I just adore the atmosphere & customer service here. It's a truly community coffee shop & people working here go the extra mile (thanks again Gary - you saved me with a much needed Ginger Rogers least week!). Truly, you know the food, coffee & tea is good when there's times that the line up nearly goes to the door & no seats are available inside or out. Certain times of the year they have special drinks featured but the staff is so wonderful that if there's something you liked from a past season, if they still have the ingredients, they'll make it. Lately, Ginger Rogers is my treat to boost my day. Honestly, I've tried so many food options & haven't had a meh reaction to any. There's wraps & paninis plus desserts & cookies & take home items ranging from pancake & cookie mixes, jams & syrups to frozen meals. I think it's decently priced for being in this part of the world & like I mentioned, it's always a decent meal or snack. For accessibility, all the tables are moveable. So you could adjust away from the benches & chairs to allow a walker or wheel chair. But as this cafe is smaller, for those with baby strollers, I would recommend leaving them outdoors & bringing in the essentials with your baby/kids. The door isn't automatic but the handles & space around would allow for most to access the doors (providing that the local puppers aren't tied right next to the door & baby strollers are parked far enough back). Parking has one handicap but I would actually recommend parking closer to the vet clinic side, as that would be easier for drop off & pick up for those with mobility aids. There's also a generous patio area for people to sit with umbrellas. So it is very common to see many people sitting with their dogs outside enjoying the weather & a coffee. Bathrooms (there's 2) are accessed by keys provided by staff. It's been a long time since I needed to use them but they were in decent condition considering the range of people that could use them in the day. Might be a bit tricky to maneuver a wheelchair that way but walker & cane users could navigate past the extra door, random pop-up displays & extra table in the business lobby side. This cafe also allows laptop usage throughout the week but laptop free on weekends. After what I seen today (& it has increased in amount of people from other days I've seen), I'm very glad that's the case. Some people legit bring their whole office, including their screen raisers, extra tech options to headphones and such... I personally think if you need to take up a 4 seat space for your "online needs" & you give off the energy that it's serious work, perhaps the library down the road (which allows room bookings so you could do webinars or group work) or look to rent a temp office space might be better for work. But that's just my two cents as a disabled person who notices this happening more often in a lot more cafes lately. I hope these extra tech office travellers at least buy more than a coffee as all the food is really great here & this cafe deserves to be well supported by all. Definitely give it a try if you're in the PoMo area. Especially if you're already planning on walking into the inlet area to Rocket Point park & pier. read more

I ordered a cold brew coffee and held it up to the light--it looked more like Earl Grey tea and had absolutely no flavor (absolute joke). When I asked if it was actually a cold brew, I was met with attitude and defensiveness. I was a barista for years, so from my perspective, that level of service was unacceptable. If it were me behind the bar, I would have said something like, "You know what, that doesn't look right. Can I add a shot of espresso or get you something else instead?" This is my all time favourite coffee shop and my go to spot for writing report cards! It always has a pleasant buzz, an abundance of comfortable seating and of course great coffee and food. In all honesty, I have had better coffee, however the food is to die for. I always get the southwest breakfast wrap (served with salsa and sour cream), or the chicken brie cranberry panini. Lately I also tried the breakfast slider which was a poached egg, some sort of tomato jam and crispy bacon cubes - it was to DIE for, so flavourful. The coffee is very strong and sometimes tastes a little burnt, however as mentioned I always return to support not only a local coffee shop, but also an overall positive atmosphere. When I have work to do, coffee shops like starbucks or JJbean just feel too busy and loud, and it is hard to get work done. I never feel rushed at Caffe Divano, and almost everyone dines in. Highly recommend for a light lunch spot! (FYI - my ONLY complaint is I wish the hours were open later)!! read more

This place is hard to find because it's tucked away in a residential area, but it's worth searching out. I had the blueberry tea and it was steeped in this lovely tea pot. I loved the taste and enjoyed the fact that I could keep refilling my cup with hot tea the whole time I was there! I'm gluten intolerant and it was wonderful to see the selection of treats that were gluten free! All in all I would definitely go back! read more

Cafe Divano is now one of my favorite coffee shops in the tricities. Their service is ok but their goodies are delicious!!!. I love their coffees, teas and handcrafted drinks!. This fall I tried their Nutty Mocha with almond milk and it was great!. I like their muffins, scones and biscotties. They also have gruten free products and you can replace your milk for a few cents more. They have great atmosphere, the store is at a pretty quiet location in Port Moody and I think that is why I like it so much. (Their store on Hastings can get pretty hectic sometimes). I give Divano 4 stars for consistency and good products. As I said, the service is pretty average and they don't clean up their tables often (sometimes you gotta clean up your own before sitting in). read more

I love how it's tucked away in Khalanie. The ever changing menu keeps me interested. I have a savoury tooth so I like having an option of soup, Quiche and sandwiches sometimes. For sweet items I would recommend their coffee cakes and orange cranberry scones. Great atmosphere and probably my favourite Port Moody coffee shop. read more

I'll admit I don't drink coffee, but I do frequent cafes for a good tea and pastry. This little cafe is underwhelming in multiple ways. First of all, the staff. I wish I could say they're just curt, but they seem to really hate their jobs. Cold and rude are more appropriate descriptions. I ordered an iced chai tea latte and not only did it take 10 min to make, it was disgusting. Let me preface this by saying it was a Sunday early afternoon, the cafe was not busy by any standard. The barista seemed distracted and the cashier girl just hates life. I brought my chai back saying it's chunky and I'd like something else. The cashier basically told me this is the way chai's are made. If that's the case, they should rethink their chai recipes. I dont know about others but I'd rather not sip chunks of chai with each gulp. I ordered an iced tea and what I got was something that tasted like lemonade... by this point, I had already been there for 15 min with 2 bad drinks. With that said..1 star for their location (5 min from my place) and 1 star for their lemon raspberry tea cake. Unfortunately my husband likes this place so I'll just be exchanging scowl for scowl the next time we visit. read more

I really wanted this to be my joint when we lived in Klahanie village for 3 years because we could walk there, sit on the patio with the pup and generally catch a nice Sat morning vibe. We went there a few times and just didn't like the experience so we stopped going. 1) the coffee was hella expensive. $15 for 2 16oz lattes is just a bit much. With breakie sandwiches and coffee it's easy to spend $30 on breakfast - heck, I'd rather go over to Omega cafe and get a real plate of breakfast for that price. 2) the service is really snooty. I just don't feel I'm good enough to be in their presence - which often is too long because they have their back to you while they send a text. 3) they used to have music and be open late. Sad that isn't happening anymore. On the good side is the coffee is tasty and the room is cosy. I used to like the blonde brownie. read more

Well - After tonight's Chicken & Goat Cheese wrap - I want to take back ALL my stars...First it was microwaved (NEVER GOOD), then grilled. When the counter person told me, it wont look the best but will taste great I wasn't bothered, because I've had the wrap before, but when I got back to work and opened it up I almost threw up! Tomato juices flowing out - squished beyond belief, and burning hot due to the microwave. Caffe Divano is a blink and you'll miss it local cafe in Port Moody (they also have locations in Coquitlam and Burnaby). It is a great family run coffee shop with some of the best baked goods in the tri-cities. They also serve fantastic coffee, including super creative specialty drinks, and offer a wide selection of loose leaf teas (my favourite is their jasmine green tea). Located in the Klahanie housing development of Port Moody, it is my 'go-to' place for baked treats. My favourite items are their chocolate zucchini oat muffin and their chocolate chip banana bread (though that got discontinued recently). All the food is made in-house with real ingredients and from scratch in their kitchen. Nothing is mass produced, frozen and thawed here (I am looking at you, large coffee chain, that spells my name wrong every time I order a coffee). Every morning when I walk in, the owner is there serving up a mean cup of Americano and always friendly with conversation. The muffins and scones are often still warm from the oven and it is hard to resist a scone, muffin or delicious breakfast panini. Let's just say I avoided Caffe Divano like a plague when I was in wedding weight loss mode last year! The owners have a passion for what they do and love to tell you about their food and business. You learn a lot from them and really get a sense that they care about the quality of their food and providing more healthy options (when possible) to their customers. They do a lot of small things to make a difference. For example, they use real essential oils for their peppermint mocha lattes, not syrup. Which means you are getting the minty flavour without the yucky sweetness/chemical crap storm in most syrups. Their eggnog holiday drinks are also made with farm fresh eggnog...which is way better than the eggnog most chains use. I know, I know, you are asking me. "But you just wrote about how you ran a marathon, how can you be telling me about all these baked goods?" Fear not friends, they have vegan friendly, paleo friendly and even wheat free treats. And their treats are never boring, they change constantly with the seasons. Besides, I have always said, if you're going to cheat on your diet, it better f&*ing worth it, and the stuff at Divano is SOOOO worth it. In addition to coffee and baked goods, they also have some great healthy salads, soups, sandwich and breakfast options. I am honestly never disappointed with the food here, be it baked goods or the savoury variety. Oh and one more thing, they support local artists! They have a wide variety of artwork hanging in the cafe you can purchase. I love it; a small local business helping local artists! read more

Was looking forward to coming her for some rainy day hot chocolates... super disappointed! Every table was dirty and there were cups and plates everywhere. Customers were cleaning tables themselves to find a place to sit. The service, while not completely rude, was cold and left much to be desired. We waited 15 minutes for our hot chocolates. They gave us a little table sign, so we assumed they would bring our drinks (just like we saw them do for several other tables). My boyfriend went to the bar to ask what was taking so long. Finally got the drinks and carried them back to the table. Hot chocolate itself tastes like nothing. Super disappointing on every level. The decor here is warm and inviting and I love their outdoor seating in the summer. It is a little on the pricey side, which I am ok with (since it is a small business and all the food is freshly made). The food is pretty good and I do like that it is freshly made in house. I also like their wide loose leaf tea selection and hot drinks. The jasmine green is pretty amazing, I can always get two steeps/cups out of the leaves. However, every once in a while iced drinks can be off. I wish they were a bit more consistent. Somedays I order their starwberry lemonade and it's awesome, some days it's so, so tart it is undrinkable. Same thing with the stafff..sometimes they are awesome and sometimes they are really slow. Especially in the mornings on the weekdays. When I am running in on the way to work and they only have one or two people in line, they really need to be faster and be more 'on it'. read more

The specialty coffees here are excellent. Unmatched in the area. They use 49th Parallel Coffee and also sell it by the pound (love that the packaging has the date roasted on it). The staff are friendly and fast. They have a variety of seating from a long window bench to sink-in comfy chairs and couches to straight-back chairs, and in the summer some tables outside, something to suit everyone--even free treats for your pet. Laptop users are welcome, there are lots of power outlets along the walls and free wifi. Great atmosphere too, and the walls often feature works by local artists and/or photographers. read more

Love their coffee - I usually get their lattes. If you like your coffee a bit sweeter go for the unique Spanish latte which is made with condensed milk. In the past I've also bought their whole beans which are sourced from 49th parallel. A bit pricey but definitely quality beans. My only gripe is that their food and desserts are on the pricier side - Most of the sandwiches are about $8-9. They're pretty fresh and tasty and are heated for you on the panini press when you order (on the other hand it takes them about 5 minutes, not so great if you are in a rush). read more

I love this cafe so much I'm visiting twice today. With great drinks (I love the Buccaneer fog), free wi-fi and comfy seats, Caffe Divano is a great place to work or hang out with friends. I often have meetings here and then stay on to do some work. The staff are friendly and helpful and NEVER rush you out the door. 99% of my experiences have ended in disappointment. Front-end girls are snotty and rude. Only reason I go is because my husband likes the baked goods. Today was the worst! Girl making the coffee drink mumbled my drink when it was ready. I was standing there and she did not bother to make eye contact - she kept her head down the whole time. Interesting to see how happy she was when talking to the cashier!?! I agree with other reviewer - girls do not care about their jobs. They do not care about the customers at all.
