Used to order Stan's quite a bit before Covid and it was some pretty delicious pizza, though we found the delivery driver really irritating and too high energy and chatty. We got a notification that Stan's had changed ownership, so thought we would give it a try tonight... Never again, Stan's, never again. The crust has changed to a really dry, thin crust, the chicken on the pizza is now that disgusting processed/pressed Pinty's chicken, and the sauce had no flavour. Surprisingly solid pizza joint in the Burnaby Heights area. Parking is available in front on Hastings, as well as the side streets. The restaurant is split into a restaurant and a bar section. Interior is a bit on the dingy side. Staff are friendly. Service was a bit slow, but the kitchen guy seemed swamped. Pizzas took about 20 minutes to make, which they told us up front. Looks like they custom make them to order. Price is very reasonable at $13 for a large. Tastes way better than Costco pizza for a few bucks more. Not to mention there are way more toppings available. The nearest competition I can think of around here would be Romana, but those pizzas cost twice as much. As for the taste? Beautiful. They don't skimp on the toppings. Dined at Stan's on Friday night and enjoyed some really great pizza! For a Friday night, I was expecting this spot to be a bit busier, but we walked in and there were only 3 tables sat in the whole place. The bartender told us to grab a seat anywhere we wanted. They have a huge selection of appetizers and different kinds of pizza. I was almost intimidated with all the options they had. They also have pasta and sanwiches, if that's what you're fancying. But if you're coming to Stan's, get their pizza - it's in their name! You can choose between 4 different sizes - 8", 10", 12", 14". The 8" and 10" are great personal sized pizzas, while the 12" and 14" are definitely made for sharing. We each got our own personal sized pizzas - me and 8" chicken pesto and he a 10" seafood delight. Both were delicious, but I liked my chicken pesto a lot more. We got some ranch and hot sauce on the side for dipping, which added some extra flavour. We also got a few beers. I can't remember what we both got, but they were from Russell Brewing. I've seen Russell Brewing in a few liqour stores around town, but had never tried them before and was very impressed. Would happily try some of their IPA's in the future. This definitely is casual spot, with sports playing in the background. If you're craving some decent pizza and good beer, then swing by, or call for pick up or delivery! read more

I was excited to try Stan's Pizza, but the overall experience has me skipping it next time. The pizza itself was fine. I don't have any complaints, but it was a 3.5/5. The service is what made me mark this place down. I called in an order for pick up to order two medium pizzas. First one was a pepperoni, Italian sausage and onions. Second one was mushroom and lots of cheese. Since I've never been in this restaurant before, I went up to the counter and stood there for a bit. The teenage boy was folding pizza boxes just looked and then ignored me. Maybe he was forced to work on a Friday night instead of being able to hang out with friends and therefore, grumpy. No big deal to me, I finally saw the pick up window on the other side and walked over. Paid for my pizza, tipped them and left. I get home and realized the second pizza had only cheese, no mushrooms. I called Stan's Pizza and told them about this. I can hear the staff talking in the background. "Hey, one customer Amy, said you forgot the mushrooms on her pizza" "Well, she didn't order any mushrooms!" She came back on the phone and promptly told me, mushrooms were never written down and I didn't order it. My friend was sitting beside me while I put in the phone order the first time and he heard mushrooms being ordered as well. What happen to customers being right? Even if you are sure the customer didn't order something (but I did, I have witnesses) you should still say "sorry." There was no apology and no willingness to rectify it. Poor service and I guess they don't need my business then. I wish I didn't tip them either. read more

Great location in Burnaby right on Hastings and Willingdon on the east side with lots of free parking on Hastings as well as behind the restaurant. Great friendly service with a full bar and TVs. The pizza just came and my mouth is watering. Judith was very kind to help me with my veggie pizza as I like lots of veggies and throw on some sausage instead of onions as I'm not a big fan of onions. Really appreciate the service! I eat a lot of pizza and I'm an avid fan of pizza so I would definitely recommend sitting down for a fresh pizza as it's delicious! read more

While this is not the best tasting pizza I've ever had, its so close to where I live and quite affordable compared to a lot of other pizza shops in the area. I feel for those ordering from Pizza Hut across the street and spending twice the money! Stan's has character like small businesses should, and I would definitely recommend! I have only tried pizza so I can't speak on any other menu items, but what I can say is that the Slapshot Special is my favourite one and within 5km the delivery fee is included! read more

Price was good and yes it wasn't the best pizza or maybe even in my top 25% but all in all very good. Salad and wings the same. Had a very poor experience with Stan's unfortunately. Not the type to leave a bad review but this one has me salty. Delivery took almost 2 hours, I was told it would be about 45-1hr. I ordered the meat feast with extra cheese, it came with the thinnest layer of cheese.. the pizza itself is in my opinion very average on top of this all. In the dozens and dozens of times i've ordered, only once have I not been happy and in that one case they immediately made it right. A group of us rolled into Stan's for lunch in the middle of a bike tour around North Burnaby. We were hungry, and every other Italian/Greek place in the area seemed to be closed for lunch, so Stan's it was. When you've been riding for 20 K, you're not picky. Despite the emptiness of the place upon entering and the continual apologies of the lady serving us that she wasn't really a waitress, the beer was fairly cheap ($5 for draft Granville Island lager) and the pizza was really good. I had a mini Soprano (8") with a fresh-tasting, not too thin nor too thick crust, lots of cheese, and ham, sausage, and garlic and onions. The others had some lasagna and spaghetti; both dishes came baked with a layer of melted cheese over top. The server-who-was-not-a-server was really sweet as she struggled with serving our group of six, as well as splitting the bill, while also cooking the food, so we tried to be as helpful and understanding as possible. Apparently Stan's doesn't bring in an actual server on Saturdays, instead, combining the cook/server/phone ordering functions onto the shoulders of this one nice lady, who, by the way, could have been a dead ringer for my childhood tap teacher. I'm not sure if there's much else to be said about Stan's: cheap beer, "mystery cocktail" weekend drink specials, well-dressed pizza (though not much in the way of vegetarian pies), and a spartan atmosphere. Good by default? If I lived in the area, I'd probably opt for delivery, too. read more

Yay a *good* pizza place in Burnaby, near my house! And their price point is really awesome! If you do a cash take out, you can get a small 2-topping pizza for $6! And an extra topping is just $1.25. It's a friggin' good deal! And how is the pizza? Perfectly sauced, perfectly topped, and perfectly baked. Well, my sister got a BBQ chicken pizza though, and she said the sauce was a little lacking making the pizza was a bit dry. So maybe next time I'll ask them to add a little more. read more

The employees at Stan's were really good to us. First off, they were kind enough to allow me to bring in my own (gluten free) 'Zza so I could enjoy eating along with our large group. The 3 pizzas from the menu all looked and smelled amazing and no one could stop eating. Thick crispy crust chicken with mushroom, a veggie and one with sausage meat and onion. The bar has a variety of domestic and non domestic beer. There are 2 rooms to sit or at the bar and I'm sure they do a lot of take out. How I wish I could just eat it. We'll be back with other friends and maybe I can order a salad.... Thanks goodness for Stan's. When I moved to North Burnaby, I was sad to leave my beloved Sunrise Pizza and their always perfect pies. But then I found Stan's and I haven't looked back since (plus I can still stop by Sunrise for lunch!). Stan's Pizza, just block from my place, offers great options for either dining in or delivery. The always 2 for 1 prices make ordering in for a crowd a cinch and super cheap. There are also lots of family meal options that make getting a variety of dishes from pizza, to pasta, to salads totally affordable. Delivery is always fast and hot and Stan's pizzas always taste like they were freshly made - nothing has been sitting around under a heat lamp! The ingredients are always fresh and the pies have just the right amount of cheese and sauce. Stan's creative menu offers a specialty pizza for any taste. Some of my favorites are the Hawaiian featuring BBQ sauce instead of traditional tomato sauce and the Hat-trick combining my favorite meat and veggies! Their chicken wings are to die for and their salads are super fresh.... The atmosphere at Stan's is awesome too. Two smaller rooms with a bar in the back, nice big screen TVs that make it easy for me to get my husband out of the house - even on a game day, and super helpful staff make Stan's a place you want to hang out. We liked it so much that we hosted our super casual wedding party there. Stan's staff rolled with the punches on a busy Friday night and let us have a whole side of the restaurant to ourselves! They took great care of us and every time we order a pizza we are reminded of our special day! If you're doing take out, the 'Super Family Special' is the best -- 3 Large, 3 toppings, 2L Coke - $35.50 +tax I like to give the pies a quick broil when I get them home. Iv had it many times, scince I live in the heights.(only delivery tho, its pricier if u sit inside) Its one of those places that will cater to you if your unhappy with the food or service. Decent Pizza so there are 3 types of pizza (that i have tried) thin crust, thicker crust and deep dish...stans is the thick crust type. filling and chewy (think pizza hut like). I would have given it a better review - however, when i went to pick up my pizza i had a glimpse in the kitchen - there were a couple opportunities of 'cross contamination' that kind of made me uneasy. Stan, Stan, he's our man! I can't speak for the actual joint itself, only our experiences placing orders for delivery. We were hardcore Saprinos pizza people. Sadly, over time, Sarpinos got worse and worse and then just absolutely terrible. It was devastating. Who in the Heights could we trust for our once a month, Friday night, pizza fun time? Who?! After a couple of pizza-free months, we decided, what the heck and gave Stan a call. Best. Call. Ever. Stan's pizza is awesome! I love the chewy, sort of thick crust, smothered in tasty tomato sauce. I always go for the Aloha Special and the husband is a Meat Feast kind of guy. We have yet to be disappointed. We love whoever takes our order, right down to the guy who delivers to us. The other day I had a friend in town and we decided to order some pizza. I told him we had a couple of good pizza places in Burnaby with Stan's being one of them. We looked through the menu online and decided to order a couple medium specialty pizzas. We ordered at 6:15pm and the girl told me it would be about 45-60 minutes so we figured we would be eating around 7ish. So 7 rolls around and nothing, 7:15 still nothing then by 7:30 I thought I better give them a call back to see what was going on since it's been 1 hour and 15 minutes so far. The guy on the phone apologizes to me and says the girl never should have quoted us 45-60 min because it was super busy there. He mentioned that "Stan" himself would be delivering our pizzas and that we should speak to him about it and that he should be there soon. Finally at 8pm, (1 hour and 45 minutes later) Stan shows up. My buddy answered the door and asked "what happened they told us the pizzas would be here in 45-60 minutes". Stan replies "oh yeah we got slammed, we we're really busy" I thought this was the lamest apology I had ever heard so I had to chime in and mentioned to him it took double the time we were quoted. He says "oh yeah sorry guys but we don't cook them until they are ready to be delivered so it should be hot and fresh" At this point I just gave up, we paid and Stan left. I'm still shocked at the customer service we received that night and especially from the owner of the place himself. He acted like he didn't care at all and his apology was half assed. I've passed this place SO many times on the way home from SFU, wondering if I should stop in... Well! The fact that it's football season and I get out of class at 1720 on Monday nights gave me the reason I needed. The signs outside that say "Watch the game here" finally drew me in... Even though I think those are hockey signs... Nevertheless! I'm so glad I did!! I found my dream pizza!!! It's called "Smokin hot" or something like that... hot pepperoni, capicola, jalapenos, banana peppers, and some other hot peppers... I top it off with some crushed chillies and parm, and viola!
