They have a good selection of dishes on their menu. Each of them look equally delicious. Been there for 2-3 times for lunch, food quality and deliciousness is consistent. Garlic bread is included which is a nice bonus. Portion is sized just enough. Pricing is reasonable and affordable. Otherwise, overall a good place to go if you are looking for decent pasta in the area. In terms of service, servers do what they need to do and check in to make sure all is good. It's a good atmosphere as it is never really busy during lunch time, so you can be seated immediately. Also relatively quiet. The only thing not great is the parking. There is limited street parking, which is pretty much always occupied, but there is a small lot around the corner you can park at and then walk there. 10/10 would recommend to try at least once as their menu will have you going back to try their other food items read more

I got the seafood rose gnocchi ($20). There was a generous amount of seafood in it, and the gnocchi was nice and chewy. The sauce though was a bit too sweet and thick, so it was very overpowering and I lowkey got sick of it by the time I finished the dish. read more

Service was okay. Nothing special. It actually took them a bit of time to come out and seat us. I assume they were understaffed or maybe the service is slow. Ambiance and decor at this location could be a bit more exciting but the food was the star of the show. It is a fusion of Korean flavours and Italian cuisine dishes. It works well together! My friend and I got their risottos and they were really delicious. Served fresh, hot, flavorful. It was also a decent bang for your buck. I was pretty full afterwards. read more

Came in for a late lunch on a weekday so it was not busy I've had the Risotto Marisco before and it was delicious so I wanted to try a different dish this time The Rose Forno was pretty cheesy with a spicy kick. They were generous with the meat and mushrooms The carbonara is my favorite, it was creamy and tasty They also have plastic cutlery, high chair and kids menu. The booths and tables/chairs offer good variety for family seating arrangements The meal came with a few pieces of garlic toast which was a good start for the hungry kiddo Overall a family friendly casual pasta spot for pasta! They also offer a lunch add on special to add $8-$12 for mini caprese and green salad and meatballs for dine-in read more

Came here on a Saturday evening around 7pm and got seated right away. The restaurant isn't too busy and service is fast. They have a unique menu with dishes of Italian pasta with a Korean fusion. Was recommended this place by a colleague and since my partner loves pasta, we decided to try it out. Food was delicious and the service was great. The waiter provided us more garlic bread while we waited for our food and the bread was melt in your mouth soft! The environment wasn't what we expected of a pasta restaurant and the Christmas music being played was a bit loud in our opinion. The decor and set up didn't really go well together, but overall a good experience. read more

Truly is a nostalgic joint as I used to go here during high school times. It used to be infamous for their buy two get one free pasta dishes but I believe that deal is no longer available. Regardless of which, they have some great pasta dishes, and are a Korean Italian fusion. You can also adjust spice level if available! They take reservations which is nice for a larger group. Parking is abysmal in that location, but that isn't their fault. Usually, I just find parking in the back or on side streets. Most pasta dishes are between $16-$20 and have quite hearty portion and you also get a slice of garlic bread for free. Staff is friendly and usually run by one person but very efficiently. read more

We were in the area and found this restaurant after a quick Yelp search. We stopped by for a late lunch. The restaurant was not busy and we were seated right away. Menu, water and kids dining set dropped off. After reviewing the menu, we ordered spaghetti carbonara, seafood and chicken linguine with rose sauce, and cheese sticks. Garlic bread was dropped off. It was sliced bread with a light coating of garlic butter. The cheese sticks arrived next and it tasted like the standard grocery store variety. The spaghetti carbonara was delicious. There was a good amount of bacon and the pasta was generously coated in sauce. The food is Asian-style pasta so it is not the most authentic for those looking for Italian. However, portion size was good for the price. Service was great. Restaurant is child friendly for families with young children. We did not feel rushed to leave as our child took his time eating his meal. read more

This is very interesting Korean style Italian food place. I was actually quite surprised at how much I enjoyed the food. The portion is quite good and you can get dishes under $20 which is great. Accessing the restaurant is a little tough though because parking is the greatest if you're driving.. the restaurant shared parking with slot of its neighbouring businesses. read more

Can I just say that I absolutely adore ALL of their pastas? The portions are huge and the price cannot be beat. It's more of a "hole-in-the-wall"/dive-y type restaurant located in a plaza with Florence pizza and such. Very small and quaint, and unfortunately, they don't have a lot of seating, which means that during busy times, you would have to wait quite a bit. I love it for its comfy vibes, it's such a comforting place to visit during rainy season. Also, their service is always consistent, and you are always taken care of! Anyway! Onto the food! I ordered Linguine al Frutti di Mare (seafood linguine in a rose/white/red sauce, I specifically got the rose sauce) and my friend ordered Fusilli alla Lucana which is a meat based pasta with dough covering it. There was a little mishap during our dinnertime-- my friends dish came out underbaked, so we had to send it back and and ask for it to be baked for a little longer. The server was polite and kind about it and brought the dish back to us perfectly baked. And when we dug in... Oh heavens! It was so delicious, we could barely talk while we ate. That is really all I can say about this place. If you are ever in town, I highly recommend this place! Like really highly. If I could eat here every day, I totally would. Tip: when you dine at Jimoco's you get garlic bread, and it's perfect to soak up the leftover pasta sauce with, so do not be shy to ask for more, if you need! Remember, carbs are friends. read more

Add this onto your list for delicious hidden gems in Coquitlam. Jimoco is known for their Korean Italian inspired pasta dishes and lets just say its chef kiss. * Rose tteokbokki ($17) ~ this was pretty solid. I like the thick cuts of sausage that's included into it. I do wish it has more of a kick as it was more tomato than kick. Perfect for those who want tteokbokki without the kick! The rice cake itself was firm and more on the chewy side which was nice. 6.5/10. * Calamari ($12) ~ super crispy and delicious, the sauce it came paired with was a bit sweet which really helped with cutting the salty flavors of all the pasta we tried. 7.5/10. * Pepperoni pizza ($15) ~ ultra thin crust pizza, and not oily. It was good and had good amount of cheese, sauce and pepperoni ratio. I loved how I was thin, and delicious. 8.5/10. * Rose forno ($18) ~ THIS WAS BOMB probably on of my top dishes we tried. The cheesy goodness was so good, loads of cheese, sauce and meat in the penne dish. It was also very well flavored. 10/10. * Risotto seafood ($17) ~ this was good too, the risotto was perfectly cooked and super creamy. Loads of seafood the clams, mussels, and scallops were all nicely coated in the cream sauce and it was delicious. 8.5/10. * Caprese salad ($12) ~ refreshing salad for a nice day. The tomatoes were super sweet and the cheese was a good ratio, not to mention that balsamic glaze was bomb! Good amount of salad to pair with the pastas it really helped cut the heaviness. 9/10. * Truffle oil cream ($16) ~ amazing. Perfectly cooked al dente pasta, and not to mention the truffle oil cream was sooo good with it. Loads of mushrooms too. Probably one of my fav dish here! 10/10. * Also got Truffle Oil Fries ~ this was yummy Costco fries with a subtle hint of truffle and parmesan. 8/10. * Overall id definitely see myself coming back for their pastas if im ever in the area and craving because it was delicious! read more

Our favourite was the cream pesto, it was linguine pasta tossed in a super rich and creamy pesto sauce with broccoli, basil, mushroom and cheese! Loved the sauce so so much~ one of the most delicious pesto sauce I've had We also got the Cacciatore Ribs which was surprisingly delicious as well! A warm greeting upon entering a clean welcoming strip mall cafe. Our waitress was attentive and informative. My rating is based solely on the pasta! The pasta was perfectly cooked, not always the case believe me, and good quality with delicious sauces. A vast selection is available. The Caesar salad was fresh and well dressed. Our garlic bread could've been "warmer" with abit more garlic butter. NOW on to the calamari ... sadly I must say it was VERY disappointing. Would evaluate as not "fresh" seafood with a very poor flavorless "batter". The dip was mediocre. Left much of it on the plate which is rare for me! read more

They've raised their prices over the years quite a bit. They used to be cheap and really good (especially when they used to be on the south side of coquitlam off of Austin Ave) now they're pretty good usually and no longer cheap A solid spot if you want pasta. My experience to date has consisted of a single takeout order of pasta. Since they offer 2-for-1 on their pasta, I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs and the spaghetti carbonara. I also ordered an extra side of meatballs for $5. Much to my surprise, this side order consisted of ONE single meatball. Even more surprising was the spaghetti and meatBALLS was also singular. Yep, just one. I was totally disappointed because I read the menu (with photos!) and looked at all the photos on their Yelp page prior to ordering. All the photos show three meatballs on the spaghetti and the side order is four meatballs for $5. I wrote to the restaurant to ask about this but they simply ignored me. Not impressed, that's for sure. The garlic toast that comes with the pasta is pretty mediocre but the pasta itself was actually really good. Especially the carbonara. For the price (taking into consideration the 2-for-1 deal) I thought the portions of pasta were quite reasonable. Works out to about $10 per plate. The side order of meatballs (ha!) however, are grossly overpriced. Really? Five bucks for one medium sized ball of ground meat? No thanks. I'll probably go back, though, because the carbonara was just that good. read more

The 6 of us ordered 10 pastas in total. The wait staff actually said its the first that she's seen it like that. Granted we had 4 guys and 2 girls.. Pasta's.. were good, but nothing mind boggling. The menu looked like they served a variety of things, but they were all same sauces with different pastas. One of my favorites was the risotto with mushrooms. Nom so yummy :) For about $16 (before tax) for 2.. its quite a good deal. For 1.. not so much. SO YAY! I got to try a whole bunch of different Pastas. But it wouldn't be my go to place... for my pasta kicks. Surprisingly delicious! We ordered 3 different pastas for takeout, and each was a hit with the family. The spaghetti carbonara is very rich and creamy... way creamier than a normal carbonara. It almost has an Alfredo flavour. But is still has the eggy bacony garlicky deliciousness. If you want a lot classic carbonara, go with the Umbria carbonara. It's a lot drier but still with all the great carbonara flavour, plus some black pepper and guincale (pork jowl bacon). This was my favourite. The third pasta we had was fusilli with Italian sausage and red peppers. Fairly standard, not as special as the carbonara, but still good. A huge portion. The Caesar salad is packed with fresh garlic and anchovy. Just the way I like it. However, there is a little too much of something sweet in it which my kids didn't really care for. All in all, great value for great pastas. read more

Went for breakfast and I got Egg's benedict with tomato I think. Food came out pretty quickly. I was looking forward to trying the pasta here, but when we arrived, they said they were only serving breakfast items until a certain time (probably 12 lunch time), so went with the egg's benedict that came with a side of salad and potatoes in squares. I actually really enjoyed the potatoes, they were crunchy and perfect texture. I think I liked the potatoes more than the Egg's benedict which looked fancy and nice, but mine was a bit bland so I added ketchup. Other than that, nice place to brunch or catch up with friends. read more

Be warned: limited parking spaces available at the back, and signage warns that drivers run the risk of being towed if they park in any of the spaces not allocated to Jimoco (2 numbered stalls plus any unnumbered stalls... so basically no spots). We asked the waitress if we were OK parked where we were and since it was a Sunday late afternoon she felt it was probably OK but no promises! On to the food - everyone comes here for the Pasta 2 for 1 and they have a large selection to choose from, which caused some stress for my indecisive self. We were given garlic bread to start (below average) and then we settled on the pasta parma and the spaghetti carbonara umbria. The umbria sauce was not as eggy as a carbonara should be and was more on the thicker creamy/cheesy side. While we both felt there was way too much cheese in the cream-based sauces, I was ok with the rest of my dish while my partner did not like his at all. If you're expecting a traditional Italian pasta flavor profile you won't find it here... this is more of an Asian spin on pasta and if you're not open to that you probably won't enjoy it. Nevertheless, this was a great deal and I would love to return and try the different dishes. -1 star for parking difficulties. read more

I remember coming here many years ago and the would be hour long lineups, but the place was near empty for Sunday lunch time. Odd. Maybe it's because it wasn't lunch time yet? (We were there at 12:30pm) anyways, no one greeted us at the front, and finally someone noticed as we walked in halfway to the counter and told us we'd be seated in a couple minutes. Looking at the menu, prices have gone up by about $3-5 per dish, such was expected due to inflation and whatnot over the years. From the 2 for 1 menu we ordered 4 dishes for 5 people. First to arrive was the Risotto Al Frutti Di Mar ($21.95) with rose sauce (you can choose from tomato, rose, cream, wine, or curry). It was a pretty small portion if it weren't 2 for 1. The risotto was about 0.5 inches deep and although it tasted great, it definitely needed more cream to the rose. Tasted like plain tomato sauce. The mussels were hit or miss on freshness, some of them have definitely gone bad. Next was the Linguine Al Frutti Di Mar ($20.95) in white wine sauce. Portions got smaller for this one, definitely not like the pictures on the menu. The was about a cups' worth of pasta on the plate. There were scallops, mussels, clams, and shrimp in this dish. The flavors were great and noodles cooked al dente. Again, the shellfish was not fresh, tasted fishy and smelled pungent. Then the Fusilli Alla Lucana ($22.95) arrived a little on the burnt side. Interesting presentation since it's covered with pizza dough on top, which helped keep the dish warm while we finished the others first. At this point I didn't understand why they used such large plates if they were only going to fill them 1/3 or halfway because it just looks bad. Anyways, only dish that wasn't seafood, the sausage and pasta was decent. Pizza dough was very dense and although interesting in design, felt disconnected to the whole dish. Last was the Linguine Soul Bianco ($21.95). Last time I came here I got the Linguine Soul which is the spicy tomato base, but I wanted to try something new, the Bianco is a white seafood sauce base. This was very delicious with fragrant herbs and succulent seafood sauce infused in the pasta as it bubbled in front of us. Unfortunately the mussels and clams weren't all fresh, more than half were inedible. It's sad to see such a great restaurant come to this. The flavors and execution were amazing, but subpar staff, ingredients weren't fresh, and portions were tiny. I was disappointed and unsatisfied with my revisit. I guess good things don't last forever :( read more

I came here with Dave S. for dinner, and since have gone back for take-out... but if you're planning on going there for take-out, be advised that they don't actually have a take-out menu. You kind of have to know what you want in advance. Which isn't the easiest thing, since pretty much everything on the menu has an Italian name.... but fortunately the staff will take pity on your ignorance, and you can just kind of describe what you want in your pasta and what colour you want it and they'll figure something out for you. At least that's what happened to me. All that said, when I went there the first time, all I got was a bowl of Cioppino. I think it was about eight dollars. An amazing, fragrant, flavourful bowl of Cioppino made with fresh ingredients and served in a piping hot cast iron bowl. It was unbelievable. And for EIGHT dollars! If you like seafood, at all, seriously get the Cioppino. I am unfortunately not able to recall the other two pastas I got as take-out (yeah, of course I got two. It's 2-for-1, always. How sweet is that?) as I am not fluent in Italian and you'd practically have to be to remember some of the names. Or I'm stupid. Whatever, get out of my face. You should be getting the Cioppino anyway. (I think it was the Linguine Soul, which is another seafood pasta that uses the same base sauce as the Cioppino, but has linguine tossed in, and some sort of Chicken Alfredo dealy.... only it wasn't called anything even remotely like Chicken Alfredo. And I didn't actually end up eating it.... ) All in all, the food is fresh and tasty and cheap, the dine-in environment is tiny and slightly cramped with crappy parking but it's so completely worth it for the food here, and the staff is very friendly and very helpful. Skip the Old Spaghetti Factory and go here instead. read more

Boyfriend and I had no dinner plan and were too lazy to cook on a Friday night, so we started exploring food options in New West and Coquitlam. 2 for 1 PASTA definitely caught our eye! After reading some very positive reviews about this place, we decided to give it a try. Jimoco is surrounded by a few old shops and restaurants. It looks ghetto from the outside! I was very surprised to see the line up when we opened the door. There were about 5 groups of people ahead of us when we put our name down. The waiting area was just right by the door- small and crowded. We waited at least half an hour before getting a table. I didn't mind the wait since everyone seemed to enjoy their food. After we sat down, our waitress was very pleasant and apologized for the wait. While we were debating between the meatballs and caesar salad as our appetizer, our waitress advised that they made their own caesar salad dressing. We then ended up getting both! I really liked the salad especially the cheese crumbs on top! Romain lettuce was very fresh and crunchy. But we both didn't like the meatballs. It was over-baked, very dry. The tomato sauce was not too bad. Here it comes to our 2 for 1 pasta! I ordered Carbonara and my boyfriend got the Fettuccine Ragu. The Carbonara was very tasty! Creamy but not too heavy with a good amount of thick bacon bites. The Ragu was made out of beef short ribs, not just ground beef! Portion was pretty good too for the price! Large Caesar Salad $6 4 Meatballs $5 2 for 1 Pasta $18.95 Overall I really enjoyed this place! Although it was not all perfect such as the meatballs, but I think it deserves a 5 star for the value! It can't really get any better for the price! We will definitely come back again! read more

Pizzas are very thin, and a little crispy on the edge. We ordered margarita pizza, would be better if tomato sauce was more evenly spread out. Cheapest good quality pasta in Vancouver : Jimoco t's been an extremely long time since I wrote on here because I've been busy with job applications and school and I'm still busy. Just taking a quick 10 minute out of my day (during class) to write a short blog about Jimoco. Recently I've been hermiting at home and not very active with my social life. My friend and I decided to for lunch near my place and he recommended Jimoco. Apparently Jimoco is a "new" store with their "grand opening" special for a while and when I mean a while I mean over 3 months.. The deal is 2 for 1 pasta on their more "expensive" menu. The most expensive pasta I noticed was around $19 before tax so pretty cheap! So you average price there for two people is only around $20 after tips so technically speaking each person really only pays around $8 for the pasta itself (gratuity not included). I ordered their recommended pasta which was the seafood linguini called "Linguini Soul". The pasta dish is a seafood pasta immersed in a tomato based sauce. The menu said that it's a spicy dish but trust me its not spicy at all What I found odd was that this authentic italian restaurant is populated with Korean. Advice to them: hire koreans to ease off the stress when taking orders read more

Jimoco Cafe & Pasta - Penne Bombay - Italian Near Me - Coquitlam, British Columbia

Came here last weekend. They apparently are well known for having their 2 for 1 deal. But honestly, it's more like buying 2 for the price of 2, because what you get quantity wise is not worth the price if you didn't want the "free" one. Oh and importantly, you can mix and match so you can get two different dishes for the price of "one". With that being said, the food in my opinion is very delicious here. Depending on how big of an eater you are, 1 dish might fill you up to a comfortable level, but I probably could have finished both in one sitting. I don't remember exactly what I had, but it had penne on cream sauce. The cream sauce is to die for. I made sure I finished every last drop. The penne was not too hard or soft, so can't complain there either! Only downside is that the servers can probably be a bit attentive. There were 3 servers when I was there and the place isn't that big, but it was rather difficult to get a hold of one because they would either on their cell phone in the cash area or chatting amongst themselves. But overall, delicious food and great value. I would definitely recommend coming here if you're in the area. read more

Live around this area and drive through this street so often, however I never know there is a pasta restaurant here. Saw the review with good rating on yelp and decide to try it out. It's just like what other have said. Decent ambience. Friendly server. I ordered the pasta that comes within a hotpot. The hotpot keeps the noodle warm throughout the whole meal. With the entree, it also comes with a garlic toast. And best of all, most of the entrees are 2 for 1. ^_^ Imo, the $2.00 side salad that can be ordered with entree is a bit too small in portion. The vaggies are fresh though. We also ordered a large latte. It comes in a fairly large mug. Only $3.50 per cup. Pretty good value. Definitely gonna bring my friends to try it. read more

Space heaters, sparse decor, great food, lovely service and dinner for two that came to less than $27. On a late snowy night I had my first Jimoco experience. It was 10 minutes before closing and we still were warmly welcomed inside. We warmed our toes by a space heater and waited for 5 minutes as the place was jumping. When we were brought back to a booth our server greeted my friend and recited what my friend had ordered on previous occasions. This greatly impressed my friend as the restaurant is busy. We both ordered the anchovy caesar salads to start with. Nice size salads with a anchovy filet on top (just push aside if don't care for anchovies) and zesty, well portioned dressing. I prefer this salad to ones at many well-liked local restaurants. My friend had a baked pasta (excellent). I had the Bombay (curry) penne. It exceeded my expectations. I aim to go back soon as I have been craving this dish madly since. I would make it myself, but Jimoco is so inexpesive to eat at and I would like to sample their other dishes as well. The pasta is accompanied by garlic toast and is a reasonable portion. I took 1/2 of my dish home for lunch the next day. read more
