Really small shop with great pour overs. They let you choose your own bean from a selection that they have on their shelf, and the coffee is made to order. The pourover itself tasted great! Unfortunately, it was quite expensive (about $8cad) and they were sold out of cold brew when I went in the afternoon. Coffee shop for true coffee lovers! The menu has been paired down to just focus on coffee, which is completely fine with me. I do appreciate how there is the option to appease the truly obsessive coffee fanatics with a 'self brew' option ($1 CAD off!) So you can tweak your own brew to your heart's content! I did not explore this option on my first visit, and I went with the ethiopian bean pour over, and it came out light and delicious! The space is a bit tiny. There is limited seating, but the space is also filled with all sorts of coffee related knick knacks. I greatly appreciate how the small batch whole bean roasting dates are printed on the bags so you know how fresh they are. I took home a 100 gram bag of ultra small batch coffee from Panama, and it was worth it! read more

When I went, they were only offering coffee. As someone with zero coffee experience, it was kind of overwhelming but staff were helpful and let me know that I was intentionally ordering an expresso shot with a lot of caffeine at 2 pm. Amazing! This place is a rare find in Richmond for specialty coffee. The place itself is nice and cozy, menu and coffee selection are awesome! The barista is nice and friendly although not chatty but that's what a cafe is for, to relax and some quietness. This place is a definite go-to if you are looking for specialty coffee. Service was appalling. I have never been treated with such disdain just from trying to get a cup of coffee, even from world renowned coffee shops from France to Hong Kong. The barista/owner expected me to be fully acquainted with the beans without any semblance of an explanation, and seemed to look down on me for having a preference in terms of what kind of taste I am looking for. He will claim that he is unable to serve someone who is unable to tell them what kind of roast they like. As someone who is supposedly knowledgeable in their field, you are supposed to give advice to the customer who may not know much about the roast or the beans. This speaks volumes in terms of what kind of person the owner is; if you are such a coffee enthusiast, wouldn't you want to educate and welcome people who may not understand your expertise, rather than gatekeep and make your customers feel bad? read more

They are pretty. The size of cheesecake is small compared to most bakery. They are thinner. Peach cheesecake is like original cheese cake + peaches on top + a little peaches inside the cake. Not much peachy flavour. Their tiny pretzels for decoration on cakes are not crunch, a bit soggy. Earl grey cheesecake has very light earl grey flavour. Mocha cheesecake okay. Has mocha flavour. Banana cocoa pastry is the best compared to others. tiramisu really watery. Even the mascarpone layer has wired porous texture (it is not fluffy. Don't know how to describe, try it if you want to. Not recommended at all. Costco has well better tiramisu. I'm just comparing their tiramisu with Costco's, not even other bakeries) read more

Super duper smooth cheesecakes! We had the blueberry and earl grey. They are both great especially the earl grey - the balance of the cheesecake and the tea flavour is just perfect for me. The service was superb as well! We sat outside for the cheesecakes and was wondering about our croissant to-go. Our family wanted to check this place out. Unfortunately, R Ki Coffee Lab is very difficult to find. We hard time finding them and we were using Google Maps! We finally found them, but with much frustration. We tried calling the number that Google provided, but nobody picked up. So we thought maybe they were busy. When we did finally arrive, the barista greeted us, and asked us for how many and we said a party of five. He said we could meet upstairs if we wanted to, or we could remain on the main floor. I checked upstairs, and we could have been accommodated there, except there was a group already there (a small group of 3) that took the large table that could have accomodated us. So we decided to remain on the main floor. Once we started getting settled, we realized that they did not have any desserts left, and that's what we came to R Ki Coffee Lab for! So then we decided to just leave. They do have a warm and amazing ambiance that greeted us when we entered inside. A lot of thoughtfulness, at least it seemed, went into the ambiance and atmosphere. I wanted to give a 3 star rating, but our experience there would not allow for it. I would be open to giving R Ki Coffee another chance. But please step up your service! At least have a working phone number where customers can reach you. They also close quite early at 8pm on Sundays. In my opinion, that's prime time for many people to go and look for places for dessert and maybe some tea/coffee with their desserts. If you're closed at 8pm, your missing out on prime time opportunities for your business. We cannot recommend R Ki Coffee Lab. Not at this moment anyways. Perhaps we come back in the future. Maybe. Good quality coffee beans for the price! Parking can be tough due to limited number of parking spots.

This's the REAL coffee & pastries shop in Richmond, they moved from Robson street to serving Richmond area, we should gladly to have them in Richmond, I can't said it's best, but so far I can't find that any better place. read more
