Prado has got to be one of my favourite cafes in the vancouver area, i don't think i've ever had a bad coffee from them. some friends and i decided to meet at this location near surrey central. It was my reco and they both loved it. I got a vanilla latte (a huge one), for here. They ordered but got there's in a togo cup (i hope they weren't charged). We had some great conversations over delicious lattes and flat whites. It was quiet and very clean! They used to not have much seating, but now there's plenty. my only thing is that it could feel a bit "warmer" in here. The staff were okay friendliness wise.

    Ambiance was incroyable!

Delicious Coffee & very good pastries that were clearly fresh. I'll be returning tomorrow & the fact that its in our hotel is such a bonus. Owner walked by & was polite and said hi. I went with the drip coffee which was nice and fresh and than I partnered that with an Apple Fritter and wow where do I start? The best Apple Fritter ive ever had, it had the perfect notes of cinnamon, apple & nutmeg. The young gentlemen who was our barista was very outgoing and polite & had excellent customer service skills. A Win!

I came across this place while I was staying at the hotel in Surrey. I first got to try this place back in 2021 and I loved how convenient it was since it was located right downstairs to the hotel. They had some food options, the bakery items were pretty delicious I always grabbed something with my coffee in the morning. The coffee and tea were good. I did try their Matcha Latte which could have been better. The service was great the times I have gone. The cashier and the other lady making the drink were friendly and welcoming. There is enough sitting around the little café to sit and enjoy your food or if you need work the environment is pretty quiet. Overall, was a great experience!

This location of Prado Café is located inside the Civic Hotel in Downtown Surrey. To ring in the new year on January 1, 2022, I decided to spend some time sitting and sipping a coffee at a fancier coffee establishment, so I decided to journey out to Prado. It is an L-Shaped establishment tucked away at one end of the Civic Hotel lobby. There was a long counter displaying lots of baked goods, but I had to restrain myself as I had a lunch date later, so I am once again ill-equipped to assess the quality of the beverage I consumed. (Honestly, as long as there is coffee and caffeine in said coffee, I'm happy). After much humming and hawing, I resorted to my usual dark roast drip coffee. As I sat nursing my coffee, I noticed there weren't many sitting patrons (only about 3 tables) but a fair number of hotel guests ordered coffee and snacks to go. I loved the bright and airy lobby with cool wooden panel décor and I got to people watch. It was nice to see the Prado staff and hotel staff all wishing each other a Happy New Year. Overall it is a friendly and quiet establishment where you can enjoy a cup of hot coffee and delicious snack. The place tries to be as green as possible with garbage, recycling and composting bins. (I'm pretty sure there would have been washable cups and plates had it not been pandemic times.) The prices are understandably a little higher than your chain coffee shop, but not a bad place if you want a quiet and boutique place to catch up with friends.

Hallelujah!!! Finally a Chia Tea Latte made with an actual chia tea bag and not the sugary chia syrup concoction. Lol . The little things in life matter! I come to this location frequently. I usually get a earl grey tea (my favourite drink). They are always on point and are friendly, which is hard to find. Thank you for doing a great job. Much appreciated

I've heard very good things about Prado's Vancouver location so I decided to give this a try. The cafe is a small shop located in the lobby of the Civic Hotel in Surrey and it is right next to Surrey City Hall, Surrey Central Skytrain Station, Surrey Library, and Central City Mall. The chic little shop serves wonderful lattes (Soy Latte is my favourite) and breakfast/lunch items with lots of tables to enjoy them.

It's a pretty neat and small cafe inside the Civic Plaza lobby. We tried their pretty pastel pink beetroot latte~ the taste was pretty new to me, they use beetroot extract to make pink colour. The Citrus Olive Oil Cake was alright, it got a bit too flakey as we were eating it towards the end, but the scent of the citrus was really nice overall. It's a nice place that has a variety of light meals and pastries, and located at a convenient location right across from Surrey Central Station too. Pink Latte $5.50 Citrus Olive Oil Cake

Slim Pickings. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but if you ever find yourself in want of a decent coffee in and around Surrey Central, the world is not your oyster my friend. Sometimes you are in bad need of an Americano rush and a Tim Hortons Double Double or Starbucks burnt tar is just not going to cut it. But at least now there is a Prado Cafe at Civic Plaza in what is being touted as Surrey's new downtown business community right off the Surrey Central Skytrain and there you can get your Americano fix. If it's past 2 pm though, don't try to order eggs or half of their pastry list because at this time, all of that is cancelled. My weekends are for Avo Toast because Basic is my middle name and sometimes I kick things up a notch if Smoked Salmon is on the menu. I must have been feeling spicy this past Saturday afternoon because we went with the West Coast Toast of Smoked Salmon and Cream Cheese on Toast ($11.50) and I feel slight regret for a coupla reasons. 1.) West Coast Toast in sore need of poached egg. I should have listened to my gut and vetoed the toast idea full stop because what is the point of a toast if you are not toasting to a runny yolk? 2.) Sourdough slices were unimaginative and lacklustre. To be more specific, these were very thin and were reminiscent to eating air, but a little bit better than that. 3.) $11.50 for a 4 measly-ish pieces of smoked salmon on thin toast is not money well spent. Alright, listen - in the end, this was not terrible. Would I buy again? No, because I did not work so hard to make money to spend on small salmon on thin toast but the dill was a nice touch. I do not recommend this as a place to sit, linger and enjoy your cup of coffee because the space is not conducive to that sort of leisurely lifestyle but a coffee and a breakfast cookie on your mad dash to work in the morning is okay. To Surrey Central and all the coffee shops of the world - this is a cry for help. Please populate the area with more delicious Americano and Avo Toast options so that I may have plenteous pickings.

I am surprised no one has reviewed this location. Conveniently, this cafe is located by one of KPU satellite campuses and a skytrain stop. Parking in the area is very limited unless you pay for parking. However, on a weekend, the parking situation was not that bad. They use 49th parallel beans. My flat white was made well. The lemon square could be better. I appreciate the cafe serving drinks and baked goods in non take out containers. They use biodegradable cutlery. Overall, it is great that they are trying to be environmentally friendly.

Nice to have a higher end coffee shop in Central Surrey! Been here several times and will be back! Good coffee, good mochas and tasty snacks! Mix of hard seats, stools and a couple couches. Free wi-fi.

This is now my go-to coffee shop around my area. I've been here a couple times and every time I've gone, I've tried some different from their delicious variety of food and drinks. Prado always has clean bathrooms and a cosy cafe to sit in. They have an amazing group of staff who go out of their way to make your coffee taste great and look aesthetically pleasing, especially with their coo latte art! Nothing is too pricey but even if it is, it's all worth it. I definitely recommend coming to Prado Cafe to study or to sit with some friends with a nice cup of coffee!

During my last trip to Surrey, I made sure to stop by and fill up on caffeine and pastries. This location looks like an Apple Store from the outside with a modern glass exterior and minimalistic interior. From what my friends have told me, this location is much larger than their Downtown Vancouver location. Upon entering, the first thing I saw was Nemesis' vibrant colored boxes nicely lined up on a table next to the window for purchase in addition to merch (shirts, mugs, etc.) featuring their simplistic upside down blue heart logo. They switch out the coffee varieties on a regular basis, and so make sure to check their site first if you are looking for a certain bean! After perusing the merch, I made my way to the line and was captivated by the fancy high-end pastries in the glass counter. The company that makes the pastries is called Dope and they had everything from cookies to croissants to cakes and crullers. Prices were reasonable and I paid under $20 USD for four pastries. They had unique flavors including: strawberry & pistachio danish, tiramisu croissant, churro cruller, iced cap cruller, apple hojicha fritter, ube donut, and more. Like the Nemesis packaging, the Dope pastry boxes were art pieces on their own and probably the prettiest to-go boxes I've ever seen; they are a bright vibrant blue with their signature smile and tongue character logo and metallic writing. They literally look like designer shoe boxes. Nemesis features two seasonal drinks at a time, but they don't offer any flavored drinks otherwise and so if you're looking for a basic vanilla latte, this is not the place. The two seasonal drinks they were featuring in February were the Beet Root Latte and the Black Sesame Corn Latte (no coffee in this one though). Personally, neither quite appealed to me and so I just ordered a basic OAT MILK LATTE sweetened with simple syrup (you could alternatively get it sweetened with honey). The espresso was smooth and the oat milk was nice and creamy. To share with my family, I also ordered the... - APPLE HOJICHA FRITTER ($4.75 CAN) - as someone who doesn't normally like donuts, this fritter was the best fritter I've ever had and definitely on the not-to-sweet side. It was crunchy on the outside, chewy on the inside, and full of apple pieces, apple spiced compote, and cinnamon. The hojicha dusting was subtle but added a nice slight earthiness to the pastry. I liked this pastry so much, I ended up ordering another one later on! - The ICED CAP CRULLER ($4.75 CAN) - this cruller was also fantastic and full of espresso flavor. The espresso cream filling and the condensed milk glaze were delicious and tasted like I was eating a Vietnamese coffee. 10/10 would get this again! - BROWN BUTTER BANANA CAKE ($5.75 CAN) - this cake was super moist and had a beautiful piping of cinnamon espresso buttercream on top. I'd say this one was the least unique of the pastries I ordered, but was a solid slice of banana bread and the buttercream was smooth and light. - CHOCOLATE ORANGE SUISSE ($7.50 CAN) - this pastry was the most interesting texture-wise as it has a crispy exterior that reminded me of chowmein noodles, wrapped around a croissant. The candied orange was very distinct and could be tasted in both the chocolate orange filling and the outside. While the most expensive of the pastries (probably because of the extra labor it takes for this one), I thoroughly enjoyed every bite and would order this one again too. The seating areas and bathrooms are clean. Service is excellent- we got our orders within 10 minutes after ordering and they come by to give you water and silverware as needed. TLDR, Nemesis is 1000% worth the stop and I can't wait to be back whenever I am in Surrey next. Overall, 5/5 for coffee and pastries, 5/5 for service, 5/5 for atmosphere

There were quite a few empty tables and the place felt pretty relaxed. I was doing a bit of work and ended up staying a little longer than the 90-minute table limit. One of the staff members came up to us and said, "Hey, you guys have been here longer than 90 minutes. You'll have to leave soon." I told him that was fine and asked if I could just finish my coffee. He said okay, but then about a minute later he came back with a to-go cup and said, "Here you go, you guys can leave now." Honestly, that caught me off guard. Especially since it wasn't busy and there were still plenty of open tables. During my first visit, Jimmy went above and beyond to make sure everything was great, and I don't think he would have handled it that way. The coffee is still great and I really like the space, but this experience definitely made me think twice about coming back.

The restaurant is beautiful with both Indian and Japanese design sensibilities. They have a table service restaurant with both high tea and an extensive a la carte menu, and it looks like you can also buy mithai in bulk. The food isn't really Japanese-Indian fusion as you might expect, but more like Japanese impression of Indian food, if that makes sense? There's a few hints of Japanese and Asian influence, but the menu is mostly modern Indian. All vegetarian. There's no vegan or gluten free options for afternoon tea, but the a la carte menu includes many clearly labeled vegan and GF dishes. I wanted to try the afternoon tea set to get a wide sampling of their offerings. The set included: corn spinach puff, paneer tikka slider, cream cheese cucumber sandwich, samosa, chutneys for dipping, manchurian skewers, orange cranberry scone with whipped cream, rose rasmalai cake, dodha crunch, motichoor cheesecake parfait, and the choice between masala chai, coffee, or hot/iced caffe latte. It's $32/person for the set, which is a great price. I also appreciated that it was possible to order the set for just one person since it seems like many teahouses will only do it for 2+ people. I thought all of the items in the set were pretty good, and there was a balance between the sweet and savoury items. The only things that really left anything to be desired were that the scone was a bit dry and crumbly, and I thought the tandoori paneer could have been more flavourful. In general the flavours of the savoury items were a bit more subtle than in typical authentic Indian food, but for the most part it didn't come across as bland to me, just a different take on it. The standouts in the set were: the paneer slider - even if the paneer itself didn't impress, I loved the almost flaky texture of the pav - the manchurian, and the rose rasmalai cake. Also, the cream cheese cucumber sandwich had cilantro or chutney or something in the cream cheese which made it much more interesting than the plain version of this sandwich. The masala chai (my chosen drink) was also very good. It was served in a pot that contained 2 small servings. My waiter was very friendly and stopped by a few times to check in. When I was done eating and wanted my bill, it was easy to get his attention. I visited at what seemed like a quiet time so I didn't have much competition for attention. One thing that I thought was odd was when he gave me the machine to pay, there was no tip option - it would be cool if they had a no-tip policy, but I never saw any mention of it, so I wonder if he accidentally bypassed the tip when putting in my charge. It was an interesting and very pleasant experience. I was so curious about this place that I made a trip out from Vancouver just to try it (and couldn't get anyone willing to go to Surrey for afternoon tea with me, hence the afternoon tea order for one), and it was worth the trip!
