The mother restaurant to Gastronomia Italia, this place is tucked away in the most food diverse street in New West. There is pay parking on the street, but I believe you can get free parking in the back if there is space. Ambiance- it has a warm comforting feeling when you go in, which is great when you want to have an intimate time with a date or friend. Service- our servers slayed haha. They were amazing and always checked up on us to see how we were doing. They also made recommendations for drinks which we ended up going for and enjoying! Food- it was okay. It could just be because I was not used to seeing raisins in meatballs. I also tried out a dish I've never had before and was more rosemary forward than anything. Considering how much I loved the food from Gastronomia Italia, I was bummed that the dishes here did not deliver. But their pastas were perfectly cooked and I believe they make them from scratch.

First off, the rumor is true. We confirmed it with the staff. Artusi is under new management since 2023. The original owner is now focusing on his other venture (Gastronomia Italia on Columbia and 6th). Looking at the old and current menu, some items were kept, some gone and others were new. Now there is brunch on weekend too. There was only one server on duty when we were there on a Sunday night. It was not super busy with only a few tables occupied. The place was nice and had a warm feel to it. We decided to have the pasta and I liked how they were not tossed in the typical tomato or cream sauces. They were different and the types of pasta were also not that common either. I guess these would be what you get in Italy? I had the gnocchi cipolla. That had caramelized sweet onions, guanciale, balsamic reduction and rosemary. I got this only because I recognized guanciale as similar to bacon and that it was also in carbonara. I liked it. A bit on the sweet side but the gnocchi was pillowy soft and absorbed the sauce well. My friends had other pasta and they liked their dishes too. Prices were fair for the pasta which were in the $20+ range. We were too full for desserts ($12) though I'll like to come back to try the lemon tiramisu. A crowd favorite and kept from the old menu. Apparently you can get it to go too. Next time.

Came here on a snowy Saturday and the whole restaurant was empty. The server is very nice, chatting with us while we waited for someone in the party. She even allowed me to change my pasta from orecchiette to pici pasta. The food though was mediocre. Pici pasta was al dente which was good but cream sauce was kinda too creamy and thick in consistency. There was nothing really special about the dishes we had.

In comparison, Beef Carpaccio we were served yesterday at our favourite fine-dining Italian resto at Downtown NWest. Lower priced, mind you.

two couples, both locals. never tried this resto before but had heard of it. we came in at 5:30 pm knowing parking in the area can be difficult. pay street parking was available since it was early. No wait time, only two other tables occupied. Bottomline, will not go again, and will not recommend. Food: We ordered pasta and a couple of appetizers. Total of 5 dishes. Only one dish was worth writing home about -- the grilled scallops (4 pieces) which were well-seasoned & cooked right. The pasta dishes were bland. The beef carpaccio wasn't worth the name. There were greens in the middle and six paper thin slices of beef spread around the plate, can't even tell whether it was tenderloin. So thin it was almost transparent, and when I forked to lift it, the meat disintegrated and stuck to the plate. The foccacia came with what looked like a drop of balsamic with two tsps of olive oil in a 1.5" diameter dipping dish. We had to ask for more dip. Service: properly trained servers would ask whether we want or need anything else, freshly milled pepper or parmesan cheese perhaps for the 3 pasta dishes? No, they put the dishes on the table and left. Felt so bad about this meal that the following Saturday, went back to the comfort of our favourite outstanding fine-dining Italian resto in Downtown New West (if you are a New Westie you know which I am referring to). My gosh, the carpaccio alone, at a dollar less! Artusi should take the carpaccio off their menu.

"God allowed me to live this long so that I could come to Artusi." - My grandmother, upon tasting the calamarata profumo di mare. In some ways, I'm hesitant to post this review because I selfishly want to keep Artusi to myself, but this excellent establishment deserves a wider fan base than just my wallet. This is hands down the best Italian restaurant I've been to in the Lower Mainland thus far. We made a reservation several days in advance, which I recommend doing because the space is not large. We were warmly greeted upon entering, as we got our vaccine passports scanned. Katrina, our server, was fantastic--personable, knowledgeable, and warm. She brought us a bit of house-made focaccia with oil and vinegar, and from the first bite, I knew our dining experience was going to be something special. The gamberi in camicia was smoky, sweet, and savory. The tagliatelle papalina was cheesy, salty, and scrumptious (my sister's favorite). The tagliata Italiana (beef tenderloin with salad) was unbelievably tender, and the salad and olive oil on top balanced it out so well. And the crown jewel, in my and my grandma's opinions, was the calamarata profumo di mare: the mingling of white wine, seafood, tomato, and garlic was out of this world. For dessert, we ordered the house-made lemon cherry gelato that came with a Limoncello shot. Katrina informed us that we could pour the shot over the gelato, affogato style, and it was honestly a game changer. The bitterness of the liquor and the sweetness of the gelato harmonized beautifully. All this and a couple glasses of wine came out to ~$150 before tip, which is honestly a very fair price tag. Our evening at Artusi was perfect, and now that you've read this and decided to go, I hope yours will be too.

You want amazing Italian flavours, friendly service and affordable prices then look no further than New Westminster's Artusi Restaurant. Run, don't walk! Sitting in the quaint setting, my two friends and I agreed everything on the menu looked outstanding and way difficult to choose so went family-style to sample a bit of everything. We had a starter, one pasta, one special of the day, a secondi and desserts. We started with the Contadino a beautiful assortment of fresh focaccia, grilled vegetables, olives and pickled vegetables on a wooden board. Very happy with the mixed of sweet and salty flavours. Pici Neri Alle Vongole was the best I have tasted outside of Europe. The handmade squid ink pasta was cooked perfectly and appreciate the server letting us know this dish had a dash of spice heat. Amazing that the lemon zest popped even either the spice. Nicely layered flavours. Sablefish was the special of the day and served with roasted tomatoes and vegetables. The fish was fresh and cooked to perfection. Very happy we selected this dish. We wanted a meat dish and the Filetto Di Manzo Tagliata didn't disappoint. The pan-seared beef tenderloin was so tender and just melted in my mouth. Loved the simplicity of the fresh herb butter for the searing. To finish our meal, Chocolate Panna Cotta and Lemon tiramisu. Both refreshing and a good size. With drinks, tip and tax, $60 each and walked out full and happy. Will recommended Artusi to friends. Been informed that a grocery shop from Artusi will be opening around the corner. There is free parking on 4th Avenue than pay for meter parking on 6th Street.

My friend highly recommended Artusi to me, so I came in with high expectation. We were greeted and seated promptly. Our friend and us ordered a carpaccio, meatball, scallop, and a veal salad as appy. Carpaccio was nicely seasoned, paper thin and butter smooth. It was nicely paired with smoked eggplant mousse and parmagiano. Meatball was doused with a thick flavorful tomato sauce, and as I bite into the meatball, there're bits of sweetness from raisins. There were lots and lots of creamy milky burrata cheese with tomatoes and sun dried tomatoes. Honestly, I was more than half full when I finished the appetizers already. We ordered the calamarata pasta and a pork & beef ragu pasta, as well as a pan seared beef tenderloin. Pasta were cooked perfectly al dente, sauce is great and ingredients are fresh. The beef tenderloin is cooked to medium rare perfectly with fingering potatoes. The beef tenderloin paired up with the bottle of red wine that we ordered so wonderfully together. We were way too full for dessert. Service has been nice, on point and attentive throughout the night. I will be back for sure!

I got real mixed feelings about it and I really want to love or at least like it, but my gut feeling says it's just not worth it. So let's start with the good things then why I still don't think it's worth it. Pros: -friendly server -plating looks nice -chill vibe with homey decorations -the bread was made to perfection -the pasta with saffron was a unique dish -red wine was good but my goodness the price lol Cons: -portion is small (3 appetizers and 3 main courses for 3 people...we had to go over to the sushi restaurant for a whole meal each) -it's way over priced for the portion and some of the dishes quality -the meatball were small and doesn't feel homemade (I've had great meatballs from restaurants and European grandmas from different countries, none tastes as blend) and they were BURNT! I don't need a little bit, I meant like I couldn't even cut through it and the after taste is just the burnt black stuff... -the eggplant appetizer is a cool idea and looks nice on the plate but the flavour and texture wasn't executed well -the other two pastas were order were okay but nothing too special. The spicy one was nice but I'm not sure it's something I'll order a second time. The spinach one I don't really remember what it tastes like at all. Overall, the food don't taste bad and some tastes great but with the price and burnt items and portion..it's just not worth it. Not a place I'd tell people to avoid but your experience is not guaranteed just because you are paying more. It's 50/50, and they still ask for 18% minimum if not 20% or 25% which is CRAZY. This ain't downtown or NYC or Paris or London. Only 3 tables in a pretty big restaurant, plus us which I guess tells us something. It's for someone with money and not mind the risk of 50/50 or don't mind not feeling satisfied. I was craving pasta the whole week and looking forward to it and by the end, not just I wasn't full but it didn't even satisfy my pasta cravings..which I was really disappointed in. Will not be going back as there's definitely a lot of other better places. I don't mind paying the price, and some of the ones I've been to are even more expensive but we're worth it, this just isn't one of them.

My daughter told me to try her friends restaurant and I'm so glad we came! From the moment we walked in we were greated by the lovely staff. The ladies were friendly and attentive. We came for an early birthday/father's day celebration with my family. All their pasta's were made for scratch and the sauce was just the right consistency and full of mouth watering flavours but not overpowering! Today was most of a pasta night but I already have reservations for next week with a bigger group to try their other entrees. Artusi is a must if you're feeling some Italian! Reservations recommended.

We ordered take out at the place. We are still not that comfortable with dining in but will definitely come back when things die down again. The restaurant has two patio tables and inside the restaurant it is very spacious. There are two friendly staff and they wear a mask the whole time. They have a window specifically for take out orders. We ordered a porchetta, PICI AL RAGU' BIANCO and ORECCHIETTE ALLA NORCINA. Firstly, I really like the nice touch of labelling all the dishes and put the cold dish in a separate bag so the starter doesn't get warm. I love their attention to details. I love the porchetta. The meat isn't salty and the roast onions is lovely. The pasta is cooked al dante and creamy. I like the ragu better than orecchkette one. I am a small eater so I was only able to each half of my pasta and a few bites of the starter. We will definitely come back for more!

A fancy Italian restaurant in new west. A plus is their menu online has pictures of all their dishes so if you have a hard to deciding, maybe your eyes will decide for you. It and be confusing to go by the name of the pasta dishes so having pictures of each dish really helps then you what the sauce and pasta looks like! The picture menu is a nice touch and so is the entire restaurant, it's fancy yet casual. I loved their starter bread and the dip is oily but also the black vinegarette inside the olive oil was so good to dip with the bread. They also can provide more bread to use to scoop up the sauce remaining from your pasta. We got ORECCHETTE CARBONARA DI MARE that is the one with white cream and seafood. The seafood was small but fresh. The other dish was PICI AL CINGHIALE with a red sauce which I like and the interesting thing is the meat is wild boar which I wanted to try, it was super saucy so I had left over sauce with meats.

I love pasta and I wanted to take a break from sushi so we went to check out this cute Italian place in New West. I was a bit disappointed that they did not have their uni pasta dish available. The pasta I ordered was very creamy and cheesy. It also had pieces of diced prosciutto. Their prices are very reasonable. I am curious about their seafood pastas and would like to come back to try it next time!

Friendly, helpful service. Food was amazing in taste and texture with many things created from scratch in house. Great atmosphere and music.

All the dishes were excellent in taste & well prepared. I felt the portions of the Pasta's could have been a " shade larger" in quantity. Only Tomato Ketchup was offered with the Burger & I had to ask for Tabasco sauce to spice up the food. There were no Salt or Pepper cellars at the table & on request Salt was provided in a porcelin dish along with the Tabasco Sauce. It was such a nice experience the last time that we decided to go again. What a disappointment. We shared the same pasta we had the last time and it was still really good Zio Italiano. For entrees my husband had the pizza special of the day and it was disappointing. We did not care for the taste and the crust was soggy. My husband had roast duck the last time we were there, and it was so good that I decided on it for my entree. Our waitress said that it was served medium rare. Duck breast generally is served medium rare so I didn't have an issue with this. When it came to the table it wasn't just rare it was raw. I couldn't cut it with my knife and I sent it back to the kitchen. I had a caprese salad - very expensive at $19.00. It was good but I've had much better. A man, who I believe was probably the manager came to the table to check on us and apologized for the duck. We shared a creme brulee for dessert. With a bottle of one of the reasonably priced wines at $60.00 our meal with tip was almost $200.00. Definitely not worth the money. It was so different from our last experience. It's unlikely that we would return. I gave it 5* last time. What a difference. It was so much better last time and although the pricing is the same we felt that received value for the money last time.

Chef Henry could cook this simple dish so well that I could 100% guarantee it is hard to find such a good simple dish in Greater Vancouver. Linguine Pescatora was full of seafood (shrimps, mussels, clams, scallops, and calamari) in a light spicy tomato sauce.
