Chocolate croissant, Matcha latte, Flat white
    Isabel C.

Oidé Coffee was a friend's choice to return to on a rainy Sunday afternoon. Given the 30-minute drive from Richmond, my expectations were high and I was excited to try the coffee/matcha. I think it's super cute that the coffee shop is named Oidé, which means "Come here!" in Japanese. Upon arrival, I immediately noticed the minimal grey warehouse vibes - typical of many Vancouver coffee shops. As I looked at the little shelves displaying items for sale, I noticed they use Ipoddo matcha from Japan. This is how I know the quality of the matcha I'm about to order is already on point. The cashier took our order and we picked it up on the side and brought it down the staircase where the seating is. There is ample bench space and some small wooden tables with crate boxes as chairs. I found it quite amusing that peak Vancouver is paying astronomical prices for a drink and sitting on some crate boxes to enjoy it. A quick casual hangout is not a problem but if you plan to sit for a while, you may be uncomfortable. My friend ordered a flat white which was so delicious! I read on the coffee machine that there were hints of vanilla and pistachio for a sweeter profile. I liked the matcha - it has a deep but well-balanced flavour with some bitterness to it. I had it with oat milk but looking back, it probably serves better with regular milk. The chocolate croissant was a standard yummy treat. Overall, I would return if I'm in the area and looking for a quick drink!

We came here on a sunday for coffee and the place was packed! Sorry for the pic as I had drank it before I remembered to take the picture. I had the white. I felt like the milk was creamy and loved the foam on it. Good Latte but I didn't like the espresso beans used here (just a personal preference). More on the fruitier side The service was super friendly and nice. They clean up fast. The main issue was that there was nowhere to sit. People had their jackets everywhere and so it was hard to find somewhere to put down the coffee. I had to rush and down my white quickly. I would say if you want to come here and enjoy some coffee. Come early to get a spot. Or they should see if they can put a table in the middle section to allow for more standing areas. Overall very minimalist coffee shop. Simple coffee options. No frills. Great service Good design I would give it a 3.5 if reviews allowed

I'm so glad that this place has reopened! I've been following this couple since their Iktsu place in Gastown, and then their move to Clark drive. Their matcha never disappoints me. They're such kind people! So happy to be back! I ordered a matcha latte with a bit of sugar, and it had nice tea flavour with a perfect amount of foam. This time around felt a bit too milky, and diluted out the matcha flavour I was wanting. The seating area looks a bit sparse, and I imagine the seats don't look that comfortable (I didn't end up sitting). There is a standing table area too.

Wanted to check this place out, as I heard good things about the matcha. I got the "green" which is matcha + milk. Pretty good matcha, not too sweet (how I like it) but a more mild matcha flavor. A little pricey as well, as it's 12oz for $7 + tax. But overall, received friendly and quick service in a clean establishment.

Cute place with not a lot of space. Counter at the front for ordering, then through a short set of stairs, it opens up into a small seating area. The drink I had, the green (matcha+milk) was absolutely delicious, though! There was a bit of a line up but service was great. Perfect for grabbing and walking around the area.

Minimal and hip aesthetic. Friendly staff. Matcha latte was good and very enjoyable. Definitely catered towards people who enjoy the match flavor itself and not the sweeter drinks. Do think it is on the pricier end for the size of the drink, so wouldn't make it a regular spot but would come back again.

Went for a quick stop at Oide's new location to check it out! Got a matcha milk with sugar. The matcha flavour is really strong and delicious which is why I liked it! But for my taste, too much milk. The matcha is also bitter.. I hope it's due to barista error rather than the quality of the matcha! When you enter the cafe, it doesn't look like there's anywhere to sit but you need to go downstairs! There's only a few spots to sit. There's a large table with one side as a stand-up area and the other side has seats. The other sit-down areas were.. interesting. All the tables were at chair seat height. Basically makes them unusable other than for putting your cup down.

The ambiance is nice, was little warm in there. The coffee and matcha was yummy. They keep there menu very simple. It's a minimalist coffee shop which I love. I think is run by a couple who might be from Japan. Cause Oide is Japanese word.

Atmosphere and seating is a cool social spot for coffee lovers. Limited menu! I wasnt sure how or what was available, my cousin asked the right questions though. I ended up with a cold matcha. Pay Street parking only. $16 for 2 drinks

Holiday Chocolate Kugelhopf~ dark chocolate sweet bread studded with chocolate chips, citrus peels, and almond praline, rolled in sugar. I really liked kugelhoph's dough and almond praline! It wasn't too heavy, lighter texture and praline wasn't too sweet. So, sugar coating paired with dough very well. I would like to get this one again! Overall, I really enjoyed both Christmas items. I like they have lots of choices of sweets and donuts and their portions are big. The tables are small though, and a bit cramped inside, unlike what I'm used to at Main St. There's also minimal wall outlets for laptops or phone charging. So make sure you have your devices charged before coming here to work or study. Outside it's walking distance from other stores snd restaurants. It's a nice commercial neighborhood. I am writing this review because my email to them went unanswered…read more I am shocked and disappointed at the way I was treated after spending $40. I am a HUGE 49th fan and love their dougnuts and coffee. Whenever I have friends in town, or someone needs a suggestion on where to visit, I always say "49th has really good coffee and doughnuts". Unfortunately, my mind has changed, and I don't see myself ever recommending this location. As an avid coffee drinker, I am pretty picky on where I choose to have coffee and love the cafe culture in Vancouver. My mom loves doughnuts and we had come all the way from Langley for a day in Kits, so I recommended we go to 49th! I spent about $40 on 4 doughnuts, 2 maple sea salt lattes and a drip coffee. The maple sea salt lattes looked beautiful and my doughnut was delicious as usual (big fan of the french crueller). Unfortunately, our maple sea salt lattes were very very strong and had no maple or sea salt flavoring in my opinion. I decided to ask the girl at the register if we could please get a different drink because it was super strong and didn't taste good. I was met with SO much attitude, i was actually shocked. I went into it very friendly and politely asked for an alternate drink as i did spend $12 on these two drinks (and life gets expensive!!). She then goes "well, you probably don't like the taste of coffee then".... I actually didn't know how to respond. But i did say "I'm a huge 49th fan and love coffee!". Then I had asked how many shots are in the small and she said "2". I then had asked if we could get a new/different drink and she goes "I'll give it to you this one time, but next time you'll have to pay." This is NOT the way to treat a paying customer. It felt so rude and accusatory. I very rarely come to Kits, so she wouldn't have recognized me and am an honest girl who works hard for my money. When the customer comes up politely, you offer to make it right. I hope the next person that comes up not satisfied with their drink is treated a lot better than how I was.

Unfortunately, it was not the same. I was glad to see the same amazing pastries and tarts and sandwiches, all fresh and beautifully displayed in the display case. I ordered a croissant and it was superb as usual. I also ordered one of thier baguettes to bring home. My kid and I think SV has the best baguettes in the city. They are crusty on the outside, soft yet chewy inside, and just consistently perfect. This one was as good as all the others we've had from here. Yeah! I wanted an Earl Grey tea which IMO is a pretty basic order. Surprisingly, they did not have it. I got a green tea instead (their tea selection was very limited). And the girl who took my order, as well as the girl who rang me up at the cash, could NOT have been more aloof. I smiled and tried to make a little small talk, especially with the girl at the cash when I took out my debit card and asked how to pay (she just pointed at the tap symbol on the machine but my card is not tap-enabled. I always joke with people about this). This girl would not even look at me. Zero eye contact. No "thank you", nada. I just got really cold vibes from the two of them there at the counter. (At least when I picked up my tea at the beverage counter, the guy there made eye contact and semi smiled). (Side note: the staff at the Yaletown site have always been super pleasant and friendly, and this really makes a difference. To me, anyhow). Contrary to another reviewer's posting, the restaurant and the washroom was very clean when I visited here. No issues there. Honestly, I'm not sure I'll return to this site. There are so many cafes and bakeries around, I'd rather go to one with a warmer vibe. Or stay with my Yaletown SV.

The combination of flavors, the runny egg yolks, the gooeyness of the cheese...it was just such a wonderfully comforting and belly warming meal. I saw a Cinnamon Honey Latte on the board and decided to order that for my drink. These days, I can never tell when the word "Latte" is being used to describe a coffee beverage or whether it's being used to describe a beverage that has milk in it. A Matcha latte for example, tends to just be a sweetedned Matcha beverage with milk in it. No coffee thrown in. I was kinda hoping this Cinnamon Honey Latte would be milk with cinnamon and honey thrown in. It turned out to be a coffee beverage. No complaints about it. It's on me for assuming that it was milk with cinnamon and honey thrown in. I should have probably asked our server about the beverage before simply ordering it. Will make sure to do that if/when we end up here again. Kinda had my eye on the Turkish Apple Tea though so might just order that next time and the whole "Latte" dilemma wouldn't be an issue with that.
