The sauce has no taste and crust is very bland. Kind of pricey for what you get too. I wouldn't order again.

Italian Tomato Restaurant - Another shot of Marco Polo spaghetti! Yumm

I was visiting the city for work and got to see my close friend as well. She wanted to treat me to…read morea lovely dinner, so she found this restaurant on Google search. Our visit was on a Wednesday evening around 6 p.m. Due to the construction going on around the neighborhood, it was a little challenging to find this place, even though my friend had Google Maps to help her. I was surprised that there was a restaurant, as there was not any other places around. My friend was even more surprised that there was a restaurant so close to her neighborhood! It looked like a lovely home, there was a lot of brown and orange colours throughout. When we entered, we were greeted by a friendly young lady. She took us to a seating area by the window and brought us the menu and cold glasses of water. There were so many items on the menu, it took us some time to narrow down our picks. Thankfully, our friendly waiter helped us out by providing his recommendations. Finally, we ordered an Insalata di Cesare (Cesar salad, regular size) and a large dish of Marco Polo (linguine with diced chicken breast, baby shrimp, spicy Italian sausage, and mushrooms in a spicy tomato sauce with touch of cream). When our dishes came, we were pleasantly surprised by the amount of food! We had a great time eating like queens- the salad was fresh and crisp, plus the linguine had the right balance of sauce and ingredients. Then we requested the remainder to be packed, so that we could enjoy them at home. During our meal, our waiter came by a few times to check-in about the food and anything else that we needed. We loved this place so much that we came back two days later for another dinner. As expected, the service was warm, the food was fresh, and the vibe was homey- we loved it all! Check this place out, you will love it as much as we did!

When we walked into the restaurant, they were able to push tables together. We had varied meals and all was delicious! I cannot say enough for the Mamma Mia with tons of shrimp, scallops and clams. Look at the pictures of the pasta dishes, used my hand to show how large the portions were. If you are a local, make sure to come by, and if you are a visitor, don't miss this place. Enjoy the pictures and no drooling.

The Story Cafe was one the few places that are close to the airport, open early in the morning, and have a high rating. The Story Cafe does live up to the good ratings! The restaurant was spacious with lovely vintage-like decors. The food portion was generous. We had their Fly Me to The Bennies with Salmon, Crab Cake Bennies, Egg In Purgatory, and Duck Confit Hash. All dishes were delicious. I had an oat mocha and to my surprise, there's a really good latte art, which is uncommon in metro Vancouver for drinks with oat milk. The service was normally good, no complaints! Highly recommend The Story Cafe for an early breakfast near the airport.

Boy, they sure dropped the ball with service this time. I've been a regular client over the years,…read moreand have come for weekend brunch, lunch on weekdays, dinners, and even the Thursday live music nights. This is a Saturday at about 3:10pm. Upon entry, we saw only two or three tables occupied. Our waitress took her time coming up to us, and didn't really greet us. She just said they only have the Happy Hour menu as it was after 3pm. We never had Happy Hour before, but based on our past experiences, we were quite sure the smaller menu will be fine. I told her there are 4 of us, and she had to look around the restaurant, and then a looooong gaze at her tablet showing the tables. She pointed to a table towards the wall with the record player. We approached the table, then my wife wanted to sit at the end table behind ours. We asked the waitress, and she said it was reserved! OK, fine. We'll settle into our first table. We found it odd as reservations are not allowed during brunch and happy hour until 5pm. We were there shortly after 3pm. She then brought us menus, but only cared to bring two, when she knows there are four of us. Not a word, and just walked away. I turned towards her but she was already walking away. By this time, I didn't bother anymore. I just walked over myself and grabbed the menu. Then she didn't serve us anymore. Another Asian young man then came with the water bottle. A bit more eye contact this (yay) but still no smile. Just asked us what to drink. Took order and stepped away. We then ordered our dishes, and the food came promptly, except for the flat bread, which came more towards the end when other items are nearly finished. All good, but all of us just felt a whole different vibe this time, all having been here before. Sure enough, the table behind was still unoccupied by the time we left an hour later. Hmm. We were actually there to celebrate my birthday but we weren't really in the mood after not one but two servers seem to need more training. Oh, and heads up. When you call, you'll be talking to AI, not a human being! This should be a 1 star but the good food saved the day.

Insincere servers fishing for tips…read more We showed up for lunch. The place looked nice. The hostess said the tables in the covered patio were reserved but the group won't be coming for an hour so we can eat there if we want but we have to leave before the bigger party gets there. She recommended we sit further away on hard uncomfortable seats in the wind. What the heck? It was uncomfortable then another waitress with light brown hair came by and said "is there a problem?" I said "we would prefer to sit in the covered patio" She said it was okay but kind of made kind of a big deal about it. Treating me like I was being difficult when actually I was very polite considering how they were treating us. Reminding us repeatedly that a larger more important party is coming in an hour and treating us like we were a burden. It honestly just seemed like the servers are only thinking only about their tips and not wanting to serve a small family. She ignored our table the whole time. I didn't get any Parmesan. Because she never stopped to ask how the meal was. The server had someone bring the food. It wasn't even busy. She just didn't care. Our server basically did nothing but avoid us. The only time she was remotely friendly was when she handed my spouse the bill. Obviously fishing for tips. She asked what we are going to do after this and as I answered she looked away like she couldn't give an F. These bad servers need to go. Bad service always ruins a business. It really doesn't matter if the food is good when the servers are rude. We won't be coming back.
