. Very different vibe than the one downtown but it's more chill here.

I was glad to see the same amazing pastries and tarts and sandwiches, all fresh and beautifully displayed in the display case. I ordered a croissant and it was superb as usual. I also ordered one of thier baguettes to bring home. My kid and I think SV has the best baguettes in the city. They are crusty on the outside, soft yet chewy inside, and just consistently perfect. This one was as good as all the others we've had from here. Yeah! I wanted an Earl Grey tea which IMO is a pretty basic order. Surprisingly, they did not have it. I got a green tea instead (their tea selection was very limited). And the girl who took my order, as well as the girl who rang me up at the cash, could NOT have been more aloof. I smiled and tried to make a little small talk, especially with the girl at the cash when I took out my debit card and asked how to pay (she just pointed at the tap symbol on the machine but my card is not tap-enabled. I always joke with people about this). This girl would not even look at me. Zero eye contact. No "thank you", nada. I just got really cold vibes from the two of them there at the counter. (At least when I picked up my tea at the beverage counter, the guy there made eye contact and semi smiled). (Side note: the staff at the Yaletown site have always been super pleasant and friendly, and this really makes a difference. To me, anyhow). Contrary to another reviewer's posting, the restaurant and the washroom was very clean when I visited here. No issues there. Honestly, I'm not sure I'll return to this site. There are so many cafes and bakeries around, I'd rather go to one with a warmer vibe. Or stay with my Yaletown SV.
