For just $16.99, the set came with a fluffy strawberry chiffon cake, ice cream with dacaron, and chocolate-dipped strawberries with pistachio, plus a drink of your choice. I went with the Iced Strawberry Matcha and it was light, refreshing, and perfectly paired with the sweets. I also tried their matcha mochi, which was soft and chewy, and their buttery shortbread cookies in matcha, pistachio, and earl grey flavors--each one had a rich, homemade taste. The Shanghai Fog was also super smooth and comforting. They also have locally sourced coffee beans for purchase. Everything was beautifully presented, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. I've always wanted to try this place as I've heard good things. I came here for a coffee meeting and I was pretty happy with my drink. The space is pretty small, with only has three small tables on one side and some bar stools on the other side. They serve a variety of specialty coffees, tea latte, organic tea and smoothies. They also serve cakes and fresh pastries. It's a great grab-and-go place for the morning, and you have the option to sit down for meetings or small group of coffee chat. I ordered the Ferror Latte, which is Hazelnut + chocolate + espresso. It came with a bowl, instead of a coffee mug, which was interesting. I looked for a handle specifically, and there's none. I had to use both hands to drink it. I have a feeling that it was on purpose, cater to the drink. It was creamy, bitter and sweet all at once, very unique taste, to my liking. Normally I take my coffee black, but I was fancying for something with chocolate and creamy, and this hit the spot. My overall experience was pretty good. Location: It's a small spot inside the shopping center plaza, we had units trouble locating it from Google maps. It's hard to find parking in the plaza, almost every stall had a 'reserve for *insert business'. Once you step inside, you feel like you're In a Korean cafe with the aesthetics and music. After a quick search on Yelp, I decided to stop by for a quick morning caffeinated beverage. When in Vancouver, I feel like I need to get a London Fog. I got the London fog with oat milk. It was the perfect amount of sweetness with a strong Earl grey tea flavor. It was really good. What a cute little Coffee Bar hidden in the middle of a strip mall. If you do t look for it you will miss it. The sign was very hard to see, so I took a picture of the outside to give you an idea. The service was great, not sure if they were the owners or not. They were teaching a young lady the ropes of the business. Their burnt cheesecake was amazing and went very well with the coffee. The tables are so small that it can't fit much and me and my 2 other friends came here to get coffee but we wanted to get some work done that their tables don't even fit 2 laptops on it so we had to split up. I could not recommend this place enough. From the moment you step in, you're greeted with calm music, a warm, cozy space. The whole place feels like a hug. We spent a few minutes studying the menu, which has images, I always find that helpful. We decided on the lavender matcha and sea salt caramel macchiato. We were initially not going to get a bite to eat, however, the cookies were staring us down. I will be dreaming of the pistachio cookies. They tasted like they were made with a grandmothers love. We talked with the owner for a few minutes. We learned she owns the shop alone, makes all the baked goods by herself. She empathized the importance of quality over quantity for her and her shop. She was so sweet and offered us a matcha cookie made with ceremonial grade matcha. I can't tell you how much we love this place. It will become our regular spot. I've heard many things about this place and I finally decided to go check it out! As a group of 3, we came to try their drinks. They have their menu posted just on the door so that you can see it from the outside. They had a lot of different options for both tea and coffee, and I decided to order a Iced Thai Tea Latte ($5.75). The taste was as expected -- had a strong Thai tea flavour that didn't taste overly artificial. I would actually compare it to a Thai Milk Tea that you might find in a bubble tea store, but slightly more refreshing and less sugary. I quite enjoyed this drink! The area inside was not too big, with around 3 small tables that seats 2-3 people each. I wouldn't necessarily say it is a good place to study as there is a lot of in and out from customers, but it would be a good place to chat and catch up with friends. Needed to get some solid work done so I searched around Yelp and it didn't disappoint in its suggestions. Fresh Press Coffee Bar is a mini café that definitely has a connected community of frequent customers - I say this as I sit and enjoy my drink and listen to the conversations of reminiscence and "welcome backs" as customer and owner greet each other. It was warm to know this café has such a sweet following. And I can see why. The drinks are carefully and thoughtfully prepared and presented. I wish I was a coffee drinker because it smelled delicious and the housemade roasted almond milk sounded great, but the owner recommended the oat milk alternative for my London Fog, when I asked for no milk. The oak milk was quite apparent in my drink but as I kept drinking, the flavours melded together and it was quite pleasant. I liked how the London Fog was not overly sweet and the tea taste was highlighted. I was hoping to catch a taste of their London Fog cake or cheesecake but none were available when I went - I guess that means I need to visit again. Fresh Press is such a cute little hidden gem in a small plaza in Richmond. The space is really small, but the owner utilized it really well by adding plenty of cute tables and furniture. The lady working when I came in was super kind and helpful and had a big smile on her face the entire time I was there. I ordered an almond milk latte, ham and cheese croissant and 3 (one of each flavour) macarons. I originally was just coming in to get a coffee, but after seeing the croissant and hearing they were baked fresh that day I couldn't say no. To be honest, the coffee was just alright. It tasted a bit bland than what I'm used to. BUT, I loved the croissant and macaron. The lovely lady working heated the croissant for me and it melted perfectly into my mouth. I meant to share it with my brother, but I ate it all and bought him a separate one because it was so good - HA! The whole ambiance while I was there was very relaxing and peaceful. Unlike most coffee shops, this place was quiet and calm. I loved the acoustic music playing in the background - it definitely added to the ambiance. They served a bunch of unique baked goods along with a super unique menu. * Earl grey tea shortbread ~ this had a light hint of earl grey! It's on the more dry biscuit side so I highly recommend this with a cup of coffee. * Sea salted chocolate sable ~ this had a nice layer of sea salt with the chocolate cookie. I can assume this is a highly purchased item with their salted caramel macchiato. * Sea salted Caramel macchiato ~ for all the salted caramel lovers this is the drink for you! It's rich in sea salt with a nice subtle taste of caramel. You can't get it hot or cold. * Lavender caffe latte ~ this was very delicious, good amount of lavender (we added more) and ultra fragrant. Not too sweet but bitterness evened out with the lavender. * Basque burnt cheesecake ~ you can't go wrong with basque cheesecake. It was creamy, texture was good, and it was smooth! * Macarons Rose, Matcha, chocolate ~ rose was super delicious. I liked the macarons the most of all the items. Not too sweet but very strong flavours! * 7/10 ~ overall super cute cafe, I love their macarons and how delicious and airy they were. I've been wanting to come here for a while and since my favourite coffee shop closed (rip cafe noire) I finally found the opportunity to come. I got an iced latte and a ham and cheese croissant. The latte tasted good initially, nice and dark and full of depth and flavour, but the paper straw that I drank it with altered the taste once it started to get soggy in the coffee. Next time I'll bring my own straw and hope that the same delicious taste can last throughout the entire drink. The ham and cheese croissant was nice and flaky, the lovely worker even warmed it up, one downside is that it did not heat all the way through, so that was a bit disappointing yet it still tasted great, filled me up. All parking stalls are marked reserved for the mall business. This is a very small, clean and comfortable cafe with white subway tile themed. There are three small tables and a long counter. I ordered a cup of Mocha with Almond milk. I costed $7 over my normal Americano cost $3. The mocha is just so so. But, I liked the atmosphere here and the music. It's all about Japan's coffee culture. Their coffee comes from suppliers like Matchstick, Timbertrain, Phil and Sebastian, etc., all impressive roasters. I enjoyed a flat white while I perused my favourite magazine. They also offer pastries from Cadeaux Bakery in gastown. They looked very tempting. Such a 'fresh find' among the many bubble tea shops in Richmond! It is tucked in a mini mall complex on No.3 Road and Alderbridge, near Lansdowne Centre. Right when we entered the shop, we could feel the immediate zen and chill atmosphere of this place. Jazz music was softly playing in the background and customers were quietly enjoying their coffees and pastries. The girl at the counter had a lovely demeanour and a gentle voice. I could be mistaken, but I think she was Jen (the owner). I learned from another instagrammer that Jen is also a baker and makes her pastries fresh and in-house. I ordered the Honey Milk Chamomile latte, which is made with their organic chamomile tea. It was so nice and comforting, and the sweetness was subtle. Some places make their tea lattes grossly over-sweet like candy (I'm looking at you, Starbucks) but I liked how gentle the sweetness was in this beverage. The ham and cheese croissant was freshly baked today and tasted very good. The Americano had a rich deep flavour so we would love to return to try more beverages here. We also had a delicious chocolate waffle and an original waffle. I would have given this 5 stars but my original waffle was slightly burnt (as seen in photo). I don't like the taste of burnt surfaces and it aesthetically wasn't pleasing, so I have given this as 4.5 stars. Overall, I highly recommend this place, and only wished it was open later too. It would make a wonderful chill evening coffee spot! I would have stayed longer but then I started coughing (I have a cold which gets amplified with asthma) so I left to avoid disturbing other patrons. Parking tip: Difficult to park due to many spots being reserved. Parking on a weekday is easier. Or park at Lansdowne Mall (that lot is always half empty anyway) and walk over. Make sure you walk into Lansdowne Mall first before heading over to Fresh Press, so the parking security at Lansdowne won't ticket you. read more
