    Ooey gooey chocolate chip cookie

I have seen this new little coffee shop, where the old Take Five was, on Granville, but it's always looked so busy, so I waited until 2pm on a Friday. It's a cute place, lots of seating. Some tables have a 'no laptop' signs, but seems there lots of tables for laptops as well. I ordered the flat white and fresh warm chocolate chip cookie that just came out of the oven. Everyone in line got one, it was too good to pass up! I highly recommend, they were soft gooey and so good. The flat white was good, but too milky for me, needed a stronger espresso flavour. They have some specialties like the pistachio latte and different matcha options. Overall, it was a pleasant place to have a coffee but don't think I would be back unless I see those cookies coming out of the oven!

This is a really nice coffee shop in downtown. The decor is beautiful - everything from the maple/cement color, the fluted wood backdrop, and curved lines make it a really nice. The espresso flavor itself is not my favorite but overall thought it was a great cup of coffee. They have a nice system set up for the espresso making as well.

i dropped by on a wednesday around 3:30 pm for the grand opening. slo coffee is located where take five used to be, inside pacific centre, with entrances from granville street or down the hall, between saje and pandora. it's a welcome addition to granville street, a calming café in a busy area. the interior draws from wabi sabi principles, focusing on simplicity, natural materials, and quiet imperfections. warm wood with visible grain, concrete floors, a curved concrete counter, and rounded benches and stools create a grounded, lived in feel. muted colours, gentle lighting, and touches of greenery make the space feel calm and unhurried. on one side of the wall, there's a fun stadium style, bleacher type seating area, which adds a playful, communal spot to sit with a view of the baristas in action. nothing is flashy or over designed, it's a beautiful, thoughtful space meant to slow down and appreciate small details. i tried the pistachio matcha latte with oat milk. it was a little sweet for my liking, with the pistachio flavour more prominent than the matcha, but it was smooth and comforting. the drink feels approachable, perfect for anyone new to matcha or looking for a cozy, dessert like drink. overall, it balances indulgence with calm simplicity, just like the café itself. they also offer pastries, breakfast items, bagels, and sandwiches, as well as merch including branded coffee mugs, tshirts, hoodies, and coffee beans. slo coffee is a thoughtful, well designed space with a relaxed vibe and friendly baristas. it adds a much needed coffee shop to granville street and the downtown core.

Cute spot for coffee. Not much seating so it's advisable to get your drinks to go. Latte was nice and smooth. Extra $0.75 for alternative milks. Chocolate chip cookie was nice and tasty with a good amount of sprinkled salt.

Grabbed a matcha latte and a croissant here - it was enjoyable, but nothing really stood out.

I think it was one of those Cherry Blossom Food Festivals that brought this place to my attention…read moreabout a year or two ago. Been wanting to try it for awhile and now I finally have. We ordered the following: Tiramisu Latte Caprese Bite London Fog Apple Cookie Cherry Matcha Tonic Tiramisu Sea Salt Caramel Gelato The Cherry Matcha Tonic was pretty but wasn't too crazy about the flavor. I should have just gone with my original gut instinct and chosen a hot beverage like Hojicha Latte or something like that. I was sort of thirsting for something cooler for a change though, and the Cherry Matcha Tonic was the first "cool" drink that caught my eye so I decided to go for it. Won't do that again. Everything else was good though. The Sea Salt Caramel Gelato was the star of the show! In the store there's a sign beneath their gelato section that says "Canadian Gelato Champion". I believe it after tasting the Sea Salt Caramel! They had Nama Chocolates too. I was tempted to get some but...only so much a person's wallet and waistline can handle at one time. Will try the Nama Chocolate some other time. You can order in person here, or you can place an "Express" order at the Kiosk. We tried both ways of ordering. Ordered at the counter first and then after finished my Cherry Matcha Tonic decided I wanted to try the Sea Salt Gelato so then tried ordering that from the Kiosk. Most of the parking in this area is paid but I lucked out and got a free spot right around the corner from this place!

I could tell even from outside that it's a popular work and study type of coffee shop with your free wifi and outlets. I hope this post doesn't give it away and make it way too crowded for me to find a seat next time. There's a steady flow of people visiting the stores while I was there on a weekday between late afternoon and early evening but there's always extra seat for anyone new looking for a desk to work or chat with friends. A few could be better are the pricing and temperature. They offer free oat milk substitute and -$0.35 for bringing your own cup but no more employee discount. And it was so cold in there, I could see a lot of people kept their winter jackets on, I don't think it's a heating issue but the constant windy seems to suggest the AC is on rather than the heater, oh wells Im out of there now. For that reason, unless I'm bundled up, it'll be a hard sale to be back again! I got a hojicha latte and it as pretty good, perfect sweetness and temperature for my cold with no ice. The barista was super great to work with.

Parking can be a bit tricky -- if you're lucky, you might find street parking right out front. With limited space inside, expect a line outside if there are more than a few people ahead of you. We ordered the Earl Grey Matcha, Earl Grey Flat White, and a Pastéis de Nata. The drinks took about five minutes to prepare, and the staff worked efficiently. Their menu seems to rotate seasonally, so you might find limited-time or specialty flavors depending on when you visit. As for the drinks, they were just okay in my opinion. The flat white was quite strong, and while it included Earl Grey syrup, the flavor didn't come through as clearly as expected. The Pastéis de Nata was decent -- not too sweet, but a bit dense. Overall, prices are reasonable for what you get. Worth a visit if you're curious about their seasonal offerings.

My sister talked up their frozen matcha here and it delivered! I got the frozen matcha that they are known for and I added a little of the passion fruit syrup which is actual fruit. This was excellent. They also do the traditional strawberry as well. They also had the best cardamom bun I've ever had. Truly a must visit if you live here or you're visiting. The way they do the frozen matcha is amazing. Truly epic.

Insane Venezuelan Dulce de Leche Lattes…read more Starbucks Caramel Lattes can go take a walk. * * * Chocolate donuts with strawberry icing with massive huge strawberry taste in the icing. The only good frosted donut I have ever eaten with complete wonderment. (Actually, I have not had that many good donuts in over 72 years of donut eating. I am not sure how cops on break tolerate the average American or Canadian donut. But thank god, they eat them so I don't have to.) But I would eat donuts all day and all night at 49th Parallel. Brownie points for convenience. My husband ordered a double espresso and in true men's fashion claimed it to be "solid". I ordered the maple sea salt shaken espresso and it was *chefs kiss*. If you are a sweet and salty lover, get it! It won't disappoint you. We also ordered the Doug sandwich and the Avo sandwich. Don't let the looks fool you as the sandwiches' appearances fall kind of short. However, both sandwiches were delicious. Starbucks could never. ‍ The Doug Sandwich - a full bodied sandwich consisting of scrambled eggs, bacon, cheddar cheese, caramelized onions and tarragon aioli. I thought this sandwich would be too heavy, but the brioche bun is light and the scrambled eggs are really fluffy. The Avo Sandwich - a lighter sandwich featuring fried egg, avocado, cheddar cheese, sun dried tomato pesto, tarragon aioli and mixed greens. Also a good choice! The cafe was clean and they have a water dispenser available for customers. Service was ok, but I think they were just a bit busy.
