We decided to go check out Goldie's, which seems to be popping up with more and more locations. Aesthetics wise, it's a bright large open space with lots of seating options for one to many. With light wooden tones, it's a light and airy joint. My friend got a hot chai latte and a gluten free pistachio donut and I got a raspberry vanilla donut with a cold strawberry matcha latte, light on the milk. I really appreciated how they accommodated my friend's alternative milk request and offered to add more matcha and strawberry while going light on the latte milk - great customer service! The raspberry vanilla donut was soft, airy and light in the dough and the filling wasn't overly sweet and had a great raspberry filling with real vanilla bean custard on top - delicious! It reminds me of Mello donuts. For two drinks and two donuts it came out to $24 including tax plus tips, which is a decent price point. Delicious light donuts, which is dangerous. Enter Goldie's Donuts & Bakery, with a new location in Metro Vancouver on Fraser St near King Edward Ave. There are other locations around Metro Vancouver & soon there'll be 4 Goldie's in total. This donut shop is spacious & comfortable - a great place to chill out at. It was quite busy when I went in & so the servers seemed a bit stretched. It was my first go at trying Goldie's donuts - but to be honest I found them to be - just ok. I'm going to need to go back & try some more. In comparison - Mello & Lucky's donut shops are definitely top notch in town. If you haven't tried the donuts at those spots, what are you waiting for!? The maple sea salt lattes looked beautiful and my doughnut was delicious as usual (big fan of the french crueller). Unfortunately, our maple sea salt lattes were very very strong and had no maple or sea salt flavoring in my opinion. I decided to ask the girl at the register if we could please get a different drink because it was super strong and didn't taste good. I was met with SO much attitude, i was actually shocked. I went into it very friendly and politely asked for an alternate drink as i did spend $12 on these two drinks (and life gets expensive!!). She then goes "well, you probably don't like the taste of coffee then".... I actually didn't know how to respond. But i did say "I'm a huge 49th fan and love coffee!". When the customer comes up politely, you offer to make it right. I hope the next person that comes up not satisfied with their drink is treated a lot better than how I was.

I even replied back and nothing. We own and run several business in lower mainland and in United States and this customer service from Unni Pastries is trash. At least you can do is reply back and apologize? For wasting time when I specifically told you it's for family and friends flying into town for a funeral burial. Will never use their business again. I highly suggest Mello. They replied and helped me out last minute. Shame on you! Learn how to run a business and treat customers esp previous customers who were supporting the business and fellow Krn but it's clear the new owner doesn't care about the customer or quality it's all about quantity. Maybe my 39 donuts which I offered to pay extra for time and packaging wasn't large enough but money is money. Especially during this time and economy. I ordered a pistachio raspberry crème donut, and while it was tasty it gave almost cheesy notes and the pistachio flavor was overpowered by the raspberry. The service was friendly and helpful, so I'd absolutely stop in again and try something new. The only neutral was that while they have a restroom, it's cramped and I bumped my head on the towel dispenser, so it could probably be moved for safety. All that being said, thanks for the hot tea and warm space Goldie's, much appreciated!
