Walked in at 10:30 on a Sunday and got a table right away! They have gluten free options which I really appreciated even if it is a dollar more to sub for gluten free bread. Wait staff was accommodating of dietary restrictions. Side of fruit came with one slice of orange one slice of watermelon and one slice of cantaloupe. That is not listed on the menu so if you have dietary restrictions surrounding those things definitely request the swap before hand or have a buddy with you who can eat them! It wasn't handled the best for me and left me feeling a bit bummed out but ya live and ya learn. Definitely a bit of a smaller diner vibe with plenty of outdoor seating. There was also a few open parking spots when we got here so parking was not an issue. read more

Asked about seating on patio with our . Which they allow and there were other patrons with their furry friends seated outside as well. They provide water for your pooch too! The menu has changed since new ownership and chef. Much greater variety and in a good way. We were seated on the patio which was spacious and had a nice back yard relaxing feel. Made the dining experience More relaxed and calm. I ordered the Westcoast seafood chowder which was delicious. Good proportions of seafood in the soup and good consistency and texture. I love chowder and this was a good one! The Philly cheese I ordered was packed with cheese as the cheese pull was amazing. Beef could be a bit more tender/ smaller cuts as was a bit hard to bite off but overall still good. Au jus was nice and salty soaked into the bread harmonized and evened it out. I also ordered a side of beef gravy for my fries and it was good thickness and taste. Wife had a Benny with fried chicken on it. I had a small taste and it was good as well. The owner is very nice and made sure at the end to take our comments and feedback. She seems very keen to make her business successful and customers happy. I found the food delicious and service good! Definitely would recommend. read more

My partner and I decided to try this place yesterday during the stat holiday. Since Holiday hours weren't online we figured we'd just check it out in person. When we arrived we checked the door which did not mention Holiday hours and it was unlocked. When we stepped inside there was a younger girl and an older woman working. As soon as we stepped inside we were greeted with "Do you see the vibe in here?" Confused my partner and I just paused silently before the woman followed up with "The closed vibe?" I responded saying okay that's fine, but that was quite rude. We have no issues going somewhere else. As we walked to our car the woman followed us out stating she was just joking around with us. Her tone gave no indication of joking nor is that a polite way to greet anyone let alone a customer. It's totally fine to turn people away when a store is closed but I suggest in the future you should rethink how you greet people and turn them away. Suggestions: 1. Post Holiday hours 2. Lock the door. read more

Had brunch there for the 1st time, the brunch menu is pretty good with a good variety for vegan diet. Service is friendly & good. A little too good, kept wanting to clear out plates... Nice layout of the restaurant, there's a covered patio that is nicely heated. Food was good, the Egg Bennys were good, they even have a vegan option for Eggs Benny. Nice place for brunch. It gets busy so get there early. The parking lot is very tight so if you have a big vehicle, it is hard to back out of a parking spot as you may hit their patio deck. The portion size is decent, they have an open kitchen you see them making the food. read more

We were feeling spontaneous and decided to try Bruncheria which was close by. The food was pretty good and the servers were very friendly, but forgetful. We asked for coffee with sugar, cream and milk and when it was brought over, they asked again what we wanted for our coffee which they ended up giving us sugar and milk. When our orders arrived, my friend was confused about hers because it was a waffle sandwich with fried chicken in sweet and sour sauce which she didn't order. We looked around for the waiter and the table across from us mentioned they think the waffle sandwich dish was theirs and that they had my friend's. They ended up switching plates and we had a chuckle about it. Lastly, when we asked for the bill, we asked for it to be split. A few moments later, the server came back with one bill and asked if we wanted it split because they couldn't remember (it was literally 10 seconds ago). Overall, the food was tasty, service was friendly, exterior decor was beautiful and cozy feeling. I would come back, but the service could be a bit better with remembering our orders or what we ask for. read more

First time here and was very happy with our lunch visit. The place was a bit busy for a lunch hour on Monday but got seated right away. The place had a very huge patio space to dine out and not understaffed. Staff were very friendly and food waiting time is not bad. I had the Breakfast Sandwich and it was very good and delicious. The house-made brioche bun made a difference in overall taste of the sandwich. The french fries were also very hot and crispy. I am recommending this place to try and will definitely go back here. read more

Unfortunately this brunch was disappointing. I ordered a meal from a plastic menu that was about $20+ We were basically sitting in a patio section in the parking lot. When my food came it didn't really make sense. It needed toast but I never got toast because the server didn't return for like an hour. She just brung the food and took off until it was done. There was a lot of bright colours and although it looked good visually the flavours didn't go well together at all. Combining the eggs with avocado with smoked salmon was a failure. The flavours just clashed. There was only about one bite worth of salad on the plate and 3 grapes. Why? After sitting there for quite a long time the server finally came to pick up our dishes and asked us how everything was. I said "not good." She asked me "why? " I said "it was a weird mix of flavours." Not to mention I didn't get any toast for my eggs because she completely ignored our table. Also she obviously should've asked me that question a few minutes into the meal instead of a long time after the meal. She then sent out the owner who tried to bribe me with dessert. I said "no thanks" but she insisted I stay. I left anyways. They didn't comp the meal and they didn't give us a discount. The owner sent me home with an orange juice. Cheap! In summary the meal was a odd mix of flavours, the service was bad, it cost too much for what it was and the owner made things awkward. I just wanted to leave. read more

This is a nice place for a breakfast with major old-school diner vibes. You have to walk through the kitchen to get to your table, and they played 80's classics the whole time. Brunch Bowl - 7/10 - two poached eggs, hollandaise, potatoes, mushrooms, bell peppers, bok Choy, carrots, Brussel Sprouts, farmers sausage, country ham, and a side of guacamole. Seemed a bit vegetable heavy when I got it, but everything was really well cooked and spiced! Sweet N' Spicy Crispy Chicken Waffle Sandwich - 9/10 - Their take on a chicken and waffles dish. The chicken was incredibly flavourful and well spiced, which balanced really well with the syrup. The experience also included complimentary doughnuts with our coffee! They started closing after we sat in... which must explain why it is empty. This food is GOOD! The Filipinos here are friendly, funny and attentive. Good prices (starts at $14.50) with lots of add-ons and extras (in case you want ALL the breakfast meats...) The cabbage slaw in the burger was so fresh and crunchy, the avocado was plenty (couldn't finish it) with loads of fries. The customer service was great. The waiters were really kind. As for the food. I Was not a fan. I ordered the avocado toast and it was a huge disappointment. The bread was lightly toasted and soggy due to cup of pico dumped on it. The avocado was just chillen on the side. I also asked for no pico and the waiter asked to take it off but it was fine. Seeing what I got, if there was no pico it would just be sliced avocado on bread with no love. The eggs were oily and absolutely no seasoning. Potatoes are frozen and taste okay, no love there. $19 for that plate is not worth it at all. The Benedict was okay nothing crazy. Overall wouldn't come back. read more

Bruncheria has been on my list ever since they opened. I noticed on their website that it was take-out only, regardless, a friend and I decided to stop by for a Saturday brunch. Bruncheria is situated right on Columbia Street, with ample outdoor seating for you to enjoy your breakfast or lunch. They're offering 15% off if you order online, what a steal! The menu is extensive and so hard to choose from! I ordered the breakfast sandwich - a super soft bun, cheese, scrambled egg, bacon and their signature brunch sauce. Oh myyy was it good!! Soft and chewy, full of flavor and on the perfect bun! My friend got the egg grilled cheese and loved it too! The service was so sweet, a cute little mom and pop shop with plenty of regular customers. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area! read more

Oh no :( they just changed their menu and passed from feeling like a clean, energetic and full of flavor + energy brunch to a greasy, heavy and plain one. Portions have always been big but they used to feel thoughtful and made with love now they feel rushed and unbalanced. Great place to get breakfast or lunch in New West! It's on Columbia, so it's super easy to get to, although parking can be a challenge on weekends. We arrived for brunch at 2pm on Sunday (I'm not the quickest in the morning). There was no wait so we got seated right away. The staff were really nice and friendly. I liked that they immediately brought us a jug of water, as I always end up asking for water anyways. The menu is a pretty decent size, with lots of veggie and vegan options. Prices seemed a bit high in my opinion, but the quality of our food was really good. We didn't have to wait long for our brunch either. I got the Avocado Toast with Poached Eggs and my friend got the Vegan Grilled Cheese, both were great. Nicely presented and big portions as well. I couldn't even finish mine. Overall it was a good experience, it might just be the best place to get brunch in New West. read more

Good moooooorning, taste buds! I haven't had a chance to stop by in-person yet, but after wanting to try out their food since they opened the new location I decided it was time to order in. I chose the reasonably priced Eggs Benedict with spicy smoked salmon. I love a smoked salmon eggs benny and I also love spicy, so it only made sense! The homestyle hashbrowns went for a bit of a ride during delivery, so presentation wasn't all that good. However, they are light and crispy with a nice amount of seasoning. As for the eggs benny, YUM. The spicy sauce is a nice compliment and really wakes you up. The addition of jalapeno slices might be a bit much for some, but I totally enjoyed it. The prices are realistic and the portions adequate for most appetites. I'll be visiting them in-person soon enough to get a full sense of what they are like. read more

Vegans are always looking for a killer brunch place and we've found the place. Bruncheria offers so many options for most dietary restrictions and I am loving it! Come early because this place gets hella busy. Basic breakfast plates are super reasonable but with their abundant available add-ons, my $11.50 breakfast was over $20. I ordered the vegan breakfast wrap with tofu and "bacon". I added vegetables (think chunks of real vegetables including brussle sprouts) and avocado and hot sauce (super ridiculous to add Franks hot sauce for $2.50). Food came super fast and piping hot. Food was delicious and incredibly filling. The issue we had was with the bee/wasp issue (which they know about). The bees wouldn't leave us alone and the staff don't have any options to resolve this. One of our guest stood the whole breakfast because the bee wouldn't leave her chicken sandwich plate. Definitely check out this place (be prepared for line). Awesome addition to New West read more

Wonderful and I mean over the top fantastic service. Cody was our server and even made a balloon animal for my friend. We sat on the patio and he made sure to move the umbrella for me so that I didn't get the sun shining in my face the entire time. Our food came relatively quickly and was so delicious. Had the Eggs and Meat dish, I was craving the protein. Subbed a few items and ordered a mimosa to go alongside. Everything was delicious and well worth the price. In-house made brioche bun was so good and the eggs were made to order. Great atmosphere everyone who worked there was friendly and checking on us all the time. We've been super excited to try this brunch place after a mediocre experience at the other place that serves brunch down the street. We finally made it here around 12:45pm on a cold Saturday and managed to snag the last available spot, at the communal table. The decor is very hipster and minimal which was nice; I'm here for the food and don't really care for too much decoration on the inside. We had to wait a while for our server to come around, to the point where we weren't sure if we were supposed to order at the till, cafeteria style. However, a server eventually came by and took our orders, and then the wait began. Our first sign that the wait would be long was when 80% of the tables had table number signs but no food. Sure enough, we ended up waiting about 45 minutes before our food arrived. Most people around us ordered sandwiches, but my boyfriend and I opted for the Eggs and Meat and the Brunch Bowl with a large orange juice. For the time we waited, I expected my food to come out piping hot but unfortunately it was just warm. I was extremely disappointed that the potatoes tasted like they were overcooked/sitting for a while (room temp), the pulled pork was flavoured well but warm, and the bacon was overcooked as well (though I do prefer my bacon less crispy). The hottest thing on my dish were the eggs, which were cooked perfectly. My boyfriend felt the sausages could have been sliced thicker, and while his food was ok, it was definitely not $20 worthy. And, a glass of orange juice was around $7... for a standard sized glass. Overall, the food was very average but it was overpriced. Perhaps we ordered the wrong things since everyone else ordered sandwiches, which may have been more of a bang for your buck selection. We will not be returning. read more

We ordered a couple of sandwiches and burritos (wraps) via DoorDash and they were both delicious. One suggestion for restaurant would be to add a bit more sauce in the wraps since they felt a little dry. We also got the fresh-squeezed orange juice (tasty!) and iced Spanish latte (also good, but no idea what makes it "Spanish" or different from a regular iced latte in any way). read more

This place was hoppin with a long waiting line when I came through on a Sunday afternoon. For a new business in the area they seem to be doing pretty good and everything I saw come out was "Instagram worthy" if you're into that... But I came to try "the best sandwich ever" and it definitely was pretty darn good... And so big I had it for two meals! The chicken was meaty and crispy, loved the fried egg and bacon, aioli on crisp ciabatta... so good even hours later. The space is not too big but seems like they could use some more help with turning over tables and flow and such - some of the workers looked a lil frazzled but all in all, it is a solid spot and would definitely venture back here and maybe try the sandwich that had strawberries on it... :9 read more

Double review here...so I've split it at 3/5 I've had the breakfast sandwich before and it was really quite good and excellent value. Today I tried a breakfast bowl...I wanted to like it, but it was bland, the pulled pork was odd tasting, and the water from the perfectly poached eggs soaked my hash browns. Hollandaise was flavourless....too bad. Ultimately it was inedible aside from the eggs. Anyhow - the pulled chicken and pulled pork that seems to come with everything isn't necessary...doesn't quite fit in with anything. Seems kind of boil in bag...meh. read more

Used table agent to make a reservation (via their own website) for a Friday at 5pm for 4 people. First couple tries, an error popped up. I called in to ask what was going on online and the person I spoke to said she didn't know and apologized. Not even 5 minutes later, they called back and the same person I was talking to said that she spoke to the manager and he said that bc we were still in the month of May, I would have to wait until the month I wanted a reso for (which was June) to make any reservations. About a week later (still in May) I tried again to make a reso and it let me. Fast forward to the date I made a reso for, I drive by and there are pylons blocking anyone from getting into the parking lot. I park on a side street and decide to walk up to the building to read any signs. I see a guy (possibly the manager) closing up and he said they're closed. I said I had a reso for 5pm and he said they closed at 3. I asked why I was able to make a reso for 5pm if they closed at 3pm and he didn't say anything. I left and met my friends elsewhere. Overall, kinda dumb that the employees and management don't really know how table agent works and clearly they haven't submitted correct info to them so it wouldn't allow people to make reso's when they're closed. read more

Quality ingredients make a delicious meal. Bruncheria uses the best ingredients in a cafeteria style setting. Self serve saves money. I'm glad they changed to fit the community. People were complaining that menu prices were ttoo high sso the owners listened and made a change! The food is great and the coffee is perfect. If you have a problem with foggy windows, what is your problem? Some of ouR buildings in New West are historic and have single pane windows. Get over yourself. Bruncheria is worth your time. Nice patio in the summer. Food is okay. However, service is pretty sad. Ordered prosecco, they served it with a STRAW. I had to tell the server "no straw, it's WINE". Also, they left us sitting with our dirty plates for over 10 minutes WHILE CLEANING DIRTY TABLES NO ONE WAS SITTING AT. Absolutely awful service. The people working there are not servers, they seem like insecure teenagers from other countries who have no idea what they're doing. It's also terribly overpriced. Won't go back. read more

It used to be pretty good, americano and latte were on pointe, pulled pork benny and pancakes were legit. Even though they were charging more expensive than some of the downtown cafes back then, I'd still go every now and then if I don't want to venture out to downtown. But not too long ago, they change their entire business model and setup. Menu was reduced significantly, price was way cheaper now too, but they only served food in take out containers now, even if you eat in. The regular drip coffee was absolutely tasteless, they don't even have americano and latte anymore. Everything was just so bare bone, no frills style. I feel bad for the owner, as his vision of the business couldn't come to fruition, and had to adapt to a cheap fast take-out style that many people tend to prefer in New West. I guess when I crave for a good brunch in New West, I just have to head to Angelina. read more

Ordered take out from here and was full, but not really satisfied with my meal. I had the perfect vegan brunch bowl and it was filling, especially with the crispy potatoes. However, I thought some of the things lacked seasoning. The pulled jackfruit had plenty of flavour, but the tofu scramble could have used a little bit of salt. There was a good variety with the roasted vegetables, but I wish they had more flavour. There was plenty of smashed avocado, but it could have used some acidity and salt. Overall, it was a good breakfast bowl with lots of variety, but felt a little lacking. I understand that maybe the other items were a bit underseasoned to go with the flavourful jackfruit to balance it out. So together it worked, but individually it wasn't as tasty. read more
