Visited Freshpress Coffee Bar recently and had the best time trying their Sakura Set--a beautiful seasonal tray that's as delicious as it is aesthetic! For just $16.99, the set came with a fluffy strawberry chiffon cake, ice cream with dacaron, and chocolate-dipped strawberries with pistachio, plus a drink of your choice. I went with the Iced Strawberry Matcha and it was light, refreshing, and perfectly paired with the sweets. I also tried their matcha mochi, which was soft and chewy, and their buttery shortbread cookies in matcha, pistachio, and earl grey flavors--each one had a rich, homemade taste. The Shanghai Fog was also super smooth and comforting. They also have locally sourced coffee beans for purchase. Everything was beautifully presented, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend visiting while the Sakura menu is still available!
I've always wanted to try this place as I've heard good things. I came here for a coffee meeting and I was pretty happy with my drink. The space is pretty small, with only has three small tables on one side and some bar stools on the other side. They serve a variety of specialty coffees, tea latte, organic tea and smoothies. They also serve cakes and fresh pastries. It's a great grab-and-go place for the morning, and you have the option to sit down for meetings or small group of coffee chat. I ordered the Ferror Latte, which is Hazelnut + chocolate + espresso. It came with a bowl, instead of a coffee mug, which was interesting. I looked for a handle specifically, and there's none. I had to use both hands to drink it. I have a feeling that it was on purpose, cater to the drink. It was creamy, bitter and sweet all at once, very unique taste, to my liking. Normally I take my coffee black, but I was fancying for something with chocolate and creamy, and this hit the spot. My overall experience was pretty good. If I crave for anything special hand crafted coffee, this is the place to be.

Tucked away in a strip mall on No.3 Road, this unassuming gem highlights roasters exclusively from Canada, the furthest one out of Toronto. They were featuring three different roasters today, and the barista had very detailed descriptions of each. Space is small, as all the boutique coffee joints in Richmond seem to be. There are only three small tables and some countertop seating inside, but they have a few more outside the shop. Relaxed and friendly vibe!
This is a peaceful petite coffee shop with light jazz music playing that you can indulge in a relaxing and calm space for coffee experience. Their coffee has a medium strength aftertaste which is not so bitter subject to personal preference. I like it. The quality of the coffee is stable and always better with a piece of pastry. When it is not busy hours the barista would bring the coffee over to your table. The location is near to No 3 Road. There are parking lots in the area and easy to find the place.
Did a quick Google search on coffee spots in Richmond before our drive back to Seattle. Location: It's a small spot inside the shopping center plaza, we had units trouble locating it from Google maps. It's hard to find parking in the plaza, almost every stall had a 'reserve for *insert business'. Once you step inside, you feel like you're In a Korean cafe with the aesthetics and music. Free Wi-Fi, but encouraged to only stay for a limited time (I think 1.5 hours ?) Seating available inside and out I got a pour over with soy milk. Which was not too acidic and smooth. They also serve pastries and merch !
After a quick search on Yelp, I decided to stop by for a quick morning caffeinated beverage. When in Vancouver, I feel like I need to get a London Fog. I got the London fog with oat milk. It was the perfect amount of sweetness with a strong Earl grey tea flavor. It was really good. The only downside is that the coffee shop is pretty small and all the indoor seats were taken when I was there. Luckily, I was only planning to grab and go. Otherwise, I would recommend trying their London fog here!
What a cute little Coffee Bar hidden in the middle of a strip mall. If you do t look for it you will miss it. The sign was very hard to see, so I took a picture of the outside to give you an idea. The service was great, not sure if they were the owners or not. They were teaching a young lady the ropes of the business. Their burnt cheesecake was amazing and went very well with the coffee. I highly recommend if you're in the area or even a short drive to stop by and experience what they have to offer.
This was my first visit at this coffee shop that shares the space with a travel agency. Ambiance is modern although the plastic flowers would be better if they were potted plants. Coffee and food selection was decent. They had a drink and bagel special that I enjoyed. This shop is located at The Paramount buildings across from the mall.
The place is very small and not cozy. The tables are so small that it can't fit much and me and my 2 other friends came here to get coffee but we wanted to get some work done that their tables don't even fit 2 laptops on it so we had to split up. We've only been sitting for 30 mins and the owner rudely came up to us and said are you all together can you move. Because more people came in but we were all customers. The Carmel latte was ok. Nothing special wouldn't come back here would have been better if we just went to Starbucks to work and enjoy coffee comfortably

I could not recommend this place enough. From the moment you step in, you're greeted with calm music, a warm, cozy space. The whole place feels like a hug. We spent a few minutes studying the menu, which has images, I always find that helpful. We decided on the lavender matcha and sea salt caramel macchiato. We were initially not going to get a bite to eat, however, the cookies were staring us down. I will be dreaming of the pistachio cookies. They tasted like they were made with a grandmothers love. We talked with the owner for a few minutes. We learned she owns the shop alone, makes all the baked goods by herself. She empathized the importance of quality over quantity for her and her shop. She was so sweet and offered us a matcha cookie made with ceremonial grade matcha. I can't tell you how much we love this place. It will become our regular spot. Our first time here and certainly not the last.

Located in between the strip mall corridor, is an unassuming small coffee shop with unique kitschy bags of coffee and decor. The barista wasn't too friendly though - actually I don't recall her saying anything to me at all! I tried the classic latte and it was OK - not super smooth like Arabica but perhaps a step up from your run of the mill coffee stands. read more

Fresh press coffee offers various type of drink. They expanded more different type of matcha item, so, I visited to get strawberry matcha latte. Their matcha flavor was very strong, I really liked it. Then, strawberry puree came after. In general, fruit flavor is always dominant than matcha, but, this place is matcha dominant in nice way. Needed to get some solid work done so I searched around Yelp and it didn't disappoint in its suggestions. Fresh Press Coffee Bar is a mini café that definitely has a connected community of frequent customers - I say this as I sit and enjoy my drink and listen to the conversations of reminiscence and "welcome backs" as customer and owner greet each other. It was warm to know this café has such a sweet following. And I can see why. The drinks are carefully and thoughtfully prepared and presented. I wish I was a coffee drinker because it smelled delicious and the housemade roasted almond milk sounded great, but the owner recommended the oat milk alternative for my London Fog, when I asked for no milk. The oak milk was quite apparent in my drink but as I kept drinking, the flavours melded together and it was quite pleasant. I liked how the London Fog was not overly sweet and the tea taste was highlighted. I was hoping to catch a taste of their London Fog cake or cheesecake but none were available when I went - I guess that means I need to visit again. Overall, a cute little café for a personal and local touch. read more

One of the few microroaster coffee cafes in Richmond. Using a unique brand of beans that I've never heard of, the coffee was pleasantly neutral - not too acidic, nor sweet or bitter. It was interesting to say the least. The interior was unique as well as it wasn't the typical square cafe but a triangle shape. I really loved the mural on the wall and the vibes of this space. Fresh Press Coffee is an incredible coffee bar. The owner who was working at the counter has done an incredible job. I found her shop on yelp as I'm only looking for a pour over coffee. Yes, I found that. She uses a V60, beans used were from Monogram Roastery. The presentation (picture attached) was stellar. Her knowledge and verbal delivery of the coffee was beyond what I expected. Now the bites, the owner makes most of these herself. When you order your coffee ask her pairing recommendations. This is my new favorite coffee shop in Vancouver. read more
Nice service, my coffee today was a lightly roasted Peruvian flavor. A few food items available, but we were just here for coffee. We walked here and I can see parking being an issue on early morning but no problem now. Like the music played in the background. read more

Fresh Press is such a cute little hidden gem in a small plaza in Richmond. The space is really small, but the owner utilized it really well by adding plenty of cute tables and furniture. The lady working when I came in was super kind and helpful and had a big smile on her face the entire time I was there. I ordered an almond milk latte, ham and cheese croissant and 3 (one of each flavour) macarons. I originally was just coming in to get a coffee, but after seeing the croissant and hearing they were baked fresh that day I couldn't say no. To be honest, the coffee was just alright. It tasted a bit bland than what I'm used to. BUT, I loved the croissant and macaron. The lovely lady working heated the croissant for me and it melted perfectly into my mouth. I meant to share it with my brother, but I ate it all and bought him a separate one because it was so good - HA! The whole ambiance while I was there was very relaxing and peaceful. Unlike most coffee shops, this place was quiet and calm. I loved the acoustic music playing in the background - it definitely added to the ambiance. I'll definitely be back soon - to post up and work here for a few hours AND for more of those croissants. YUM! read more
HIDDEN COFFEE SHOP. Tucked away at one of the strip malls in Richmond is this small cute coffee shop. They served a bunch of unique baked goods along with a super unique menu. * Earl grey tea shortbread ~ this had a light hint of earl grey! It's on the more dry biscuit side so I highly recommend this with a cup of coffee. * Sea salted chocolate sable ~ this had a nice layer of sea salt with the chocolate cookie. I can assume this is a highly purchased item with their salted caramel macchiato. * Sea salted Caramel macchiato ~ for all the salted caramel lovers this is the drink for you! It's rich in sea salt with a nice subtle taste of caramel. You can't get it hot or cold. * Lavender caffe latte ~ this was very delicious, good amount of lavender (we added more) and ultra fragrant. Not too sweet but bitterness evened out with the lavender. * Basque burnt cheesecake ~ you can't go wrong with basque cheesecake. It was creamy, texture was good, and it was smooth! * Macarons Rose, Matcha, chocolate ~ rose was super delicious. I liked the macarons the most of all the items. Not too sweet but very strong flavours! * 7/10 ~ overall super cute cafe, I love their macarons and how delicious and airy they were. We wanted to grab coffee on our way to the airport and we were not disappointed by Fresh Press. This little cafe is tucked away in an unassuming Richmond strip mall and I almost felt guilty ordering my coffee to go because the tiny interior had a pleasant vibe. We ordered a latte and a pour over; I was given a choice from a variety of Monogram beans. I really appreciate that the lady who walked me through each of the flavor profiles did so in a very knowledgeable way without being patronizing. You could the staff knew their stuff & cared about the experience. If you're in the area, you'd be doing yourself a disservice by passing this cafe up. read more

Fresh Press Coffee is such a hidden gem in Richmond! Tucked away in a corner of a plaza, this cozy cafe is perfect for a coffee date with friends or a productive day of studying! And the quiet and secludedness of this place made me feel like I was in a time capsule. Love the music they play -mainly instrumental jazz. I'm also super grateful that they have a private bathroom! The owners were so friendly, passionate and proud about their products, which is a pleasure to see! Food: I got a regular sized mocha! It's 70% cacao and they hand-make the chocolate! And a Poppy seed cake! My friend got a caramel macchiato, it tasted really smooth! I liked that they're cake tasted yummy but not overly sweet! The coffee by itself was kinda pricy! Plus tip was around $7! But they have a coffee and cake combo for $9.50! I'm honestly thankful that my usual to go cafe was closed, because it led me here! I've been wanting to come here for a while and since my favourite coffee shop closed (rip cafe noire) I finally found the opportunity to come. I got an iced latte and a ham and cheese croissant. The latte tasted good initially, nice and dark and full of depth and flavour, but the paper straw that I drank it with altered the taste once it started to get soggy in the coffee. Next time I'll bring my own straw and hope that the same delicious taste can last throughout the entire drink. The ham and cheese croissant was nice and flaky, the lovely worker even warmed it up, one downside is that it did not heat all the way through, so that was a bit disappointing yet it still tasted great, filled me up. Looking at their menu, there are many things I'd like to try, so I will be back! read more

I really don't expect much from an Espresso Bar in the middle of Richmond where Chinese food rules! But Fresh Press Coffee Bar is just a pleasant surprise! 2 kind of Singl beans with different tasting profile to choose from Mellow or Bold? regardless what espresso drink you order! I usually like a bolder flavour for my cappuccino drink vs a pour over. (+1) And if you opt for V60 Pour Over, the barista would match that with another bean. Milk foamed perfectly with skilled latte art. I usually don't order any pastry at Coffee Shop but the Coconut Macaroon deserves a shoutout. The shop is small but cozy. Tucked near the back of Lansdowne Strip Mall. Thanks Yelp App as I doubt I would have find it if I just walking around. Highly recommend if you are in the area! read more

Indeed a tricky location to locate... It is across from the Lansdowne Mall. The shop is inside the overhang next to the New Link College. Parking is another tricky thing. All parking stalls are marked reserved for the mall business. This is a very small, clean and comfortable cafe with white subway tile themed. There are three small tables and a long counter. I ordered a cup of Mocha with Almond milk. I costed $7 over my normal Americano cost $3. The mocha is just so so. But, I liked the atmosphere here and the music. As far as pastry, there is a small selection but nothing looked very attractive. I will come back again for my Americano. And, I appreciated a small shop like this in Richmond. read more

This is one of the few artisanal cafés amongst a sea of coffee chain outlets in Richmond. I've been here before and this is where I discovered my favourite coffee magazine, Drift, volume 2. It's all about Japan's coffee culture. Their coffee comes from suppliers like Matchstick, Timbertrain, Phil and Sebastian, etc., all impressive roasters. I enjoyed a flat white while I perused my favourite magazine. They also offer pastries from Cadeaux Bakery in gastown. They looked very tempting. During my visit I chatted with the owner about cold press and nitro coffee and how she takes shortcuts to make her versions. Nice place to stay awhile. read more

Fresh Press Coffee Bar is a lovely minimalist looking coffee shop offering gourmet coffee and in-house baked goods in Richmond (owned by a baker). Such a 'fresh find' among the many bubble tea shops in Richmond! It is tucked in a mini mall complex on No.3 Road and Alderbridge, near Lansdowne Centre. Right when we entered the shop, we could feel the immediate zen and chill atmosphere of this place. Jazz music was softly playing in the background and customers were quietly enjoying their coffees and pastries. The girl at the counter had a lovely demeanour and a gentle voice. I could be mistaken, but I think she was Jen (the owner). I learned from another instagrammer that Jen is also a baker and makes her pastries fresh and in-house. I ordered the Honey Milk Chamomile latte, which is made with their organic chamomile tea. It was so nice and comforting, and the sweetness was subtle. Some places make their tea lattes grossly over-sweet like candy (I'm looking at you, Starbucks) but I liked how gentle the sweetness was in this beverage. The ham and cheese croissant was freshly baked today and tasted very good. The Americano had a rich deep flavour so we would love to return to try more beverages here. We also had a delicious chocolate waffle and an original waffle. I would have given this 5 stars but my original waffle was slightly burnt (as seen in photo). I don't like the taste of burnt surfaces and it aesthetically wasn't pleasing, so I have given this as 4.5 stars. Overall, I highly recommend this place, and only wished it was open later too. It would make a wonderful chill evening coffee spot! I would have stayed longer but then I started coughing (I have a cold which gets amplified with asthma) so I left to avoid disturbing other patrons. Parking tip: Difficult to park due to many spots being reserved. Parking on a weekday is easier. Or park at Lansdowne Mall (that lot is always half empty anyway) and walk over. Make sure you walk into Lansdowne Mall first before heading over to Fresh Press, so the parking security at Lansdowne won't ticket you. read more
