Have been coming to this place for years. While upon entering, it may look like a seated situation, it's actually a 'Order at the front and seat yourself and we will bring you your food' situation. I've tried many of their brunch options over the years. Longanisa burger, brisket hash bowl, chorizo hash bowl, chicken and waffles to name a few but what really stands out here are their sides of crispy potatoes. The potatoes are twice cooked so they were perfectly crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. Definitely the perfect kind of potato I'd love for brunch but rarely ever find! Sad to say we had a really sub par experience here today. We went in around 11 on a Wednesday, it was clean and inviting which was nice, and totally dead inside. I've never been a big fan of the format of the restaurant. It's a sit down establishment but you order and pay at the counter like a cafeteria. It's annoying because you're expected to tip before your food arrives, so what exactly are you basing it on? We both had breakfast bowls, I ordered mine with the meatless bratwurst, and hubby had his basically minus all the veg. A drip coffee is $4 which feels pretty spendy for a drip coffee. Our food arrived pretty quick, however his order was wrong. Asked for no onions but it was chock full. He painstakingly picked them out as he didn't want to send it back. Each bowl was around $23 and yet only came with one poached egg on top. Again, pretty spendy for a breakfast bowl and only one egg. The food itself was a good sized portion and quite delicious. Save for the onions we didn't ask for. The service was lack luster, I had to get up and ask for coffee refills (the cups are very small) and the cream and sugar come in little plastic cups which felt super wasteful. Then the real shock came at the end of the meal when I asked for the rest of my food to-go. The server informed me that it was .25¢ for a takeout container and that they don't take cash. So I was expected to tap my card for .25¢ for a cost that absolutely should not be put onto the customer. Extra bag, utensils, etc. I could understand but I was being made to pay for taking the food home that I couldn't finish from an already overpriced meal (total with tax and tip was close to $70). Really left a bad taste in my mouth. It's a shame because the food was really great, but I definitely won't be back. read more

What a lovely place that a friend recommended as her all-time favourite. Went wanting the adobo but alas, I missed the seasonal special. Delighted to have ordered the beef brisket hash bowl - oh my goodness, kids and I agreed that the potatoes were out-of-this-world amazing. Chicken and waffles were a bit spicy for my little guy, so we've agreed that next time he order the kids waffle since he didn't finish his meal (but we took it home). Ordered the kids hash bowl and that was just perfect for my older kid. Took the honey butter from chicken and waffles home and it was amazing on freshly baked challah I made in my breadmaker. Restaurant seats 24; bathroom is through the bowling alley. Big space on that side of the restaurant that isn't currently being used. Hope that can turn into something later on. read more

This is a great brunch place. It is attached to the bowling alley so the place isn't that big. We were lucky as we got a table just before a large crowd arrived. You do go up and order your foodz then they bring it to you. I got the brisket sandwich and my wife got the chorizo hash. The brisket was so tender and juicy, that eat bite, I didn't have to struggle to separate the meat. It is a lot tender than other places as sometimes you get the tough part where it is stringy. The hash was big and the chorizo was also tender. Of course, it had a hint of heat with eat bite but it went well with the items underneath it. There is a good amount of parking available as long as there are no parties or bowling tournaments going on. read more

10/10, everything was amazing. Servers were the best, we had a big group of 12 and were okay with being seated separately but the servers made it happen! They really didn't have to do that but we appreciate it sooo much. Then came the food, the potatoes were the best I've ever eaten. So crispy and light and flavorful! The eggs Benedict had interesting flavors that it made me feel like I was eating super healthy. The chicken and waffles? I need the secret to how it was fried! This was my last meal in Canada for a trip and wow, I wish I could eat it everyday. I need to try the whole menu! read more

You know you're in a 5/5 star eatery when you end up going 4 times in 1 month. This Filipino fusion brunch spot has hit all the notes when it comes to comfort food. My sister had heard some great things about Morning Tide Eatery, and since I was in the area I decided to try it out. Firstly, go check out the menu, either online or scan the QR code on the tables. Then go up to the front and place your order and pay. If you're dining in on the weekend, then go early or at a slower time maybe around 2. Put your name down and they'll give you a call when seats are available. Weekdays are pretty easy and less busy, from 10AM-3PM. Unfortunately they close on Mondays and Tuesdays. They have take out via Skip the Dish if you don't plan on eating in. What I've/my family have tried on several occasions: Longanisa Hand Held (Single patty) $16 Brisket Hand Held $17 Brisket Bowl $19 Spicy Fried Chicken Sandwich $16.50 Kids bowl $10 Chicken & Waffles $19 Bicol Express $15 Ube Scone $5.50 Awake and Alert Smoothie $8 Twice Cooked Crispy Pork Belly $17.75 The food is great and the potions are generous. Great for sharing. Please take my opinion with a grain of salt and go try the food for yourself. Some items like the Longanisa (pork and beef) Hand Held was only okay, but what elevated it was the pickled veggies (especially the ginger). The Brisket falls a part and if you're lucky to the one of the fattier pieces you're a winner. The fried chicken is crispy and well seasoned. This Kid's bowl is perfect for a picky eater like my niece who really only loves bacon and potatoes. Oh wait! The Fried Potatoes are honestly one of the big stars! They're super crispy and so fluffy on the inside. Even if you end up taking them home and reheating them in the airfryer its like magic! I'm not sure if they make them in house or buy them, but they are a MUST get if you love potato-y goodness. They also have rotating drinks as well as scones which are displayed on the coffee bar counter. The staff are friendly and you'll defiantly get a great meal. So if you're in the area go give some love to Morning Tide Eatery. They have lots of free parking! So no excuses. read more

I stopped in for the first time on NY Eve morning. Ordered the breakfast bowl. When it came I immediately asked for a take out container because I knew I would not be able to finish it. So delicious! Really good decaf coffee as well. And the leftovers on NY day were just as delicious. Very friendly and helpful staff. Will definitely be back! read more

Lovely brunch place with a Filipino flair in Coquitlam. It is located in the bowling alley complex so parking is available around. Been following their social media and I've been wanting to try their brunch for months. Glad we finally did! We ordered the following: Classic benny, twice cooked crispy pork belly, chicken and waffles and ube scone. Plus coffees and their Filipino iced tea. Everything was delicious and well-made. We all loved the fried potatoes on the side -- crispy yet soft inside -- sooooo goood! The ube scone was lovely too! Not too sweet and the ube drizzle on to it was perfect. Looking forward to coming back here again soon to try out other things in their menu. read more

Been wanting to check out this place for quite some time and finally made it this past weekend with my family. The place was empty when we arrived at 11am on Sunday but quickly filled up right after. The place is quite spacious and there are many large tables. They have their menus online but also offered us physical copies. We ordered the twice cooked pork belly Benny, the breakfast bowl, and the beef brisket bowl special. They were each a sizeable portion and had a lot of potatoes. The potatoes are deep fried and very oily. The first few bites were fantastic because they were super crispy, but it quickly became too rich for my taste. It was unfortunate that there wasn't a lot of veggies in any of the 3 dishes to help reduce that oily effect. Other than that, everything was quite delicious. We also ordered an ube scone and some coffees. We ordered 2 lattes and an espresso shot and I guess they don't serve drinks in proper cups because they all came in paper cups even though we were dining in. I think that was fine for the lattes but it was a little bit ridiculous to receive a shot of espresso in a large to go paper cup. I think if they're offering espresso shots on the menu then they should either have smaller paper cups or actual espresso cups to use. A lot of the espresso was wasted from coating such a large cup... The servers were very nice, and I'm very glad that they were since it's a payment first place, which means tipping first as well :) read more

Went here because it had great reviews. Save your money. The food had no flavor and half was undercooked. The chicken and waffles was a bunch of fatty chicken thighs with barely any seasoning on it, some didn't even have chicken in it. Had to ask for eggs to replace the fried chicken because it was inedible. The waffles tasted like bland, pancake mix. The spicy sauce on the side wasn't spicy at all. Also ordered the scallop and prawn benny. There was one scallop on it that had been cut in thirds, and two prawns. The Benny sauce tasted like it came out of a bag, also under-seasoned, and the English muffin was not even cooked through. They didn't offer to comp anything. You have to pay first, so you basically have to guess at how much of a tip you should be offering. If it was a standard restaurant and I'd ordered and paid at the end I definitely would've asked for at least one of those meals to be comped. It was gross. Cactus club pricing for food that tastes like it was made in a high school cooking class? Never again. Go to Pur & Simple instead it's amazing there every time. read more

Looking for a brunch spot? Look no further! I finally made a visit here after hearing many great things about their breakfast and I can't agree more! This place is phenomenal! They add a modern twist to classic brunch dishes inspired by the owners' Asian heritages. We ordered the Chicken and Biscuits + Twice Cook Crispy Pork Belly Benny + Ube Scone for takeout. From the deliciously sweet and tangy siracha honey butter crispy pork belly, the creamy and rich gravy and biscuits, to the beautifully baked ube scone, everything we ordered was delicious! And I have to emphasized, make sure you order the fried potatoes to go with your brunch! They are so so crispy it's not like any of the brunch potatoes you have had before! read more

What a great find! Yummy breakfast spot with great service. Don't pass on the brisket breakfast bowl...such a treat. Gooey egg, crispy potatoes, tender brisket, pickled onion and a really tasty hollandaise. With a little spice in those fresh peppers! Was a little bummed about the ordering at the counter and OJ in the Tropicana bottle. Would've upped the experience, but I guess kept people lingering longer. Would hands down be a regular if I lived in the area tho! read more

Kitchen staff was completely unwilling to make a simple omelet for someone who had strict dietary restrictions , a simple omelet with a few cherry tomatoes was requested and the kitchen staff refused , offered to pay whatever charge they deemed appropriate and was still declined . Ended up having to order two side orders of eggs which came out looking like they use extra small eggs . Horrendous first experience . Will never be going back . read more

Went here for brunch as was in the area shopping. We tried the brisket sandwich and brisket hash. The portions are huge. Staff is super nice and friendly, very accomodating. It's the kind of joint where you order at the counter and then the staff brings the food and drinks when ready. The item has around 8 main options, each with a Filipino twist. They also have weekly scone features and ube pastries. The baked good looked interesting and I would like to try them next time. The place is located in a strip mall and parking is easy with an overflow lot. This is a very small little cafe, but was busy on a Friday, mid morning. Go here to support a local business, it looked family run. read more

Great new little brunch spot in Coquitlam!! So I came by during their soft opening. The place looks super cute. (I use to come here when it was a Korean Resto, it was dark with no personality) I must say they did an amazing job renovating, it looks modern, light and very welcoming. Due to Covid restriction, there was no dine in yet. I ordered take out for the hubby and I. The staff were very friendly. All wore mask. Explained the menu. I ordered a latte while I waited for my food, coffee gets a thumbs up!!! I ordered two different types of benny, one seafood and pork belly. Both were very tasty, sauce was great, I personally loved the pork belly. The potatoes were out of this world, nice and crunchy on the outside but like mash potatoes on the inside. Ube scones were bonus, if you're a filipino girl like me you know Ube is where its at. Everything is made in house from scratch which is fantastic. I love that I can get great quality food in the burbs without having to to downtown. Overall, everything tasted great, I can't wait to go back and actually dine in! read more

I stopped by for lunch. I ordered the twice cooked crispy pork belly benny and ube scone. It was not their feature scone for the day but they were able to make one upon my request. Great service on their part! My pork belly benedict was made well. Soft poached egg and a good amount of hollandaise sauce. Pork belly was tasty. The fried potato was amazing. It was one of the crispiest potatoes I have tried in a long time. I was too full that I did not get around to eating the scone. It was packed for home. When I got around to eating the scone, it was moist, sweet and tasted like ube. Covid precautions were in place so food was only packaged in take out containers. Staff wore masks. Hand sanitizer was at the front of the restaurant. Credit card payment accepted. read more

Went here for the first time. Interestingly you havr to order and pay for your food at the front counter after they seat you. Service was pretty quick. Small premises with waiting list do not really a place to linger with friends as they need the seats. Food was good. Ordered the brisket sandwich. Quite good except very juicy and saucy so pretty messy. No way yo eat it cleanly. Friend had one of the Benedict. He enjoyed it but found the hash browns were quite crispy... almost texture of croutons. read more

Great brunch spot. Although the location is bit tiny it is worth the wait. The portions of the food are just about right

After I've discovered this newly opened brunch eatery, I went two times in one week. First visit, I ordered their twice cooked crispy pork belly benny and iced coffee with condensed milk. I was blown away how amazing and crispy the pork belly was. The batter was light but provided just the perfect texture and crunch on top of a thin house made English muffin (more like a mini crisped pancake). Savoury and sweet from the sriracha honey butter and a few tangy slices of pickled onions and serano pepper really cuts through the heaviness of pork belly making this a very balanced dish that I can actually finish entirely. The fried potatoes on the side were perfectly executed and to my surprise, no oily-ness and sogginess at all! My second visit I ordered a lighter option, the mushroom and spinach benny, and their infamous ube scone. Again, no disappointment. They serve different scones everyday, I was fortunate enough to purchase maybe the last ube scone that day. Warm, moist, fluffy, and just overall delicious. Will definitely be coming back! read more

Great food. Awesome crispy potatoes and hollandaise sauce from scratch. Gluten-free options

No real plates or cutleries for Covid, but containers worked just not the aesthetics. Both dishes were amazing and filled with flavour. The seafood Benny seafood was insanely tender and full of flavour. The pork belly was fried to perfection too with an amazing sauce. The pork was just a bit more fatty than I prefer. The potatoes were on point with crispiness, but it was a bit oily for my liking too. Overall the experience and service was superb and taste was above expectation! read more

Amazing brunch food. Love the bowls, love the sandwiches. The roast potatoes are to die for. Friendly service, great food. Highly recommend.

Such a great breakfast and lunch spot in the area, with the absolute best potatoes you can get. Super fluffy but crunchy even hours later if you have leftovers. They load up the portions too and you are Definitly happy with the quality and quantity you get. Personally I got the brisket sandwich and my girlfriend got the bennies. Brisket was juicy and tender with a really good pickle topping to cut through. Bennies were cooked perfectly and comes with salad. Delicious! Tried this takeout for the first time for Mother's Day brunch. We had the seafood Benny amd the breakfast bowl with added chorizo. Also added an extra side of longanisa. Their potatoes were so good and crunchy on the outside and creamy on the inside. The longanisa was just like the links - it had all the flavour with the char and even the achiote colouring but felt healthy than the traditional longanisa! The seafood Benny is my new favourite with the jumbo prawns and butter poached scallops! Also the homemade hollandaise had a unique flavour kick to it- delicious. We will definitely order again. The only negative was that we asked for scrambled egg and we still got poached. So we had to still cook a scrambled egg at home. Otherwise I would recommend. read more

4.5/5 stars. Very unique fusion brunch with big portions. Loved the fried potatoe chunks and pork Benny. Where else can you get a seafood Benny in Coquitlam?? Service could be improved slightly as they were understaffed and food took a long time. They also forgot to ask how we wanted our eggs poached. New amazing brunch spot in Coquitlam! They make everthing in house, and you can definately tell! Their english muffins are so soft and they don't get hard like store bought ones. They have options for those who have different dietary needs. They have a great plant based bowl that is delicious. However, my favorite is the twice cooked pork belly benny. It was not overly fatty as one would expect. It is fried and tossed in a beautifully balanced honey siracha butter. OMG soooo good!!! And their potatos are so crispy and have a soft and fluffy inside!! So good! Their coffee is also amazing! Friendly staff paired with a fresh and clean atmosphere makes them a perfect 10!!!
