A cute hole in the wall restaurant. Came here on valentine's day and loved the ambiance. The tables are quite packed together, so don't be surprised if you're super close to the table next to you or someone has to squeeze by to get to their table. Service was decent. Had to wait a couple minutes, despite having a reservation, but it is a bit expected on a holiday like Valentines. The food though was FANTASTIC. We got the pesto gnocchi and the linguini ai gamberoni. It was delicious! The portions were average and the price point was comparable to other Italian restaurants. Based on the food, I will be back.

Used an Entertainment coupon. Server was somewhat sniffy about taking it. Friend had pasta with a meat based sauce, mine was vegetarian and of course, mine was 50 cents more! Both dishes came out suspiciously fast and very, very hot (too hot to eat). Portion size was good, but for $17.50 for pasta I expect amazing taste with lots of lovely fresh veggies in the sauce. No veggies, sauce was ok. Not bad, just meh. I had a cappuccino which had over a tablespoon of grounds in it ($4.75) and when I pointed it out (and the server said, "oh I could read your tea leaves!"), server told me she would let them know, but didn't offer to take it off the bill. This would have been a real waste of money without the coupon. With the coupon, only a partial waste. All that said, I've heard from others the meat dishes without pasta are good. The service also (excepting the lack of action on the coffee) was friendly and attentive.

It's a good place, but not the best. For the price that you pay you can get better food. For an Italian restaurant, who is supposed to really know about pasta, they really didn't get the cooking right for it and my ravioli was too soft. You could barely feel the taste of the veal inside. The mozzarella on top was just wrong, and not Italian at all, but I won't take it in consideration since it was my choice anyway. My Tartufo for dessert was nice, but nothing that you can't have somewhere else. I should probably give this place 2 stars but my company was really pleasant, so

Fourth time here and once again we had a great meal. Nice old school family run Italian restaurant. These are slowly disappearing and being replaced by massive chain places serving "Italian" food. This is real deal homemade style cuisine and all the staff speak Italian to each other. Nice. Had one of the best Caprese salads ever...the pesto on it was a game changer! Had our usuals, fettuccine fruiti de mare and my wife had her lasagna that she craves. Excellent as usual, used my bread to mop my plate up, the Italian side of my Chinese upbringing. Made the trip from Vancouver west to come here but worth the trip.

Can't believe we never tried it until recently…read more The interior of the restaurant looks modern. The menu items are very classic Italian. We ordered some sort of tomato calamari appetizer, cioppino, and meatball pasta. They all tasted really good. Very authentic and yummy. Service was quick as well. It is an Italian restaurant so it's not the most affordable but very reasonable price for good Italian food. I think we will become regulars!

Mood lighting and soft music, and nice white table Napkin service. For the price and quality of food..you can't go wrong here. Tons of free parking around too. The sauces weren't thick but light and right. The pasta however was not homemadeC except for the ravioli. The carbonara was a good copycat of the Roman carbonara, but with a bit cream. Nice sorta open kitchen concept, where you see the Italian maestro at work. Looks like an Italian grandpa to be honest. My fav dish was the seafood one with fish and shrimps. It was loaded with generous pieces and finished perfectly with a touch of white wine and vodka sauce. The pesto one was also good. Not too overpowering, with a touch of crème fresh. The burrata was also so good. Freshly made and complimented by a nice drizzle of olive and balsamic. Another winner is the house bread which you can keep in asking for. Hot off the oven and comes with olive oil/balsamic dip. So hearty and good. Service was efficient, although our server seems to be wanting to rush us. Constantly hovering and asking and taking plates away. I get it's the holiday season, but there were so many tables available. I like the location as it's not that far from DT and parking is safe and plentiful. Ambiance is like an old mafia restuarant where Gino is in the back and the soprano is eating right at the table next to you. Yes, i would repeat and try the other entrees. Cheers! Happy eating!

The restaurant looks clean, comfortable, which made me feel relaxed as soon as I walked in. The food was very good and easy to enjoy, even we are not familiar with Italian food. The dishes were well presented and looked fresh. The pasta was cooked nicely, not too soft, and the sauce had a rich and comforting taste. The flavors were balanced and not too heavy, which made the meal enjoyable from start to finish. The service was friendly and attentive. The staff were polite, patient, and helpful when explaining the menu. They made sure everything was okay and did not rush us, which made the dining experience even better. Overall, Claudio's is a great place for a casual meal or a nice dinner with friends or family. It is a good choice if you want to try Italian food in a comfortable and welcoming environment. I would be happy to come back again.

The vibe is inviting without trying too hard, with just the right balance of casual and classy. We tried the Rigatoni Panna E Prosciutto and the Tagliatelle Papalina -- both were absolutely fantastic. The tagliatelle had a silky texture and the sauce was beautifully balanced -- subtle, but packed with flavor. You can tell the pasta is fresh and made with care. Service was attentive and friendly throughout, never rushed, and the staff seemed genuinely happy to be there. The only thing I'd note is that the portion sizes were on the smaller side. That said, the quality and taste more than made up for it. Every bite was worth savoring. Highly recommend for date night or a cozy dinner with close friends. The place was elegant , packed & yet the ambience was soothing & pleasant due to the quietness of the place & low voices of the customers. Our friends had the Wild Boar Pasta, Steak Salad , whilst my wife had the Veg Pasta & I had the Veg Burger. A platter of Focasia bread too was offered with Balsamic Olive oil. All the dishes were excellent in taste & well prepared. I felt the portions of the Pasta's could have been a " shade larger" in quantity. Only Tomato Ketchup was offered with the Burger & I had to ask for Tabasco sauce to spice up the food. There were no Salt or Pepper cellars at the table & on request Salt was provided in a porcelin dish along with the Tabasco Sauce. (I felt a spicer sauce like Matouks etc would have enhanced the taste further . A Desert platter was offered & this was excellent in taste. The service was very good . Prices were on the higher side . The salient feature of the restaurant was the extensive separate Vegetarian Menu which had Starters, Pasta's, Pizza's , Burgers etc. The kitchen was visible through the Glass walls & one could observe the cleanliness & efficiency of the Restaurant. It was such a nice experience the last time that we decided to go again. What a disappointment. We shared the same pasta we had the last time and it was still really good Zio Italiano. For entrees my husband had the pizza special of the day and it was disappointing. We did not care for the taste and the crust was soggy. My husband had roast duck the last time we were there, and it was so good that I decided on it for my entree. Our waitress said that it was served medium rare. Duck breast generally is served medium rare so I didn't have an issue with this. When it came to the table it wasn't just rare it was raw. I couldn't cut it with my knife and I sent it back to the kitchen. I had a caprese salad - very expensive at $19.00. It was good but I've had much better. A man, who I believe was probably the manager came to the table to check on us and apologized for the duck. We shared a creme brulee for dessert. With a bottle of one of the reasonably priced wines at $60.00 our meal with tip was almost $200.00. Definitely not worth the money. It was so different from our last experience. It's unlikely that we would return. I gave it 5* last time. What a difference. It was so much better last time and although the pricing is the same we felt that received value for the money last time.

It was on a specials sheet for Wednesdays. We were here on a Wednesday and they have Mangia Wednesdays specials. This dish was actually on the regual menu as well except that it went by a different name on the regular menu, and also had the addition of broccolini on it in the regular menu. I enjoyed my dish but it didn't have broccolini in it and I'd have enjoyed it more with broccolini. We ordered some Tiramisu and Affogato for dessert. My family and I went for lunch on a Saturday, and I was surprised to see that we were the only table when we walked in. We were greeted warmly, and upon recommendation, we ordered the freshly squeezed orange juice. It was absolutely delicious, like sunshine in a cup. Bolstered, we proceeded to order the rest of our meal. For appies, we had meatballs, caprese salad, and garlic bread. The meatballs were dense yet tender, and the tomato sauce they were sitting in was perfectly balanced. The caprese was solid, nothing mind-blowing but it was fresh and tasty! For mains, we had the prawn risotto and scallop pasta. We spent the whole meal debating which one we liked more, because they were both top notch. The prawns in the risotto were not a touch over or underdone, and the pasta was savory and fragrant. I like the savoriness the almonds gave it. Even though we were stuffed, we couldn't resist ordering dessert. The passion fruit panna cotta and the lemon sorbet were the perfect way the cap off the meal.
