For what we paid, I felt the space, menu, and execution were just a bit overvalued and felt a bit like a copy of an earlier brunch era. A good find in the hood. A prominent site on the block with its street side patio seating, this place serves good old comfort brunch. But in addition to the classic eggs Benny, full breakfast with eggs and sausage, they also have some intriguing items. Chicken waffle is served with chicken karaage. Conveniently right down the block from our cute little Airbnb. The cafe is adorable and comfortable inside. People are so friendly. I had the chai tea latte which tasted amazing and my boyfriend with the pistachio latte. It was good. I had spinach, avocado, and brie eggs Benedict. I like my eggs poached hard. With a side salad and everything tasted amazing. My boyfriend had chicken waffles. It was a chilly Sunday morning and I was looking for a place for hot breakfast on the Fraser Street I found this lovely breakfast and brunch place. I was lucky enough there wasn't a queue so I could get a table without waiting outside in the cold. I was warmly welcomed by the server and got the high table seat next to the entrance. As this was my first time here I ordered the Egg & Co breakfast with a cup a of latte. They have the option called Big Boy size upgrade but I thought I wasn't "big" enough for a larger size. There were so many people and after a while more people were waiting outside the entrance. After waiting for a while my breakfast arrived. The breakfast included two eggs of any styles, back bacon ham, bacon, breakfast sausage, hash browns & sourdough toast. The servers were very attentive and caring. They knew every time the door opened the chill winds blew on me so they helped me moved inside a bit. They checked on me if I was okay with everything with cheerful smiles. I really felt that I was a warmly welcomed retuning customer though it was my first time there. Overall, the foods were fresh and nice. The ambient was neat and tidy. Again the service was excellent. I would suggest they put an acrylic transparent barrier next to the entrance so the chill wind would not blow onto the customer sitting at the window seat. A lovely place on Fraser Street that has Asian fusion brunch/food. It is between 26th and 27th Avenue on Fraser St, where the wood patio area is. It gets busy so come early to get a table. The service is great as they are energetic, efficient and friendly. They have a counter along the window on each side that can fit 4 people each. A few long tables on the middle that fit groups of 6 and tables along the wall. We ordered the braised beef cheek benny and the chicken & waffles. The beef was very tender and not dry. The poached egg for the benny was a perfect medium. For the sides, you can get hash brown, house salad or half & half. The chicken & waffles was a crispy on outside, tender and juicy on inside karaage style chicken on top of waffles, with a couple of strips of bacon and nori on top. We would definitely recommend these. Our friends got the soft shell crab benny and the chicken & waffles. They liked the soft shell crab as you get that light crispy crunch of the batter with the great flavor of the crab. We thought about getting this instead of the beef one but we went with beef this time. Next time, we may try the crab benny. We came here for brunch on a Sunday and it was quite busy. They don't take reservations but from what I've been told, the wait is usually not more than 30 minutes. My friends suggested to go on a double date here and I was excited once I checked out the pictures. I'd gladly visit again. Reading some reviews, I expected a short wait. We got here at 11 am on a Saturday and had to wait about 30-40 mins for a table of 4. There were mostly tables of 2 ahead of us which got seated relatively quickly. Our vaccine passports were checked once seated and our table had clear partitions to separate from neighbouring seats. We scanned the QR code in the middle of the table for the menu. I had already chosen the chicken karaage on french toast. Everyone else got some variety of eggs Benedict. My boyfriend asked if they could do fries instead of hash browns, and they agreed. The food took maybe 20 minutes to arrive, and I was very excited to see my dish. The chicken karaage pieces were huge and crispy, and the mayo and seaweed paired well with the slightly sweet French toast. There was also syrup on the side, which I appreciated. The eggs Benedict my boyfriend got arrived with hash browns, so when we alerted the waitress, she immediately apologized and brought a side of fries for us to have. We appreciated that she took ownership and provided a solution quickly! I would definitely visit again as service was great and they have quite an extensive list of brunch offerings and I was very happy with my French toast! What a delightfully hip neighborhood brunch joint on Fraser St! Asian fusion + brunch is fun concept, and Egg & Co. manages to pull it off as well. First, hats off to our server! Judging by the name from our receipt, I think it was the manager Sam. But we were greeted and served with such pep and hospitality the entire meal. She recommended that I get the chicken and waffles with avocado and poached eggs, and I have no regrets following that suggestion. She also advised that I mix the maple syrup and sriracha to pour over the entire thing, and it was a flavor game changer. I also like that they use chicken thigh and not breast for the fried chicken. My only complaint is that there were some fairly large chunks of batter without meat, which was a little too crunchy/dry in my mouth. Otherwise, really delicious chicken and waffle dish; I liked the nori and mayo and only wished there had been a bit more. Smoothie of the day was strawberry, guava, and lychee - loved the flavors but thought it was a little overpriced at $7. I called the restaurant and they explained that the side order for $4 was just 1 Pancake. I think they should clarify that on the menu this $4 pancake was not worth it! The inside is bright, hip and a little throwback 2000's music was up on the stereos. The brunch menu is short and sweet; brunch, bread and benedicts. Total of 16 items available. - Latte ($4.50) - B substituted for soy milk ($0.50). Decent. - Chicken & French toast ($15.00) - dish needs work. We weren't a fan of the French toast; texture was too soft and taste was bland. The karaage was a mixed bag. Some bites were too crunchy, otherwise were okay. Sounded great on paper but taste wise, it didn't enthral. - Prawn & chorizo hash ($15.00) - this was the best of the three dishes we ordered. Good amount of meat, variety of vegetables and balanced seasoning. I don't love hashes but this hit the spot. - Buttermilk pancakes ($12.00) - you get four stacks of pancakes (which is a lot) but these were mundane. We didn't finish. You know me when it comes to seafood - it's going down!!! Delicious crab indeed! This new concept to me of a 63-degree egg (do they really cook them for 45 minutes? Who has time!?), I found intriguing. Regardless the egg did taste superior in my mind & via my taste buds. So take that to the bank! Egg & Co is located on Fraser at 26th - a part of Fraser I have no business being at! I was actually heading to Whole Paycheck aka Whole Foods at Cambie & Broadway & decided last minute to try out this new joint. No regrets whatsoever. It was busy but we struck lucky with only a 7 minute wait. The good thing is that I find for me anyways, this spot to be a transient point = people will pop in for a bite then pretty much leave once done! There's zero ocean view to look at so why stick around once your bellys full! In my head, this is the new kid on the block re: brunch places. Lots of hype and some of the menu items definitely live up to the hype. First the good: We got seated right away - 3 of us - and customer service was totally lovely! The neighbourhood is transit accessible and also VERY parking accessible! Oodles of free parking all around. Now... The menu! It had some interesting words that definitely piqued all of our interests. At the table we had the Cinnamon French Toast which had *dulce de leche*, I opted for the classic *Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict* and the STAR of our brunch... *Chicken and French Toast* The Cinnamon French Toast was easy to eat. The dulce de leche, rich and sweet! Definitely something sweet and not as heavy. You will want a cup of coffee to go with (which are served in slightly small IKEA mugs that have the awkward little finger handles). The salmon eggs benedict was NOT special. It was pretty standard in regards to taste.. so if you are playing it safe with your favourite selection, sure why not? If you want to try something new and have your salivary glands get excited, I would opt for my other two options I had that morning. Finally, the Chicken and French Toast had chicken kaarage, nori, sriracha mayo, maple syrup.. It was SO heavenly! The flavours worked and the chicken was so juicy. I've had all types of chicken waffle-type dishes, and this one was by far my favourite. This also could've been because it WAS with French Toast and not waffles and so you aren't having to chew through meaty chicken and a meaty waffle as french toast is usually quite light! The flavour combinations worked great. My recommendation is to actually split the food with people at the table if possible so you can get a mix of it all. I enjoyed having a bite here and there of the other dishes than just my eggs benedict, and wish we had split even more so! read more

One of my favourite brunches during my recent trip to Vancouver was at Egg & Co. On a Saturday around noon there was a short wait for a table. Patio seating is available, but even dining indoors felt somewhat safer with the plexiglass dividers separating tables and vaccine record check. The tiles, mirrors, and polished eclectic decor in the bar area helped contribute towards the cool aesthetic. But more than decor, Egg & Co. delivers in terms of delicious food and drinks. Menu items included avocado toast, traditional breakfast, chicken and waffles/French toast, and elevated options for eggs benedicts. There were so many great coffee and tea drink options, as well as amazing sounding cocktails. The staff were helpful in accommodating for and offering menu suggestions for my family member who has a dairy allergy. I highly recommend the scallop and bacon benny (which is something I've not had elsewhere) and the chicken karaage and french toast. Would definitely consider returning here when I'm next in Vancouver. read more

Egg and Co held a giveaway through instagram quite a while back and finally having the chance to come by, the very kind owner allowed me to get take out with the gift card. The first thing that caught our eye was the chicken and waffles and it was delicious! The chicken was the standout being large chunks of flavourful and juicy dark meat. The spicy mayo onto complimented perfectly and the waffle was a great base to go with the dish. We also got their crab benedict which had a wonderfully poached egg and hollandaise that wasn't too creamy. Last, we got their monte cristo sandwich which tasted pretty good with a soft and fluffy brioche bread but there was nothing too special about the sliced ham and cheese sandwiched in the middle. The fries seemed to be hand cut though, and were not too salty either! Overall, the food here is quite good but the standout was definitely the chicken and waffles. My friend got us on the waitlist just before 11am on a sunny Saturday and we ended up waiting for about 20-25 minutes for bar seating. There was a lovely orchid placed right next to me on the bar and as we were waiting for our food, we noticed that it was attracting a few wasps that then started flying into our waters (and my face). We asked the young server to move it elsewhere and although he had to check with his manager first they were thankfully able to accomodate. Unfortunately I had to reduce a star due to a pretty obvious oversight: the eggs on the benny were overdone. For a place that calls itself egg & co I hoped that they would be able to cook their eggs properly. As you can see in the pictures, even the hollandaise sauce had cooled and "hardened" on the egg so that wasn't runny either. Not sure if it had been sitting under a heat lamp for too long? I looked around at the packed restaurant, at the crowd of hungry guests waiting for their names to be called, and considered how long it took for our orders to arrive... It was not going to be worth my while to send the eggs back. The side of hash was crispy but overall I felt the dish was a bit one-dimensional and nothing extraordinary. We opted for a seat inside - staff no longer wear masks but plexiglass is still up and they make it a point to distance between folks eating inside. Friendly and genuinely enthusiastic service. We had their claim to fame chicken karaage and waffles - definitely go with the recommendation of adding a poached egg or two to your order. Delicious! The insane lineups outside have finally dissipated, allowing my family and I a chance to see what Egg & Co is all about. For multiple weeks in a row, we had tried, and failed at getting a seat at this newer breakfast establishment. We'd arrive at a reasonable time, but the waiting list was already 8 names deep. But, the last two weeks, we noticed that there was no longer any lineups outside, even around brunch time on a sunny day. So, for the first time, we got a chance to eat here. Our greeter and server were friendly, but the other staff were almost robotic in the way they went about their business. We decided to order a breakfast hash bowl and several things a la carte from the "sides" menu: 1 pancake, 1 french toast, 1 order of scrambled eggs and 1 order of bacon. This allowed us sample a variety of items. The breakfast hash bowl was really good and hearty. Chunks of potato, numerous prawns and spicy sausages were hidden under two sunny-side-up eggs. It wasn't as greasy as I was anticipating. And, the portion was perfect. A terrific way to start the morning! The French toast was a complete letdown. Have you seen the monster French toast at Jethro's? Well, Eggs and Co's are the opposite: thin, meager, and so lightly egg battered that I would have mistaken it for regular toast if I had not been told that it was French toast. Pancakes were also disappointing. Thin, a bit rubbery and not at all fluffy. The fact that the syrup ran off the pancake rather than soak into the pancake tells you a lot. Bacon was okay, but how hard is it to screw up bacon? We got 4 slices of crispy goodness. My favorite scrambled eggs are the kinds that they serve at A&W and McDonalds. Eggs and Co's scrambled eggs definitely rivaled those two fast food chains: moist, fluffy, flavourful and even consistency. But, it makes me wonder if Eggs and Co uses freshly cracked eggs (like their name would imply) or if they use the "liquid eggs" that fast food chains prefer to use for better consistency and flavour. This is not an accusation; if they use liquid eggs, I'm all for it as I think they taste better. And, Eggs and Co's scrambled eggs definitely taste amazing! But, if you call your business Eggs and Co, people do expect fresh eggs. After tax and tips, we spent about $40 which seems about average for the course. Of course, the same amount spent at Jethro's would have seen us take home two large containers of leftovers whereas here, we walked away empty-handed. So, overall, some good, some bad. Not the best breakfast place I've tried, but not the worst either. I think that most people have come to the same conclusion that I came to as evidenced by the dwindling crowds. read more

This is what has replaced Escobar and has been open a short time. A lot of Escobar was retained. The wait for a table was fairly short, maybe 20 minutes, and the service was excellent (although slow at times). There were only a few servers working and with the brunch rush they were always on their toes so no minus points. I ordered the hanger steak hash and my wife had the breakfast. The food was excellent and the value for the money is also very good. We definitely will be back. read more

Very millennial focused, with nostalgic bangers from the early 2000s playing over the speakers, teal and green decor and cool light fixtures, and the best mimosas in the city. They have great juice flavor combos, I really enjoyed the pineapple and I'm excited to try the lychee next time.
