Vesuvio, another name for Vesuvius, Mount Vesuvius. Interesting name for a pizzeria. I will enquire next time I visit the meaning of it. Ladies and gentlemen, this is best pizza to day I had outside of Italy. As part of the extended birthday celebration, my anti-carb partner indulged me to choose. Of course pizza, but which one? Vesuvio is a relatively unknown hidden pizza joint among sea of pizza franchises like Panago, Pizza Hut, Dominos, Little Caesar's within the 2 km radius. The flow of foot traffic at Vesuvio is steady where other eateries in the strip mall are asleep in this covid ridden time. We had the #7 carne (prosciutto and pepperoni). Let me tell you, the thickness of the crust was perfect. It's edge was thin. The sauce and cheese were in perfect balance. After four slices, and half a pizza later, I was looking for more. Oh man this place is good! I finally cracked and got a third party delivery app because my desire to try this pizza was verging on completely consumption. The only disappointment was that I sat on my moral high ground instead of just giving into my wanton desire. So far I have eaten two of their pies; Pesto Chicken (self-explanatory ingredients) and the Little Italy (classic Pepperoni). The quality and freshness of the ingredients is visual, for example the Chicken was sliced thick, easy to tell it was from a single breast piece. When you put that sort of care on their over the top good thin crust, you have a perfect combination. The Little Italy was all flavour and not greasy, so satisfying. Next time I order, pretty sure I'm going to try something with less traditional ingredients, which normally is a crap shoot, but I have faith Vesuvio can pull it off....maybe their Bianca (Zucchini, Spinach, Corn, Sun Dried Tomato and Bleu Cheese) or Quatro (Ham, Shrimp, WTF Crab!, Mushroom). Price point is beyond affordable, third party delivery was fast and efficient. Vesuvio is literally a 12/10, now my go to pizza place, 100% recommend. read more

I currently live in the States in the state of Rhode Island and I work in Boston, Massachusetts where we arguably have some of the best pizza's in the country. Also, I lived for some time in Italy so Pizza is something I enjoy. Vesuvio's is ranked right up there with some of the best pizza's I've had in a very long time. Rare opportunity to relive our Rome pizza experience in Greater Vancouver is found right here in Port Coquitlam little pizza joint tucked inside the most unpretentious stripe mall. It all starts with the right pizza crust: thin, a little chewy but not too much, thin but sturdy, medium size (equivalent of large in most other joints), with proper cold cuts (prosciutto, pepperoni, salami etc), thin layer of cheese and sauce..... it's just the closet thing to the pizza in Rome we had. The boss lady was super courteous and the pizza chef was just dedicated in the kitchen meticulously laying toppings over the dough he so diligently prepare everyday 24hr in advance! Hubby and I had been to many expensive pizza places all over Gastown and Commercial Drive and we're not able to find authentic Italian pizza to this quality at this price point ($15 for 14" medium add $4 for large). We will be back to try other flavours. Save ourselves time and money traveling to a Vancouver. The real Italian pizza is right here in Port Coquitlam. read more

Ai what a pleasant surprise! Who knew there was such quality, affordable, street style pizza in this part of town! Draw a venn diagram of classic Italian thin and chewy crust, and delicious 2am pizza by the slice, and on the centre you'll find Vesuvio. The toppings are so good... lots of the, well seasoned, and combined with delicious cheeses. Punches of zesty flavours. There is a very unique seasoning... something that I can't pick out... in the meaty toppings, or the sauce, or something. Reminds me of middle eastern or balkan flavors. Aromatic, almost like anise or cinnamon without any overly sweet or liqoricey flavour overpowering the delicious pizza. It's an intriguing addition. We had the Mama Mia, Pesto, and Little Italy. All of them were hits with the family... even the Mama Mia with green peppers and mushrooms. It was the best "deluxe" style pizza I've ever had. This is a great locally owned shop. I've had their meatball sandwich several times. It is an amazing pickup lunch for $5. Everything about the sandwich is great - the meatballs and bread, of course. But the tomato sauce, peppers and especially the olives put it over the top. Recently, I ordered the lasagna with meat sauce. Amazing. They said it was homemade and it clearly is. Unlike all other pizza shop lasagnas I've had, it wasn't overfilled with bland sauce. It was a great balance of pasta, sauce & cheese. It's a ridiculous deal at $10.99. This is the kind of place great neighbourhoods are made of. I can't recommend it more. read more

They gave me diarrhea. For life. It was a week ago and it hasn't stopped. It went down smooth, but the repurcussions can still be felt. Pretty good but not worth it. Your butthole will erupt like mount Vesuvios. Nice people though. read more

Super disappointed and confused by the 5 stars on Yelp. Dry thin crust, limited toppings and cheese. Half the pizza ended up in the green waste. Reminded me bad food fair pizza. Looked nothing like the pics. Way better options in the Tri-City. read more

We have taken out 5 different pizzas on two occasions. They were all terrific. It's a father and son team and the dad makes everything fresh. No bulk dough and sends the son to buy fresh and quality ingredients. It's thin crust and great value. The kids from the high school across the street swarm their 2 pieces and a pop for $5 lunch. Haven't tried the spaghetti or sandwiches yet, but the posters in the store look great. Good location and parking. It's a hit. read more

Such an underrated spot! They're so friendly and the marinara they use for the pizzas and pastas are remarkable

My dad loves the lasagna here. We always call ahead, as they make their food fresh and it could take some time. I've also tried their meatball sub and some of their pizzas. All I can say is that the food and service is always good here. I highly recommend! read more
