I ordered a chai latte and it was a bit underwhelming. I prefer a chai latte with a strong aromatic punch of cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and clove spices that this chai latte lacked. Instead, it tasted like tea watered down with frothy milk. Service was fast and efficient. The ambiance of the cafe was really nice and modern. There was plenty of seating available and free wifi. Parking on the plaza can be a bit challenging as it is a very busy plaza. I had to drive a couple laps to find a parking spot.

Great coffee shop in the Cloverdale area, friendly staff with lots of room for seating. The interior is clean and spacious with great drinks to boot. I didn't have a chance to try their food but will have to do that next time.

Interior is what i liked the best. Unlike casual coffee house , this cafe has very formal appearance. Not bad at all as the whole plaza where its located has some serious businesses like service canada , notary public offices around.lol I have visited this plaza on many occasions and the cafe would be closed so thats how i know that the hours of this cafe are limited but to my surprise its open from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm almost every weekday and weekends until 9:30 pm. Maybe changed recently or it's temporary because of corona virus. I don't know. All i know is that they have yummy food. Few choices of lunch or dinner like salads, wraps, bowls but unique to its core. Very much everything is house made. I loved the currey chicken coconut bowl which i could customized with either quinoa or brown rice. Very light taste of turmeric but didn't feel coconut milk or taste in it. Even otherwise it was yummy fragrant with turmeric. They even have fresh grinder to grind the coffee for you. The retail of this store also have store swag or store labeled items like water bottles, tea mugs , t shirts and caps to purchase. The seating is comfortable as there are big lounge chairs to sit. Middle area in front of open kitchen is high chair counter or coffee bar. The other side is some more seating. Overall its good experience as long as you are hungry or decaf female.

Inside is beautiful, very simplistic and lots of little decorations. I got a smoothie which was expensive for the size but was good. I got the coconut turmeric chicken bowl which was beautifully presented and very yummy. Lots of flavour, would recommend. My friend got an iced vanilla latte and said it is really good but also a bit expensive. Chipotle chicken wrap is good but might be a little boring if she did not add avocado. Overall good experience, no one in the cafe seeemed that excited or happy to be there but it's ok I brought my own positive vibes. Would come here again maybe at breakfast time so I can try those options.

This little cafe is perfect! So much natural light and lots of space to cozy in to do your work. You don't need to go downtown to find "blogger style, aesthetically pleasing" cafe! This spot has lots of options for food, snacks, drinks (hot & cold). They make the chai they way I like it!! It's with a tea bag and not that powder stuff they use at Starbucks. Highly recommend this place, it's a cute spot to meet for a catch up date with a friend! (Their couches are so comfy )

Given the pandemic, I would've thought they'd enhance the cleanliness and provide above and beyond service, but no. The service was mediocre and they gave us the dirtiest utensils (see photo). We asked for a new set AND SAME PROBLEM. Never returning.

This place is seriously a gem in this area. It's a very cool cafe with lots of delicious breakfast and lunch options. Plus bonus points for the study/work friendly and bright environment. I could literally spend my entire day working and eating here. I'm so in love with their bowls and salads. They are healthy, not greasy, and combination options are endless with the protein add-ons and different sauces. All of their sauces are homemade. I also really like the hot sauces on the side. My one complaint is that portions could be slightly bigger especially for the salads and sandwiches. The price doesn't justify the portion size. Also you can add a soup to a sandwich for $2.99 but if you wanted to get the same side soup along a full salad then it's $3.99. I hope they change that cause it doesn't make sense. All I want would be a better priced soup-salad combo.

As soon as I walked in, I wanted to give this place 5 stars, as their decor was so simple and comforting. However, my experience changed my mind. I really wanted to support this local business, especially since it is rare to find any cute cafes to hit up in Surrey... but a lot of things disappointed me. First off, the lady helping us did not like her job - it was clear. It was dead inside on a Saturday afternoon and she barely made any eye contact with us. She did not smile at us at all, and she did not give out a good vibe, which is the opposite of what I expect from someone working in a cafe. I don't mean to sound harsh, but baristas are usually very friendly at other cafes I've been to. Anyways, yes the decor is pretty and they have a variety of menu items. However, the menu items are not really fairly priced. We paid about 30 dollars for a chicken quesadilla, a chicken sandwich, and an oatmeal cocoa smoothie. It took a while for the food to come out. All the items we ordered were delicious. The food was piping hot, which I really appreciated. The flavours were all also very good. The guacamole that came with the quesadilla was just alright - needed salt. The chicken sandwich came on fresh sour dough bread, which is what made the sandwich so great. I was very disappointed with the portion sizes. The quesadilla barley had anything in it, and I probably could have eaten two of those chicken sandwiches on my own. It's definitely not a "bang for your buck" kind of place. They need to consider reducing their prices or increasing the portion sizes. They also lacked in plating their menu items. The sandwich came on an ENORMOUS plate - made the sandwich seem even smaller than it really was. I was also expecting the cafe to be more clean, considering how new it is. However, there were a lot of flies in the open kitchen as well as dust and food residue left on tables. I was quite disappointed with the owners' lack of cleanliness, especially considering we went on a weekend and it was completely dead. I don't know if I'll be back, which is unfortunate because I was initially very excited about a new coffee shop close to home.

Super in love with this cute+fresh coffeehouse in Surrey. I was in the area and figured I could do some work if there was a decent coffeehouse around and voila! The interior design is on point, the space has a ton of natural light, decent amount of space and I love how they really maximized on each square footage. You've got a comfy seating area in the from and the back and sandwiched in between you have a high bar-top and then a pod of tables great for opening up your laptop for studying or work. Also, the baked goods and pasteries displayed are super appealing and the food menu is also very attractive. They use all the right buzzwords that pique your interest and make you want to try everything! I had the couscous salad with a citrus dressing and a side order of the soup of the day (corn and jalapeno). Everything tasted fresh & clean and made with intention and care. Even the way the walnuts were perfectly and evenly seasoned and placed on the plate...it all made sense and made me so very happy. I will note that some people might order what I did and think it's a little under-seasoned, but as a person who appreciates food in its fresh state, I had no complaints. You want to add stronger seasoning you can add condiments from their condiment bar or ask for salt. I'm super pleased I found this coffeehouse and definitely want to come back often!

This cafe is not that great. The service is okay, the food is overpriced because it's not all that compared to the price. I've been here a few times over the years because this cafe is close to my house and it's never been amazing, or even just okay. The iced chai latte pictured tastes like water, and even after they gave it back to me after I told them it still tastes like water. Don't waste your time, and go somewhere else.

Pretty sweet place! Love the vibes... It's a great cozy place to come get work done, meet up with friends, etc. What little bit I tried of their food was actually kinda bland... But their Almond Milk Matcha Latte (my usual) was pretty good.

There were quite a few empty tables and the place felt pretty relaxed. I was doing a bit of work and ended up staying a little longer than the 90-minute table limit. One of the staff members came up to us and said, "Hey, you guys have been here longer than 90 minutes. You'll have to leave soon." I told him that was fine and asked if I could just finish my coffee. He said okay, but then about a minute later he came back with a to-go cup and said, "Here you go, you guys can leave now." Honestly, that caught me off guard. Especially since it wasn't busy and there were still plenty of open tables. During my first visit, Jimmy went above and beyond to make sure everything was great, and I don't think he would have handled it that way. The coffee is still great and I really like the space, but this experience definitely made me think twice about coming back.

During my last trip to Surrey, I made sure to stop by and fill up on caffeine and pastries. This location looks like an Apple Store from the outside with a modern glass exterior and minimalistic interior. From what my friends have told me, this location is much larger than their Downtown Vancouver location. Upon entering, the first thing I saw was Nemesis' vibrant colored boxes nicely lined up on a table next to the window for purchase in addition to merch (shirts, mugs, etc.) featuring their simplistic upside down blue heart logo. They switch out the coffee varieties on a regular basis, and so make sure to check their site first if you are looking for a certain bean! After perusing the merch, I made my way to the line and was captivated by the fancy high-end pastries in the glass counter. The company that makes the pastries is called Dope and they had everything from cookies to croissants to cakes and crullers. Prices were reasonable and I paid under $20 USD for four pastries. They had unique flavors including: strawberry & pistachio danish, tiramisu croissant, churro cruller, iced cap cruller, apple hojicha fritter, ube donut, and more. Like the Nemesis packaging, the Dope pastry boxes were art pieces on their own and probably the prettiest to-go boxes I've ever seen; they are a bright vibrant blue with their signature smile and tongue character logo and metallic writing. They literally look like designer shoe boxes. Nemesis features two seasonal drinks at a time, but they don't offer any flavored drinks otherwise and so if you're looking for a basic vanilla latte, this is not the place. The two seasonal drinks they were featuring in February were the Beet Root Latte and the Black Sesame Corn Latte (no coffee in this one though). Personally, neither quite appealed to me and so I just ordered a basic OAT MILK LATTE sweetened with simple syrup (you could alternatively get it sweetened with honey). The espresso was smooth and the oat milk was nice and creamy. To share with my family, I also ordered the... - APPLE HOJICHA FRITTER ($4.75 CAN) - as someone who doesn't normally like donuts, this fritter was the best fritter I've ever had and definitely on the not-to-sweet side. It was crunchy on the outside, chewy on the inside, and full of apple pieces, apple spiced compote, and cinnamon. The hojicha dusting was subtle but added a nice slight earthiness to the pastry. I liked this pastry so much, I ended up ordering another one later on! - The ICED CAP CRULLER ($4.75 CAN) - this cruller was also fantastic and full of espresso flavor. The espresso cream filling and the condensed milk glaze were delicious and tasted like I was eating a Vietnamese coffee. 10/10 would get this again! - BROWN BUTTER BANANA CAKE ($5.75 CAN) - this cake was super moist and had a beautiful piping of cinnamon espresso buttercream on top. I'd say this one was the least unique of the pastries I ordered, but was a solid slice of banana bread and the buttercream was smooth and light. - CHOCOLATE ORANGE SUISSE ($7.50 CAN) - this pastry was the most interesting texture-wise as it has a crispy exterior that reminded me of chowmein noodles, wrapped around a croissant. The candied orange was very distinct and could be tasted in both the chocolate orange filling and the outside. While the most expensive of the pastries (probably because of the extra labor it takes for this one), I thoroughly enjoyed every bite and would order this one again too. The seating areas and bathrooms are clean. Service is excellent- we got our orders within 10 minutes after ordering and they come by to give you water and silverware as needed. TLDR, Nemesis is 1000% worth the stop and I can't wait to be back whenever I am in Surrey next. Overall, 5/5 for coffee and pastries, 5/5 for service, 5/5 for atmosphere

The restaurant is beautiful with both Indian and Japanese design sensibilities. They have a table service restaurant with both high tea and an extensive a la carte menu, and it looks like you can also buy mithai in bulk. The food isn't really Japanese-Indian fusion as you might expect, but more like Japanese impression of Indian food, if that makes sense? There's a few hints of Japanese and Asian influence, but the menu is mostly modern Indian. All vegetarian. There's no vegan or gluten free options for afternoon tea, but the a la carte menu includes many clearly labeled vegan and GF dishes. I wanted to try the afternoon tea set to get a wide sampling of their offerings. The set included: corn spinach puff, paneer tikka slider, cream cheese cucumber sandwich, samosa, chutneys for dipping, manchurian skewers, orange cranberry scone with whipped cream, rose rasmalai cake, dodha crunch, motichoor cheesecake parfait, and the choice between masala chai, coffee, or hot/iced caffe latte. It's $32/person for the set, which is a great price. I also appreciated that it was possible to order the set for just one person since it seems like many teahouses will only do it for 2+ people. I thought all of the items in the set were pretty good, and there was a balance between the sweet and savoury items. The only things that really left anything to be desired were that the scone was a bit dry and crumbly, and I thought the tandoori paneer could have been more flavourful. In general the flavours of the savoury items were a bit more subtle than in typical authentic Indian food, but for the most part it didn't come across as bland to me, just a different take on it. The standouts in the set were: the paneer slider - even if the paneer itself didn't impress, I loved the almost flaky texture of the pav - the manchurian, and the rose rasmalai cake. Also, the cream cheese cucumber sandwich had cilantro or chutney or something in the cream cheese which made it much more interesting than the plain version of this sandwich. The masala chai (my chosen drink) was also very good. It was served in a pot that contained 2 small servings. My waiter was very friendly and stopped by a few times to check in. When I was done eating and wanted my bill, it was easy to get his attention. I visited at what seemed like a quiet time so I didn't have much competition for attention. One thing that I thought was odd was when he gave me the machine to pay, there was no tip option - it would be cool if they had a no-tip policy, but I never saw any mention of it, so I wonder if he accidentally bypassed the tip when putting in my charge. It was an interesting and very pleasant experience. I was so curious about this place that I made a trip out from Vancouver just to try it (and couldn't get anyone willing to go to Surrey for afternoon tea with me, hence the afternoon tea order for one), and it was worth the trip!
