I was very surprised at the quality of the Capt'n Oven pizza. Very solid, tasty, great chewy dough with a crisp. It's hard to give a 5 star rating but their reputation is obvious as they are very popular with excellent reviews so I must go 5 stars. Any less would feel wrong. The service was excellent too. They were friendly, very nice and accommodating. The atmosphere is tight in the dining area but that ok. Most people are in n out or taking it to go. Great lunch near the hospital or very worthy pizza night for your family. I doubt you'll find better in this area. read more

Which gave me major decision paralysis. I was stuck between their fisherman's pizza with crab and smoked salmon and the Mexican picante. I got the superb soprasetta: it has some spice but it sweet at the same time with their honey glaze. The chefs special sure was special, with Alfredo sauce and heaping portions of mushroom, I thought I was eating pasta. Also, the pizza is cooked in a beautiful brick oven imported from Italy. The Mexican picante was good but I'd suggest trying out some other flavors first. The food is average, but it's extremely difficult getting into the restaurant. The door is really heavy if you have mobility issues good luck plus there's a ladder right by the doorway with big sandwich, signs! INSIDE! in the way of getting to the restaurant to order! Plus scary stairs near the door, so it's very tricky to navigate entering the restaurant. It took several minutes for the staff to notice me trying to get in to assist. Rather than open the door for me right away they directed me to the office building and the electric doors were out of order on the weekend so yeah it was very frustrating to have to wait 10 minutes to get into the restaurant. I asked them NOT to block the entrance so I could leave when I want. Nope didn't listen to me. They put the sandwich boards right back in the way blocking the entrance so I couldn't leave. This caused a bit of an argument, because there was no way this woman was gonna listen to logic. I ordered my pizza. This is must be a be a fire hazard, to block the door. On my way out I suggested they get a disabled door opener to make it easier for everybody. Nope she disagreed with that point too. I probably won't be going back because it's extremely bad service and discriminatory to have the entrance inaccessible. read more

Came here for lunch after a long morning of shopping! Found place via yelp (of course) The inside is cute but also somewhat small. I would say they can fit about 20-25 people inside sitting maybe. There is probably like 4-5 tables averaging in size. Tons of choices of pizza, from the pretty basic everyday pizza to around the globe pizza! I ordered the feisty Indian. Sooooo good! With the Tika masala sauce. Yummm and my sisters ordered the Hawaiian and pepperoni. There's was petty greasy due to the pepperoni but they said it was tasty. A MUST VISIT! I am so glad to have stumbled upon this place as I searched for good pizza around Surrey. The place is situated in the Surrey Central area, close to Surrey Memorial Hospital. The moment you step in, the whiff of pizza cooking from the brick oven hits you, and pretty soon, you want to order everything and anything from there. On our first visit, we tried the captains special, which was like a supreme pizza, and it was absolutely delicious! It was then that we knew this would be a joint we would frequent. That's where things started downhill. The address listed right here on Yelp isn't accurate! First time for me. After following Google and driving into residential neighborhoods twice we stopped and called for the accurate address. FYI - it's 9639 137A St. paid $28 for a large 3 topping. Italian sausage, onion and mushroom. The crust was burned quite badly on 1/2 the pizza. The crust was tough. Like hard to chew tough. We won't be back. Maybe delivered hot, it could have been better but we won't be giving them another chance. Edit: I'm updating my review. The owner called and apologized over and over. I had ordered 6 medium pizza's from them for the office, and got great feedback from the staff. I had ordered one each of Vegetarian, Margherita, Pepperoni, Pancetta, Mediterranean, and Meat lovers. I had a slice each of the Margherita, and Vegetarian pizzas. Between the two, I liked the Margherita pizza more. The sauce and cheese works well together, and the little bursts of tomato gave it extra flavor kicks. They were like little flavor bombs hidden throughout the pizza. Even tho I didn't get to try the other pizzas, the general feed back was positive. The staff seemed to really enjoy the pizzas. There was none left by the end of the meeting! The variety is awesome and the taste of the toppings equally excellent. But the crusts are nothing but pathetic. For me a delicious substantial chewy crust is absolutely vital. These crusts are as thin as a sheet of paper you're hard pressed to even see it. They're also tastless & of course not filling the way a good pizza should be. As well their size of a large is at best a medium. These are expensive pizzas with an almost non existent crust that has NO flavor or substance. At best they were a terrible disappointment. Wow, I totally get why this place has stellar reviews. The pizza is amazing! We got a large Meat Lovers and a large Chicken Pesto and I was surprised by how big the pizzas were. They certainly do not skimp on their pizzas. Not only that, but the pizzas themselves were absolutely delicious.
