Matcha is sold only during weekdays :( Their menu is very simple and clean which i liked. Parking was a little challenging since street parking is limited. Tried their cold white coffee and i really enjoyed it! There was a little bit of oil? Taste in the coffee which was very interesting (in a good way). Inside was very cute and has a little place to sit down downstairs. I would come back here!
heard the matcha was good here, so we decided to give it a try. we dropped by oidé coffee around 3:30 pm on a sunday, it's by the waterfall building at 1548 west 2nd ave, just a short walk from granville island. but a heads up: watch out for the protective crows nearby. my friend got ambushed from behind, no joke. the café is minimalist and striking. clean lines, unfinished concrete floors, soft wooden benches, and a calm, almost meditative atmosphere. the space extends further back, down a small set of stairs to a bigger open room, with more seating and the same quiet cool. it's simple in the best way, very japan meets west coast. unfortunately, the matcha mission was foiled. a handwritten orange sticky note by the counter read, "matcha available weekday only ." and next to the orange sticky note was a pink sticky note, "ginger honey yuzu soda $6.50", so we ordered that instead. it was light, fizzy, citrusy, and kind of nostalgic, kind of reminded me of vonbee's honey citron and ginger tea but less sweet and with bubbles. not quite the matcha adventure we came for, but still a chill, stylish spot to sit, spill the tea, and sip. we'll definitely be back on a weekday to try their matcha.
Visited this coffee shop when it was located in Clark Drive three years ago. Now located on the West 2nd Avenue with minimalistic style. Simple wooden benches and stools with so much space. I love to enjoy my coffee and chat in a spacious environment. My wife and I ordered Latte and Pour Over, the quality was undoubtedly good. The pour over was made with the Hatch beans, washed and full body flavour. It tasted excellent and I think I can just drink it for the whole day. The barista was friendly and I really appreciated her recommendation of the bean for the pour over. We will definitely come back again.
Oidé Coffee was a friend's choice to return to on a rainy Sunday afternoon. Given the 30-minute drive from Richmond, my expectations were high and I was excited to try the coffee/matcha. I think it's super cute that the coffee shop is named Oidé, which means "Come here!" in Japanese. Upon arrival, I immediately noticed the minimal grey warehouse vibes - typical of many Vancouver coffee shops. As I looked at the little shelves displaying items for sale, I noticed they use Ipoddo matcha from Japan. This is how I know the quality of the matcha I'm about to order is already on point. The cashier took our order and we picked it up on the side and brought it down the staircase where the seating is. There is ample bench space and some small wooden tables with crate boxes as chairs. I found it quite amusing that peak Vancouver is paying astronomical prices for a drink and sitting on some crate boxes to enjoy it. A quick casual hangout is not a problem but if you plan to sit for a while, you may be uncomfortable. My friend ordered a flat white which was so delicious! I read on the coffee machine that there were hints of vanilla and pistachio for a sweeter profile. I liked the matcha - it has a deep but well-balanced flavour with some bitterness to it. I had it with oat milk but looking back, it probably serves better with regular milk. The chocolate croissant was a standard yummy treat. Overall, I would return if I'm in the area and looking for a quick drink!
We came here on a sunday for coffee and the place was packed! Sorry for the pic as I had drank it before I remembered to take the picture. I had the white. I felt like the milk was creamy and loved the foam on it. Good Latte but I didn't like the espresso beans used here (just a personal preference). More on the fruitier side The service was super friendly and nice. They clean up fast. The main issue was that there was nowhere to sit. People had their jackets everywhere and so it was hard to find somewhere to put down the coffee. I had to rush and down my white quickly. I would say if you want to come here and enjoy some coffee. Come early to get a spot. Or they should see if they can put a table in the middle section to allow for more standing areas. Overall very minimalist coffee shop. Simple coffee options. No frills. Great service Good design I would give it a 3.5 if reviews allowed
I'm so glad that this place has reopened! I've been following this couple since their Iktsu place in Gastown, and then their move to Clark drive. Their matcha never disappoints me. They're such kind people! So happy to be back! I ordered a matcha latte with a bit of sugar, and it had nice tea flavour with a perfect amount of foam. This time around felt a bit too milky, and diluted out the matcha flavour I was wanting. The seating area looks a bit sparse, and I imagine the seats don't look that comfortable (I didn't end up sitting). There is a standing table area too.
Wanted to check this place out, as I heard good things about the matcha. I got the "green" which is matcha + milk. Pretty good matcha, not too sweet (how I like it) but a more mild matcha flavor. A little pricey as well, as it's 12oz for $7 + tax. But overall, received friendly and quick service in a clean establishment.
Cute place with not a lot of space. Counter at the front for ordering, then through a short set of stairs, it opens up into a small seating area. The drink I had, the green (matcha+milk) was absolutely delicious, though! There was a bit of a line up but service was great. Perfect for grabbing and walking around the area.

Went for a quick stop at Oide's new location to check it out! Got a matcha milk with sugar. The matcha flavour is really strong and delicious which is why I liked it! But for my taste, too much milk. The matcha is also bitter.. I hope it's due to barista error rather than the quality of the matcha! When you enter the cafe, it doesn't look like there's anywhere to sit but you need to go downstairs! There's only a few spots to sit. There's a large table with one side as a stand-up area and the other side has seats. The other sit-down areas were.. interesting. All the tables were at chair seat height. Basically makes them unusable other than for putting your cup down.
Minimal and hip aesthetic. Friendly staff. Matcha latte was good and very enjoyable. Definitely catered towards people who enjoy the match flavor itself and not the sweeter drinks. Do think it is on the pricier end for the size of the drink, so wouldn't make it a regular spot but would come back again.

great coffee! Menu was a bit confusing as a non-hipster coffee guru: they only have "White" for all milk based drinks like latte or flat whites and "Black" for espresso drinks like Americano. Sold out of pourover today. Tried to order an oat milk flat white and oat latte - but the barista said they're the same thing and punched in two "White" drinks. Total about $14 ($7/cup). Pricey for a small cup, but the oat foam was super full bodied and the roast tasted good. There's a constant line up too. Very minimal seating, a few seats outside and 1 bench to fit max 3 ppl inside. read more
Oide Coffee is a minimalistic Japanese cafe serving up some solid drinks. To get here, street parking will be your best bet. When I stopped by on a Sunday afternoon, they were out of matcha but I was able to try the Ginger Honey Yuzu Soda (a seasonal item). Overall, I liked the vibes of the cafe and all of the staff were very friendly and welcoming. I would definitely recommend checking them out if you are ever in the area! read more

Went for a quick stop at Oide's new location to check it out! Got a matcha milk with sugar. The matcha flavour is really strong and delicious which is why I liked it! But for my taste, too much milk. Atmosphere and seating is a cool social spot for coffee lovers. Limited menu! I wasnt sure how or what was available, my cousin asked the right questions though. I ended up with a cold matcha. Pay Street parking only. $16 for 2 drinks read more

Meaning "come here" in Japanese, Oidé is the perfect place to go to for a delicious cup of coffee and a friendly heartwarming atmosphere!
