Visited Dopio Zero on a Saturday evening and the place was packed, so without a reservation I ended up at the bar with the other 10 minorities. Prices sit at the edge of discomfort for what you get - this isn't a value spot. I tried the calzone and the carbonara; the calzone arrived slightly burnt on the outside and very wet inside, likely from raw vegetables, and it didn't compare to versions I've had in Italy or New York. The carbonara was just okay and both dishes were only lukewarm rather than pipping hot. Service at the bar felt distracted, with the bartender drifting off mid-conversation, and the pizza maker was wearing a very worn T‑shirt styled like a chef coat, which added to a generally casual, neighborhood feel. Overall, it was a hearty enough meal for the area, but with these prices and execution, it's a 3‑star experience. read more

I've been here a handful of times now. I absolutely love it here. The food is DELICIOUS. Plus the helping of the dishes are quite generous even though it's pricy so it is very filling. It is a small restaurant so it can quite intimate with whoever you're there with. But it's a clean and very beautifully decorated restaurant. A cute small patio as well for the summer time. Italian food is one of my favourite cuisines. However, I am dairy free and it's very rare to find an Italian restaurant specifically that'll provide dairy free and/or vegan options. Lucky for me, this restaurant had the option of providing dairy free cheese on any of their pizzas (at an additional cost). Plus I saw that they had one vegan option on their menu which was great so I could still enjoy the food. While they have vast menu, they didn't have alot of options with just beef on its own and we didn't see any chicken options. Lots of pork options and beef/pork combinations; but they did have some vegetarian and fish options as well. I would recommend making a reservation though because they can get very busy since it is a small restaurant. I've been here on Friday/saturday/sunday evenings and luckily we made a reservation each time because it was full. Unfortunately the parking isn't a very big lot either so do be mindful of that if you are driving in especially during the day time because they are sharing the parking space with 3 other businesses. I love the cozy environment of this quaint Italian restaurant. The servers were very friendly and helpful. The Caprese salad was one of the best I've ever had, real olives that don't taste like supermarket jarred stuff. The pizza was woodfired and freshly made, I'm getting one all to myself next time! I'm not usually a fan of tomato sauce, but the spaghetti with seafood was fantastic! Random pizza place in the middle of a random mini strip mall on Como Lake by a residential area. Seriously, there's nothing else here other than a gas station. Had no idea this place even existed until my friend told me of its existence. The name means "double zero" in Italian. Parking is plentiful in the strip mall lot. I heard it can get full though, in which case there is street parking nearby. The place is new and modern, like the rest of the building. Staff are very friendly and professional. Definitely a nice touch. Special mention. Buddy and I felt quite welcome throughout the entire dinner. As an appetizer, they provide small slices of foccacia bread with the usual fixings (lobster oil, chili flakes, olive oil, balsamic vinegar). That got gobbled up. As of the time of writing, they were part of a multi-restaurant pizza competition. Doppio's entry (not on their current menu) is a carbonara pizza. Pizzas here are neopolitan (thin crust) style. Not sure what was in it other than sliced ham and what I assume is mozzarella. The staff come by and grate dried egg yolk on top as well. It was pretty decent. I also tried their contest winning boschetti pizza from last year (2023), which is now proudly included in their menu. Italian sausage (prosciutto?) slices, tomatoes, and other cheese goodies. Best to just read the menu. Both pizzas were a bit on the salty side, but that may just be because of all the cured meats. The bigger issue was that the pizzas were a bit wet/mushy in the middle - the cooking time needs to be slightly increased. Buddy and I had trouble moving the slices onto our plates without destroying the slices. Lastly, we also tried the (mushroom) ravioli tartufati (Italian for truffles). This was a recommendation from our server, and it hit the spot. Normally I'm leery of vegan dishes, but this was surprisingly good. Only complaint is that the dish is definitely on the saltier side, so I got super thirsty while eating this thing. Oh yeah, the mushroom sauce probably consists of 50% butter. Try not to think about your arteries clogging. The sauce does make a really good spread for the appetizer bread I must say. Overall I am quite impressed at the level of service and quality of food, other than the excessive saltiness. Personally I would place the pizzas a touch below the quality of Via Tevere and Marcello (both in Vancouver). In other words, can't really go wrong with this place if one is in the area, but there are other (better) options around town. With that said, I would eat here again. read more

We came here on Saturday for an early dinner around 4 pm. Found out they have a 90 mins time limit from 5 pm on weekends. We were told they would need the table by 6 pm. Service was hit and miss. Great in the beginning when it was not very busy and they took the time to inform us of the specials. Had to flag down server after dishes were served. They did not notice if the water glass requires topping up or if we need anything else. I had the pizza with wine poached pear, prosciutto and Gorgonzola. It was really good and it was big. I had to pack the leftover to go. The crust itself was a bit salty though it went well with my topping. I would think it could be salt overkill if the toppings were all salty type. Pro tip: I added hot honey to it at home after reheating it in the toaster oven. Delicious! My friend misread the description of the seafood pasta. Unfortunately she was limiting her tomato intake due to health reason and the pasta was in a light tomato sauce. She thought it was white wine based as that was in the description. I tried a bit of her pasta. It was cooked perfectly. Al dente spaghetti and the calamari was tender, not rubbery. It was not overly saucy which was nice. Excited to try out this Italian restaurant in Coquitlam. Staff were ok but required credit card when making reservations. Restaurant was clean and ambiance was nice. Caesar salad was amazing but pricey at $20. Bread was fresh. This is where the warning begins. The pastas and pizza were overly salty like someone dumped a bunch of salt in the dishes. It made it very difficult to eat. Pizza was cooked on the outside but the middle was way too undercooked and doughy. Save your money. Service was subpar and the dishes taking a while and not once did they ask us how the food was. It wasn't even busy. You are better off not spending that amount of money, and going elsewhere where. read more

We had a coupon that gave us a free dessert with entree, the pistachio cheesecake was 10/10 one of the best desserts I've had. Regularly priced $14, tasted even better since it was included with the coupon I'm sure. We were in the area and decided to stop by this restaurant for lunch. We were seated right away with menus provided to us on the way to the table. We decided to order two pastas and one pizza to share. There was complimentary bread provided. Food arrived after a short wait. My ravioli was very good. Each ravioli was filled with mushroom and mascarpone. The creamy truffle sauce was rich and delicious. I took a bite of the tagliatelle and it was made well. The meat sauce was tasty. I tried a slice of the pizza and it was good. Crust was thin with a light layer of toppings. I think there could have been a couple more basil leaves. Service was good for the most part. I think the owner checked on us a couple times in addition to our server. I think the server was new to her job. She ended up entering $164 instead of $64 to the credit card machine. We caught that error while paying and it was corrected right away. Overall, I think this is a great Italian option in the area. Prices were reasonable for the quality of the food. Wow, this is some good pizza! I wanted to try their offering for the La Pizza Week 2022 promotion that was happening. I had passed by this place several times while getting doughnuts from Doughnut Love next door (also highly recommended!) and finally decided to try it out. Their pizza for La Pizza Week was the Bologna La Grassa and it contained ricotta cheese stuffed crust, pistachios pesto, Mortadella Bologna DOP, and fior di latte cheese. How I wish they would put this on this regular menu because it was so good! You could definitely taste how high quality the ingredients were and the flavors complimented each other so well. Plus, the ricotta cheese stuffed crust was to die for! The pizza had the perfect chew and leoparding. This place is legit and has such original flavors. I definitely want to try some of their other pizzas as they sound equally scrumptious. All in all, I highly recommend this place as it's one of the best pizzas I've had in Metro Vancouver. read more

I would rate this place a 3.5. The service was solid and the overall look of the place is very cozy and clean. I am comparing this place to other pizza places in Vancouver (which is a bit unfair since there are way more good options in Vancouver). We ordered the arancini to start-it was standard, no real issue. I was really excited to try their Dalla Terra pizza (the one with potato and crispy pancetta). The flavors were good, but the thin slices of potatoes were undercooked (had a crunch to it because it was still raw....). The pancetta wasn't crispy as described on the menu. A suggestion that I would offer to the restaurant would be to pre-slice the pizza because the knife that it came with made it awkward to use and I found it difficult to cut through the pizza. I enjoyed my pizza way more the next day where I could re-heat it (so the potato was finally soft, the way it should have been done). I would also suggest they change their chili oil. I've been to Pizzerias where they have good chili oil. When I asked for their chili oil, it looked and tasted like it was plain olive oil (the color wasn't that nice red tinged oil) with a piece of chili. It lacked real chili flavor. We ended off with the Graffe, which is a nice dessert to share. Deep fried donuts with powdered sugar and caramel, how can you go wrong? I think due to the limited option in the suburbs makes this a popular place for the locals in the area. When we left the place it was packed and people were waiting in the lobby area. Overall it was a pleasant experience. I wouldn't go out of my way to this place for pizza. I think ordering a take out pizza would be your best option. It's not on my top places to go back to unless my friends (who live in the area) want to. It's not high on my list of places to return to. read more

We had a great dinner and would go back again... Though I will not order the brushetta..it was pricey for bread and tomatoes at $12 for 3 pieces...hmmmm Our wine was reasonably priced and tasted crisp and refined. Good restaurants in the suburbs are unicorns. Either they do well and explode in popularity (like that one cucina in Port Moody) so that you can rarely eat there due to the lines or they skimp out on ingredients and churn out subpar food until they inevitably go under. Please don't do either, Doppio! We came on a Friday and it was fairly quiet with 3-4 other tables occupied, so service was quick. We tried an appetizer, a pizza and a pasta. The appetizer tasted great (mozzarella, tomatoes, basil) but the plating was very sloppy. It doesn't affect the taste of course (which was fantastic) so I'd still recommend it. The pizza and pasta were incredible. The oxtail pasta had this amazing earthy flavour from the mushrooms and truffle oil. The proscuitto and arugula pizza had the perfect tangy tomato sauce and was sooo delectable. The following week I took a chance and ordered takeout, knowing full well the pizza might get a bit soft in the center, as Neopolitan pizzas tend to do. IT WAS STILL AMAZING. I'm not even a pizza person but I literally crave this pizza all the time. Best of all, prices were so reasonable for the quality of food. Everything just...works. read more

We were excited to find a new (to us) Italian restaurant in the 'burbs. The menu had lots of choices with a wide variety of innovative pizza and pasta dishes. Service was good, although a bit inconsistent (in some places rushed, in others a bit delayed). Ambience as quite lovely with an authentic feeling decor. While the food was tasty, portion sizes didn't warrant the price. Our two teenage boys ordered pasta and despite sharing an appetizer amongst the table and giving them half of my pizza, they left hungry. I'm curious to see how long this restaurant will last as they're charging downtown Vancouver prices deep in the suburbs. read more

I love that Doppio Zero Pizza is located in the Tri-Cities even though it still takes me 20 mins to drive here from my house. But it is a good option if you feel like some thin-crust Neapolitian pizzas. The menu has a few more items than Spacca Napoli in Port Moody and they offer a decent sized parking lot out front. The restaurant itself is roomy with plenty of high top tables and booth seats along with a bar area. We started the evening off with a few appetizers. Bruschetta 12: tomatoes, olives, capers, basil, parmigiano reggiano. Nicely toasted with fresh flavours. Would definitely order again. Arancini Siciliani 12: crispy risotto, bolognese, mozzarella New on the menu are two pizzas - so new that it doesn't have a name yet! One comes with crispy Brussel Sprouts (something that I love making at home with my Actifry) Brussel Sprouts Pizza: fiore di latte, crispy Brussel Sprouts, pancetta, capers and chili flakes! Blue Cheese Pizza with walnuts: For those who are not normally blue cheese fans, I recommend you to try this since the "blue cheese" flavour is not too strong and you barely notice it. It's just there very subtley. Add Dairy-Free cheese to any pizza for an extra $3 Add Bufala mozzarella to any pizza for an extra $5 Tagliatelle al Funghi e Manzo 19: One of my favourite pastas from Doppio Zero. This rich tasting al dente Tagliatelle pasta features braised oxtail, mushrooms and truffle oil. Earthy but not overwhelming and would come back just for this dish! Gnocchi alla Crema di Gorgonzola 18: potato gnocchi, gorgonzola mornay sauce and pine nuts. Normally I'm not a gorgonzola fan. I find a lot of places going overboard but luckily like the Blue Cheese Pizza, this Gorgonzola gnocchi is very balanced and not overwhelming. Limoncello Key Lime Pie 8: Italian twist on this classic dessert. I liked the layer of torched meringue on top. It helps balance an otherwise sour tart dessert. Cannoli 8 : one pistacio and one chocolate with berries and chantilly cream. Doppio Zero Pizza offers a variety of Italian dishes that are reasonably priced in the Coquitlam area. Their pizzas are thin crusted and has a nice char while still being chewy! I recommend dining early or making reservations as it gets pretty busy at night! read more

I loved being able to see the whole kitchen as the food is being made. We ordered the carpaccio, bruschetta, pizza margarita & pasta carbonara. They were all delicious and perfect. The desserts are amazing we had the cannelloni and donuts and they were great. Overall a great place to go. read more

Went here tonight with my wife. We have really been enjoying the other Italian pizza places such as Scapa Napoli that have opened recently and thought this place would be a nice additive to the backdrop of the tri-cities food scenery! First the place was nice on the inside, the location is a bit odd and weirdly located beside a gas station and nothingness along Como lake but fine. Inside the decor is nice and inviting, makes you feel welcome and gives a good ambiance. We were greeted at the door by a friendly gentlemen and quickly shown to our seat. The service for the rest of the night was phenomenal! We had a kindly older gentlemen serving us who was kind and attentive to everything going on. It was just him and one other waitress that I could see and I never worried for a thing. Polite and and top of his game. I am usually the kind to be the stingiest of tippers but this service was so good that I just had to tip!!! This place gets three stars only for the service, the food itself was sub-par and lacking. We ordered the Quattro Fromagi which was a bit bland, and the Gorgonzola Gnocchi which tasted of warm creamy mashed potatoes! The food isn't the worst in the world, just nothing to crave again. When we got there, we didn't have a table but 2 makeshift seats at the bar. No big deal, we can wait for a table. They offered to call us when a table was available and told us it would roughly 30 minutes. 60 minutes later, no call. Nevertheless, the excellent severing staff sought to my needs and started cooking the pizza right away. Went out for a meal for the first time since COVID-19, Food was good and service people were friendly, but the waitress and staff were wearing masks on their chins and not covering their "droplets", even when in close proximity. Very pleased that we finally called on the local Napolitano pizzeria for dinner. Great crust and the toppings were of the highest quality. Wouldn't hesitate to go there or take out again. I went with two of my girlfriends for the happy hour from 4:30-6 ($13 pizzas and $4 wine!) though I knew my friends were going to be arriving a little past 6 to the restaurant, so I had come with their orders ready to place them in time for the happy hour. The waitress was incredibly kind and did not hesitate to allow me to order for my friends, and in fact she waited until they arrived to have their food made so it was still hot. As for the pizza, for $13 it was delicious. It was a bit burnt on the bottom, though the taste and texture of the crust was great!
