The brioche bun was soft yet crispy and the flavours were nice. My friends got eggs benny. They said it was good although the egg was not runny, rather a soft jammy egg yolk. Yum!!! We were originally going to eat at the place next door but to our luck it was closed and we decided to eat at the bistro. I'm SO glad. The lady told me it would be a 5 minute wait, which wasn't long to begin with but actually it was really only about 2 minutes until we got a table, which was even better. Came here for brunch during my weekend trip from Washington State and had the best experience! My partner and I came to Blvd Bistro with no expectations and were surprised to find a 45 minute wait, though they were kind enough to accommodate us at the bar. We got the Paella Del Patron with an extra sunny side-up egg. I totally get why this dish is so popular! The chorizo, roast chicken, peas, and saffron rice work amazingly together. My partner couldn't help but eat the plate clean. We also got the Carrot Cake Pancakes which were GREAT. I'm not a huge sweet tooth so this dish was perfectly "not too sweet". Luckily there was bar seating available right away and we were fine with that. The Paella I can see why it is a local fav, the plating very nice and the first bite was wonderful. The rice wonderfully plump, vibrant yellow from the saffron. Many crispy bits of rice mixed throughout a well as a decent amount of chicken and chorizo/peas. Each mouthful was tasty and delicious! The sunnyside eggs were fried perfectly and nice and runny. Tasted a couple of bites of wife's French toast. Delightfully sweet but not to much, wonderful whipped cream and all together a harmonious bite. Wifey I think is still searching for her crispy exterior French toast. I also had a taste of the mimosa! Blvd is the best brunch spot I've found so far in the North Shore. During my most recent visit, I ordered Huevos Rancheros, which contained Spanish Chorizo, along with a good mix of veggies, eggs, chipotle cream and cilantro chimmichurri. The combination of all these ingredients made the meal rich in flavour and unique. My advice to other diners - prepare to wait for a bit. I got the Beautiful Buddhist ($18.75), a hash that comes with veggies, potatoes and smoked tofu smothered in a rich and savoury miso tahini sauce. I added some Just Egg ($3) to the bowl. Though it was super busy, the bowl came out in about 15 minutes. Really delicious bowl with fresh mixed veggies, plenty of potatoes, and very firm smoked tofu. The hubby and I had brunch here on a Saturday morning in June. He was the one who recommended this place since he used to live in North Van. There was a line when we arrived and the wait was quite long. An option is to grab coffee next door while waiting for your table. We waited around 45mins to an hour for a table since they only had a few tables open while they're doing some renovations. Service was ok overall and our server was friendly and nice. We decided to come here and I'm so glad we did, we ended up coming back all 3 days for breakfast. It's a cute little place with adorable decorations. It's tiny so gets packed fairly quickly, Sunday was the busiest day, had about a 20 minute wait. Everything on the menu sounded good, I got the steak and eggs the first two days.
